He tags back to 0:16:20.920 --> 0:16:23.400 the past and says thus says the Lord verse sixteen, 0:16:23.440 --> 0:16:25.440 who makes away in the sea, a path in the 0:16:25.520 --> 0:16:29.320 mighty water, who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior. 0:16:30.040 --> 0:16:32.880 They lie down, they cannot rise. This is a very familiar framework for 0:16:39.240 --> 0:16:42.960 Isaiah's audience, maybe not so much for us, but this 0:16:43.080 --> 0:16:47.160 refers to the Egyptian army that God drowned in the 0:16:47.200 --> 0:16:52.600 Red Sea centuries before Isaiah would write these words, and 0:16:52.640 --> 0:16:56.720 he reminds them of the past. And then in verse 0:16:56.720 --> 0:17:00.680 eighteen check this out, he tells them remember not the 0:17:00.720 --> 0:17:05.800 former things.
