Somebody tithe good money 0:00:54.560 --> 0:00:55.520 so you could have that seat. 0:00:55.560 --> 0:00:56.680 So I want you to use it. 0:00:56.760 --> 0:00:59.160 And we will give you that opportunity today. But just 0:00:59.200 --> 0:01:01.360 stand for one more month, and I'm gonna be reading 0:01:01.360 --> 0:01:05.480 the scripture from the King James version of the Bible, 0:01:09.840 --> 0:01:13.120 because it's the one that I memorized it in Now 0:01:13.760 --> 0:01:16.000 I don't still have it memorized, but at one time 0:01:16.000 --> 0:01:16.320 I did. 0:01:16.360 --> 0:01:19.160 You can believe that or not is absolutely true. 0:01:20.040 --> 0:01:24.199 But we're just gonna read like a little sandwich real quick, 0:01:24.200 --> 0:01:28.280 from Hebrews eleven and Hebrews twelve. And some of you 0:01:28.319 --> 0:01:32.000 who are really churchy, you're gonna be tempted that while 0:01:32.000 --> 0:01:35.800 I'm reading the scripture to start getting excited. Don't do it, Okay, 0:01:35.880 --> 0:01:38.560 just let me read my scripture. These nice people don't 0:01:38.560 --> 0:01:41.040 want to hear you shouting while I'm reading my scripture. 0:01:41.480 --> 0:01:41.880 Okay. 0:01:42.400 --> 0:01:46.120 But Hebrew's eleven one says, now, faith is the substance 0:01:46.160 --> 0:01:47.920 of things hoped for. 0:01:48.320 --> 0:01:52.720 What did I tell you? I told you to sit still? 0:01:52.880 --> 0:01:56.520 And the evidence of things not seen by it? The 0:01:56.560 --> 0:02:01.600 elders obtaining a good report by faith, we understand what? 0:02:01.600 --> 0:02:02.240 Do we understand? 0:02:02.480 --> 0:02:06.200 That the worlds were framed by the word of God, 0:02:06.360 --> 0:02:10.600 so that things which are seen were made of things 0:02:11.120 --> 0:02:12.360 are not made of things? 0:02:12.800 --> 0:02:15.200 Can I do that whole verse over? Through faith? 0:02:15.320 --> 0:02:19.000 We understand that the worlds were framed by the word 0:02:19.040 --> 0:02:22.080 of God, so that things which are seen were not 0:02:22.400 --> 0:02:26.960 made of things which do appear. Now look at Hebrews twelve, 0:02:27.560 --> 0:02:30.919 verse one and two, Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed 0:02:30.960 --> 0:02:34.600 about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us 0:02:34.680 --> 0:02:38.000 lay aside every weight and the sin which does so 0:02:38.120 --> 0:02:41.880 easily beset us, and let us run with patience. 0:02:42.040 --> 0:02:44.560 Tell somebody we're getting fit. We're getting fit, and look 0:02:44.600 --> 0:02:45.520 who our trainer is. 0:02:46.040 --> 0:02:48.560 Let us run with patience the race that is set 0:02:48.639 --> 0:02:53.800 before us, looking onto Jesus, the author and finisher of 0:02:53.919 --> 0:02:57.560 our functional faith, who for the joy set before him, 0:02:58.000 --> 0:02:59.359 endured the cross, despising the. 0:02:59.320 --> 0:03:01.240 Shame, and is set down. Now. 0:03:01.240 --> 0:03:04.640 He didn't sit down because he was tired. He sat 0:03:04.680 --> 0:03:09.160 down because it was done. Touch somebody say it's already done. 0:03:09.480 --> 0:03:10.480 It's already done. 0:03:10.639 --> 0:03:15.440 I have to clarify faith, it's already done. Sat down 0:03:16.160 --> 0:03:18.040 at the right hand of God. Now here's what we're 0:03:18.040 --> 0:03:20.280 gonna do today. As a sermon title, I'm going to 0:03:20.320 --> 0:03:23.080 teach you how to do an exercise. This also an experiment. 0:03:23.320 --> 0:03:27.000 I want to talk about the Frame game. The Frame game. 0:03:27.080 --> 0:03:28.520 Touch somebody on your way to your seat and said, 0:03:28.520 --> 0:03:29.799 we're going to have a great time today. 0:03:30.880 --> 0:03:34.480 You may be seated. Thank you, Worship team. 0:03:34.639 --> 0:03:41.040 Hey, keep touring, Mac, keep singing, Stay strong, we believe 0:03:41.080 --> 0:03:41.280 in you. 0:03:43.920 --> 0:03:48.880 And now to go to this passage that I am. 0:03:49.280 --> 0:03:54.520 So excited to preach, like way more excited to preach 0:03:54.560 --> 0:03:58.920 it than you are to hear it. Where I read 0:03:58.960 --> 0:04:04.240 you two little passages that are so well known. If 0:04:04.320 --> 0:04:07.560 these passages were an exercise, they would be the push 0:04:07.640 --> 0:04:11.840 ups of faith, because it's just a really well known 0:04:13.920 --> 0:04:16.360 passage where it says, not for in evidence and things 0:04:16.400 --> 0:04:18.159 I've seen, and fix our eyes on Jesus, Author and 0:04:18.160 --> 0:04:18.960 perfective of faith. 0:04:19.160 --> 0:04:19.960 Those are well known. 0:04:21.200 --> 0:04:24.640 In the middle of those verses, there is a picture 0:04:24.960 --> 0:04:30.919 that the author of Hebrews provides to encourage perseverance for 0:04:31.000 --> 0:04:36.320 anyone who is fatigued in their faith. And to do 0:04:36.400 --> 0:04:40.839 it he mentions people who now he calls a cloud 0:04:40.839 --> 0:04:45.120 of witnesses, and he's establishing what we might call a 0:04:45.200 --> 0:04:49.320 framework of faith. Interesting thing is that that list I 0:04:49.360 --> 0:04:52.640 didn't read it to you. It is bookended by these 0:04:52.680 --> 0:04:54.440 two descriptions of faith. 0:04:55.000 --> 0:04:56.960 Faith is the substance of things. 0:04:56.680 --> 0:04:59.880 Hope for, and that Jesus is the author and finisher 0:05:00.360 --> 0:05:01.000 of our faith. 0:05:01.360 --> 0:05:03.760 And in between that he gives a picture. 0:05:04.200 --> 0:05:08.720 And these two passages they serve as the frame and 0:05:08.920 --> 0:05:12.320 the picture. Here's the thing you got to know, sometimes 0:05:12.360 --> 0:05:15.440 the frame is even more important than the picture. 0:05:17.320 --> 0:05:18.520 Can I explain that a little bit. 0:05:19.360 --> 0:05:22.800 Sometimes the way you say something is even more important 0:05:22.800 --> 0:05:27.280 than what you say. You can say something to your 0:05:27.360 --> 0:05:30.919 kids meant to develop them, that will destroy them all 0:05:31.320 --> 0:05:33.520 because of the way that you framed it. 0:05:34.800 --> 0:05:35.520 You can put your. 0:05:35.480 --> 0:05:40.680 Kids in a competitive mindset with their siblings, trying to 0:05:40.680 --> 0:05:43.440 get them to act right and then kind of create 0:05:43.920 --> 0:05:46.640 this dysfunction that they have the rest of their life. 0:05:47.200 --> 0:05:50.600 Framework is important any married people, married people, any married. 0:05:50.360 --> 0:05:56.600 People, your phraseology in marriage is really important. I just 0:05:56.640 --> 0:06:00.200 want to give you this quick tip because sometimes sometimes 0:06:00.240 --> 0:06:03.640 it's not what you're saying to your husband, is how 0:06:03.680 --> 0:06:06.719 you're saying it that he can't hear it. 0:06:06.720 --> 0:06:10.560 It's quiet, it's real quiet. 0:06:10.640 --> 0:06:12.800 I'm a little nervous to proceed with this illustration, but 0:06:12.839 --> 0:06:15.400 I'll do some nonetheless because I believe this has a 0:06:15.520 --> 0:06:18.240 very practical application value to your life. You know, if 0:06:18.240 --> 0:06:20.240 you really want to get your husband to change, catch 0:06:20.240 --> 0:06:25.240 them doing something right and compliment him. 0:06:25.279 --> 0:06:26.200 But you don't have to do that. 0:06:26.240 --> 0:06:27.880 You can keep critiquing him for what he's doing wrong, 0:06:27.920 --> 0:06:29.919 and he'll keep doing it because men repeat what you 0:06:29.960 --> 0:06:36.960 feed them. So to understand how to effectively communicate with 0:06:37.000 --> 0:06:41.280 your mate. Communicate with your mate, you have to learn 0:06:41.320 --> 0:06:43.159 the art of framing its framework. 