I just want to share this letter, and it comes from Chicago. A nice little lady who's getting our broadcasts in Chicago. Dear Miss Kuhlman, I enjoy all your messages. You have such a wonderful variety in your program. Thank God for His grace to you. I am 82 years old. The Holy Ghost does not have much to do here in Chicago. Its mostly man -made programs are begging for money, not like we used to have in England. You certainly are led by the dear Lord, with Christian love, and the nice little lady, 82 years of age, size or full name. Oh, but I tell you, this is the part that I smiled about. The Holy Ghost does not have much to do here in Chicago. And right now, many a person is smiling with me and saying, the Holy Ghost doesn't have much to do in our hometown either, you know. And it's just kind of like that. Oh, bless her. Well, today, again, another heart -to -heart talk about the Holy Ghost. And if only people could realize the wonderful person of the Holy Spirit. You know, we're living in a generation that is so power conscious. We're living in a day when everybody is conscious of power. And yet, we talk about power. We read about power. We're living in a power generation. But the world has forgotten about the greatest power there is in the world today. And that's the power of the Holy Ghost. There is no greater power in the world this very hour than the power of the Holy Ghost. of the Holy Spirit. And before Jesus went away, he left to the church, his church, the greatest gift that he could leave them. It was the greatest gift that he could possibly have left. He left them. He gave to his church. The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit. And in giving the gift, he said, and ye shall receive power. The same power that was manifested in my life. The same power that was manifested in my ministry. You have seen the miracles. You have seen the demonstration of supernatural power. Now I'm going away. I'm not going to leave you powerless. I'm not going to leave you defeated. As a gift, I am giving to my church, my own, the same power that was mine when I walked this earth. And yet, let me ask you, what are we doing with this power? What are we doing with this wonderful gift? What are we doing about the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, who is in the world today with all that is ours, with the greatest gift that is possible for Jesus to give? Thousands of God's professing children are living defeated, powerless lives. And in some instances, almost bringing a reproach on the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because we are living lives. Defeat. And it's just like that. Well, we're talking about the person of the Holy Spirit. His personality. And remember, that which constitutes personality. are attributed to the Holy Spirit. His intellect. He leads. He guides. He teaches. He reveals. He moves. He speaks. No wonder Jesus always referred to him in the light of a personality. Always. The personal pronoun was always used whenever Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit. For he is as definitely a person as God the Father and as Jesus Christ the Son. Now let's look at this aspect of his personality. He reveals. He moves. Peter understood this. And I turn to the Scriptures second. Peter, the first chapter. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables. When we made known unto you the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, all Peter understood. He continues by saying, we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honor and glory. When there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. And this voice, which came from heaven, we heard. All Peter said, now look here. Don't you think for a moment that we're just following. devised fables. No, ma 'am. When we told you of the glory that we saw, when we told you, when we came back and told you what we saw on the Mount of Transfiguration, when we came back and told you that we had seen Elijah, that we had seen Moses, that we had seen the Christ transfigured before our very eyes, These were not cunningly devised fables. They were not just figments of our imagination. We were eyewitnesses of his majesty. Yes, ma 'am. When we heard that voice, the voice of God himself saying this. is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased, as Jesus came from out of the waters of baptism. Oh, Peter said, we not only saw with our eyes, we heard with our ears, and no one will ever argue us out of it. We know what we heard. We know what we saw. And this voice which came from heaven we heard when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word to prophesy where unto ye do well that ye take heed as unto a light that shineth in the dark place until the day dawn. and the day star arise in your hearts, knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. Oh, remember, he has not just given one person a private interpretation. When you have someone over here, our little group someplace, who'll say, now, we have a corner on God, and He has given us something, just to us, that He has not given to anyone else, that He has not revealed to anyone else. Be very careful. Be cautious. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture, is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in the old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Now understand something. The Holy Spirit is the one. who is the author of the word of prophecy. To me, that's very thrilling. It was the Holy Spirit who spoke through Daniel. It was the Holy Ghost who spoke to Joel. It was the Holy Spirit. who spoke and gave the word of prophecy. And now, as we're moving very close to the time when the word of prophecy that was given then is about to be unfolded. The prophecy that was given 2 ,200 years ago. The prophecy that was given by the Holy Spirit 2 ,500 years ago. Now about to take place. The Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit is revealing the truth, the word of prophecy to the hearts and minds of... those who are seeking the fulfillment of these things. He's so faithful. Not another person, but the same Holy Spirit. I do not believe that when Daniel was told to write, that he understood the word of prophecy that he was writing. I do not believe that... Joel understood. I do not believe that Isaiah understood what he was told to write. I do not even believe that John on the Isle of Patmos understood what he was seeing and that which was being revealed unto him. But it was the same person. who was doing the revealing. The same Holy Spirit who today is opening our understanding to these things that are about to take place in our day, this same generation. That's the reason I tell you. We're so conscious of power and yet missing the greatest power. power in the world today. Now I want you to see something that is very precious. The same Holy Spirit, the same wonderful power of the Godhead, communes and fellowships with God's children. 2 Corinthians, the 13th chapter, the 14th verse. You have repeated it every Sunday morning as you stood there in the church, the holy sanctuary. Perhaps a verse of scripture that is repeated more than any other verse in God's Word. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen. Every Sunday morning, those words are repeated in literally... Thousands of holy sanctuaries, and yet few understand the full meaning of those words. The full depth of meaning cannot be comprehended by the human mind. The greatest saint living is our... cannot fully comprehend the full depth of meaning of those few words. The greatest words that I could bring you this hour. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. The grace. Can we fathom the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ? His grace greater than all of our sins. His grace greater than all of our failures. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the love of God. No human tongue can tell or describe the love of God or the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. No human pen could ever describe the depth of the love of God. I have loved thee with an Everlasting love. A love that forgives. A love that protects. A love that surrounds. A love that provides. A love that defends. A love that adopts. A love that has made you and made me his heir. A joint heir with his only begotten son. That's the love of God. A love that forgives and then when one is forgiven, a love that forgets the failure and forgets the sin. That's not all. And the communion of the Holy Ghost. The fellowship of the Holy Ghost. Oh, it's next Lord's Day. When that one stands in his pulpit and repeats this portion of the Word of God, Everyone in divine presence could understand the full meaning of these words. We would have a new America. This is all that you would need. That's all that men and women need. The full meaning, the consciousness of all that is involved in just this one verse alone. The communion. of the Holy Ghost. You and I, frail creatures of the dust, fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. Do you understand what it means to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit? To commune with the Holy Ghost? In that midnight hour when it's so dark. Oh, it's so dark. And you lie there. And in that moment, you're conscious of a presence. And that presence is so... close to you that he is a vital part of even your breathing. Closer to you than even the beating of the heart within that body. And there's no fear. There's no worry. You find yourself in close fellowship. with a person, the Holy Spirit. Have you stood there before the open grave and a loved one has been taken? There's no frustration. There's peace. There's hope. Sure, the tears may... What are the flowers that lie on the casket? But there's a joy, a way down deep. Here's joy. You're conscious of a strengthener. It's the comforter. And you find that there is communion with the Holy Spirit. And you turn away. And you go home. And the house is empty. And the relatives say, you'll never be able to make it. Sure, there's loneliness. You're human. But there's no frustration. There's no fear. There's hope. There's peace. And they say that in the natural, you can't do it. And in the natural, you could not do it. But, beloved, you understand. I understand. It's the communion with the... Comforter, the one who is your strengthener, the Holy Spirit. That's real. He's not only the mighty Comforter, but he lifts up a standard against your enemy. And not one of God's children need be defeated, not on a single score. The Word of God tells us so in the 59th chapter of Isaiah. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the West and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Our Lord and Savior has made provision for victory for every one of his children. And not one of his children need ever go down in defeat. Not for a second. For when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, shall lift up a standard again. We do not fight our own battles. I do not fight my own battles. The Spirit of the Lord, the Holy Ghost, fights my battles for me.
