UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY Pt 1

I want to do a teaching very quickly on the subject of authority, and tonight I'll give the foundation to the subject, and as the Lord helps us, we will continue to build precept, open precept. And lines, open lines. Allelujah, Raise the Lord, Glory to Jesus, Thank you Lord. So I've titled it Understanding Spiritual Authority. Raise God. Authority is a very important component of our spiritual life and it impacts very extensively on our material award. It is a reality in the spirit but holds existential implications. And any believerho does not understand the subject of authority or commit himself or herself to work in it, we'll not fulfilled God's mandate and will not maximize life on this side of the divide. And so it's very important that we have a very thorough understanding of the subject of authority, very very important. And so before I introduce the concept of authority, let me quickly outline why authority is very important, the purpose and the reasons why you must have an exercise authority. Number one, Authority is designed. To give you the capacity to exercise governance and to maintain order. Where there is no authority, there will be chaos, and there will be disorderliness. And wherever there is chios and disorderliness, purpose and meaning cannot find expression. And so the first reason for which authority was given is to bring governance and to maintain order, to establish order. And when we speak of governance, we are not just talking about administration. Amongst men. We are talking about out the capacity to bring God's government to the etherealm, to bring God's will to the ethereum. So it's beyond having an administrative system where things are done in an orderly manner. It is first of all, breaking into God's realm and establishing his government. Will is wisdom on the face of the earth, and then having that wisdom administered and stewarded in the way that God's purpose finds expression. And so when you look at Gealesis chapter one, from verse twenty eight, the Bible told us that the first in God gave man, after blessing him and empowering him, was for him to be able to establish government on the face of the earth. He said, And God blessed them, And God said to them, be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue. It, and have dominion, and have dominion. Over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and every living thing that moveth upon the face of the earth. So without authority, it will be impossible to establish the will of God on the face of the earth and to have that will properly administered. So government order is a function of authority. And if you study Romance State Team from verse one to four, you see that this goes beyond a spiritual activity. It has effect in every sphere of human and devl is let every soul be subject onto the higher place, he say, for there's no power but of God, and the power that bee are ordained of God. So even when you. Break into the seculars fair, it's telling us that the reason this concept is able to hold even in the seculars fair is because God instituted it as an instrument of establishing. The will of God. You're read to verse four, let's proceed. Verse two. Is the who so therefore resisted the power resisted the ordinance of God. And they that resists shall receive to themselves damnation. Verse three. Let's be first placed whether it's on the system. If a for rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil will doubt, then not be afraid of the power. Do that which is good, and thou shall be praised of. The same verse four head, for he is the minister of God to d for good. He's talking about authorities, governmental authorities. Now he said, but if thou do that which is evil, be afraid, for he beared not the sword in vain, For he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. So authority is the ability to bring God's kingdom to the ether realm, and also to establish order and administration to the will of God. On the face of the earth. It goes beyond spiritual into every aspect of our lives. Even in the Church, authority finds expression first demoti Chapter three. You read from verse one the whole scripture. The whole chapter talks about authority in the House of God. First ordination of bishops then or the nation of deacings. The idea is to bring governance and to bring order administration to the will of God and to ensure that it is done according to God's program. So the first reason why. Authority is very important is because authority is the key to governance and it is the key to order number two. Why is authority important. Authority is important because it empowers you to bless and to be a blessing. Without authority, you cannot bless. It takes authority to be able to impart and to deposit blessings on anybody or in any spare you study efficiency at the four from verse eleven, the Bible revealed to us individuals in the church that God has empowered to be a blessing, and he gave them authority. Is that He gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers. For what reason? For the perfecting. The word perfecting is the word equiping. Of the saints to equip. And I've taught you here that equipping or blessings or transparence of power and virtue, all the possibilities of the spirit realm has channels and precausors that makes them possible. I said, number one, prophetic atmospheres. When we speak on the prophetic atmospheres, when we lay hands on people, we transmit spiritual possibilities and spiritual