0:06:43.279 --> 0:06:45.600 As a parent, the way you frame. 0:06:45.360 --> 0:06:48.120 A question to your children, especially if they're younger. Now, 0:06:48.120 --> 0:06:50.719 my kids are all under the age of eleven, so 0:06:50.720 --> 0:06:53.080 I'm not writing my parenting book yet for at least 0:06:53.279 --> 0:06:54.920 twenty years to see if any of this crap I. 0:06:54.880 --> 0:06:57.000 Tell you actually works in real life. 0:06:57.200 --> 0:07:01.760 But I think you sometimes, as a parent, are tempted 0:07:01.760 --> 0:07:03.480 when your kids are small, to give them too many 0:07:03.560 --> 0:07:09.039 choices and too many options about dinner, about clothes, just 0:07:09.120 --> 0:07:14.480 all kinds of options. And and in my personal parenting philosophy, 0:07:15.120 --> 0:07:18.840 I don't ever give my children fill in the blank question. 0:07:19.480 --> 0:07:22.360 When I'm asking them to do something for me, I 0:07:22.440 --> 0:07:26.440 give I give them multiple choice, you know. So it's 0:07:26.560 --> 0:07:29.080 it's not do you want to eat your broccoli? 0:07:29.120 --> 0:07:30.200 I don't ask my kids that. 0:07:30.840 --> 0:07:32.520 My kids, what I might say is. 0:07:32.760 --> 0:07:36.960 Uh, would you rather eat your broccoli or never play 0:07:37.080 --> 0:07:40.120 video games or see the light of day again? So 0:07:40.280 --> 0:07:42.640 now see, you have a choice. I'm not telling you 0:07:42.640 --> 0:07:45.200 you have to eat your broccoli. I'm just informing you 0:07:45.280 --> 0:07:47.239 of the consequences of not eating the broccoli. 0:07:47.480 --> 0:07:50.200 It's called framing, and I learned it from a counselor. 0:07:50.320 --> 0:07:52.280 This counselor one time was preparing me to go into 0:07:52.320 --> 0:07:54.880 a high intensity, high stress situation and he said, you 0:07:54.920 --> 0:07:55.760 get all stressed out. 0:07:55.640 --> 0:07:56.840 Every time you go around these people. 0:07:57.000 --> 0:07:57.560 I said, I do. 0:07:57.680 --> 0:07:59.880 I said, they're stressful people. He said, but what if 0:07:59.880 --> 0:08:01.600 the this time you made a game out of it? 0:08:01.920 --> 0:08:03.400 And I said, tell me more about this game, because 0:08:03.440 --> 0:08:06.000 I like to play games. I'm the kind of guy 0:08:06.040 --> 0:08:08.240 who will turn any conversation into a game. 0:08:08.320 --> 0:08:11.000 As college I like to play, would you rather? I 0:08:11.120 --> 0:08:11.640 like to play? 0:08:11.640 --> 0:08:15.200 What if I can turn any conversation into a game. 0:08:15.240 --> 0:08:16.560 And I'm competitive by nature. 0:08:16.680 --> 0:08:18.120 So when he told me I can make it like 0:08:18.160 --> 0:08:20.560 a game, that got my attention. He said, yeah, when 0:08:20.600 --> 0:08:23.080 you go into this situation, you know they're crazy, So 0:08:23.160 --> 0:08:27.160 go in like you're a sociologist, like you are studying 0:08:27.200 --> 0:08:30.720 their species of crazy, and you have to bring back 0:08:30.720 --> 0:08:33.320 a field report on the craziness of these people. 0:08:34.600 --> 0:08:36.320 So he gave me a technique. 0:08:36.360 --> 0:08:38.439 I didn't know at the time that he was teaching 0:08:38.480 --> 0:08:39.679 me cognitive framing. 0:08:39.760 --> 0:08:43.200 How fancy is that he was teaching me that I 0:08:43.200 --> 0:08:46.679 could I could take a situation or information facts, I 0:08:46.679 --> 0:08:49.439 could take it and frame it a different way. 0:08:49.520 --> 0:08:51.800 Now. Advertisers are doing this to you all the time. 0:08:53.080 --> 0:08:57.040 Politicians are doing this to you. Occasionally. It is the 0:08:57.360 --> 0:09:01.000 invisible frame by which they present the issue or the argument, 0:09:01.000 --> 0:09:03.000 and you don't even see that it's there. 0:09:03.040 --> 0:09:05.680 Which brings us to Hebrews eleven, where it says that. 0:09:05.559 --> 0:09:09.559 The worlds were framed by the word of God. When 0:09:09.600 --> 0:09:12.520 I say framed, if you're in the construction industry, you 0:09:12.679 --> 0:09:15.440 picture the raw material that builds a house and the 0:09:15.440 --> 0:09:18.160 dimensions of it when you frame the house up. 0:09:18.160 --> 0:09:20.079 When you frame the house up, well that's a. 0:09:20.000 --> 0:09:23.160 Good picture because the scripture says that when God was 0:09:23.200 --> 0:09:26.040 looking around for something strong enough to build the world with, 0:09:27.080 --> 0:09:30.280 there was no substitute for the raw material of his word. 0:09:31.400 --> 0:09:34.439 So God framed and built the world which is visible 0:09:34.480 --> 0:09:38.600 through the word, which is invisible. Now, we as his children, 0:09:38.679 --> 0:09:41.360 get to imitate Him in our life through this thing 0:09:41.440 --> 0:09:45.320 called faith. That is, we get to take the same 0:09:45.480 --> 0:09:49.280 stuff that God used to frame the world and frame 0:09:49.400 --> 0:09:53.280 our lives with it if we choose to that. The 0:09:53.440 --> 0:09:57.200 same word of God that framed the ocean can frame 0:09:57.280 --> 0:10:01.320 my situation on a Tuesday afternoon if I choose to 0:10:01.520 --> 0:10:05.920 use it. So I want to talk about it for 0:10:05.960 --> 0:10:08.560 a little while today because I want to build my 0:10:08.640 --> 0:10:12.080 life with something that is sturdy and solid. So I 0:10:12.120 --> 0:10:14.640 want to know God, can I borrow some of this 0:10:14.840 --> 0:10:19.480 raw material? The rama, the word? The rama. You've heard 0:10:19.480 --> 0:10:23.280 this before. The word of God is powerful enough to 0:10:23.400 --> 0:10:26.960 shape and create my life. Now I get to frame 0:10:27.240 --> 0:10:31.400 my life using the same substance that God used to 0:10:31.559 --> 0:10:37.840 make my world. And so I got to get a 0:10:37.880 --> 0:10:39.240 sense of focus. 0:10:39.320 --> 0:10:41.400 Would you write that word down? Focus? 0:10:41.480 --> 0:10:43.320 Some of you are playing on your phone, but you 0:10:43.360 --> 0:10:47.160 need to focus and write down the word focus and 0:10:47.400 --> 0:10:48.559 multitasking self. 0:10:48.559 --> 0:10:49.480 You need to focus. 0:10:49.640 --> 0:10:53.520 Touch your neighbors say focus, tell them focus on me. 0:10:55.760 --> 0:10:59.679 Focus on me. Now, I told you i'd do it. 0:11:00.000 --> 0:11:04.480 Here's the part about this thing called focus, Okay. Focus 0:11:04.679 --> 0:11:10.760 is a skill that must be sharpened continually, and. 0:11:11.160 --> 0:11:12.520 I get a lot of practice with. 0:11:12.520 --> 0:11:16.040 It in preaching because how well I think my sermon 0:11:16.160 --> 0:11:21.480 is going totally depends on which person I focus on 0:11:21.600 --> 0:11:22.360 while I'm preaching. 0:11:24.520 --> 0:11:25.920 Some of you make me suicidal. 0:11:26.000 --> 0:11:28.080 I mean, like I if. 0:11:27.960 --> 0:11:29.760 I only had you to look at while I preached, 0:11:29.760 --> 0:11:30.520 I would blow. 0:11:30.320 --> 0:11:35.320 My brains out on stage. But I'm really good at this. 0:11:35.400 --> 0:11:37.520 Now. I'm a professional, so I don't really look at 0:11:37.520 --> 0:11:37.960 the crowd. 