Walking in Love towards Others

We have been on a series dealing with the subject of love, and I took our time to share with you. Three critical components of the subject. The first component is what I captured under the umbrella of our love towards God. I taught you what it meant to love the Lord. I showed you from scriptures the blessings of loving the Lord. And I also give a softer warning. I said, it's a dangerous thing to leave working on the face of the earth not loving the Lord. The Bible said in First Korenthians sixteen, verse twenty two is that if you love not the Lord, he say, you are anathema maranata. So those who don't love God, they are like cost beings waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ. I told you there are three very dangerous places to be on earth, because the most dangerous places on earth are not even the war froms. The most dangerous place to be on. Earth is to be outside of God's presence, is to be outside of God's will, and is to be outside of God's love. And unfortunately many believers have taken this three for granted. You moth make sure to walk in the consciousness of the presence of the Lord. You must make sure to walk always in the will of the Father. And you must make sure to walk always both loving the Lord and receiving the love of God is too critical. So I showed us what it meant to love God, and also took time to show us what the love of God towards us represents, because I told you many times. We are quick. To think love is just about feelings, but when we are doing business in the realm of God, we are operating at the heart level of love. They are four Greek words for love. The first is IROs. That's not necessarily in the Bible, but it speaks of romantic connection, and of course we always pay attention to it because God created us to leave and also to express that level of feeling towards ourselves within the context of marriage, so it's important to understand that aspect of love. The second word for love is the word felio, and he speaks of friendship. The third word for love is the words talgging, and it speaks of companionship. So the love between a husband and a wife has a component of iras there's a romantic dimension to it. The love between two friends is filio. And then the love you experience between family is talking. It's a love that is build from a bonding that exists beyond feelings. And that's why family relationship. You may be quarreling with your brother, but there is a connection you can't explain. Sometimes people are don't keeping moneys with their loved ones and then they hear that the person is dead and they start crying. They start trying to reach out because there's a bond that is beyond feelings. In fact, when you lose a loved one, it's like a weight on your chest. It's not a feeling, that is a connection that is deep. That's why that love always draw you to live in a muture relationship. Praise God. But the love we're dealing with here is beyond IROs. It is beyond feel you. It's beyond dogging. We are dealing with the God kind of love, and are guppy that's the kind of love we are dealing with here. Whether you are expressing it towards God, or God is expressing it towards you, or you are expressing it to one another, it has to be rooted in the gapic context. And I'm going to define its chemologically from Scripture and the Lawyer. But it's important for. You to pay attention to these teachings. You already saw the enormous blessings captured from scriptures. As we're dealing with the love of man towards God, and as we're dealing with the love of God towards man. One thing that I found very critical when I was dealing with the love of God towards us is the aspect where I dealt with how to receive that love, because there are many people who don't know. How to receive the love of God. God loves us. You remind that in one verst three days with an ever lasting love. In epicience that the two verse four the Bible say God loves us. We take great love. So God loves us so greatly and soever lasting that if we don't receive it, we have lost out. So you have to master how to receive the love of God. Praise God. And you also have to develop yourself and train yourself to work loving God all the days of your life. There are too many blessings attached. The cross of the love of God to us is captured in the cross of Jesus Christ. When God gave Jesus. It defined all of the dimensions of his love. And we are also taken time to deal with that subject very thoroughly. So I'm not going into it, especially that we don't have time. But this evening I want to deal with the tod aspect of this teaching with brother us on love for humanity, the way God aspects us to love ourselves. You know, you can say you love God, and you know God loves you. But you see what substantiates the love of the love you have for God is actually expressed in the love you have for another person. In Best John chapter four, if you read verse twenty to twenty one, the Bible told us that it's not really sincere if we claim to love God when we don't love our brothers and sisters. That we see If a man say I love God and hated his brother, he's a liar. He's therefore he that loved not his. Brother whom he had seen. How can he love God whom he has not seen. So it's important for us to express love and the love of God towards one another. And I want to show you four critical things about love. The first is reasons why the Bible places so much emphasis on love. So I will show you ten critical reasons why the Bible. Places so much emphasis on the subject of love. And then the second thing I'll do tonight is to define love, to show you what the Bible means when the word love is used. You know, I was sharing with you humorously that you need to understand these truths from God's perspective. And I use illustration of man and woman. What a man considers to be loved is different from what a woman consider us to be loved. If you study efficients at the five from verse twenty one to verse twenty five, you will see that the Bible told us that what a man considers to be loved honor, respect, and submission. So, no matter what you tell a man, I. Love you, you in fact, sometimes because