The Name of Jesus (Part 1) - The Eternal God

I'm going to be teaching on the name of Jesus in line with the theme of the conference, and I'm going to break it into a three part series, the name of Jesus, the name of Jesus, but one will be receiving the name. I want to show you something about this inheritance of the name of Jesus that we have in Light and in Christ, and then hopefully in the evening later on, will consider a few other things. Are you ready now, John Chapter one, Let's start from verse eleven to twelve. He came onto his own, and his own received him. Not verse twelve, but as many that includes Joshua Salman, but as many as received him. The Lord bless the reading of his word in the name of Jesus Christ. Now I want to lay foundation so that we understand the things that were discussing. Is I believe that the Lord placed it on my heart as a contribution. To this conference. Open our eyes to the power that is in the name of Jesus, so that we understand the concept and we're able to administer the power and the life of God that is captured within that name. And I pray the name of Jesus that God will open your eyes as you listen. Matthew, Chapter one and verse twenty one. Matthew, Chapter one and verse twenty one. It says, and she shall bring forth his son. This is prophecy now, and thou shall call his name Jesus. Someone shall Jesus, the devil didn't hear you. Your challenges, didn't hear you? It says, shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his. People from their sins. So immediately we see that the name Jesus in prophecy is connected to salvation. Allelujah. The name Jesus actually the root the Hebrew word is Yehoshua. Where you get the word Joshua, it means God who saves or the one who saves, the very name of Jesus contains within it the prophecy of salvation. The name your hoh Shua. Where you get Joshua, God our salvation or God who saves. So here the Angel is speaking, and he says that you shall call him. He's not just saying you shall identify him by this name. I will explain that later on, but that you shall call him Jesus, for he shall save the people from their sins. Alle lujah. Now, from a theological standpoint, salvation has afforded the believer in Christ an opportunity to experience victory from seven things. And I want to list it very quickly. We have been saved in Christ and given access to experience victory over seven things. Please write number one, scene number two. Are you ready? Number one, Scene number two, Death, number three, Hell, number four, the grave, number five, the flesh, number six, the world. Let me repeat it again. There are seven of them. The victory of the believer in Christ. Number one scene you have that down number two Satan, that includes the monic forces altogether, victory over scene, victory over Satan and all the monic forces. Number three, FicT three over death, number four, FicT three over Hell, number five, victory over the grave, number six, victory over the flesh, number. Seven, victory over the world. So the victory that was given to the believer in Christ is sevenfold. You have that, dumb. It is important that you understand the extent of victory that we received when we came into Christ or when Christ died and resurrected. It's not just victory over scen The sin problem can be solved. But if you do not understand. That the victory spans to every other area, you can also be a victim. Let me repeat it one last time. Sevenfold victory number one, Victory over scene number two, over Satan and demonic forces number three, victory over death number four, victory over hell number five, victory over the grave number six, victory over the flesh number seven, victory. Over the world. We have victory. Someone shout, I have victory. Say it again, say I have victory. So the name is connected to salvation number two. The name is an inheritance. Based on Hebrews chapter one and verse four, that name Jesus is an inheritance. He inherited it. Are we together now? It was the coronation service that was held in Hebrews chapter Philippians chapter two. The Bible says he was highly exalted and given a name, and that that name is above every other name that at the mention of that name. Every knee should bow of things in heaven, of things in the earth, and of things under the earth, And that every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father. He received us an inheritance that name, and in Christ, every one of us has access to the inheritance of that name. Are we following now, so do not forget my discussion Number one, that the name of Jesus is connected to salvation. Two, that that name is an inheritance. Number three, that we our victory in Christ is sevenfold. And I listened to you the seven things that the victory in Christ has brought us into victory over sin, and so on and so forth. Now, when you get saved, please lend me your attention. When you experience the new birth in Christ Jesus as a believer, when you come into Christ by declaring the lordship of Jesus over your life, there. Are three gifts that you receive. In fact, it is receiving those gifts that cause you to be a believer. Number One, The first gift that you receive upon declaring the lordship of Jesus Christ over your life is called the forgiveness of sin. Please write that down. The forgiveness of sin. The forgiveness of sin. This is very important. The forgiveness of sin Efficient Chapter one and verse seven. The forgiveness of sin, in whom we have redemption through His blood. The forgiveness of sin. Someone shout I am forgiven, not I will be shout I am forgiving. Is a subtle reality in Christ that when you came into Christ declaring his lordship over your life, the first gift that you received was the forgiveness of sin. Follow the sequence Gift number two, the gift of righteousness, The gift of righteousness Romans five and verse seventeen. The gift of righteousness. For if by one man's offense, death reign by one w more day which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign by one Jesus Christ. So we receive the forgiveness of sin, then we receive the gift of righteousness. Second Corinthians of the five and verse twenty one tells us that we are the righteousness of God. Are we together that he who he. Made it to be seen for us, who did not know sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Again, shout, I am the righteousness of God. Remember your declaration is important. Say it convincingly. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Are we together? Number three. The third gift that we receive when we come to Christ is the life of God. Chun chapter three and verse sixteen says, for God soul loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son, that whosoever believed on him should not perish, but have life everlasting. First John, chapter five and verse thirteen. First John Chapter five and verse thirteen, it says, these things I have written onto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that he have eternal life. Say have eternal life. Shout it, say have eternal life, And that he may believe on the name of the Son of God. So three gifts that we receive when we come into Christ. The moment is sinner declares the lordship of Jesus over his or her life. This miracle, this threefold miracle, happens immediately you receive the forgiveness of sin. Then it grants you access to receiving the righteousness of God. And then it paves way to receive the life of God. You cannot have the life of God except you have righteousness equal to that of Jesus. And you cannot receive the righteousness of Jesus until you are sinless. You get the progression. So the forgiveness of sin makes way to receive the righteousness of God. In Christ makes way to receive the life of God. Are we learning now? Hopefully by the evening, I'll take a time to just portress a bit on the three major assignments of Jesus. Maybe I should just list it for you in brief and then we'll go into the core of my discussion. There are three major reasons why Jesus came to the earth. It's important you know this. If you don't know Thise, you will never be able to work in victory. Three major reasons why Jesus came to the earth. Number one, Jesus came to the earth as an accurate revelation or manifestation of the misunderstood God. He came as an accurate revelation of the miss understood God. The meaning of that is that until Jesus showed up, no man had it thorough and accurate understanding of God. We had to depend on the lens of prophets. Are we together and those who served in priesthood and the prophetic to help us make sense of who God was? And many of them sincerely made mistakes. They saw him part and saw their interpretation of God. I had a lot of errors and shortcomings. Are we learning now? So Jesus came as a marking script. He came to correct everything the prophets have told us about God. That everything the prophets, no matter which prophet Isaiah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus came as God personifive colloss after one fifteen and. Sixteen, just write it. We are not necessarily reading it. He came as an accurate revelation of the misunderstood God. Number two. The second reason why he came to the earth was to make the life of God accessible to all men by reconciling them to God. Don't forget this. The second reason why Jesus came to the earth was to make the life of God what you call eternal life, the way to make it accessible to all men, and that was achieved by reconciling men through his death. This is the second reason why he came. John ten ten, says the thief comeent not but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy. It says, but I am come that ye may have life, and that you have that life more abundantly, shout I have life, shouted against her, I have life. Hallelujah, very profound truth. When you read Efficient chapter two, from verse fourteen and fifteen. Efficient Chapter two, fourteen and verse fifteen, it says, for his peace, Hallelujah, who had made one and had broken down the middle wall of partition between us fifteen and having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of the commandments contained in ordinances, for to make in himself twain of one man. So making peacey came to reconcile us, to break the world between Jew and gentile away together, that we become one family named under the name of God. The third reason why Jesus came to the earth was to be a patent man, a partent man, a model of God's idea and expectation for the believer. A model of God's idea and expectation for the believer. I hope you know that when God sees any man saved or unsaved, there is a picture there is a project that God has in his heart. Away together now, and that when God came in the form of Jesus incarnate, God incarnate, he came to reveiel God's expectation a pattern. Man, he said, as he is, he says, so are we. He came as a pattern for us. Someone say pattern. Many of you have seen an estate, an. Estate that has lots of houses, and some of the houses look similar. Have you seen that kind of thing? The reason why replication is easy is because there is an architectural pattern. How many of you know that this tent as exact as it is here. If you can give the pattern, you can replicate it in any state and any ground at all. So much so that if you were blindfolded and carried away and they open your eyes, you will not even know that you are in another place that is a replica of this. Are we together now? So Jesus came as a pattern. This is very important. How he