Beloved. We are living in days when people are no longer ashamed of sin, they are proud of it. They parade rebellion against God in the streets. They legislate immorality, They mock holiness and exalt wickedness. And the Bible has a word for this condition, a raprobate mind. Romans One tells us that when men refuse to retain God in their knowledge, he gives them over. That is not freedom, that is judgment. What we are witnessing in the Western world today is not progress. It is proof that God has handed a people over to their own destruction. When we open the pages of romans Ie, we are confronted with a reality that cuts straight through every age, every nation, and every culture. Paul tells us that when men reject God, when they refuse to glorify Him as God or give him thanks, something profound happens. Their thinking becomes futile and their hearts are darkened. This is not just a matter of ignorance, It is a deliberate exchange. They know God, but they choose not to honor him. They see his handiwork in creation, but they suppress the truth and unrighteousness. This rejection of God is not neutral ground. It always leads somewhere, and where it leads his darkness. Look at the history of the Western world. Once nations acknowledge God as the ultimate authority, the very laws of society were rooted in the word of God. Courts recognize that justice was defined not by man's opinion but by God's standard. Schools taught children to read using the Bible. Families gathered around scripture and prayer. The foundation was not man's wisdom, but the truth of the Creator. That is why Western civilization flourished for so long, not because of human genius, but because of divine blessing rooted in the recognition of God's truth. But now we live in a day where that foundation has been systematically dismantled. God has been pushed out of the schools, Prayer has been banned, his word has been mocked and discarded. The very mention of Jesus in public life is treated as offensive. And what has been left in its place darkness. Because when a culture rejects God, it does not simply move on. It collapses inward into its own delusion. The reprobate mind is not an empty mind, It is a mind filled with lies, confusion, and rebellion. It is a mind that refuses to see truth because it has already chosen darkness. Think of how this plays out practically. Once God is removed as the standard, morality becomes subjective. Right and wrong are no longer fixed, but are determined by feelings, opinions, or majority vote. That is why in our day things that were once considered shameful are now celebrated. Evil is not just tolerated, it is praised, and righteousness is not just ignored, it is despised. Isaiah five and twenty warned us long ago, woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. That is the curse of rejecting God. When men exchange his truth for their own ideas, insanity follows. You see this clearly in the rise of moral confusion. People cannot even define what it means to be male or female, something so basic, so self evident in creation that even children once understood it. And yet in universities, in courts, and in legislatures, this confusion is treated as wisdom. That is what Paul meant when he said, claiming to be wise, they became fools. Human arrogance convinces itself that it has outgrown God, that it has reached a higher level of understanding. But the moment man declares himself wise apart from God, he reveals himself to be a fool. This is not just an intellectual problem. It is a spiritual problem. The rejection of God is rooted in pride. It is the same sin that caused Satan to fall, the desire to replace God with self. And when entire nations embrace that pride, the results are devastating. Darkness does not stay confined to the classroom or the courtroom. It spreads to every part of life. Families disintegrate, justice is corrupted, children are lost, and society collapses under the weight of its rebellion. The most frightening part is this God does not have to send lightning from heaven to judge such a people. The judgment is already present in the form of the reprobate mind. When men are left to their own ways, When God God removes his restraining hand and allows them to sink deeper into their chosen rebellion, that is judgment. The West is not merely on the path to destruction. It is already experiencing it. The confusion, the chaos, the moral collapse we see around us are not random events. They are the evidence that God has given this culture over to its own darkness. Beloved, we must see this for what it is. The rejection of God is not a small matter. It is not an intellectual disagreement or a cultural shift. It is the root cause of the darkness that is consuming our world. And unless there is repentance, unless there is a turning back to the God who made us, that darkness will only deepen until it swallows everything. The only light that can pierce such darkness is the truth of Jesus Christ, and without him, the reprobate mind will continue its downward spiral into destruction. Romans Chapter one. Leaves no room for confusion about what happens when God gives a people over to a reprobate mind. One of the clearest evidences is sexual perversion. The text says that men burned with passion for men and women exchanged the natural use for that which is against nature. This is not simply one sin among many. It is a sign of a society that has rejected God so completely that it distorts even the most basic and natural functions he has