0:11:38.120 --> 0:11:38.839 I scan. 0:11:40.800 --> 0:11:42.600 And I'm looking for love. That's what I'm looking for. 0:11:44.040 --> 0:11:46.280 But I'm really good at it. I'm a professional because 0:11:46.320 --> 0:11:48.520 like we go out on video shoots, okay, and sometimes 0:11:48.559 --> 0:11:50.360 we go on video shoots to do for the church. 0:11:50.800 --> 0:11:53.000 There's all kind of crazy, chaotic stuff happening, and. 0:11:52.960 --> 0:11:56.240 I have to I have to focus and ask buck. 0:11:56.280 --> 0:11:57.280 I'm a master of it. 0:11:57.600 --> 0:12:00.440 I can lock it in when the cameras. I can 0:12:00.480 --> 0:12:02.880 have a million things going on, but I can focus. 0:12:02.920 --> 0:12:05.280 We went to Israel a few years ago to shoot 0:12:05.320 --> 0:12:09.320 an Easter presentation called seven Mile Miracle, and we were going. 0:12:09.120 --> 0:12:11.559 To different sites like Gaugatha, which is. 0:12:11.520 --> 0:12:14.000 Now a bus depot by the way, so if you 0:12:14.000 --> 0:12:16.320 ever go, you just need to know that the place 0:12:16.320 --> 0:12:19.359 where they hung Our Lord, there's buses there, so anyway. 0:12:19.600 --> 0:12:20.680 But you get yours up. 0:12:21.360 --> 0:12:24.000 And we went on the Amais Road and the Garden Tomb, 0:12:24.000 --> 0:12:24.840 which is beautiful. 0:12:25.120 --> 0:12:26.520 But when we went for the last shoot on the 0:12:26.559 --> 0:12:29.000 Via Dolorosa, the crew to me, don't even come in today. 0:12:29.000 --> 0:12:29.560 You can't do this. 0:12:29.600 --> 0:12:31.439 I said, I could do it. What's the problem. They said, 0:12:31.480 --> 0:12:33.600 it's real busy. So we shot this little video. Here's 0:12:33.600 --> 0:12:34.400 twenty seconds of it. 0:12:34.400 --> 0:12:35.679 We showed it a few years ago. 0:12:35.480 --> 0:12:36.400 But watch this. 0:12:37.440 --> 0:12:40.000 There's somebody participating in this experience that needs to know 0:12:40.120 --> 0:12:44.120 today you've got a new twenty four. His mercies are 0:12:44.200 --> 0:12:47.760 new with every rising of the sun, that his faithfulness 0:12:48.000 --> 0:12:49.000 is great, That. 0:12:49.000 --> 0:12:50.400 He walked a path where. 0:12:50.240 --> 0:12:53.040 He was forsaken, so that you could walk a path 0:12:53.280 --> 0:12:54.880 where you would never be forsaken. 0:12:55.240 --> 0:12:56.960 That God in heaven remembers you. 0:12:57.480 --> 0:13:01.880 Now, let us remember his death, let us remember his salvation. 0:13:02.360 --> 0:13:05.160 He created like a holy moment via dolerosa, the way 0:13:05.200 --> 0:13:07.120 of suffering, the path that he tried. 0:13:07.400 --> 0:13:10.600 But I asked him to go back and pull the 0:13:10.640 --> 0:13:15.600 wide shot. That's the tight shot. Here's the wide shot. 0:13:16.040 --> 0:13:18.400 I want you to see what's going on the via. 0:13:18.280 --> 0:13:21.000 Dolerosa that while I was preaching that show the clip. 0:13:21.840 --> 0:13:24.400 There's somebody participating in this experience that needs to know 0:13:24.520 --> 0:13:28.559 today you got a new twenty four. His mercies are 0:13:28.600 --> 0:13:30.600 new with every rising of the sun. 0:13:31.000 --> 0:13:32.559 That his faithfulness is. 0:13:32.559 --> 0:13:35.640 Great, That he walked a path where he was forsaken, 0:13:36.040 --> 0:13:38.280 so that you could walk a path where you would 0:13:38.280 --> 0:13:39.280 never be forsaken. 0:13:39.640 --> 0:13:40.600 That God didn't head. 0:13:40.480 --> 0:13:44.120 I see, unless our preacher would have been distracted by 0:13:44.160 --> 0:13:47.760 that Middle Eastern girl with a Hello Kitty backpack. Not me, 0:13:48.040 --> 0:13:53.120 Why I'm focused? Dot your neighbor say, I'm focused. You'd 0:13:53.160 --> 0:13:58.360 be surprised what you could do if you would get focused. 0:13:58.240 --> 0:13:59.000 Really you would. 0:13:59.160 --> 0:14:02.520 And it doesn't mean that chaos stops in your life either. Oh, 0:14:02.800 --> 0:14:04.800 I have focused if it weren't for these kids. No, 0:14:05.280 --> 0:14:12.080 you need to control your frame. You can't control everything 0:14:12.120 --> 0:14:14.520 that happens out here. 0:14:14.640 --> 0:14:17.480 You can control who walks by. But but I can 0:14:17.760 --> 0:14:21.840 give me camera one. This is what's called a tight shot. 0:14:22.360 --> 0:14:25.480 That means that this shot on camera one is only 0:14:25.560 --> 0:14:29.560 designed to show me. We can zoom in, zoom in 0:14:29.560 --> 0:14:33.680 a little bit, zoom until they can see the gray 0:14:33.680 --> 0:14:36.880 hairs on my beard. Okay, zoom in, zoom in a 0:14:36.920 --> 0:14:37.400 little bit more. 0:14:39.080 --> 0:14:41.640 It's focus. Now, that's that's a tight shot. 0:14:42.520 --> 0:14:45.080 That's a that's a terrifying shot. You should zoom out, 0:14:45.480 --> 0:14:46.640 zoom out, zoom out. Quick. 0:14:46.680 --> 0:14:47.680 Quck quick coock uick quck quick. 0:14:47.920 --> 0:14:52.400 I just wanted you to see that you choose your focus. See, 0:14:52.440 --> 0:14:55.440 they're they're directing those cameras in the back and they 0:14:55.480 --> 0:14:58.960 are making the decision in the moment, what needs the attention. 0:14:59.520 --> 0:15:00.960 So it's it's interesting coming here to JJ. 0:15:01.280 --> 0:15:04.400 JJ can be on the stage, and if we're if 0:15:04.440 --> 0:15:08.480 we're working with the wide shot, he's a distraction because 0:15:08.520 --> 0:15:13.040 what's he even doing here? What are you even doing here? 0:15:13.800 --> 0:15:16.200 But let's say I can't make him go away. You know, 0:15:16.360 --> 0:15:18.320 he's a Valentine campus pastor. 0:15:18.360 --> 0:15:21.400 Now he wants to stand on the stage. But watch 0:15:21.440 --> 0:15:22.920 what I can do camera one. 0:15:23.160 --> 0:15:24.119 I can focus. 0:15:25.040 --> 0:15:27.560 I'm trying to say, he might not leave the stage, 0:15:27.760 --> 0:15:29.480 but that doesn't mean I have to keep him in 0:15:29.520 --> 0:15:34.520 my frame. I am preaching about anxiety, ap preaching about depression. 0:15:34.800 --> 0:15:35.880 You might stand there. 0:15:38.600 --> 0:15:41.520 Well, my faith gives me Li's sten now a focus 0:15:42.640 --> 0:15:47.120 touch three people say focus, focus, focus. Faith is powered 0:15:47.160 --> 0:15:50.840 by focus, and so they're deciding back there the camera 0:15:50.880 --> 0:15:55.320 operators what to put into the frame. That's what is 0:15:55.400 --> 0:15:59.320 called the frame. The worlds were framed by the word 0:15:59.320 --> 0:16:01.120 of God. The reasons and they're watching me preach on 0:16:01.160 --> 0:16:03.400 a screen is because somebody that you can't see is 0:16:03.480 --> 0:16:05.880 running a camera and framing it. You know, it is 0:16:05.920 --> 0:16:10.520 the invisible aspects of your life that often determine the results. 0:16:10.520 --> 0:16:10.760 Faith. 0:16:10.760 --> 0:16:14.320 This the substance of things hoped for and the evidence 0:16:14.720 --> 0:16:21.320 of things not seen. It's a matter of focus. And 0:16:21.400 --> 0:16:23.880 so you frame up your life. You know, you do 0:16:23.920 --> 0:16:26.160 it every day. And Hebrews eleven and twelve give us 0:16:26.160 --> 0:16:31.960 a framework of faith, a focal point, telling us to 0:16:32.000 --> 0:16:36.560 fix our eyes on Jesus. Now we need Peter to 0:16:36.560 --> 0:16:38.200 come and show us how to walk on water. 0:16:38.320 --> 0:16:40.400 Whoops, he slipped. 