"The Believer's Judgment For Sin: Part 1" Kathryn Kuhlman

Well, sir, we're going to begin a new series of messages. Today, I don't think I'll call it a new series of messages. I'd rather just say to you that we're going to begin some new heart -to -heart talks. Because I never want you to think of me as being a preacher, a minister of the gospel. I never do. Believe me, I never think of myself as being a preacher, because after all, in the final analysis, I'm only a sinner saved by the grace of God, just like any other Christian. And these things that God gives to me by spiritual revelation, I'm more than happy to pass on to you. And then together, you and I sit down and had these little heart -to -heart talks regarding the one who is more precious to us than life itself and whose truths mean everything in the world to us. Blessed is he who hungers and thirsts, after righteousness. And I must confess that I am as hungry for spiritual truth as any person to whom I minister. And it's a strange thing about learning the deep truths of the word. The more he reveals to one, the more one learns. the deeper, the greater is the hunger. And it's just like that. And so today, you and I are going to begin this series of heart -to -heart talks regarding judgments. You know, the common opinion that the millennium is to be ushered in by the preaching of the gospel, and that after the millennium, there's to be a... general resurrection followed by a general judgment and then after that general judgment the earth is to be destroyed by fire is not scriptural. You will remember when we came to the conclusion of our little heart -to -heart talks we got in the resurrection there was proof that Every single physical body would be resurrected. All bodies, the scripture says. The body of every man, every woman, every child. All bodies will be resurrected. But the resurrection will not be general. There will be... the resurrection of those who died in the Lord, and another resurrection, separate and apart from the first resurrection, for the wicked dead, those who died without salvation, without being born again, without having accepted the Christ as their Savior. in exactly the same way when we come to judgments. There will not be a general resurrection, neither will there be a general judgment. This is not scriptural. The Bible clearly teaches five separate judgments. And these five separate judgments differ in five general aspects. They differ as to subjects. They differ as to time, place, the basis of judgment, and the result. Let's take the very first judgment. Listen very closely, and I shall try to speak slowly enough that you might have an understanding. and that there shall be no confusion whatsoever because before I will have finished these little heart -to -heart talks, you and I will have gone very deep into the things of God. And yet, that of which I speak is most important to every human being because someplace in these judgments, you will have a part. Let's begin with the very first. The subjects, believers as to sin, the place Calvary, the basis of judgment, Christ's finished work. Now, this judgment is past. I give you the scripture for it and it's found in the 10th chapter of Romans. The fourth verse. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Third chapter of Galatians. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law. That's past. Being made a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is... every one that hangeth on a tree first peter the second chapter who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness It's the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary for every man and every woman. And it is his perfect will, his divine will, that every man, every person who breathes the breath of life should accept his finished work. on the cross. He paid the price in full. He pardoned in full by his death the redemption for every human being. But it's necessary for the individual to accept the pardon, to accept his finished work. I do not believe in predestination to the extent that there are those who are born predestined to be lost. That is not scripture. The word of God says that he is not willing that any should perish, that all should have life everlasting. If you are lost, if you die the death of the wicked, it will not be because you were predestined to be lost, but because you refused to accept the finished work of Christ on the cross. That's right. That's right. That's scriptural. Salvation is for all. Redemption is for every man and every woman. Regeneration. Salvation, this new birth experience, is for every human being from the very first atom to the very last atom. But all will not accept. When Jesus cried, it is finished, redemption's work was finished for all. But you and I have been born with free moral agency. We are free as individuals to either accept or reject Christ's finished work on the cross for us. Now, For that one who accepts his finished work, for that one who accepts the pardon that is his on the cross, the pardon that has been made possible through the death of the very son of the living God, there is now no condemnation. Watch this first judgment. Oh, to me, this is marvelous. Follow me just a minute. Here is the very first judgment. And that judgment takes place right here on earth. In the life of the man and the woman who accepts Christ's finished work on the cross. There is a judgment that takes place in the life of that human being. When he accepts Christ as his Savior, that moment when he's born again, there is now, this hour, no condemnation. What does that word condemnation mean? Judgment. In other words, there is now no judgment to them which are... in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Oh, doesn't that do something to you? It's there. Read it. The 8th chapter of Romans. Don't ever apologize for being a Christian. You're the richest person in the whole world. You have something all the men in the world cannot buy. You have passed from condemnation. You're free. Christians should go around singing. Christians should go around the happiest people in the whole world. You have no cause to be grouchy. You have no cause to live a defeated life. Oh, for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made you free from the law of sin and of death. You're free. You're not living under judgment. There is therefore now no condemnation, no judgment to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Oh, beloved, I pray the Holy Spirit shall make this real to your heart. If the Holy Spirit can open your eyes of understanding as a Christian, no wonder Paul commanded the early Christians to walk worthy of their vocation. Let's go a little further. In the fifth chapter of John, It's Jesus himself speaking. Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life. When? Right now. Not after he dies. Not when he stands in the presence of Jesus. No. You do not merely have everlasting life after death. You have everlasting life now. Even when I'm talking to you, I'm sitting here, talking with you. If you are a Christian, sitting there listening to me, we do not have to wait until after death to have everlasting life. Jesus said, we have everlasting life now. This very moment. I'm enjoying everlasting life this very moment. You, this very hour, are enjoying everlasting life. He that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life and shall not Come into condemnation. There's that same word, and it means judgment. If you have everlasting life now, you shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life. Oh, to me, that's thrilling. That's marvelous. Therefore, I say to you, you do not have to be defeated in a single score. You have everlasting life this very hour if you're his child. You are not only a conqueror, you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who loved you. Look up and remember to whom... You belong.