created. Sexuality is not an accident of biology. It is a divine design, a reflection of the Creator's purpose for mankind. When that design is twisted and mocked, it is a declaration of rebellion against the one who made us male and female. For generations, sexual immorality has been creeping deeper into Western culture. What began as whispers in dark places became open defiance, and what was once scandalous is now mainstream. The sexual revolution of the last century promised freedom, but what it delivered was bondage instead of liberty. People have become enslaved to their lusts instead of intimacy. They have embraced emptiness instead of purity. They have chosen perversion. The further society moves from God, the more it celebrates the very sins he condemns. Today, immorality is no longer just tolerated. It is celebrated. It is not only permitted, it is paraded. Entire months are dedicated to the pride of sin. Media, education, and government insist that we not only accept, but affirm and even applaud what God calls abominable. This is the madness of a reprobate mind. It is one thing to sin in secret. It is another to broadcast sin as virtue. When shame is removed and replaced with pride, that is not progress, That is judgment. Notice how scripture describes this. It says that women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. It says men burned with passion for one another. The language is deliberate. These are not cultural preferences. These are not alternative lifestyles. They are unnatural against the created order. When a society reaches the point of denying the most obvious truth that men were made for women and women for men, it reveals that reason has been abandoned. This is moral insanity, and it is the evidence that God has removed his restraining hand. But the perversion does not stop at homosexuality. Once the boundaries of God's design are cast off, there is no limit to the depravity. What began with adultery and fornication moved into pornography, into the homosexual agenda, and now into the denial of gender itself. Children are being indoctrinated to believe that they can choose their own identity, that by aslogy, does not matter, that truth is whatever they feel this is not just sin, it is cruelty. It is the destruction of young minds and bodies in the name of freedom, while in reality it is slavery to sin. This is why sexual perversion is such a clear sign of God's judgment. It destroys everything it touches. It corrupts marriage, the foundation of society. It shatters families, leaving children without stability or security. It spreads disease and despair, and ultimately, it mocks the image of God himself. For man and woman together in marriage were designed to reflect Christ and his church. When that picture is defiled, it is not only human relationships that are damaged. It is the very testimony of God's covenant that is denied. Some will argue that this is love, that two people should be free to love whomever they choose, but the Bible makes clear that love cannot exist apart from truth. Lust is not love, Rebellion is not love. True love is rooted in God's design because God himself is love. What the world calls love today is often nothing more than self indulgence dressed up in emotional language. The reprobate mind confuses passion for purity and rebellion for Romance. That confusion is evidence of judgment, not blessing beloved. We must not be deceived. The normalization of sexual sin in Western culture is not a victory for human rights. It is a sign that God has given this society over. When sin becomes law and righteousness becomes hate speech, judgment is not coming. It has already arrived. The very fact that a morality is celebrated is proof that we are under the wrath of God. And unless there is repentance, the path forward only leads to greater corruption and finally destruction. Yet even in this darkness there is hope. Paul reminded the Corinthians that some of them had been sexually immoral, some had practiced homosexuality, But he said, such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the spirit. Of our God. The Gospel has the power to deliver even from the deepest perversions of the reprobate mind. The world may celebrate sin, but the Cross still offers freedom. The culture may descend into madness, but Christ still offers sanity, purity, and redemption. That is the only hope for a people enslaved to lust. Not more pride, not more legislation, but the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. Romans One says that those who suppress the truth exchange it for a lie and begin to worship the creature rather than the Creator. This is one of the clearest evidences of a reprobate mind. Idolatry. It is not always bowing before a carved image or burning incense before a statue. Idolatry in our modern world takes the form of elevating creation above the Creator. When people reject God, they will always worship something else. Human beings were made to worship. The only question is who or what will receive that worship. And when a culture rejects the true God, it does not become atheist in practice, it becomes idolatrous. In practice. Look around at Western society. Environmentalism has been turned into a religion. There is nothing wrong with caring for the earth. We are called to be good stewards of what God has made. But when the creation becomes the object of devotion rather than the Creator, we have crossed into idolatry. People bow before Mother Earth while rejecting Father God. They