0:16:41.400 --> 0:16:44.880 He slipped because he let the wind and the waves 0:16:45.280 --> 0:16:49.160 in his frame. We can't blame him because the wind 0:16:49.200 --> 0:16:51.840 and the waves were there. The wind and the waves 0:16:51.880 --> 0:16:55.000 were there while he was walking on the water. But 0:16:55.040 --> 0:16:58.720 when you allow things in your frame that break your 0:16:58.760 --> 0:17:03.200 focus faith this weekend, and you will never build a 0:17:03.360 --> 0:17:05.639 solid faith with a weak focus. 0:17:06.440 --> 0:17:09.960 Focus. Focus focus. 0:17:10.040 --> 0:17:12.280 Maybe it's just because my eight year old is playing 0:17:12.480 --> 0:17:15.359 baseball right now, and that's the thing I hear coach 0:17:15.440 --> 0:17:17.800 Dave Yelle more than anything to these eight year old boys. 0:17:18.000 --> 0:17:20.280 Focus focus. 0:17:21.280 --> 0:17:24.040 Focus is not real complicated when they're eight, Like, just. 0:17:24.040 --> 0:17:26.520 Have your glove on your hand when the ball comes. 0:17:26.760 --> 0:17:30.440 Okay, focus, somebody show focus. Look at your neighbor, tell 0:17:30.480 --> 0:17:33.560 them focus. Some of y'all won't even receive this word 0:17:33.600 --> 0:17:35.240 at a deep enough level to build your faith for 0:17:35.280 --> 0:17:36.960 your life, because you're not focused on what I'm saying. 0:17:37.000 --> 0:17:38.720 You're thinking about who you're meeting after church. 0:17:38.920 --> 0:17:40.320 But if you would focus. 0:17:39.960 --> 0:17:42.560 On this word, the breakthrough that you need is in 0:17:42.600 --> 0:17:43.760 this word I'm preaching. 0:17:46.160 --> 0:17:47.320 All you gotta do is. 0:17:49.160 --> 0:17:55.560 Focus, focus, focus, because the frame of your faith. 0:17:55.640 --> 0:17:56.360 Let's build this out. 0:17:56.400 --> 0:18:00.000 Actually, we need focus, and then we need a friend 0:18:00.280 --> 0:18:07.280 of reference, a frame of reference. So the writer of 0:18:07.320 --> 0:18:10.240 Hebrews said that God started the world with his word. 0:18:10.240 --> 0:18:12.159 And now that same word is the word by. 0:18:12.040 --> 0:18:15.520 Which, if you receive it, you will receive a measure 0:18:15.520 --> 0:18:18.080 of faith. And then you frame your world according to 0:18:18.119 --> 0:18:20.920 the same word that God spoke the universe into existence with. 0:18:21.000 --> 0:18:23.320 He's given a frame of reference all the way. 0:18:23.160 --> 0:18:26.320 To Jesus, who endured the shame of the Cross through faith. 0:18:26.359 --> 0:18:28.919 It's a frame of reference for a suffering church. And 0:18:28.960 --> 0:18:31.679 he's given them a frame of reference, reminding them of 0:18:31.760 --> 0:18:34.560 Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. This is the picture that's 0:18:34.560 --> 0:18:37.200 inside the frame of Hebrews eleven and twelve. He's given 0:18:37.240 --> 0:18:41.240 them a picture, and it's given them a frame of reference. 0:18:41.280 --> 0:18:44.760 Like when you and Rachel took Bo to the hospital 0:18:45.080 --> 0:18:45.680 last week. 0:18:45.920 --> 0:18:50.560 Bo, their little son is prone to injuries more than 0:18:50.600 --> 0:18:52.600 most little boys. Even I would say, when you say, 0:18:52.680 --> 0:18:56.359 it's just got a bruiser. And so he bangs his 0:18:56.520 --> 0:19:00.439 head against a poll on the playground during church, and 0:19:00.480 --> 0:19:03.320 they took him to get some stitches, and the emergency 0:19:03.400 --> 0:19:07.920 room wait was eleven hours for some stitches. Now, Elaijah, 0:19:07.920 --> 0:19:09.679 if that had been you, I would have put a 0:19:09.720 --> 0:19:12.160 shoelace in your eye and tied it up. 0:19:12.440 --> 0:19:14.200 We would not have waited eleven hours. 0:19:14.560 --> 0:19:17.240 But it was a deep gash, so they probably needed 0:19:17.280 --> 0:19:19.880 to wait. I said, were you mad, buck, I would 0:19:19.880 --> 0:19:22.080 have been furious. Eleven hours for some stitches? 0:19:22.480 --> 0:19:22.840 He said. 0:19:22.880 --> 0:19:25.840 I was at first, But the more people that came 0:19:26.000 --> 0:19:30.120 into the er that night that I realized I might 0:19:30.200 --> 0:19:31.359 have to wait a little while. 0:19:31.520 --> 0:19:36.760 But some of them aren't leaving, he said. 0:19:36.760 --> 0:19:39.800 The longer I sat there, the less frustrated I was, 0:19:41.080 --> 0:19:44.280 and the more I started realizing that this might be 0:19:44.760 --> 0:19:47.080 how I'm spending my night in the hospital. But some 0:19:47.119 --> 0:19:49.679 people have spent their last six months in the hospital. 0:19:52.359 --> 0:19:54.879 Nothing changed, but the frame. 0:19:56.359 --> 0:19:57.400 Nothing changed. 0:19:58.000 --> 0:19:59.000 But the frame. 0:20:00.240 --> 0:20:02.840 That's so often what we need is a frame of reference. 0:20:02.880 --> 0:20:12.440 Sometimes white people need to have a black friend. Sometimes 0:20:12.480 --> 0:20:17.480 black people need to have a white friend. Broke people 0:20:17.520 --> 0:20:25.200 need some rich friends. Rich people need some broke friends. 0:20:25.280 --> 0:20:29.680 And what we're doing, we're trading perspectives. Hey, take a 0:20:29.720 --> 0:20:31.600 look at life through my lens, and we get wiser 0:20:31.680 --> 0:20:36.040 and we get smarter. Because it's a frame of reference. 0:20:37.280 --> 0:20:43.320 So often your perspective is developed in reverse. Sometimes the 0:20:43.359 --> 0:20:45.639 way to get through what you're going through right now 0:20:46.000 --> 0:20:50.520 is to go to the wide lens. Wide lens, camera two, 0:20:52.119 --> 0:20:54.960 camera two. The wide shot is what gives me a 0:20:54.960 --> 0:20:59.199 frame of reference. This is the tight shot. It's an 0:20:59.200 --> 0:21:02.440 important shot. But sometimes what I need is a wide 0:21:02.440 --> 0:21:06.679 shot so that when I see Goliath on the battle lines, 0:21:07.440 --> 0:21:09.840 I have a frame of reference that takes me back 0:21:10.640 --> 0:21:13.080 to the lion and the bear in. 0:21:13.040 --> 0:21:13.760 The sheep field. 0:21:15.400 --> 0:21:19.840 Sometimes I need a frame of reference to realize that 0:21:20.280 --> 0:21:23.200 I was worried last month, this time when the bills 0:21:23.200 --> 0:21:27.840 were due, God made away. It's a frame of reference. 0:21:28.480 --> 0:21:30.920 This is why we're instructed in the Bible. As often 0:21:30.960 --> 0:21:32.359 as we're instructed. 0:21:31.920 --> 0:21:34.880 Anything to remember, to remember. 0:21:35.760 --> 0:21:39.080 Sometimes you got to play the tape back, you know, 0:21:39.160 --> 0:21:41.480 because the enemy will get you so focused on this 0:21:41.520 --> 0:21:44.880 one frame, this one thing, and you will lose your 0:21:45.000 --> 0:21:47.520 whole frame of reference. 0:21:47.880 --> 0:21:49.560 What are you doing staying. 0:21:49.320 --> 0:21:52.399 Up late worried about this one? No, you gotta zoom 0:21:52.440 --> 0:21:58.800 out and change your frame of reference. That's why I 0:21:58.880 --> 0:22:02.200 came to church the way I needed to be around 0:22:02.240 --> 0:22:07.560 some other believers. I needed to broaden my frame of reference. 0:22:07.640 --> 0:22:10.080 I needed to remember that I'm not the only one 0:22:10.200 --> 0:22:13.119 serving God, and I'm not the only one going through 0:22:13.320 --> 0:22:16.240 And I need Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. I need 0:22:16.240 --> 0:22:19.720 the whole cast of characters in Hebrews eleven. I need 0:22:19.800 --> 0:22:22.960 Jesus to remind me that if he endureed the Cross, 0:22:23.160 --> 0:22:25.080 I can make it through this crisis. 