We took part one in the morning, the Name of Jesus, Part one focusing on an inheritance, and then tonight it's a prophetic meeting, and so I want to go straight. I'm teaching on part two the Name of Jesus. Our focus is faith in the name at chapter three and verse sixteen. A quick recap. We did discuss in the morning how that the name of Jesus, according to Matthew chapter one and verse twenty one, is directly connected with salvation. I told you Jesus comes from the Hebrew word your whole Shua, where you get Joshua, it means God, our salvation. And I told you that the salvation that comes through Jesus attends to seven things. Seven things. We have received victory over seven things number one, Sin number two, Satan and demonic forces number three, death number four, Hell number five, the grave number six, the world number seven, the flesh. These are the dimensions of victory that Jesus purchased for us. And then I did tell us that there are three principal reasons why Jesus came to the earth. Number one, he came as an accurate representation of the misunderstood God. Number two he came as an extension of the life of God to us by bringing us reconciliation. And then number three, he came as a patent man, revealing for us God's idea about who the believer should be. You still remember that. Then I told us that at the point of salvation, we receive three gifts. Please do not forget this background is very important. Number one the forgiveness of sin. Number two, the gift of righteousness, and then number three the life of God. And then I told us that there are three foundational spiritual forces that must be engaged and at work in the life of any believer to work in victory. Number one, we said the Holy Spirit, the person and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls him the seal of our redemption. The Bible says he's the one who will guide us into all truth. Number two the Word of God Acts twenty and thirty two. I commend you to God and to the world of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inherit among them that are sanctified and I told you number three is his name, and that's where we stopped and had some time to pray. So I'll take it from there. Acts chapter three and verse sixteen. After Peter and John Hill the man that gets beautiful, the Jerusalem counsel summoned them. And this was Peter making defense as to the basis of the healing of the man. And he says, and his name, through faith in his name, had made this man strong, whom ye see and know. Yeah, the faith which is by him hath given this man perfect soundness in the presence of ye all Philippians. Chapter two and verse nine says, therefore, wherefore, God that so highly exalted him, say, I believe that God that also exalted him and giving him a name. And the Bible says that name is exalted above every other name, the son of God God, believe high. Singing with faith in your heart, the Son. Of God be clare be fives. Wherefore God that's so highly exalted him and giving him a name, we'll talk about that now. And the Bible says that name is above every other name that means their name. So but this name is exalted above every other name. And the Bible says that at the name of Jesus verse ten, every nie should bow of things in heaven, of things in earth and things under the earth eleven, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of the Father. Let's talk about the concept of a name. You have to understand the implication of a name. Please lend me your attention. The word name comes from the Greek word on noma. Nma sounds like a Nigerian name, but it's Greek. Are we together now? It comes from the Greek word on noma. And this is what it means. Number one, identity a name means identity. Number two, it means character, the character of the plerara of that name. Number three, it means authority. Number four, it means reputation. Then number five it means prophetic destiny. I'll take that again. That the word name from its Greek root on Noma, it captures within it a very pro odd understanding. Number one. It talks of identity. Number two, It talks of character. Number three, it talks of authority number four, It talks of reputation. Number five, it talks of prophetic destiny. So when you talk about the name of a person. Number one, it is a means to identify the person, a distinctive way of identifying the person. If I said John, I don't expect everybody to stand up. Are we together only the bearer of the name John. So a name is a system of distinctly identifying you. Number two. A name also defines the character. When we say you have a good name. It is a very intelligent way of trying to say you're a person of character. Number three authority. A name captures within it the authority or the fastness of authority of the pierra. Number four reputation. So if you hear a name like Havard, if you hear a name like Yale, if you hear a name like Oxford, are we together? If you hear a name like what else again? M? I T? And all these great you know, ivy League institutions, What comes to your mind is reputation. The name has become a brand to represent reputation. Are we together now? And then? Prophetic destiny? Prophetic destiny? Do you know that because of carelessness over a name, the Angel of the Lord, by the inspiration of the Spirit, shot the mouth of Zachariah until he agreed with the name that was consistent with the prophetic destiny of John Matthew one and verse twenty one, ye shall call his name Jesus. Ye shall call his name Jesus, because there is a prophetic destiny that he will salvage the people from their sin. Are we together? Now? So names give the encapsulate, the essence and the character of a person. Names give distinctive identification to a person. Now. A name also reveals the area of specialty and expertise. When you call a name, you are by that name revealing an area of expertise or specialty. For instance, doctor for instance, architect, for instance, engineer. When you call someone by that name, you immediately reveal an area of expertise. If you say doctor so, so, so, and so, it's safe to assume that you're a medical doctor, or at least you're a PhD holder. If you say you are an architect, architects this and that, by that attachment on your name or by that description, we know immediately that should you should be an ext pert in the matters of drawings and construction and structures. Do you understand me so far? Names also reveal a track record of consistency and growth. Do not forget this. Names reveal a track record of consistency and growth. Please look up when you hear the name general, general, so, so, so and so. That name a general in the military. Now it by itself reveals to you a track record of consistency and groove. When you have three military personnel lined up here and you call one major, you call one lieutenant, connel, you call one connel, you call one brigadier general, major general. What is the difference? They have names, but the names reprive. Then the extent of consistency and the extent of growth. You understand this. Now, names reveal a track record of consistency and growth. If you come to a corporation and you hear the name general manager, there is regional manager. Are we together? There is the general manager there. It can even be the group or whatever general manager. What's the difference the extent of growth and the consistency the track. Record that has been built over time. Oh, I'm excited about what I'm saying because something will happen to you. There is an orientation happening to you. So when you say Jesus, it will not be an empty world. Many things will combine and inform your confidence. Names reveal the extent of power and authority of its bearer. Names, like the example I gave earlier, names reveal the extent of power. So if you call someone a major in the army versus you call someone a colonel in the army versus you call someone a general, it is a disparity in rankings. Am I right on that they are all officers worthy of respect, But in the presence of all three, two have to intentionally be weak with respect to the one who is superior. Now you will understand what the Bible means by the name of both every other name. A major is a name with its own jurisdiction and ranking. The connel is a name with its own jurisdiction and ranking. But when the general arrives, regardless size, regardless how he speaks, there is a badge that signifies and all the other ranks, without being co asked, they salute, not demeaning their ranks, but acknowledging that this is a name that has been exalted above every other name. When you say I am working in the name or I am carrying the name of a person, what you are saying is that I am a beneficiary. If that is not your own name, I am a beneficiary of his reputation, a beneficiary of his track record, a beneficiary of his relationships, a beneficiary of his authority. I was discussing yesterday with my people, and we were talking about diplomatic passports, and they were giving me a little education about the advantage of an individual with a diplomatic passport at the border, for instance, a un personnel that once I hope I'm right on that as much as they taught me, once a luggage is tagged diplomatic, that there are certain you cannot prove it beyond a certain point, whether you like it or not.
