Stephanie Ike Okafor - The Dangers of Spiritual Misalignment

Life is like a vapor, and we may not understand what that statement means until you have a glimpse of what eternity is, and you would understand that what happens in this life is only a seed. And let my seed fall on good ground. I am only a seed and God, I wanted to fall in you. I don't want to be deceived by the pleasures of this world that I miss what this life is really about. Can we give Jesus Christ? You know, it was so beautiful just sit here, testimonies, and it just took me back to when I encountered the Lord. You know, I was nine years old when the Lord just encountered me and really changed my life. And prior to that encounter, I think my life would have gone in a very different direction because I just had a lot of anger issues as a child, and I was just very rebellious even though I was very young, because I just felt like God was the language I didn't have then, but the language I would give it now was a narcissist because we would go to church, would go to children's church, and you know, all they will talk about was you're going to hell. And they didn't explain why you know, I never knew that what the Lord would later on teach me was that he's not the one sending people to hell. It's just the reality of life without his presence. So if you don't choose him in this life, it's just the reality of what eternity would look like. But then the churches and the ministers that we would be when we were just little kids, Oh, they talked about was you're going to hell? And I said, you know what sent me there? So I could stop hearing these people. And when the Lord encountered me, it was just the overwhelming presence of his love and his power, his authority, knowing him as a father. And I remembered as a child, I never knew that what he will call me to do would the ministry. But I remember as a child, I just had a desire to be to people what God is to me, to reveal his love, to reveal his word, to reveal his authority. And it would have it that later on in time, he will call me the ministry. And so anything that you have received from me, anything that has blessed you or touched you, it's. Really because of Jesus. So can we just give him a praise. Amen. Amen, I'm so grateful to be here. You have incredible past us and also being able to spend time with them and just hear their hearts and just their love for Jesus is so refreshing. It's so beautiful. I'm grateful to staff, the volunteers, everyone that has made a sacrifice to put this together. God bless you all. My husband is with me. We've been hey, man, we've been traveling and very jet lacked, and so he was like, you know, let me stay back. I'll be in prayer. It's man to pray in secrecy than pray and maybe fall asleep, you know. But I just honor God for his life. He's just such a reminder of God's love and faithfulness to me, just his covering and his leadership. So I just want to thank God for him. But let us pray. Heavenly Father, we give you all the glory. We worship you, Lord. We thank you for your love and kindness, for your mercy. We thank you for the lives of each and everyone that is in this place right now. Lord, you have a word for them. You want to make your presence known. You want to show them your authority and your power you desire, Lord God, it is just who you are. To heal, to deliver, to set free, it is just who you are. You said that healing is the children's bread, and so. Heavenly Father, we thank you for many people have come here with different burdens of their heart. But I thank you that they would see you above all else. They would know that you are able and you are willing. And so Lord, even as the world is going to go forth, I pray that every callousness of heart be broken, that their hearts will refer to ground to receive from you, Lord God, that that which you're saying that, Lord God. We will not be double minded people. We will not be people that have a mask on and take it off and we're outside of what seems to be your presence. But Lord, we would live this thing, that this pursuit of intimacy with you would. Truly be our posture. And so have your wagh Jesus Holy Spirit, do only that which you can do. Glorify Jesus through everything that takes place in Jesus Mighty name. Amen, Amen, Amen, you may be see that. You know it's so interesting. It's a particular pattern I've seen with the Lord. Every time we go to a new continent and something always happens at the airport, and whatever happens, it's almost like it's the Lord's way of ministering to my husband and I of almost like giving us a confirmation of what he wants to do. And so this time around, we go to the airport. And when I was getting applying for the Australian visa, it was a very different process. You know, we didn't have to go anywhere, we didn't have to meet anybody, we didn't have to do any biometrics or anything. It was all online. And so they will ask you to send them all your documents, your passports and everything, just to scan it and send it to them, get certified copies and send it to them, which we did. And so when I sent them my documents, obviously they'll ask you, you know, have you changed your name recently or anything like that. And you know what people don't tell you when