0:22:30.200 --> 0:22:32.600 So we zoom out and we zoom in in life 0:22:32.920 --> 0:22:34.040 and what they. 0:22:33.920 --> 0:22:37.200 Really got to do back on the camera to be successful, 0:22:37.359 --> 0:22:38.240 to keep me in the frame. 0:22:38.280 --> 0:22:38.480 Touch. 0:22:38.480 --> 0:22:40.080 Somebody say, keep it in the frame, keep it in 0:22:40.080 --> 0:22:42.879 the frame. Yeah, because you've got to keep joy in 0:22:42.920 --> 0:22:45.080 the frame. You got to keep hope in the frame. 0:22:45.119 --> 0:22:47.600 Faith is the substance of things hope for faith is 0:22:47.760 --> 0:22:50.959 that invisible connection point by which I reach out and 0:22:51.000 --> 0:22:54.040 grab what I'm hoping for and bring it into this moment. 0:22:54.280 --> 0:22:59.280 So that requires anticipation. I'm building something here. By the 0:22:59.320 --> 0:23:03.640 way I'm building something I'm framing something. Here, I'm framing something. 0:23:04.000 --> 0:23:05.720 You gotta are you? Are you follow? 0:23:05.880 --> 0:23:08.040 You gotta That's that's their whole job. 0:23:08.240 --> 0:23:11.960 There are camera operators who have been who have been fired, 0:23:12.840 --> 0:23:21.320 and they're volunteers because they don't anticipate my movements. Now 0:23:21.480 --> 0:23:24.080 you know these guys are professionals. We got the A 0:23:24.200 --> 0:23:28.000 team on the cameras today and they are instructed. 0:23:28.080 --> 0:23:30.280 Look, Pastor Steven doesn't stand still. 0:23:30.840 --> 0:23:34.240 And just because he preached it one way at nine 0:23:34.280 --> 0:23:36.440 to thirty doesn't meet. He's gonna preach it that way 0:23:36.480 --> 0:23:42.680 at eleven thirty. So you gotta be ready. You gotta 0:23:42.720 --> 0:23:43.399 switch quick. 0:23:45.440 --> 0:23:46.679 And God is like that. 0:23:46.840 --> 0:23:50.240 You know, you can't just you can't just set the camera. 0:23:50.440 --> 0:23:52.359 This is how some of you live your lives. And 0:23:52.359 --> 0:23:54.199 it's and it's why you it's why you don't have 0:23:54.240 --> 0:23:56.320 any faith, by the way, and it's it's why you 0:23:56.400 --> 0:23:58.359 haven't seen God do anything in your life. Take your 0:23:58.359 --> 0:24:00.359 hands off the camera. Some of y'all just set the 0:24:00.359 --> 0:24:12.720 frame and then and they say, well, where is God? 0:24:16.240 --> 0:24:21.520 But if you have faith, the substance of things hoped 0:24:21.640 --> 0:24:26.080 for and the evidence of things not seen, Jesus for 0:24:26.200 --> 0:24:30.040 the joy that was set before him. 0:24:30.080 --> 0:24:33.040 He didn't get stuck in one spot. But for the joy, 0:24:33.160 --> 0:24:39.560 watch this camera. See I'm gonna show you how good 0:24:39.600 --> 0:24:43.240 they are. I can come down here. I can come 0:24:43.280 --> 0:24:48.160 down here. I turn around, hit this camera. Look how 0:24:48.240 --> 0:24:51.359 trained they are. There's nowhere I can go in this 0:24:51.520 --> 0:24:57.800 auditorium because they know I am libel and likely to 0:24:57.920 --> 0:25:01.399 do just about anything. So if you'll sit at the 0:25:01.400 --> 0:25:04.320 front of the church, you better know that too. But 0:25:04.480 --> 0:25:08.160 they might have to follow me to the back. It's 0:25:08.240 --> 0:25:12.879 your job to anticipate where I might go. Well, I 0:25:12.920 --> 0:25:15.640 feel the anoying of winging Bretzky on me. Remember when 0:25:15.680 --> 0:25:18.000 he said, I don't skate to where the puck is. 0:25:18.359 --> 0:25:21.160 I skate to where the puck's gonna be. I don't 0:25:21.240 --> 0:25:24.399 set up camp where God was. I want to know 0:25:24.440 --> 0:25:27.720 where God is gonna be next. So God lead me 0:25:27.920 --> 0:25:31.400 by faith to somebody, say I'm moving by faith. 0:25:33.200 --> 0:25:38.480 Catch me if you can. So that's their job. 0:25:38.920 --> 0:25:40.840 It is an anticipatory spirit. 0:25:41.160 --> 0:25:41.359 You know. 0:25:41.400 --> 0:25:44.240 The thing that faith and fear both share in common 0:25:44.480 --> 0:25:49.159 is they are empowered by anticipation. So you wake up 0:25:49.200 --> 0:25:53.520 in the morning and if you frame your day with 0:25:53.640 --> 0:25:58.080 the anticipation of depression. 0:25:59.040 --> 0:26:01.080 And discouragement. 0:26:02.040 --> 0:26:04.440 Some of you have framed your day to suck before 0:26:04.440 --> 0:26:05.320 it ever gets started. 0:26:08.760 --> 0:26:09.959 Got a tough week coming up? 0:26:10.280 --> 0:26:15.120 I guess you do, because you've framed it that way. 0:26:15.480 --> 0:26:16.400 I guess you do. 0:26:16.680 --> 0:26:18.679 I wouldn't want to be you this week either, not 0:26:18.760 --> 0:26:22.120 the way you're talking, because the worlds were framed by 0:26:22.400 --> 0:26:25.359 what was spoken. So when you say it's gonna be 0:26:25.440 --> 0:26:28.359 a tough week, you're speaking something that you're gonna see. 0:26:28.400 --> 0:26:37.040 But it came out of your mouth. And so the 0:26:37.119 --> 0:26:39.959 song hast had the right idea. He said, this is 0:26:40.000 --> 0:26:40.720 the day that. 0:26:40.640 --> 0:26:41.720 The Lord has made it. 0:26:42.359 --> 0:26:44.920 What's he doing? He's framing his day. 0:26:45.560 --> 0:26:50.600 I will rejoice and be glad in it. 0:26:52.840 --> 0:26:54.080 Well, what are you glad about? 0:26:54.320 --> 0:26:56.880 I don't know yet, but I will be glad. 0:27:00.040 --> 0:27:02.440 You're gonna freak people out when you start acting this way. 0:27:02.480 --> 0:27:04.560 By the way, it's gonna freak people out. 0:27:04.760 --> 0:27:06.879 You are gonna be at the same job you were 0:27:06.920 --> 0:27:09.440 at last week this week, and people gonna be looking 0:27:09.480 --> 0:27:11.320 at you like what happened? 0:27:11.359 --> 0:27:15.520 What happened to you? Do you get a promotion? 0:27:17.200 --> 0:27:17.240 No? 0:27:18.440 --> 0:27:23.720 I didn't get a new promotion. I got a new perspective. 0:27:25.960 --> 0:27:28.199 I got a new frame. Touch somebody saying I got 0:27:28.200 --> 0:27:31.440 a new frame. I got a new frame. That's what happened. 0:27:31.560 --> 0:27:33.160 Some of you who have been talking to. 0:27:33.160 --> 0:27:36.040 Your girlfriends about your husband and complaining about him. 0:27:36.080 --> 0:27:38.040 When you get around those girlfriends. 0:27:37.560 --> 0:27:39.560 This week and you're starting to brag about all the 0:27:39.600 --> 0:27:41.959 things he's doing, right, they're gonna look at you like, 0:27:42.520 --> 0:27:43.680 did you get a new husband? 0:27:43.680 --> 0:27:43.760 No? 0:27:44.080 --> 0:27:46.280 I didn't get a new husband, but I put him 0:27:46.320 --> 0:27:49.359 in a new frame. I started looking for something that 0:27:49.480 --> 0:27:58.439 I could be glad. I will rejoice repeat after me. 0:27:58.560 --> 0:28:00.000 Touch your neighbors say frame it up? 0:28:01.160 --> 0:28:02.080 What are you talking about? 0:28:02.119 --> 0:28:02.520 All right? 