will protect whales, trees, and oceans, while at the same time demanding the right to kill unborn children in the womb. They will campaign for the rights of animals while mocking the very idea of the sanctity of human life. This is not compassion, It is worship of creation, and Scripture says this is evidence of divine judgment. Another form of this idolatry is the worship of self. Our culture is obsessed with self expression, self identity, and self fulfillment. The highest virtue of the day is not holiness but authenticity, being true to yourself. But if your self is in rebellion against God, then being true to yourself is being false before your creator. This self worship explains why sexuality, gender, and even basic human roles are being redefined. People want to create their own reality and worship at the altar of self. This is nothing new. It is the same lie Satan whispered in the garden, You shall be like godd. It is the worship of the creature humanity rather than the Creator. Technology, too, has become an idol. The West boasts in its advancements, in its power to manipulate nature in its ability to reshape life. Medicine, science, and innovation are treated as saviors. People believe that with enough technology we can solve every problem, conquer death, and live without God. But no machine, no invention, no medical breakthrough will ever deal with the curse of sin. Yet the reprobate mind places its faith in science while rejecting the author of life himself. This idolatry also shows up in materialism. Wealth, possessions, and comfort are worshiped as gods. People measure their worth not by their character or obedience to God, but by the size of their house, the car they drive, or the money in their bank account. Entire lives are consumed with chasing affter things that will one day burn. Jesus warned us that we cannot serve both God and money, but the reprobate mind convinces itself that riches can satisfy. It is the worship of the created rather than the creator. The tragedy is that all these idols fail. The earth cannot save you, the self cannot redeem you, technology cannot resurrect you, money cannot buy eternal life. And yet when a society rejects God, it clings to these lies with religious fervor. That is why Paul says they are exchange the truth for a lie. They know deep down that God exists, but they choose to worship anything but him, and the result is moral and spiritual collapse. The worship of creation is not innocent, it is rebellion. It is a declaration that the Creator is not worthy of honor. That is why the wrath of God is revealed against it. A culture that bows to idols, whether they are made of stone, flesh, or ideology, has already been handed over. The madness we see in the West today is not a random cultural shift. It is the outworking of idolatry, the fruit of a reprobate mind. And yet even here the Gospel offers hope. The message of Christ calls us back to the worship of the true and living God. It calls us to turn from idols to serve the Lord who made heaven and earth. It calls us to exchange the lie for the truth, and the worship of creation for the glory of the Creator. Only when hearts are regenerated, only when men and women bow before Christ will idolatry be broken. Until then, a society that worships creation, rather than the creator will only sink deeper into madness and judgment. When God establish human society, he built it upon the foundation of the family. From the very beginning in Genesis, we see his design one man, one woman, united in covenant, raising children to fear and honor the Lord. Marriage was never a human invention. It was instituted by God himself. It was meant to be the bedrock of civilization, the environment where children could learn righteousness, where love could flourish in truth, and where society could be stabilized through godly order. But when a culture falls into a reprobate mind, it despises this design. It does not simply neglect the family, it wages war against it, and the breakdown of the family is always a sign of divine judgment. Look at what has happened in Western culture. Marriage has been redefined. What God created as a sacred covenant has been reduced to a temporary contract, easily broken whenever personal happiness wanes. Divorce has become common, leaving children wounded and confused. Instead of being a reflection of Christ's covenant with his church, marriage is treated as a social experiment subject to endless redefinition. The reprobate mind sees no problem with this, because it has rejected the authority of the creator, who established marriage in the first place. Beyond that, gender itself, the very building blocks of family has been attacked. God created mankind, male and female with distinct roles and purposes. The man was designed to lead, provide, and protect. The woman was designed to nurture, support, and bring life together. They reflect the image of God. But now, in the madness of a reprobate culture, these distinctions are mocked. Fathers are portrayed as unnecessary, mothers are belittled, and children are raised in confusion. This is not. Progress, It is rebellion, and rebellion against God's design always produces destruction. The fruit of this rebellion is everywhere. Fatherlessness has become a plague in the West. Children grow up without guidance, discipline, or love. Crime increases, schools collapse, and entire generations lose their way. The statistics prove what the Bible has always said. When fathers abandon their role, chaos