he's busy about life, if you keep telling him you love him, you'll become a news. A man is not so moved when you keep telling him I love you, I love you. He's thinking about making money, meeting. The needs of everyday life. If you want to prove to a man that you love him, just submit to his authority because he doesn't want to fight out out there and still come home and be fighting. When he comes home. He wants peace, and the only way you can have peace is to submit to his authority. He was created a leader. So the Bible say, wives, submit yourselves to your own husband. That's what your husband considers love. And then what a. Woman considers to be loved is not submission. If you submit to a woman, they will think you are weak. She'll be ritated. Women want men that can lead. Them because they are looking for security. So you don't come to a woman you know the worst in culture. Baby, baby, baby, So that's your business. But a woman, a woman is to give or a leader who can give us security. So when a woman is befinding love, before she thinks feeling, she's thinking security. And the only way she can guarantee that the security for her is when she sees you express what you call love in the likeness of sacrifice and self denial. So the Bible says the man should love. His wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for the church. So no matter what you tell a woman, because some of you who are trying to get married keyed with wars, you call around eleven pm when she's dozenough and you are saying sweet things so that your world would spell into a trance. Those days, we used to hear things like, I'm the only mospital on your nets. What do I need mospital in my network? I'm the sugar in your tea. Don't be sugar. I can buy sugar with ten Mira. I need you to be something more than sugar. When a woman says he's looking for love, she's looking for security, and her definition of security is sacrifice and self denial. That's why while a man does not expect a woman to really do anything for him as it were, if she does, it is grateful. But if you're coming to visit a man, he stopped thinking what. Did you bring? No, But when you are visiting a woman, she's checking your hand, checking what did you bring? Even if she's a billoonnia, she want you to give up because she wants to see the measure of your sacrifice. She's looking for sacrifice your people. So when you find out talking about care attention, all she is looking for is the peace of you. Because a definition of love is self denial, is sacrifice. So you can say anything you want to say if she doesn't feel sacrificed from you. As far as she's concerned, you are not your serios. So you find women who have two three people calling them and saying all kinds of things when their friends ask them, how about this person? There's no serious persons? Why is there not serious? He has not brought anything. I've not seen a sacrifice. So when you are studying the subject, you need to understand what it is from the plane of the one. That substantious the reality. And because we are studying love under God, we need to understand what God it has love to be. And so I want to show. You ten critical emphasis that God places on love that makes love very critical and important. Then number two I will show you the biblical definition of love. And then number three I will show you how to express love towards and not that person. I've already shown you how to express love towards God. I told you to love God is to obey him and say, if you love me, keep my commandment before you start crying and weeping. You know we cry, but over and about crying and weeping. They prove that you love me, is that you want you keep my commandment. If you are not obeying me, if you like, let your eyes become red. I don't know what you're doing. So we've seen ten ways of loving God. Now I'm going to show you how to love one another. And then when I'm done with that, I will also show you the blessings of walking in love, because all of these dimensions have unique blessings attached to them. So quickly. Why is love important from biblical perspective? There are ten critical reasons have extrapolated from scriptures that make love important from God's perspective. Number one, in biblical terms, love is very important because love is not a feeling. Love is the nature and the essence of God. So everywhere people express love, it is it's symbolic and it's representative of the fact that God's nature has colonized them. When you express love is a sign that you belong to God and that God has colonized you. So love is a way of expressing God's DNA is a proof that God has dominion over a man. Man has been colonized and conquered, and he has become an embodiment of divine essence and divine nature. First Johns of the point As eight and sixteen. The Bible said, he the love that not know it not God. I know you can quote a thousand scriptures. But the proof that you know God before you tell me about your encounters in the todd heaven. The proof that you know God is that love is expressed through you. If anybody who does not express love does not know God. These are definite emphasis. You see, the God is not meansing words. You find people quote that scriptures in ten seconds ten minutes, but when the issues of life come up, you can't see love. Verse sixteen, he says God is love and him that duel let in love, duel let in God. That's why I say love is critical. Is a proof that you have been colonized by God. Your carry is DNA and your manifest is DNA. You can't claim you are God's child, you are God's own if you still don't have love, and you can't express love. Number two, why is love critical? From biblical context? Of all the virtues in God, the Bible says, love is the greatest. Of all the virtues. Now, when the man becomes like God, he models God's character. He manifests God's virtues. But the Bible is telling us, fast Coritians that think thirteen, that of all the virtues of divinity, he said, love is the greatest, and as well be starting today, you always see that love is actually an embodiment of all divine virtues. That's why love is the greatest. Every other virtue is packed and passul of love. Love