lived, the way he did the things that he did. It was not just him living on earth. He was showing you a picture. Now, when you get saved, it's important for you to know that you are part of a bigger project that God has. He calls it the hope of his calling, that when God saved you, he saved you for a reason, and that hope is that you attain onto sonship by experience, because an air force, as long as it's a child, he differed not from a slave, even though he be Lord of all. Are we together? Now? This is very important. Now let's take it a little further. Haven't established why Jesus came and the three four gifts that we received at the point of salvation. My concern for this morning or afternoon is to help you see that there are three fundamental spiritual forces that must be at work in the life of a believer to work in victory and dominion. Three three from the mental spiritual forces. The moment you get born again, you are exposed to this three from the mental spiritual forces, and if they are absent in your life, then you will never be able to attain statcho and dominion in the Kingdom. Are you ready now? Number one is the Holy Spirit. Please write it down, the Holy Spirit. John chapter sixteen, from verse twelve and thirteen. When you get saved, you are given the gift and you you are introduced officially to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I have many things to say unto you. Jesus is speaking now, but ye cannot bear them. Verse thirteen. How be it when he the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth? How many truth? Guide you into all truth? For he shall not speak of himself, But whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak. And he will show you things to come. The Holy Spirit Romance, Chapter eight and verse nine. This is the first spirit you, a force that must be available in the life of any believer who intends to work in dominion. He said, But he are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you, read. The last verse. If you can see it else, are ready for your the last sentence? Ready want to go now. If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. If you do not have the Spirit of God living in you, the Bible says, you do not belong to him. The spirit of the Living God. Are we learning efficients after four and verse thirty. The Holy Spirit, it says, creeds not the only spirit of God. Whereby ye are sealed. You were sealed, you know for those of us who practice law. When you get a document, if it's an authentic document, there usually. Is a seal on it. It is called a seal of authenticity. It helps people to see that this document is valid. Are we together now? You can use it to know whether it was a fake document or an original document. The Bible says God use the Holy Spirit to seal every believer that the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is a validation that you truly belong to the Lord. Whether you feel like it or not. It is a subtled reality. Someone say I am sealed, sealed with the Holy Ghost. Number two. The second spiritual force funda mentally that you need in your life to experience victory and dominion, is called the world. The Word of God Acts chapter twenty and verse thirty two. And now I commend you, brethren, onto God and to the world of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance. It is the Word of God that builds you up and gives you an inheritance among them that are scientified. Second Timotea, Chapter three and verse fifteen. The Word of God, the Logos of God, a revelation of the ways of God. And that from a child, nou hast known the Holy scripture which are able to make thee wise onto salvation through faith, which is in Jesus Christ. I hope I've not lost you. Three fundamental forces that every believer must receive and walk in to experience victory and dominion number one again the Holy Spirit. Number two, the Word of God. Number three leads us to a discussion the name of Jesus, the name of Jesus, John chapter sixteen, twenty three, and twenty four. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Jesus is speaking prophetically. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, the Father, but in my name, It says. He will give it you Mark chapter sixteen. Or hithertoor let's finish it up hither or ye have asked for nothing? In my name, it says, ask, and ye shall receive that your joy might be full Mark chapter sixteen, please and verse seventeen. Mark sixteen and verse seventeen. Can you see it. Let's shout it together, one to read. And these signs shall follow them that believe ahah in my name. In my name, they shall speak with new tongues next verse eighteen. In my name they shall take up serpens. If they drink any deadly thing in my name, it shall not hurt them. In my name, they shall lay hands on the sick. In my name they shall recover. Someone say, I believe in the name. Add chapter three and verse six. This was the I like this my God. See, Peter knew that he was not a noding repressing. He knew that a gift was given to him, and that the gift was not just the life of God. The gift was not just the Holy Spirit. The gift was not just the word of God, but that the name had now become his inheritance in Christ. When he met the man at get Beautiful, listen to the discussion, Peter said, silver and gold. Have I known, But such as I have. Give id in the name of Jesus Christ, I have it. It's an inheritance. It's a gift. It was given to me. I am a prosessor. Are we together now I can engage that name. He was telling the man that I can't guarantee that I have silver and gold. If you depend on me on silver and gold, you may be disappointed. But I have a name, it says, the name of Jesus Christ. Rise up and walk. The name of Jesus Christ I have it is a gift and