virtues. And then I said, through principles, through doctrines. When we teach, we equip you by bringing you light, and that's a blessing. And then I said, through covenance, when you get into a committed relationship with God, you are able to draw from His realm. And so when the Bible speaks of equipping the saints, here's talking about blessing the sins. It can be through impartations, it can be through doctrines. But these beings who are in this position of authority, either apostles, prophets, evangelist persons, and teachers, are dear to bless They are dear to empower, because the word blessed means empowered, to prosper. So when they said, when the Bible says that they appostles, the prophet and all of these guys in authority are to equip. The sains, it means they are to bless the sins. They are to empower the sins through teachings, through impartations so that they become better. But you see, they could not have done that except as they were put in authority. So everybody who is placed in authority, it's made a custodian of blessings. It's made a conveyor of blessings. So authority is important because it empowers you to bless and to be a blessing. And there are numerous scriptures to that effect, which I'm not going to go into because of the length of what I want to share tonight. Number three, why is authority very important? Authority empowers you to protect and to defeat evil, to protect against evil and to defeat evil. If you don't have authority, you may not be able to protect against evil, and you. May not be able to defeat evil. In Look ten nineteen, Jesus to them, I've given on to you. Power. Behold. I give on to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and not thing shaped by any means for to you. So protecting from and defeating evil is a function of authority. If you don't have authority, you will be shocked that evil is not a phenomenon. Evu is a personality, is an entity, and it's also a government. Is that the devil come not but for to kill, to steal, and to destroy John ten, verse ten. But I am come that you might have life, and life to the food. So evil can kill, it can steal, and it can destroy. So it's not something you go to speak grammar too, it's not something you confront just. By share goodness. You need to be empowered to be able to protect from and to defeat evil. This is what authority is important. If not that God gave us authority set and would have destroyed all of us, there is we are still here is because there is a system of authority that defenses. And it's important for you to know this because when we teach like this, one of the problems with believers is that they can take notes. Sometimes they even understand theoretically what you are communicating, but they never take a step further to apply it to their lives. So we learn to increase knowledge, we don't learn to become victorious. Jesus said, you shall know the truth. The truth is not designed to make you a teacher. The truth is not designed to make you a lecturer. The truth is not designed to make you aware. As it were. All of these things can happen, But they said you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. So any truth you have that you cannot apply to existential things and enjoy victory. You don't know it yet so these things i'm sharing you with you to now, I'm sharing with you so that you learn it and then you deploy it. So at the end of this meeting, any dimension of authority that you are going to realize you have. The goal of it is not to be in your book. The goal of it is not for you to talk about it. The goal of it is for you to begin to exercise governance. It's for you to begin to bring order where there's chaos. The goal of it is for you to be able to bless anybody that comes around you. The goal of it is for you to be. Able to protect from evil and to defeat evil. This is why we are teaching the subject number four. Why is authority important? Authority is important because it is the basis for which kingdom can be advanced. Without authority, we can't advance kingdom. Every time you say that kingdom come, it's a declaration of war, because what you are doing is that you are approoting and exist stink kingdom and you are trying to establish another. So if you don't have authority, you can advance kingdom. That's why Jesus told them, I know you have been disciphled, but with there is something else you need to have, because when you go out, you are not reciting what you receive and wrote in your lectured note. When you go out, you're going to confront darkness. You are going to advance kingdom. You need to be empowered. And so in Matthew twenty eight, if you read from verse eighteen, he said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Now that I have that authority, and then trusting it to you, go in that authority and disciple on nations. Every time Jesus sent them out to advance kingdom, he gave them authority. Look ten nineteen, he gave them authority before sending out the seventy and then matchw twenty eighth, verse eighteen and nineteen he handed authority we thought of. No matter how much you love God, no matter how burden you are about God's kingdom, to find expression in your family and your country, it won't work. Kingdom does not advance just by desire. It advances by power. It advances by authority. And so the reason God wants you to understand that you have authority and teach you how to deploy it is so that you become a frontier that advances his kingdom. Even Jesus was on a thirty years there was no kingdom advancement. You think it's