is the embodiment of divine virtue. He said. Now buy that faith, hope, and love. Charity is love. He said these three. Now by that, faith, hope, and love, he said, is three. But the greatest of this is love. Of all these virtues, love is the greatest. Remember, the Bible said, we work by faith, not by sensory perception. The jos that live by faith. So the path for our life and existence is faith. But it's telling you although you live by faith, in fact, he says, without faith, he proves the level six it's impossible to please God. That's how important faith is is. But of all these virtues, love is the greater. That's why Galatians five six selves is that it will fait work yet by love, because love is greater. So a man who does not have love has not yet come into the greatest or the. Best of God. Glossians three fourteen. The Bible told us, above all us we should apprehend and lay hold of charity. Above all these things, put on love. He the love is the bond of perfectness. Anybody that has loved has come into perfection. He has become like God. Where we study and you see again that the Bible said love is the fulfillment of the love. So anybody who works in love. Has attained perfection to the standards and the degree of God himself. It's a love is the bond of perfectness. Number three WHI is love very important? The Bible said love is the fulfillment of the law. That means love for marises the entire moral requirements of God, all of the moral requirements of God. When the man starts working in love, he has fulfilled all. If you work in love, you cannot air a para. Morality is concerned. In fact, love is the true essence of righteousness. A man who does not have love is not a righteous man. It is the formation of divine moral standards. That's why the Bible, speaking in Romance sat. In Western a cause love the fulfillment of the law. In Galatians five fourteen is said, all the. Law is fulfilled in one world if you love your brother and your sister. So the love of God is not primarily don't mother, don't covert, don't commit a daughtery. The love God is actually working love, because if you work in love, you will murder. How can I kill you if I love you? If you're work in love, you can't picure it. Why you find people who are looking for people to punicate with touch their sister or touch their daughters, you well understand that they know what they're doing is wickedness. A man is in the hotel with. A young girl, it's the year he's expressing love. You. They express that kind of love with your daughter, you will find a man become a lion frowning. He's angry what he's doing to somebody has his daughter. He doesn't want somebody else to do to his own daughter, So he knows what he's doing. It's not love's wickedness. He has not gain mastery over his appetite. So when his appetite begins to remote him, he can aplet evil orders. But when a man walks in love, he doesn't need a law. The law is necessary. Were there no love, were love is activated, love has no use, Love has no use. Praise God. I'm showing you why love is so important. To God and why we must learn it, receive it, and work in it. Number four White love so important. Love is the identifying mark of true discipleship. If you like sleeping church, stay here for thirty years, comes to service before everybody is good. But you are not a disciple. Quote scriptures win so praying tongues for ten hours. If you don't have love, you are not yet a disciple. Because you can do all of those things for many reasons, and most of those reasons can be mundane. I've seen people who pray for six months. You think they're on fire for God is a lie there looking for a wife. They are doing transaction with God. They are looking for a husband. They are looking for a job, business crash. They want restoration. The moment they get what they are looking for prayer. And I've seen people serving God. You say, oh, see humility, see love for God. They are mopping the toilet. In fact, there is fire orders and they catch a fire for service. But guess what is ariness? They are fighting? This variness must go. I must give back to my child. The moment child comes, it throws. Them up away. So you are not yet a disciple because you are doing activity. You are disciple when your motive is pure. You are disciple when you are motivated by love. Where there's no love, there can be no disciple. Shit. In John thirteen thirty four to thirty five, Jesus said, by this by deed, not by many signs. By this particular time, he says, all men know that you are my disciples if you love one another, if you love We can treat many markers of disciples, but their secondary. The one true mark of a true disciple is that he has come into the. Life and the expression of love. The Bible study in First John three fourteen, we know we are passed from death to life. If we love the brethren, you are not yet of God. You are not yet a disciple of Christ. If what you are doing is not motivated by love. I will show you a few scriptures past that a man can give his body to be burned for selfish reasons. That means some people we. Call matterires and not matterires. Can you imagine that? Do you know the pain of death? Somebody can withstand the pain of death and live this word and his motives and all right, But that I can speak in terms of angels. If I don't have love, it profits me not. So it's possible for somebody to be operating in cutting edge dimension of spiritual gifts, and yet God does not approve of him because there's no love. If this love is that important, then you should not only have it, but work in it. Praise God. So why is love important to God? It's important to God because it is the mark that you belong to him and that he has trained you. That he has this. I put you so before God calls a man, this is my own. It means that man truly is working in love. So the visible evidence of salvation is love. If gift things can be done outside of God, then even give things are not a complete trooth of salvation. I know the Bible said these signs, follow them that believes but post that I can do. Signs speak in terms of angels, raise the dead. If I have no love, I'm not in That means it's only when gifts is