Understanding the Bible - Unlearn to Learn

The Bible is more than a book. It's not a talisman, a lucky charm, or a ward to keep the devil away. It's also not a historical record or a textbook. The Sacred Scriptures of Christianity are more than all of these things. To reduce them into any of these categories would be a terrible mistake. Fundamentalism is an unhealthy ditch in our approach to Scripture, but the opposing ditch of biblical flippancy any ignorance is just as unbalanced. We have a 2000 year tradition of approaching apocalyptic literature, poetry, historical narrative, epistle, and even books that don’t fit neatly into any one category that is life giving, hopeful, and allows the Holy Spirit to bring revelation to the individual AND the community at large. Join Pastor Aaron as we lay a foundation for interacting with the Living Word in a way that honors where we’ve come from, and where we’re going.