0:28:02.560 --> 0:28:04.560 When I sit down to do a video shoot, the 0:28:04.600 --> 0:28:07.080 first thing they have to do, well, I'm getting ready 0:28:07.160 --> 0:28:09.280 and putting on a little makeup. Yeah, you gotta put 0:28:09.320 --> 0:28:11.600 a little makeup when you do the video shoot. I 0:28:11.600 --> 0:28:14.040 know it's terrible. I know you used to respect me. 0:28:14.359 --> 0:28:17.199 I'm still a man. But they just a little bit 0:28:17.240 --> 0:28:19.560 of powder, Just a little bit of powder, and they say, 0:28:19.720 --> 0:28:23.359 hang on a second, pastor, we gotta frame up the shot. 0:28:24.560 --> 0:28:27.800 Wonder what your week would be like if you framed 0:28:27.800 --> 0:28:30.520 it up before you went into it. 0:28:32.280 --> 0:28:35.719 Frame it? Oh. I like the way they say it, 0:28:35.760 --> 0:28:36.240 frame it. 0:28:36.960 --> 0:28:37.560 Oh. 0:28:37.760 --> 0:28:39.320 I think that's what worship is. 0:28:39.240 --> 0:28:44.440 By the way, it's framing it. It's framing it. When 0:28:44.440 --> 0:28:46.840 I lift my hands. You need to know what I'm doing. 0:28:47.160 --> 0:28:51.280 I'm framing it. I'm saying that come win, come wain. 0:28:51.640 --> 0:28:55.160 I'm not afraid. I got Jesus in my boat, and 0:28:55.280 --> 0:28:57.120 I gotta faith the up. 0:29:00.240 --> 0:29:04.640 Frame it up. I lift my eyes to the hills 0:29:05.320 --> 0:29:08.360 from whence come at my health. I'm sorry, y'all. My 0:29:08.640 --> 0:29:09.680 help comes. 0:29:09.320 --> 0:29:10.040 From the Lord. 0:29:10.520 --> 0:29:13.000 What am I doing it? I'm framing it up. 0:29:13.440 --> 0:29:17.760 Can't look back, can't look down, Gotta look up. I have. 0:29:19.840 --> 0:29:20.040 Oh. 0:29:21.920 --> 0:29:26.640 So it's anticipation. And watch this. This is good. It's motivation. 0:29:28.040 --> 0:29:34.560 It's motivation. It's motivation. Hand me the picture in my office. 0:29:35.200 --> 0:29:35.320 Now. 0:29:35.320 --> 0:29:38.920 I need to tell you something. I am an image 0:29:39.040 --> 0:29:42.640 driven person, all right. So faith subs and so forth 0:29:42.680 --> 0:29:44.400 the evidence of things. And I've seen I have a 0:29:44.400 --> 0:29:49.360 great imagination. So I pictured you being at this church 0:29:49.400 --> 0:29:55.000 before you came right and I preached to you were 0:29:55.000 --> 0:30:02.160 in that seat. I preached until what was not seen 0:30:04.160 --> 0:30:07.320 became the reality that I hope for. 0:30:14.640 --> 0:30:21.840 But sometimes on Wednesday or Thursday, I won't feel it. 0:30:23.280 --> 0:30:24.360 You ever, just don't feel it. 0:30:26.160 --> 0:30:27.520 I still love God, I still love you. 0:30:27.600 --> 0:30:28.440 I love this word. 0:30:28.680 --> 0:30:30.360 It's precious to me, Sweeter than the honey from the 0:30:30.400 --> 0:30:31.800 honeycomb if you want to know the truth about it. 0:30:33.680 --> 0:30:39.800 But you know, I have to have pictures, So I 0:30:39.840 --> 0:30:43.360 have pictures all around the office, people getting baptized, people 0:30:43.640 --> 0:30:45.800 raising their hands to give their life to Christ, and 0:30:45.840 --> 0:30:47.960 then just different staff members, people. 0:30:47.680 --> 0:30:49.800 That have been there along the journey. 0:30:50.040 --> 0:30:53.040 About a year ago, one of our photographers caught something 0:30:53.560 --> 0:30:56.960 and whoever this is, I would love to know who 0:30:56.960 --> 0:31:00.959 you are. I would send you a check filet coupon. 0:31:04.640 --> 0:31:07.240 In my mind, I just kept like going down until 0:31:07.240 --> 0:31:09.120 I felt comfortable with the offer. 0:31:12.240 --> 0:31:17.320 But they caught a moment in worship, and they captured 0:31:17.320 --> 0:31:19.960 this moment and this is right on my desk where 0:31:19.960 --> 0:31:20.920 I preached my sermons. 0:31:21.200 --> 0:31:22.680 You see how al I just looking at me. 0:31:23.920 --> 0:31:26.400 That might be the only time during one of my 0:31:26.440 --> 0:31:30.040 sermons that he's ever been paying attention, but in this moment, 0:31:31.120 --> 0:31:33.360 and then you see my wife that one right there. 0:31:36.200 --> 0:31:41.840 See that in my mind, that picture is it puts 0:31:41.840 --> 0:31:45.040 me in the right frame of mind to remember that 0:31:45.160 --> 0:31:49.400 somebody is looking up to me, because look how they're 0:31:49.440 --> 0:31:49.960 looking at me. 0:31:50.880 --> 0:31:53.200 They are looking at me like I am their hero. 0:31:53.840 --> 0:31:57.240 Don't you agree they sess the interpretation that I have. 0:31:59.280 --> 0:32:01.880 I draw my own. You know what I'm saying. I 0:32:01.920 --> 0:32:03.480 can frame it how I want to frame it. 0:32:03.800 --> 0:32:04.160 Amen. 0:32:04.560 --> 0:32:08.000 So he's thinking, Wow, I have big shoes to fill. 0:32:08.560 --> 0:32:13.680 That's what he's thinking in my mind. And she's thinking, God, 0:32:13.960 --> 0:32:17.880 how what have I done to deserve this specimen of 0:32:18.000 --> 0:32:19.800 spiritual out her? 0:32:24.280 --> 0:32:25.360 Tell somebody frame it up. 0:32:26.840 --> 0:32:28.920 So sometimes I look at it and I think, you know, 0:32:30.040 --> 0:32:32.560 I got people counting on me this week, and the 0:32:32.600 --> 0:32:36.760 way he's looking at me, it motivates me to dig 0:32:36.840 --> 0:32:40.600 down deeper. Now, if this motivates me, consider Jesus. The 0:32:40.640 --> 0:32:47.400 Bible says, for the joy set before him, what is that? 0:32:47.400 --> 0:32:48.800 That's you? 0:32:50.920 --> 0:32:55.560 It means that while he was on the cross, while 0:32:55.600 --> 0:33:00.600 he was dying, the motivation that he had to Is 0:33:00.600 --> 0:33:03.280 this what the author of Hebrews is teaching that it 0:33:03.400 --> 0:33:08.320 was the glory of his father and the salvation of 0:33:08.360 --> 0:33:15.920 his creation that kept him there. So sometimes you need 0:33:15.920 --> 0:33:18.880 what we call an establishing shot hit the back of 0:33:18.920 --> 0:33:23.400 the room camera, an establishing shot. That's what reminds me 0:33:23.960 --> 0:33:28.400 in life that sometimes I can get so focused on 0:33:28.400 --> 0:33:33.040 one moment that I can compromise everything that's related to 0:33:33.120 --> 0:33:36.760 my destiny in one moment of pressure. So I got 0:33:36.760 --> 0:33:40.160 to establish it again and realize that what I'm doing 0:33:40.200 --> 0:33:43.800 by faith isn't just for me. This is a generational faith. 0:33:44.960 --> 0:33:47.720 I want something to hand to my kids that's worth. 0:33:47.600 --> 0:33:48.280 Holding on to. 0:33:51.600 --> 0:33:55.760 Sometimes your frame is too small. That shot is designed 0:33:55.760 --> 0:33:58.600 to give a context of the whole room for The 0:33:58.640 --> 0:34:01.600 perspective is the one that we put on television so 0:34:01.640 --> 0:34:03.800 people can go, Oh, people actually show up to hear 0:34:03.840 --> 0:34:04.480 this guy preach. 0:34:04.600 --> 0:34:05.720 I should maybe listen to. 0:34:08.000 --> 0:34:12.000 Motivation. And you need all of these shots in your life. 0:34:12.000 --> 0:34:14.040 You need all of these frames of reference. You need 0:34:14.080 --> 0:34:17.640 all of these perspectives. Sometimes when you have all this 0:34:18.120 --> 0:34:21.920 stuff swirling around you, you need camera one. That's the 0:34:21.920 --> 0:34:26.800 focus shot, that's the tight shot. I'm going to deal 0:34:27.040 --> 0:34:31.640 with what I'm dealing with today, and tomorrow is sufficient enough. 0:34:32.320 --> 0:34:35.520 The grace of God will cover tomorrow. Today is sufficient 0:34:35.600 --> 0:34:38.000 for its own trouble. I'm going to focus on what 0:34:38.080 --> 0:34:41.520 I've got to do right now now. 0:34:41.560 --> 0:34:45.000 Faith is the substance of things hope for so I 0:34:45.040 --> 0:34:45.480 need that. 0:34:45.800 --> 0:34:48.480 And then sometimes I need that lion, and I need 0:34:48.520 --> 0:34:49.000 that bear. 0:34:49.080 --> 0:34:52.120 I need that camera too. Shot. Give me camera two because. 