That's not how God thought of earth. 0:07:45.240 --> 0:07:47.400 And the way that we talk about ourselves isn't how 0:07:47.400 --> 0:07:51.000 God thinks of us either. God doesn't categorize us. I 0:07:51.000 --> 0:07:54.520 hate to break this to you by ethnicity. God doesn't 0:07:54.560 --> 0:07:58.400 categorize us. In Christ. There's neither j nor gentile, male 0:07:58.440 --> 0:08:01.240 nor female. That doesn't mean we're not different. That means 0:08:01.240 --> 0:08:04.880 that our core identity is not determined by something external. 0:08:07.120 --> 0:08:09.960 So in Christ, I have a new nature. It 0:08:49.000 --> 0:08:51.640 just blew my mind that I've always read about this 0:08:51.679 --> 0:08:55.760 woman's persistence. She pressed through the crowd to get to Jesus. 0:08:56.240 --> 0:08:59.320 I've always studied about her intention if I can just 0:08:59.440 --> 0:09:02.120 touch the this garment, and I think all of that 0:09:02.200 --> 0:09:07.520 is important, but I never realized it was about her identity. 0:09:08.240 --> 0:09:12.800 The Bible says that she set her intention and she 0:09:12.840 --> 0:09:19.720 took action, and in verse twenty eight, it says that 0:09:19.800 --> 0:09:23.600 she was healed first of all because she thought, I know, 0:09:23.679 --> 0:09:26.120 you've already watched the sermon five times since last weekend 0:09:26.120 --> 0:09:28.320 because you loved the word of God, and you memorized 0:09:28.320 --> 0:09:31.839 Philippians too. But just for those who hadn't had the time, 0:09:32.160 --> 0:09:34.560 it said she was healed because she thought and always 0:09:34.720 --> 0:09:37.040 thought that she was healed because she touched and she 0:09:37.160 --> 0:09:39.320 was when she touched them. It represented faith. But there's 0:09:39.320 --> 0:09:43.760 two parts of faith. The flip side of works on 0:09:43.840 --> 0:09:49.240 faith starts with a thought and they say that every action. 0:09:49.320 --> 0:09:50.760 Let me see if I get the quote right, every 0:09:50.880 --> 0:09:54.960 action is the ancestor of a thought. No, every thought is. 0:09:55.240 --> 0:09:59.040 It's something about how thoughts I should have looked that up. 0:09:59.240 --> 0:10:01.280 It's something about I thought I had it, but I didn't. 0:10:01.520 --> 0:10:05.600 I should have looked at it. The thought is always 0:10:05.679 --> 0:10:09.920 You know, people will say, follow your feelings. She thought she got 0:10:57.720 --> 0:11:01.440 what she came for, but Jesus was working off of 0:11:01.480 --> 0:11:06.920 a different blueprint because after the issue that she came for. 0:11:07.160 --> 0:11:10.000 You know, we come to God for many different reasons, 0:11:10.040 --> 0:11:12.640 but a lot of times the reason that we come 0:11:12.640 --> 0:11:17.199 to God isn't the reason he called us. He said, 0:11:17.280 --> 0:11:19.720 my thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways aren't 0:11:19.720 --> 0:11:24.440 your ways. So God thinks higher. And a lot of 0:11:24.440 --> 0:11:27.120 the things in my life start with the phrase I 0:11:27.160 --> 0:11:30.280 never would have thought. And I don't know if she 0:11:30.320 --> 0:11:32.600 knew it, but Joanna was preaching today because she helps 0:11:32.679 --> 0:11:34.840 us on our staff. And she said, I never would 0:11:34.880 --> 0:11:37.360 have thought we'd be in an auditorium with just the 0:11:37.400 --> 0:11:39.720 staff preaching the church.