a coincidence, patty years, no record of kingdom advancement. And it's not because he was in literate. No, at the age of two f he already knew so much that he asks doctors of the law questions they could do answer. He answered it, because if you read. That scripture, he was the one asking and answering. So at t f he knew enough to advance kingdom. But he was waiting for authority. He was waiting the moment authority came. Look for eighteen he entered the synagogue. The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me. And it began to least to preach the gospel to the poor. He had sent me to heal the broken hearted, to break deliverance to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty. Then that are bruised. You think Jesus didn't have bought him for thirty years. He did, but he understands how it worked. No wonder, when he sent the disciples out, he said, I saw Saturn for like lightning from heaven. This is a game of authority. So number four, why is authoritism and why is authority important? It empowers you for kingdom advancement, and then finally they are more we are going for tonight. Authority brings legitimacy to you as a child of God. If you don't have authority, you can't claim that you're an al of God. So one thing authority has come to do, amongst others is to legitimize your sonship, is to legitimize your stand with God. You know, God is so messiful. He didn't bring us into the kingdom out of pity. If it was based on pity and sentiment if you confronted demo the way that demo will slap you. So when God brought you in, he put the seal of authority on your life. So you can, out of piety, worship and. Humility say to God, is a privilege to stand in your presence. That's not how God's read. When you're standing God's presence, God sees it as a legitimate position. You may not have ended, but they gave you. So if you study John Chapter one, verse ten, he came into the world. Although the world was made by him. The ward knew him not they came onto his own, his own received him not, but as many as received him to them. He gave not the privilege, if it was a privilege set and with slappy when you confront him to them, he gave the authority to become the sons of God. You know how it happens in Africa. Now you can be in that family for thirty years. You even have a pet name for you and adopted child if they own now the house does not write a will and put your name there. The day he dies, those your uncles will. Come and say, my brother, where did where did they carry you from? Again? What is your original language? When they asked us kind of questions, not that they are probably legitimacy. You've been around for thirty years, you call them uncle. They tapped you and caught you, my son. It's a different language you were speaking. They moment their brother dies, they say, yes, what what? What the language? What's your first language? Again? What's that? Where was that did you come from? Those people are good people. Now this is transport. Go home. The reason if a god dies. You can't have this take is because there's a document, there's a will that this and this and this belong. To this verson. So whether they like it or not, they have no choice. If God brought us into the kingdom, I said, I'm giving you the privilege, come and. Sit on the table. When you go to cast devil, they will not youll you will have my grain for ten years. The reason they look at you they have no choices because there's something was watten, something was reading. It's not a privilege from God's realm. It's a right in israelm I've given them the right to call me father. I've given them the right to have the title of sonship. This is why you must understand for it it brings legitimacy to your identity in the Kingdom of God. Having understood this, let's quickly look at the concept of authority, because tonight I want to show you the three layers of authority that is available for every believer. Then I will show you they fought layer that is available for some. Because there are five layers of authority. The highest level of authority is sovereign authority. Only God sits there. But there are four other layers, and I. Want to show you tonight so that you can walk in it. We have too many Christians so beggarly, and the Bible says, I've seen an abomination under this song, he said, servants are riding on horses, white princes are becking. It's an abomination. It's an aberration of reality. But for you to come into who you are and this stature of what God has would dange you to walk in, then are setting critical understandings that you must have. Authority is chief among them. And so very quickly what the concept of authority? Now, for authority to exist, four things I most Number one is power. Without power, there can be no authority. Please write these things down and understand them. Number two, for authority to exist, they. Must be jurisdiction. Without jurisdiction, authority will be vague. Number three, for authority to exist, there must be a right or a sovereign proclamation. That's why in the natural they support it with documents. There's no way you have authority without rights being written and endorsed. If you like win an election, everybody know you want is the guide They give the certificate of return that enters power. Argue and kill yourself. In fact, if they want to us fait you after five months in court, then they will read the judgment for the whole day. You're asleep, you know the profession of the judgment. When they finished and they say you lost, that's the summary. Then we read