The Cost of Extraction

Becoming our true selves is life’s greatest struggle — but also our greatest victory. As we press forward, we often find ourselves assaulted by the remnants of our old identity. Jacob’s story in Genesis 32 reflects this human struggle: the painful yet powerful journey of transformation. In “The Cost of Extraction,” Pastor Don Johnson offers hope for those fighting to overcome the pull of our old mindsets. Like Jacob, this battle often leads us into isolation where God confronts us with a timeless question: What do we do when we are our own worst enemy? Rather than running from our past, God calls us to face it. Jacob’s all-night wrestling match with God reveals that our dysfunction doesn’t disqualify us. God’s grace speaks louder than our failures.