inheritance. And then when we get to verse sixteen, the same scripture ants chapter three from verse sixteen. In fact, let's start from verse fifteen. ASTs chapter three and verse fifteen. If you're following me, shout amen, so it says, and they kill the Prince of life. He's making defense as to the miracle that had happened. Now whom God had raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses, shout verse sixteen together, and his name, through faith in his name had made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yeah, the faith that is by him had given this man perfect soundness. In the presence of you, all believer, us are not empty. Many of us are conscious of some things we were given, but not conscious of others. I tell you the truth. Although many believers shall Jesus, most people do not know the power that is containing that name, and they do not know that it's a gift and an inheritance. I'll be teaching you what the name means. I'm just introducing for you the forces. If you find those open in the life of a man. Ladies and gentlemen, if you see people move from one dimension of glory to the other, it's because they have learned to engage the forces they were given. It would be evil of God to place certain demands upon us and not give us the tools that will lead to that victory. He gave us a holy spirit. He gave us his word. But he also gave us his name. He gave us his name. I'll be teaching you in the night that the name of a man is very powerful, because you see, if you are great, without your name being great, nobody else can inherit your victory. He told Abraham you will be great. I will make you great and make your name. It is not only you who will be great alone. Your name will also be great. Are we together now? God gave us his name. Somebody saying, have his name shouted against her? Have his name. It is by that name that demons tremble. It is by that name that doors open. It is by that name that much happens in the kingdom. It is by that name that is the order city that the believer has. That I have been given a name. Are we together now, that every time you mentioned that name. Listen with revelation, you can mention it out of a ritual in the name of Jesus, like many do. They chanted like a genie in the name of Jesus and nothing happens. The reason is because there is a motus or parandi to engaging the name. Knowing that you have the name is profitable, but knowing how to use the name. I'm reminded of my own story, how that I went through all kinds of oppressions, even as a man of God, and I shouted Jesus. Jesus helped me and nothing happened. You know. The sons of Skiva shouted Jesus too, so it was not just about chanting the name. They said, we are j Are you in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches, And the demon said. No, it doesn't work that way. Jesus. I know Paul, I know, he says, who are you? The demons did not seem to respect the name. Let me speak to someone in the name of Jesus Christ by the power that raised Christ from the dead, beginning from today, the name will work one that's in your life. The name will work one that's in your finances, one that's in your health, one that's in your ministry. In the name of Jesus Christ, please be seated. So we have been given access to his name. Now, I hope you know not everybody can use the name. No, not everybody can use the name. There is a certain condition in the spirit that must be met for that name to work for you. One of it is that you must be in Christ. That's why Jesus told them, he said, he that told you have not asked anything in my name, he says, but a time will come. And when that time comes, be at liberty to ask the Father anything in my name and be rest assured that he would do it. You can ask him anything and be rest assured that you will do it. You can ask anything and be rest assured that you would do it. How do you look at someone with cancer, ladies and gentlemen, how do you look at someone with HIV? You look at someone with some kind of incurable disease already concluded by medicine that this thing has no cure, and yet you tell the person there. Is hope for you. And the hope is not some fabrication from medicine. I want to introduce a name like a drug to your life. And when you say in the name of Jesus that there is a reaction in the realm of the spirit. Most believers have not understood the power that is in that name. There are two ministers of the Gospel that help me understand the power that is in the name of Jesus. Number one is Kenneth Hagen. Kenneth Hagen. Number two is E. W. Kenyon. He opened us up to the understanding of that name that the name was not designed to be chanted like a champ. You chanted like a champ as a religious cliche. And nothing happens. Nothing happens. So many people stand before situations and oh, Jesus, Jesus in the name of Jesus, and nothing seems to happen. There is a footballer called Jesus. Is that not true? As much as I know, his name does not move mountains. His name does not open doors. Great man, whoever is, but that's not the one we're talking about. And faith in that name has brought this man perfect soundness. My assignment is to let you know that you are not without help. Don't walk around like someone who is destitute. Isn't it amazing? That most believers can give up anything to secure what they call help from other people, and they reject one of the greatest gifts they have been given, the gifts of the name, the name that you can use to rewrite possibilities, that curses and yolks are all kinds of enchantments that come against you and your family. If you understand the implication of being believer and being a career of that name by inheritance, you can dismantle the walks of darkness in a moment. It doesn't