0:34:51.800 --> 0:34:54.239 Sometimes I need to know that the God who was 0:34:54.280 --> 0:34:57.560 faithful in my past is no less competent in this 0:34:57.640 --> 0:35:00.719 present struggle. I need to remember that the lion went 0:35:00.760 --> 0:35:04.400 down and the bear went down. While we're talking about David, 0:35:04.400 --> 0:35:07.399 can we establish the fact that David was looking at 0:35:07.400 --> 0:35:10.239 the same giant as his big brothers, but he had 0:35:10.280 --> 0:35:14.160 a different frame. It wasn't too different, Golias. It was 0:35:14.239 --> 0:35:17.440 the same giant, but it was a new frame. I'm 0:35:17.560 --> 0:35:18.760 changing my frame today. 0:35:18.800 --> 0:35:20.440 That's it. I made my decision. 0:35:20.719 --> 0:35:23.960 I framed up my life long enough by limitation and lack. 0:35:24.280 --> 0:35:25.479 Today I'm making a. 0:35:25.400 --> 0:35:28.040 Decision that if the word of God was good enough 0:35:28.080 --> 0:35:30.520 to frame the world with, it's good enough to frame 0:35:30.600 --> 0:35:34.920 my struggle too. To seven people, tell him, change your frame, 0:35:36.520 --> 0:35:37.280 change your frame. 0:35:39.000 --> 0:35:40.040 Come on, you gotta do it. 0:35:40.280 --> 0:35:41.960 You gotta do it this week. Do it, do it, 0:35:42.000 --> 0:35:42.200 do it. 0:35:42.239 --> 0:35:43.279 Do it real quick, do real quick. 0:35:43.360 --> 0:35:46.040 Get your hands and put them like this. And this 0:35:46.120 --> 0:35:48.200 is what I want you to do to that stack 0:35:48.280 --> 0:35:50.520 of bills that you've been wondering about. 0:35:50.719 --> 0:35:51.400 Reframe it. 0:35:51.880 --> 0:35:53.399 Touch somebody, say, reframe it. 0:35:54.120 --> 0:35:55.879 All right, this is what I want you to do 0:35:56.080 --> 0:35:58.040 to the annoying people in your life. This is what 0:35:58.120 --> 0:36:01.200 faith will enable you to do You're gonna reframe them. Oh, 0:36:01.320 --> 0:36:04.239 you are no longer an annoying person. You are a 0:36:04.239 --> 0:36:08.440 part of my spiritual development program designed to bring me patience. 0:36:08.480 --> 0:36:10.040 I just reframed you and. 0:36:10.120 --> 0:36:11.120 You didn't even know it. 0:36:17.560 --> 0:36:21.480 Joshua and Caleb have faith because they had a different frame. 0:36:21.920 --> 0:36:25.800 What is your frame? My frame is this, If God 0:36:25.920 --> 0:36:28.520 is for me, who can be against me? 0:36:28.680 --> 0:36:32.560 That's his word? Right, Well, that's my frame. 0:36:33.440 --> 0:36:36.880 I'm going into every situation knowing that He's for me, 0:36:37.160 --> 0:36:44.759 and whatever comes against me, he's got it. I got 0:36:45.000 --> 0:36:48.839 a new frame, and so there are some things give 0:36:48.880 --> 0:36:50.719 me that. There are some things that if you're going 0:36:50.760 --> 0:36:51.839 to touch somebody, say change your frame. 0:36:51.920 --> 0:36:52.919 Change a frame, change your frame. 0:36:53.719 --> 0:36:55.640 There are some things that are in your life right 0:36:55.680 --> 0:37:01.640 now that need to be eliminated from your friend. See, 0:37:01.719 --> 0:37:03.920 that's the fifth thing I wanted you to get. I 0:37:03.920 --> 0:37:06.560 wanted you to realize that as you frame your life, 0:37:06.600 --> 0:37:09.680 as you reframe your situation, it's going to take focus. 0:37:09.880 --> 0:37:10.640 It's going to take. 0:37:10.520 --> 0:37:13.040 Perspective to have a new frame of reference, to realize 0:37:13.280 --> 0:37:15.120 that there are other people who have gone through worse 0:37:15.160 --> 0:37:18.080 and made it, that there's more to this life that 0:37:18.120 --> 0:37:20.120 you're living than the season that you're in. 0:37:20.320 --> 0:37:22.440 It's going to take anticipation to know that. 0:37:22.520 --> 0:37:24.040 I got to be ready for change and I got 0:37:24.040 --> 0:37:26.240 to be ready for challenge. But my life is framed 0:37:26.280 --> 0:37:27.080 by the word of God. 0:37:27.160 --> 0:37:28.480 So I'm not worried about. 0:37:28.200 --> 0:37:30.279 It because I'm more than a conqueror through Him who 0:37:30.280 --> 0:37:30.640 loved me. 0:37:30.960 --> 0:37:32.040 Because He made this day. 0:37:32.080 --> 0:37:35.279 I will rejoice and I've got a spirit of motivation. 0:37:34.920 --> 0:37:37.200 For the joy set before me. I'm going to endure 0:37:37.280 --> 0:37:37.920 like Jesus. 0:37:38.160 --> 0:37:40.200 But the writer of Hebrew says that there are some 0:37:40.239 --> 0:37:46.920 things called weight and sin that have to be removed. 0:37:48.640 --> 0:37:55.000 From the frame. See, this. 0:37:56.680 --> 0:38:00.480 Was an important part of the worship till I got 0:38:00.520 --> 0:38:05.960 up to preach. But now that it's preaching time, this 0:38:06.000 --> 0:38:10.919 thing is in my way. So it's not a bad thing, 0:38:12.239 --> 0:38:16.520 but it doesn't belong in this shot. So got to 0:38:16.640 --> 0:38:20.480 learn how that sometimes in your life there are some things. 0:38:20.840 --> 0:38:23.600 I mean, how annoying would it be if Mack would 0:38:23.600 --> 0:38:27.280 have left his stupid mic stand out like a rock star. 0:38:27.640 --> 0:38:28.600 This ain't Chicago. 0:38:28.920 --> 0:38:31.120 Come get your MIC's stand and get it out of 0:38:31.160 --> 0:38:33.680 my frame. Tech somebody say, get your down out of 0:38:33.719 --> 0:38:37.239 my frame, get your fear out of my frame. Sometimes 0:38:37.239 --> 0:38:39.400 you got to look at situations in your life and 0:38:39.440 --> 0:38:40.200 say not. 0:38:40.360 --> 0:38:43.360 Right now, I don't have time to carry this weight. 0:38:43.880 --> 0:38:46.920 My faith is a substans of something I'm hoping for. 0:38:47.640 --> 0:38:49.400 I'm headed in an upward direction. 0:38:49.880 --> 0:38:54.280 Get out of my frame. I'm sorry to get aggressive 0:38:54.320 --> 0:38:56.839 about it, but would you push five people and tell 0:38:56.880 --> 0:39:03.760 them get out of my frame? Out of my frame 0:39:04.719 --> 0:39:08.880 and looking looking see this is gonna be so freeing 0:39:08.960 --> 0:39:12.200 for you because you didn't know that you were the 0:39:12.320 --> 0:39:15.200 director of this shot. 0:39:19.640 --> 0:39:25.160 You didn't even know. But but faith is a frame. 0:39:27.000 --> 0:39:29.320 Faith is a frame. 0:39:31.560 --> 0:39:36.000 I would love for you to go by Target, Dollar General. 0:39:35.800 --> 0:39:42.440 Whatever your taste, and get get a get a frame 0:39:42.960 --> 0:39:47.879 to a picture frame, and leave it empty and put 0:39:47.880 --> 0:39:50.160 it on your desk this week. 0:39:50.440 --> 0:39:52.480 If you don't have a desk, put it on your 0:39:52.480 --> 0:39:55.040 coffee table. If you don't have a coffee table, put 0:39:55.080 --> 0:39:55.359 it on. 0:39:55.320 --> 0:39:57.680 Your window sill. If you don't have a windows put 0:39:57.680 --> 0:39:59.440 it on the floor. My point is. 0:40:01.840 --> 0:40:05.399 I don't want you to hear this message. I want 0:40:05.440 --> 0:40:15.560 you to work this message to see your life through 0:40:15.600 --> 0:40:17.480 the frame of faith. 