follows. Yet society does not repent. It doubles down, insisting that family can be whatever anyone wants it to be. This is not wisdom. It is the insanity of a reprobate mind. Consider also the attack on children themselves. In the reprobate culture, children are no longer seen as blessings, but as burdens. Millions of unborn babies are sacrificed on the altar of convenience in the name of choice. This is perhaps the greatest evidence of judgment. A culture so hardened that it celebrates the destruction of its own offspring. God said children are a heritage from him, But a reprobate society despises that heritage. Instead of raising up a godly generation, it destroys it before it even has a chance to live. Even for the children who are born, the assault continues. They are indoctrinated from the earliest age to reject God's design. Schools teach them to question their gender, to embrace perversion, to doubt the very truth of Scripture. Instead of being taught wisdom and righteousness, they are groomed into confusion and rebellion. This is the curse of rejecting God's order, the destruction of the next generation. When the family is dismantled, society itself is doomed. What we are witnessing is not random cultural decline. It is the direct result of rejecting God's design for the family. The reprobate mind hates what God loves. It tears down the very structure that sustains civilization. And when marriage is destroyed, when gender is blurred, when children are abandoned, and the end is always collapse. This is why Rome fell, This is why every great empire has crumbled. When the family goes, the nation goes with it, and the West is no exception. Yet even in this darkness, there is hope in Christ. The Gospel restores families. It calls men back to their role as godly leaders, women to their role as faithful nurturers, and children to obedience. It restores dignity to marriage, purity to sexuality, and value to children. Where the reprobate mind brings destruction, the renewed mind in Christ brings restoration. The solution is not found in social programs, government policies, or cultural reforms. The only hope is repentance, turning back to the God who created the family, and honoring his design once again. Without this, the collapse will continue and judgment will only grow heavier. Romans. One does not only speak of idolatry and sexual perversion. It also paints a grim picture of how sin spreads through every part of society. Paul lists envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossip, arrogance, disobedience, and brutality as the fruit of a reprobate mind. When a culture turns away from God, it not only loses its moral compass, it begins to glorify violence and corruption. What should be shameful becomes entertainment. What should be punished becomes normalized. What should griev us becomes the very thing people applaud. This is the sickness of a people under judgment. Think about what entertains Western society today. Movies, music, television, and video games are saturated with violence, perversion, and rebellion. People laugh at wickedness, They clap for sin, They pay money to watch blood, immorality, and profanity displayed on screens. It is not only that sin exists, it is that sin has become the centerpiece of amusement. The human heart has grown so cold, so numb to righteousness, that it delights in the very things that destroy souls. When Scripture says that people not only do them, but give approval to those who practice them. It is describing our generation perfectly. The applause of sin is as wicked as the act of sin itself. Corruption has also infected leadership, from the highest levels of government to local authorities. Dishonesty and greed are rampant. Leaders promise justice but deliver oppression. They enrich themselves while the people suffer. They legislate evil and call it progress. They silence truth and promote lies. This is not a flaw in the system. It is the fruit of hearts given over to sin. A reprobate society does not produce righteous leaders. It produces leaders who reflect its corruption, and then those leaders deepen the corruption even more. It becomes a vicious cycle of rebellion feeding rebellion. This same corruption has entered the home. Children are disobedient to parents, not only because discipline has been abandoned, but because the culture itself celebrates rebellion. Entertainment glorifies the mocking of authority. Schools undermine parental influence, laws strip parents of their God given role. The result is a generation that grows up without respect for family, for elders, or for God. This is exactly what romans one warned us about when a people reject God, even the natural bonds of love and respect are dissolved. The reprobate mind knows no boundaries. It tears down everything God is built. The celebration of violence and corruption also shows up in the streets. Lawlessness spreads, riots erupt communities are torn apart. People no longer feel safe in their own neighborhoods. Justice is turned upside down. Criminals are celebrated while victims are ignored. This is not a coincidence. It is what happens when a society abandons the truth of God. Without his standard, every man does what is right in his own eyes, and when every man becomes his own God, chaos follows. It is crucial to understand that this glorification of wickedness is not a sign of health. It is a sign of judgment. God's wrath is not always fire from heaven or sudden destruction. Sometimes his wrath is simply handing