One time in the 0:25:11.520 --> 0:25:15.159 Old Testament, David and his men were out protecting the 0:25:15.160 --> 0:25:19.040 borders of Israel. While there were away, some bandits came 0:25:19.080 --> 0:25:23.679 into their hometown, attacked the city, burned it down, stole 0:25:23.720 --> 0:25:27.679 all their possessions, and kidnapped their wives and children. It 0:25:27.800 --> 0:25:31.440 was the greatest defeat that David had ever suffered. When 0:25:31.440 --> 0:25:34.200 he and his men came back and saw the city 0:25:34.280 --> 0:25:37.920 in ruins and realized that their families were gone, they 0:25:38.000 --> 0:25:42.000 wept until they could not weep anymore. They went out 0:26:04.160 --> 0:26:08.040 and attacked the enemy, and the scripture says they recovered 0:26:08.400 --> 0:26:11.560 everything that had been stolen. They got their wives and 0:26:11.640 --> 0:26:15.520 children back, they got their possessions back. Not only that, 0:26:16.000 --> 0:26:19.720 on that same day, King Saul was killed in another 0:26:19.800 --> 0:26:24.520 battle and David was appointed king. This all happened just 0:26:24.640 --> 0:26:29.680 three days after his greatest defeat, just three days from 0:26:29.720 --> 0:26:33.639 his darkest hour. David not only saw God help him 0:26:33.680 --> 0:26:37.119 overcome an obstacle, but God promoted him and put him 0:26:37.160 --> 0:26:40.239 on the throne of Israel. What am I saying, in 0:26:40.320 --> 0:26:44.480 your darkest moment, you could be just seventy two hours 0:26:44.600 --> 0:26:48.920 from your greatest victory.