for a whole day and then summarize it in five second. You lost. That Rada the guy who has certificates of return, he's the one who will be called and who will exercise that dominu. And then number four, for authority to exist, there must be submission. These are the four critical ingredients of authority, power, jurisdiction, rights, or what you're called being given. Every time you hear authority in the Bible, you hear is given, I give you, I give you. It's a right. There must be a sovereign declaration. And then there must be submission, because you give the authority to the degreever submitted to it. So let's look at the Bible quickly. What then is power? Power is the ability to occasion or castraight or produce possibilities, the ability to bet possibilities. That is what power is. Anybody who has power can beat possibilities. Possibilities are in the womb of power. If you don't have power, you'll be barying of possibilities. Anywhere you'll see ability demonstrated. And the end product of that demonstration is a possibility. Know that power is there. It can be miracles and I'm going to show you dimensions of power. It can be restrained of something. So long as the possibility is better. Power was demonstrated and for you to really understand power in the New Testament, there are four wards for power, four basic wars. I don't want to go. Into Greek, but it's for clarity. Number one is dunamis. The nammis is what they called miracle working power, but actually dunamis is the ability to effect change. Anybody who has the ability to effect change has a dimension of power called dunamis. That's why somebody has a tumor. You do whatever you do, the two body disappears. You have affected the change. Somebody cannot make progress in life. You do whatever you do, and certainly the person begins to make progress. You have affected the change. So long as transformation happens, dunamis was at work the area of the demonstration of power that affects transformation of possibilities, change of possibilities is a power called dunamis at one vers eight. You shall receive power. After that, the Holy Goos has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses onto me in Jerusalem, in Judea, and the artem was part of the world. Why did they call them witnesses? They are proof producers. If you can create change, then you have proof. So they are people and power to produce change. It's a dimension of power. Number two. Dimension of power is what the Bible calls and agea and a gea is a dimension of power. That is active or productive. Anybody who has anergia has the capacity to produce. Anybody who has. The dunamist has the capacity to effect change. Please understand this. They are different things. If you have dunamis, you can affect change. That means, no matter how bad things are, you can't turn it around. But the guy who has anergia can produce. Here there is nothing to be changed, he can affect it. And as you read your Bible you will find it. You know. One of the limitations we have is the fact that we read scriptures in English. Glory to God. And Agia ephicients one nineteen Philippians two thirteen. The Bible calls it the exceeding greatness of his power. To Oswald that believe according to the walking of his mighty power. Walking of his mighty power is an active power. But the goal of that power is that it produces things. This is why when Jesus died, that power came upon. Him and produced life, eraised him from the dead. It's a type of power. The guy who has dynamis, no matter how bad things I can change it. The guy who has. Energia, even if there was nothing, there is an ability him to produce something. Paul cause it talked about it in Philippians too, that's thirteen, not nineteen. It is God that work at the us. But to will and to do of his good pleasure. That's a capacity. If it is willed, it can be produced. It's a type of power. And then number three is. What the Bible calls iscus. This one is strength and residence is the type of power Mark twe thirty ephicients six twelve. You see this dimensional power is coouls is culs. It talks of strength. And thus shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind, with all thy strength. When you find somebody who has saved God for thirty years is a power. Somebody may cast out demons, but they can't consistently serve. God for five years. So he has donamis, but he doesn't have his schools. Are you seeing the problem of believers? Most times it's a lack of power. And somebody can be. A Christian for twenty years, but they can't pray for headache and it's in So it's not good to have one not the order. Have all. Have the namis, have a enegia half in schools. I was teaching three weeks ago in Legos and I dealt extensively with power. Go and read it, Go and listen to the message. The title is God Power Sords. I took time to show all of these dimensions of power. I showed the rems of power. I show the intensities of power. You need to know this. And I showed the things that provoke these powers. Because all of these powers are generated. As you are going to discover the difference between power and authorities. That power is generated, authority is given. Glory to God. So you have in schools which mix of strength efficient sixteen? Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. The word might dear is, the word is schools is tamina. You find a believer. All Setter has in his quiver. He has shot at him. But the guy is this standing? Why have you not been discouraged? Why have you not stopped worshiping God? Why have you not got in offender than God? That is iscus. That's what job hard cause God and die. Don't talk like foolish women. I may not have enough revelation to counter set but I will be here at the end of the day. And believe me, if we finished strong, you will need ischuols. Some of us love the dummies, cast up devils towards disappear. Carry crotches is good, you need it, But beyond that, you need another dimension glory to God. Number four is Kratus. Kratus is prevailing power. Why ischuos is turning out to a deal. Kratos is power to dominate. Come on, I won't just wait for you to be attacking me. A point will come when I would saying, hey, hey, the warfare has an next party data. I know I've been deal for five years, but I didn't come to it to en deal. My name is not endurance. A point will come. I said, stop. Stop, it's God prevailing power. You can't be attacking me every day. And I'm saying it is where it is, where God is my defense. One day, God rising me too. Oh my God, it's got power. As you walk with God, you're gonna see all these dimensions playing out a vision sixteen. You know when when when when Paul was teaching about warring with princess, he used this two power and combination because oh my, don't worry, I will show you something about authority. I'm going somewhere. You know. I began by telling you there are four things that authority requires to manifest. One is what power, Two is what. Jurisdiction, crea is what right, four is what submission. I'll tell you what I'm teaching you about this dimension because when the man has authority, he is giving the right to use power in diverse combinations. So there are times when you need a combination of dunamis and iscus. So you are going to cast out the demon, but the demon is going to be rebellious. You are going to do family deliverance to stop that. But that deliverance will take three days. So you have dunamis, but you may not have stamina. So certain may outweigh you. It will weary you out. The power is not in doubt, but your light is coming in layers. For you to have the aggregated revelation to bring deliverance to that family, it will take you three days. Meanwhile, you came with that potential, but you didn't have famina. You pray for three hours and you say, guy, this matter, only God can hand do it. We know only God can hand do it. That's why he sent you as its representative. So authority does not exist in limbo. There are trans when God will give you a combination of tunamis and kratos. So you're not just You don't just have power to change things. You have power to prevail. So when you see setting. Foss, when it becomes to brutal, there are combos happening. There are combos in the spirit, combos, combos. It happens in the spirit. Kratus efficient, sister, The spirit m is interesting and you. Can learn it. You can lend the ways of God. You can learn it. It's not everything that is just emotional and emotional. You know the problem with us most of the times is we are emotionable, we don't have gravity because we don't have understanding how of urspiritual things work. If I was teaching on power, I would have shown you how to generate to unamis. I would have shown you how to generate cratus. I would have shown you how to generate chuuls. I would have shown you how to generate a thegia, so that you have all of this dimension. But I'm not teaching on power. I'm just showing you that power is a critiqual component of authority because where there's no power, even if you are giving the right, the below result. Because the right is to use power. So when we say authority has to do it right, it's actually the right to administer power. So where there's no power, even if right is giving, there' still no authority. Are you following? So understand this. When you have authority, it means you have the right to exercise any dimension of power and any dimension of the combos of power, depending. On how you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. That's why there are certain battos you want to go for. God tells you praying. Tones for ten hours, He's trying to generate Dunamis. You have the right to use it for his teaching. You have to generate it. You want to go for certain battus. The only goal tells you meditate on scriptures. He tells you first, he tells you go and give to the poor. All of those things are methods to create combinations of power. You have the right, but do you have the resource. This is why many Christians are shouting in the name of Jesus, nothing is happening. They don't know that power is a critical part of authority. So when we are dealing with authority, our understanding is that we have the right to deploy power. So anywhere you stand, when you speak, speak with understanding. Don't talk. It's not grammar. You find some Christians somebody is sick. They're speaking English, they are doing theology. Meanwhile, nothing is flowing. Some people don't have power in them, but their consciousness is not tailored to deploying that power. Meanwhile, they are shouting and sweating. When a man of authority is terms and he's talking, his consciousness is that every word I speak releases power. Jesus said, the word I speak to you. It's not Hebrew, it's not Aramaic. It's not theology is spirit and life. So I mobilized life by talking. I'm mobilized spirit by talking. So in the game of authority, when you talk, your consciousness should be that I have the right. To mobilize power. So I am mobilizing power in the name of Jesus. Riso, I'm mobilizing power in the name of Jesus. You are free. I'm mobilizing power. I'm not just talking