0:40:19.640 --> 0:40:22.360 Every once in a while I will. 0:40:23.600 --> 0:40:27.800 Talk to somebody in our church who has received news 0:40:28.440 --> 0:40:32.440 that they have a very short time to live. Almost 0:40:32.520 --> 0:40:36.960 without fail, talking to that person encourages me more than 0:40:37.000 --> 0:40:40.920 it encouraged them. There are very few exceptions. Because they're sad, 0:40:41.160 --> 0:40:45.480 they're nervous, they're worried. All of that's there. But it's 0:40:45.600 --> 0:40:49.960 like when you talk to them, their frame has changed, 0:40:51.520 --> 0:40:54.239 and so they actually it's the strangest thing. I can't 0:40:54.239 --> 0:40:56.520 really explain it, but some things you can only understand 0:40:56.520 --> 0:41:01.239 by faith. It's like this wasn't a good thing that 0:41:01.280 --> 0:41:05.080 came into their life, but it gave them a new 0:41:05.120 --> 0:41:06.520 frame to see their life through. 0:41:08.719 --> 0:41:10.480 And they're not irritable. 0:41:10.440 --> 0:41:13.440 About some of the things that they were irritable about anymore. 0:41:13.840 --> 0:41:15.640 And they're not worried about some of the things they 0:41:15.640 --> 0:41:19.560 were worried about anymore. And they don't even give attention 0:41:19.600 --> 0:41:21.480 to some of the things they gave attention to anymore. 0:41:23.120 --> 0:41:26.239 And I started the phone call to pray for them, 0:41:26.640 --> 0:41:28.480 and I end up asking them to pray for me 0:41:29.840 --> 0:41:33.240 because they have a better frame, because here. 0:41:33.080 --> 0:41:39.960 I am worried about, worried about this daily stuff, and 0:41:40.000 --> 0:41:44.120 here they have a frame that lets them know that 0:41:44.160 --> 0:41:45.320 tomorrow isn't promised. 0:41:46.440 --> 0:41:48.560 I mean, if you've ever seen somebody who was about 0:41:48.600 --> 0:41:53.040 to die, and then they really started living. And it 0:41:53.080 --> 0:41:56.520 took the possibility that they might die to really start living. 0:41:56.760 --> 0:41:58.440 It took the possibility that they. 0:41:58.440 --> 0:42:01.040 Might not get to make it to see to walk 0:42:01.080 --> 0:42:03.399 their child down the aisle, to start being a good father. 0:42:04.560 --> 0:42:06.560 Don't, don't. 0:42:07.200 --> 0:42:09.160 Don't let your life get so out of focus that 0:42:09.200 --> 0:42:19.799 it takes a tragedy to change your frame. Don't let 0:42:19.840 --> 0:42:21.560 it be that it takes a funeral to make you 0:42:21.600 --> 0:42:26.279 appreciate your friends. Don't let it be that God has 0:42:26.320 --> 0:42:28.839 to take something away to make you appreciate how good 0:42:28.840 --> 0:42:32.239 it was while you had it. My advice to you 0:42:33.760 --> 0:42:35.480 is to change your frame. And I think the writer 0:42:35.800 --> 0:42:39.360 of Hebrews would agree. He would say that when you 0:42:39.440 --> 0:42:43.600 fix your eyes on Jesus, even if you haven't fixed 0:42:43.640 --> 0:42:48.800 the situation, if you fix the frame, fix a frame, 0:42:49.880 --> 0:42:53.960 bring into visibility what really matters, my God. We are 0:42:54.040 --> 0:42:57.400 so consumed with the wind and the waves that we 0:42:57.480 --> 0:43:01.000 are missing the one who is able to walk on water. 0:43:03.120 --> 0:43:06.279 And what I'd like to pray for you today is 0:43:06.320 --> 0:43:09.440 that your frame leaving this place for whatever your facing 0:43:09.480 --> 0:43:14.239 in your life, would be a faith frame. I want 0:43:14.239 --> 0:43:17.520 to pray that you would become a framer in your 0:43:17.560 --> 0:43:20.760 everyday life. And this means that you will see potential 0:43:20.760 --> 0:43:25.400 in people that other people don't see potential in. This 0:43:25.520 --> 0:43:28.000 means that you're going to stop spending all your time 0:43:28.480 --> 0:43:34.239 trying to frame everybody else's life and start framing your own. 0:43:35.200 --> 0:43:36.759 I just said a lot, and I didn't get a 0:43:36.760 --> 0:43:38.839 good response on it, so I'm gonna stay on it. 0:43:40.280 --> 0:43:43.320 Some of us are so busy trying to frame somebody 0:43:43.320 --> 0:43:47.040 else's future what they should do and what you would do. 0:43:47.400 --> 0:43:51.080 God didn't call you to frame anybody else's life. He 0:43:51.160 --> 0:43:53.600 called you, And if you'll ever get busy with the 0:43:53.640 --> 0:43:56.080 big picture of your life, you won't have time to 0:43:56.120 --> 0:44:03.239 adjust my frame. So I want you to stand in 0:44:03.320 --> 0:44:05.799 the presence of God, and I want you to do 0:44:05.840 --> 0:44:11.440 something that has been symbolic in the church for thousands 0:44:11.480 --> 0:44:15.640 of years. But put down your purse. The person next 0:44:15.640 --> 0:44:18.080 to you is completely trustworthy. 0:44:18.560 --> 0:44:19.319 Put down your pen. 0:44:19.400 --> 0:44:20.600 There's nothing more to write down. 0:44:21.440 --> 0:44:31.920 Lift your hands, yeah, lift them up. Let go of 0:44:32.000 --> 0:44:34.480 all of the things that have been in the frame, 0:44:34.800 --> 0:44:36.720 all of the shame past. 0:44:36.840 --> 0:44:39.640 You can't change all of the names. 0:44:39.200 --> 0:44:42.640 Of the people that didn't come on. Let's get in 0:44:42.680 --> 0:44:47.399 a faith frame of mind. What things are you hoping for? 0:44:48.760 --> 0:44:50.759 What are the things that you can't see right now 0:44:50.800 --> 0:44:56.879 that you believe not? Pray that the eyes of your 0:44:56.880 --> 0:45:00.680 heart might be open. I pray that the perspective of 0:45:00.719 --> 0:45:03.520 your faith might be ENLiGHT and I pray that your 0:45:03.560 --> 0:45:07.359 imagination might be awakened to see the good things that 0:45:07.400 --> 0:45:11.719 God has prepared for you. Lift your hands high. The 0:45:11.760 --> 0:45:15.200 spirit of the Lord is in this place, and I 0:45:15.239 --> 0:45:19.040 pray today for liberty and freedom in your life. I 0:45:19.120 --> 0:45:21.120 pray today that in the presence of the Lord you 0:45:21.120 --> 0:45:23.359 would find the fullness of joy and in. 0:45:23.360 --> 0:45:26.080 His right hand pleasures forevermore. 0:45:27.200 --> 0:45:29.719 I pray that whatever you've been looking at through the 0:45:29.800 --> 0:45:33.560 lens of fear would look different today when you leave, 0:45:34.280 --> 0:45:37.880 because of what the Word of God has reframed in 0:45:37.960 --> 0:45:41.600 your life. I pray today that the eternal Word of 0:45:41.640 --> 0:45:46.800 God would reframe your situation and yes, even reframe the way. 0:45:46.680 --> 0:45:48.480 You see yourself. 0:45:49.200 --> 0:45:52.440 God, we thank you today in Jesus' name that you 0:45:52.480 --> 0:45:57.960 are reframing and recreating and renewing. 0:45:57.239 --> 0:46:01.239 All things to look like your word. We declare it, 0:46:01.400 --> 0:46:03.600 confess your word over our situation. 0:46:04.360 --> 0:46:09.239 We declare it, confess your word over our insecurity. We 0:46:09.320 --> 0:46:12.279 asked that the same word that frame the world, what 0:46:12.560 --> 0:46:16.120 frame our lives this week, and we declare we will 0:46:16.239 --> 0:46:19.120 say the goodness of the Lord in the land of 0:46:19.200 --> 0:46:22.719 the Living. If you believe that, put a praise on 0:46:22.840 --> 0:46:25.760 it and clap your hands in the presence of God. 0:46:28.560 --> 0:46:29.680 Thank you for joining us. 0:46:30.000 --> 0:46:32.440 Special thanks to those of you who give generously to 0:46:32.520 --> 0:46:36.000 this ministry.