people over to their own desires, removing his restraint and allowing sin to run its full course. And that is what we see today. The West is not merely flirting with destruction, It is already experiencing the wrath of abandonment. When a people cheer for wickedness and call it good, when they laugh at sin instead of mourning it, they have already been judged. But even in this darkness, the light of Christ still shines. The Gospel calls men and women out of the corruption of this world. It breaks the chains of violence, greed, and rebellion. It restores purity to the heart, honesty to the lips, and righteousness to the life. In Christ, men who once delighted in sin begin to grieve over it. Those who once corrupted others are transformed into those who spread truth. Where corruption abounds, grace abounds even more, But only for those who. Repent and believe the truth. Is this a culture that celebrates violence and corruption is headed for destruction. Judgment is already here, and greater judgment is coming. The only hope is repentance. The only cure is Christ. Without him, the applause of sin will echo all the way into hell. But with Him even the most corrupt heart can be made new. That is the hope that the west is forgotten. But it is the only hope that remains. The most terrifying aspect of Romans One is not merely the list of sins that flow from a reprobate mind. But the phrase repeated three times God gave them up. That is the language of divine abandonment. It does not mean that God lost control. It does not mean that man somehow escaped his authority. It means God, in his judgment, removes his restraining hand and allows people to plunge headlong into their chosen wickedness. That, my friends, is a far greater judgment than war, famine, or natural disaster, because when God abandons a society to its sin, that society rushes toward destruction with no one to stop it. This is exactly what we see in the West today. Men and women are not only sinin they are enslaved by sin. They no longer feel shame, they no longer sense conviction. Their consciences are seerd. What once shocked the world now barely raises an eyebrow. This is the sign that God has given them up. When evil becomes ordinary and holiness becomes strange, when wickedness becomes celebrated and righteousness becomes hated, that is the evidence of divine abandonment. It is as though God has said, if you will not have me, then have your sin in full measure. And what happens when God gives a people over. Families crumble, nations collapse, and individuals are destroyed. Without the restraining grace of God, Man's wickedness knows no end. History bears witness. The Roman Empire fell not because of lack of military strength, but because of moral corruption. Ancient Israel was carried into exile, not because Babylon was stronger, but because God gave them over to judgment. Every civilization that exalts sin above righteousness eventually faces the same fate, and the West is not immune. But here is what makes this judgment even more sobering. When God gives a people over, they do not think they are under judgment. They think they are progressing. They think they are enlightened. They think they are free. They believe their rebellion is liberation, when in reality it is bondage. They celebrate their own destruction. They wave their flags of pride, not realizing that pride goes before the fall. This is what makes divine abandonment so terrifying. It blinds the eyes, hardens the heart, and deafens the ears. It leaves a people unable to even see their need for rescue. Yet even here in the midst of judgment, God still calls individuals to himself. While a nation may be under wrath, God is still saving sinners out of it. That is why the Gospel is not just good news. It is urgent news. It is the only hope for a man or woman living in a culture that God has given over. The Gospel proclaims that though the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness, the righteousness of God is also revealed in Christ for all who believe. Where sin abounds, grace abounds more. But that grace does not come apart from repentance. A man cannot cling to his sin in Christ. At the same time he must turn from one to embrace the other. The message, then is simple but weighty. Western society is already under judgment. The reprobate mind is not a possibility for the future. It is the reality of the present. God has given this culture over. The evidence is all around us. The only question is whether you, as an individual, will be swept away in that judgment or rescued by the mercy of God. There is no middle ground. Neutrality is not an option to remain silent is to side with the rebellion. So hear this. If you find yourself still convicted by sin, still troubled by the wickedness around you, that is God's mercy. That means He has not given you over. Do not waste that mercy. Run to Christ while there is still time. Repent before your heart grows hard, Believe before your conscience grows cold. Surrender before God's hand of restraint is removed from you personally. Because once He gives you over, apart from his miraculous intervention, you will not return. That is the terror of the reprobate mind. It is not only sinning, it is being unable to even desire repentance. That is the judgment already at work in the west. But the hope of Christ remains for all who will turn to him today. The warning is clear, the evidence is undeniable, and the call is urgent. Repent, believe, and be saved before it is too late.
