You and I have had a good heart -to -heart talk regarding the person of the Holy Spirit. And in our last heart -to -heart talk, we saw from the Word of God that His indwelling is essential to a true knowledge of Him. That's the reason that man, that woman, who has never been born again, who has never had the experience of regeneration, can know nothing about the person of the Holy Spirit. He can have no deep spiritual experience in the things of the Spirit. Any knowledge that he has regarding the Holy Spirit is something that is mental not experimental because he has never been born of the Spirit. He's never had that experience of being born again, of regeneration. Now we come to the personality of the Holy Spirit and that which constitutes personality or attributed to the Holy Spirit. Remember again. And this is what I'm trying to get you to see from the Holy Word. And that is the fact that the Holy Spirit is a definite person. As much of a personality as God the Father. As definitely a person and personality as Jesus Christ the Son. He's not a mystery. The Holy Spirit is as real to me as any human being that I have ever known in my life. When I stand before you on that stage, on that platform, behind that pulpit, there may be 7 ,000, there may be 10 ,000 people out there, or there may be just 10, 25 people, and yet... as I speak under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, as I follow him as he moves in that great auditorium, I am more conscious of him as a person than any human being who is seated before me. And it's just like that. All right, now, let's consider his intellect. Turn, if you will, please, to a very familiar portion of the Word of God. The second chapter of 1 Corinthians. Oh, sure, listen to Paul. He said, we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto his glory, which none of the princes of this world knew. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. All these things that we're talking about. They're hidden from the world. They're hidden from men and women who've never been born again. Oh, I just love these words that Paul is saying. We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom. That's the reason some precious little old godly mother who has had limited education, knows more about this hidden wisdom and this hidden mystery, knows more about spiritual things than some man who stands behind the pulpit with all of his degrees. Because these things are only spiritually revealed. And that's exactly what Paul is talking about. He's not talking about the wisdom of man. He's talking about this hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory, which none of the princes of this world knew. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. Then he continues, as it is written, I have not seen nor ear heard. Neither hath entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But he doesn't stop there. He continues. But God hath revealed them unto us. How? By his Spirit. Oh, to me that's thrilling. Do you want to know something? Heaven is just as real to me as Concordia, Missouri. And Concordia, Missouri is mighty real to me. I was born there. I was brought up there. Oh, that main street of Concordia, Missouri is mighty real. And not a lot has changed in Concordia. Since I was a kid, oh, I can go back there and tell you everything that happened in every block in Concordia. Some memories. Concordia's real to me. But I want you to know something. Heaven is just as real to me this hour as Concordia, Missouri. And that's my day real. I've got loved ones over there waiting for me. That's the reason I have no fear of death. I have no fear of dying. Why, Bish, you'd be amazed how much time I spend thinking about that place that's going to be my eternal home, that great meeting with my loved ones and your loved ones. Oh, that's real. And it's not just a figment of my imagination. These things are made real to us and are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. That's the reason the man or the woman who's never been regenerated, who's never had the new birth experience, has no conception of these things that are so precious to our hearts. Sure. Look at the intellect of the Holy Spirit. God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the Spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God doth no man, but the Spirit of God. Go a little deeper into this thing, because to me this is so very marvelous. How could the Holy Spirit be a mystery? And yet be so close to those of us who are redeemed. Those of us who've been filled with the Spirit. Romans the 8th chapter, the 26th verse. There is a secret that I want to stop just long enough to dwell upon. That's Romans the 8th chapter. Likewise, the Spirit. He's still talking about the Holy Spirit. The same person. who's revealed to our hearts the hidden things of God, the same personality. Likewise, the Spirit also help with our infirmities, our defects, or our personal failings. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought. Oh, how many times. Because we are human. So human. Our lack of good judgment. Our lack of wisdom. Our lack of knowledge. We come face to face with a certain crisis. And because of our failures. And because of our lack of wisdom. Because our... infirmities. Because we are human. Because we are fallible. We do not many times have the wisdom to know how to pray. I can go back in my life even this very day. And stop and think, how should I pray about this thing? What should I ask for? What is right and what is wrong? One thing is right and one thing is wrong. Now, how should I pray? You've had the same experience in your own life. When you get to that place and you don't know what is wrong and what is right and how to pray, This is what the word says. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knoweth what is in the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. In that given moment, there is a perfect will, the will of God in that thing. Both things cannot be God's will. One thing is the perfect will of God for us in that prayer. When you do not know how to pray, stop and look up. Don't do a thing. Just stand still because you see. We bring most of our troubles upon ourselves by rushing in literally where angels fear to tread. That's my trouble. Oh, many a time if only I'd stopped and just did nothing, it'd have been much better. Uh -huh. We rush ahead of the spirit. We run ahead of the spirit. And then we... we find ourselves in a mess. But the Holy Spirit will never lead you astray. Just stop and say, I do not know how to pray. And in that moment, as you surrender yourself to the perfect will of God, and you surrender yourself to the Spirit, the Holy Spirit will present the need and present you before the Father's throne, He knows the perfect mind of God. He knows the perfect will of God. He who searches your heart and knows you better than you know yourself will bring that need before the throne of God and you can't miss when the Holy Spirit prays through you. Oh, learn that secret. Please learn that secret. Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our defects, our failures. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us. Could you have a... better person to make intercession for you before the Father's throne than the Holy Spirit? Perfect wisdom, for he is a part of the Godhead. Perfect wisdom, no imperfection, perfect knowledge, you can't lose. You can not lose. But here is something. that to me is so thrilling. Don't tell me the Holy Spirit is not a person. Don't tell me he's just an influence. Don't tell me he's a mystery and that we are not to become acquainted with him. Oh, you've missed the real joy of your salvation. You've missed the glory of being a Christian. You've never really learned how to live a Christian life until you've been filled with the Spirit. I tell you the truth. I pray that even now the Holy Spirit shall make himself real to you. He leads. How do I know? Because the Word says so. The 8th Chapter, Romans. I'm going to wait just a second until you find it in your own Bible. And then mark it. And then after you will have marked it in your Bible, someplace around it, write my name. You want to know why? Oh, because it means so much to me. That 14th verse, begin with it, if you will. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Oh, my friend, do you really want to know whether you've been born again? Do you really want the test of the new birth experience? Really? If you are a child of His, if you've been born of the Spirit, if God is your Heavenly Father, the Scripture says, you'll be led by the Spirit of God. Sometimes, you know, there are those who are professing Christians. for being led by the wrong spirit. The other night, and I can tell you the spot where I was standing, I can tell you my spiritual experience. I was completely immersed with the power of the Holy Ghost when in that moment, The responsibility became so overwhelming I was almost swept off of my feet. When I thought, what if Catherine Kuhlman should ever be led by another spirit? That was not the Holy Spirit. I am not infallible. I'm a human being. Flesh and blood. There's the weakness of the flesh. I am not perfect. I'm as human as you are human. That's the reason I beg you to always get your eyes off of Kathryn Kuhlman. Please don't see Kathryn. I'm human. I have no one else to go to except my wonderful Jesus, my Lord. I have no one else to go to to seek wisdom, to seek knowledge. You do. not know the thousands and thousands of times that I've had to stop and say, give me wisdom. Show me. Lead me. What if for one hour, just one hour, I should be led by some spirit that was not his spirit? When there are thousands and thousands who look to this ministry for their spiritual food, they are a part of this ministry. And everything depends on the leadership of the Holy Spirit. What if I should fail just one hour? What if I should fail just one day and be led of another spirit? A spirit that was not the Holy Spirit. Oh, to me, this is the glorious portion of God's Word. Remember, you cannot be led of the Spirit unless you are sensitive to His Spirit. You cannot be led by His Spirit unless you're willing to be led by the Spirit. Unless you desire to be led of the Spirit. Unless you have a will, your will, surrendered to the will of the spirit. Oh, there's much more than meets the eye. Much more. You may have read this over and over again, but there's much, much more than just words printed on India paper. Much more than just words. As many as are led by the spirit of God. There isn't a day of my life before I leave my room I do not ask and seek for divine wisdom. divine guidance. My responsibility is so great. I must be led by the Spirit in every decision. To whom else can I go? I have no one else to ask for wisdom. You receive the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abelfather. On the Spirit itself, there's witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs. Heirs of God. Joint heirs with Christ Jesus. Oh, this is thrilling. You are somebody. Never forget to whom you belong. Never, never apologize for being a Christian. Never. Never go down the street with your head hanging low and your shoulders drooped. Stand straight. Look up and say, I know to whom I belong. The spirit itself beareth witness with my spirit that I am his child. I belong to him. Lead the spirit. And in him, there is no defeat. Amen.