done by one who is in love that true salvation can be guaranteed you. So the visciful mark of one who is truly saved and has been discipled is love. In manifestation number five, why is love important? Love is what gives value to spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts have no value except as they are done or manifested in law. Let's be first Courentian thirteen, verse one to four. Know we love walls of knowledge, we love miracles. I don't pray to enter because sometimes when people say some things about Christianity, I just want to go and sit somewhere. I say, bring all the all the things that should be done to prove to you that God is really They should put five dead people here, put twenty people which he has put blind people. Put then I will wave my hand. Let all of them. Let the arguments talp once and for all for points. Then even if you have those powers and. You can manifest at will. Now, the reason why even though we see miracles, we can't do those things is because sometimes when you want to even do it, God. Who resists you. It's not yourmanship. Do as I lead you. So there are many nothings in the body of Christ, nothings organized in cruise. Spades and raising the dead. They are in the spirit. They are nothing. And in the realm of God is nothing. So why is love important? It is a justification for spiritual gifts. It's what gives value to spiritual gifts. Your gift things are useless if you don't have love. If your life raised the death you like, prophesied your life, know the words of knowledge on it. Give one thousand people word of knowledge. If there's no love, of course, that is nothing. Number six White love so important. Love is the proof of maturity. Any believer who doesn't have love, no matter what he says or does, he's an immature Christian. You can compose yourself. You can manifest great gifts. You see, babe, in Christ. The proof that we are. Growing, and that we have grown, is that we start working in love. You're so already in Colossians three fourteen is that love is the bond of perfectness. Love where the man loves, he has come into maturity. First Corinthians one, verse six to eight, and First Corinthians three, verse one and two. Look at the surprising thing about the Corinthian church. Paul was speaking about them speaking to them, and it's that the testimony of Christ was confirmed in them. Next verse it said they come short in no gift. There is Paul thought about the gift of the spirit in the church in corinth Is because that's where they manifested did the most, and. That's where they also abuse did the most. It's that you come short in no gift. Eagerly waiting for the revelation of Christ, they were telling God, come, we want to go back to heaven. If you go to the church in Chorene. If you stirty at Christians chapter four, I've taught you here before that thirteen to seventeen, you are gonna see the seven layers of spirit to our maturity. The highest is love. The moment the man attains love, the next import said is that he grows. Into Christ in all things. Look at it. Okay, let's read that's the level. Then we leave thirteen. So a man who is working in love has exemply hide Christ when it shows up. He's exactly like Jesus. That's why post that in First Christians eleven one follow me as I follow Christ. So if you see me, you are seeing him. John said in First John first and mundine. As he is, so are we in this world. So the reason love is critiqual to God, it is because. Love is the proof of our maturity. If we are not working in love, we can know the Bible genetist to revelation, we can manifact gifts, we can know mysteries. But we are see babes and we can see the canal. And on spiritual you need to see some of the people who man I first giftings. When service is over, they'll be talking ten minutes after service. You'll be shocked. Some things are not for the public. But if you know what certain people standing on this pulpit, that they are pretty the gospel. If you know what they do, what they say, if you there, they are not my gathering, you'll be shocked. You who is a believer, it will be a least to mingle with them. A pert, No, I won't go there. This why God considers love to be critical, because it is what bond binds us together. Other love binds us together. Who are you to talk to me? One now has money, the other one has fame, the other one has more as the visibility or acceptance. The other one has the gift. The moment they start being blessed, the blessing becomes the reason for their division. So a blessing now becomes a cost in the congregation. Where there's no love. I know what I'm preaching now, some of you are saying those people out there is here. Enter this choir, you will see whys on dimensions have not rested on us? Fast and pray forty days? I didn't pursue any of them. If I had the opportunity to meet them, I would rush at it and honored them. But they caught for me. But the reason they did was because many years ago I interceded for them. Now, when I have a challenge, they can't rest. Some call me to pray for me. They come me to bless me. They call me to give me instructions. That's the power of love. You express love by praying for others, and finally, because of time, you express love by seeking the good of orders above self. When you seek your own good, you are using people. But when you seek the good or orders above yourself, you are loving them. First Corinthians tent toy Bole said, let no man seek his own, but. Every man, and not the man's best or wealth. In Philippians two three and four is they let nothing. Be done is a look, not every man on his own thing, but let everyone look on and not that one thing, And let nothing be done through strife of being glory. This is how you express law. The Bible said, why we were yet sinners? Christ died for us. So whatever anybody has done to you, I want to help you relieve that yoke. Right there where you are seated, open your hand to the Lord asking to help you. I know it may be. Tell you some of you were ripped at ten that age. You were five, you were seven, you were ten, and uncle, a father repped you. You have carried that body for twenty years. It's time to let go. Some of you.