matter how long it has been there. By your arrival you come. It's a blessed is he who comes. In the name. You are not a blessing if you come on your own. But when you come in the name, blessed is the preacher that comes in the name. Blessed is the business man that comes in the name. Blessed is the sibling that comes in the name. Next time people ask you what makes you think you are a blessing, tell them three things. One, I have the spirit of God living in me. Number two, I have the name the name or I have the name. I have the name. Take me anywhere. Maybe my intelligence may fall shot, but not when the name is there with me. The Bible says the name of the Lord. That name again is a strong tower that the righteous can run in to it and find safety. Safety. Someone learning the name of Jesus, not the recitation of it. I don't want to go ahead of myself, but it is ah. Your life will change when you understand the implication of the name. One of the things you are going to be learning is that names are not just a means of identification. No, if you call someone doctor, you have set volumes just by saying doctor. Is that true? If you call somebody doctor, I say name, you have shown me already that that person has spent at. Least six years. You have encapsulated his sacrifice of six years in medical school. Maybe that he's a consultant. Are we together now? I know immediately that this man is a medical practitioner. I know most likely that he can solve my medical problems by mentioning just the name doctor. About an architect, you say architect, so, so, so and so. You have told me a lot just by putting that name architect. So if I carry his name, there is a history behind that name. You are too young to know it on your own But Satan is old enough to know the history behind that name. He knows what happened. He knows how that name came about. And so when you say in the name of Jesus, even as a young person, you were not there when the name and its power was invested. But you have received it as and inheritance. But Satan was there. He knows what happened the name of Jesus. As God has granted me the honor and the privilege of traveling from nation to nation, I have seen firsthand what the name of Jesus can do. I have watched that name open doors. I have watched that name he'll sik bodies. I have watched that name rewrites the destinies of people, situations that have been you know, as a case that is closed. But I've seen that name again reopen files that have been closed. And I'm speaking to someone in the name of Jesus. That name over your family, that name over your academics, that name over the blood condition we're about to pray shortly that name. I came bearing that name to you. It is the gift that I brought to you. I can't guarantee that I'm giving you money Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that I would give you land. I'm not connected to those there, but I have a name, and I have come in that name, that name that is able to turn things around. That a man who had been crippled from birth is a silvan and God I do not have, but such as I have. A man can know he carries that name. A businessman can know he carries that name. A preacher can know he carries that name. Allelujah. Look at me. If a gentleman stands up here in this crowd right now and says, my name is Joseph Bill Gates, you will turn and say say it again, Joseph, What Joseph Bill Gates? He says, which Bill Gates? What just happened to you? The name? The name represented potentials for favor? And he says, which Bill Gates? He said, Well, I'm not directly his son, but I grew up in his family in the house they proved to me. Then he shows you a photo of him and Bill Gates truly, not photoshop. And then Bill Gates calls him truly and you see the lion. Will you like to be his friend? What if he refuses, you will insist because a name is upon his life. Now, notice how that person looks suddenly does not matter. Whether the person speaks English well, does not matter. He has been connected to a name that that name represents potential for a great life. Are we together? Now bring it back to our nation? You hear now? For instance, somebody says, I am so so so so Ashuwaji to Nubu and he said, ah, I don't know you to be said, well, say it against it for ghetto. You are one who thinks he knows me as his son. He calls me his son. You say, he call him, let me know, let me see. Let me and then you find him together with the president. Truly, what will happen to you? You say you will be my friend? Please? Can I have your number? Or can I have your picture? Of anyone? Just show me something that connects me with you, Oh dear. Most of do you know in the villages there are people who pracked because of Habalis. They know, they say, don't trust me. You don't know who my father is. My father, say priest, You say, Habalis is this? But when the believer comes, because we do not know the implication of that name, the name is not empty. The name is a representation of an office, is a representation of a personality. Are we together? Now? When you call that name, the devil does not just here sounds. There is an individual that answers to the name. What is your name, my friend Emmanuel? If I say Emmanuel, what happens? I am calling someone who is real? Am I right on that? When you call someone's name, that means the person is within that proximity and the person will answer. So when you say in the name of Jesus, in your mind you are thinking the one seated on the throne, not knowing that he's here to answer by his spirit. The reason why the name does not work. Yes, he sitd on the throne, but the Holy Spirit has come to be an extension of his name, and the power that is invested in that name can be released when you have understanding.