to impress. I'm talking to release. Number two. Authority deals with jurisdiction. You can carry power everywhere, but when he has to do with authority, carry it everywhere. Genesis one, twenty eighth. The first time God gave me an authority, he gave him authority with jurisdiction. Bless them be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue the hed have dominion. That's authority over what the air waves, the water waves, and the earth. He gave him jurisdiction airdam would be making a great mistake if it's too dop to battle with any spirit. God didn't list any spirit here because it wasn't his jurisdiction. If Adam next the mistake to. Say I'm wrestling with principalities and powers. It wasn't his jurisdiction because that was not captured. The first Adam was of the act act operation, was acting. But when Jesus came he increased the jurisdiction. While he was on earth, he had not gone to hell. The demons that came to it, he gave authority over them. Look ten nineteen. In my name is that go? And what thread upon? Give me the scripture? I give you power to thread upon serpents and scorpions, look ten nineteen. So he gave jurisdiction deal with demons, deal with demons, serpens, scorpions, and power of the enemy demons that were operating on Earth. But when Jesus died and rose from the grave, Paul added. Something efficient sixth twelve. We rest not against flesh blood, but against what principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spirit to our wickedness in heavenly places. So Poe increased the revelation of our scope from air, water, and land to heavenly places. So now we can fight in the second heaven. Adam couldn't do that, but we can. We're wrestle with spirits in the heavenly places, because he has spoid principalities, he has spoiled powers, and he has handled that authority to us. So while you are starting jurisdiction in power, there are three things you pay attention to. Number one, what entities can you engage? Number two? What kind of command can you give them? Number three? What territory can you function him and exercise authority? These are the three jurisdictions of authority. What entities can you deal with? Demos, principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in heavenly places? Efficient six, twelve and thirteen? What scope? What territory can you exercise that power? Bands of the air, fish of the sea, creeping things that walk upon the face of the earth, demons that possess men in my name, cast out devils, and then princes in heavenly places. Jesus didn't say, go to her. I'm fright. If you're now moved beyond territorial forces, people possessed and heavenly places, and you now saying, now we are entering hair. Every prince that is in hair, come out, now, this is this is our time to deal with You are the angels that were locked beneath the head, Now I break those chains, come here for punishment. Oh you know we hear all kinds of things. No, we have power. We have power, every angel, every demonic entity. But there was in the heavenly places, and there was lock under the earth. They didn't give you power. The Bible said the angels that did not keep their. First estate is saying God lock them in the bottomless pit, waiting for the day of judgment. It is say, go on, George Densil. You'll be sure that the angels you are dealing with the heavenly places may be more powerful than they once locked. What they didn't give you jurisdiction. If you God here, you are in trouble. The problem we have is that when exercising power, we undermind jurisdiction. Out of forty we are just talking now. It is call any demon out of hell and punishing. Did you did that. Number three? He didn't even tell you that. When you cast the demon out, imprison that demon. There are many people who cast out demons and they say, we imprison you. For three bonds. You don't have jurisdiction. Jesus said, when an evil spirit is gone out of a man, the best thing you can do disciple him quickly. Else that spirit comes back, it will go on moving right places. He didn't say you have that you have authority to imprison him. If you go out of jurisdiction, you will see that the valve of power will deplete. You'll become naked. Don't matter how powerful you are exercising authority, you are powerful within jurisdic. Show as I'm here now as a leader postle, I can give any instruction as I'm standing down. Imagine I got to another ministry and they say, come and greet the people. And I come up. I said, you need to fast for thirty days oga. God is not telling us that too. Where are you from, we said greet? So your jurisdiction is to greet, not to give us prophetic direction. That's the problem with believer us. And so strange things happen to people in warfare. The reason is because they stepped out of jurisdic sho and they became naked, set and could see them and shoot them. Number Four, power authority functions only when the right is given. That's why you see every time you speak about authority, I give I give look ten nineteen. Behold, become aware, become conscious. I have given unto you. He didn't say I will give you. Because there are many people who or don't understand jurisdiction. But they are hoping that they will have to do something for God to now give. Them those authorities. And the moment said and knows you are thinking like that. You are victim. They want to cast out devils, they want to pray for the sick. They want to they are engaged in batu. And they want to do something to be given the authority they already have. At the end of the day, they become casualties.