you get mad. Even though your name changes, not all your documents change. Okay, so my name changed from Ek to Oka for but my passport is still EK because we travel a lot and I just haven't had the time to update it. And when we sent in the documents and they you know, they sent us the visa. For some reason, they put the visa under Stephanie okafor but my passport is Stephanie Eke. They had the passport copy, but for some reason they put it under what is my name right now? My identity is. So we get to the airport and I'm like, okay, and I thought about it. I was like, I wonder if this. Could be an issue, and every time I wanted to call the embassy, the Lord would restrict me from doing so. I talked to my husband about it. He said, no, no, no, I should be fine. We get to the airport and it's not fine, and there is an issue and they. Mentioned they're like, yeah, the name. On the passport does not match the name on the visa, and so because of that, it's not allowing them to check me in. And you know, when people want to give you bad news but they don't know how, so they start trying to prepare you, just explaining to you why this is happening and why they're so sorry, and the whole time the Lord just says it's gonna be fine, but pay attention because I want to use this to teach you something, and so I'm paying attention and she's like, you know, well, let's just call and see if there's any way that we can override the system. And it was one. Issue after the other, and so we're just waiting there patiently. They're calling this person, calling that person, and then eventually they talk about, you know, and let them reach out to the Australian Embassy because they're the ones who made the mistake and they were able to, you know, update some documents in the system so they could override it. But the whole time, what the Lord was speaking to me about was something he showed me in a dream when I was praying about this meeting, and there was a message he gave me in the dream to. The people that will be speaking to in this meeting. And it was really a confirmation of the message on identity. You see what the name that was in the visa is my name, but I showed up with a passport that had my old identity, and so when I was trying to make it make sense, they're like, well, the Australian Embassy recognizes you as your name, and because you are, there is this confusion in identity. It was causing a delay which could have led to a denial because they even access They were like, are you guys willing to travel separately? Is this for vacation? I said, no, we're not traveling separately. But it was so interesting to me because you see, there are times in your life that who God has called you to show a past, in a season, in a time, the things you have walked away from when you find yourself going back to it, there are things that can't recognize you. There are opportunities that can even identify you, and there are things that are delayed and sometimes denied because you are not embracing the reality of who God says you are. And sometimes we feel like it is arrogant for us to embrace the fullness of our identity, not realizing it's actually pride to say that, you know what, God, I don't want to be this person. I don't want to look like I'm doing too much. Whatever is the word of God is your truth. And so the Lord so there speaking to me that even what took place for them to be able to override the system was what reveals his mercy, because you see, mercy is when you receive, rather when you don't receive what you deserve. Based on the documents, I shouldn't have traveled, even though it was not my error, but based on what was presented, I shouldn't have been able to travel. But you see, sometimes. We abuse the mercy of God because we have seen it play out in our lives time and time again. We abuse it that we are in, you know, one day on Sundays or when it's time for our conference or a meeting, we just were ready where we love the Lord, we want to receive from him, and oftentimes the reason we show up is also times maybe connected to our selfishness. We want to get married, we want to get a better job, we want to get a raised, we want whatever the case is. So we're seeking God to give us things, but not to give us himself. And you see, sometimes even though gods are making you give him more, mercy doesn't always cover. The consequences of the samment. When you're out of alignment. With the will of God, there are consequences, and it's not every. Time that God's mercy would cover it. So when I was in prayer for this meeting, the dream the Lord gave me it was literally he was a young individual and they had one task. They were supposed to go to the supermarket and buy some groceries. When they got to. The supermarket, they ended up seeing this. It was like a scooter, but it was like an advanced type of scooter. You don't have to put any effort. All you have to do is stand on it, and based on the type of pressure you put on the scooter, it could go as fast as a moving car. And so this young individual sees the scooter and it's so excited because of how fast it could go. And you will think something like that would be so expensive, but it was actually very cheap. And they were like, wait, I could buy the scooter. Forgot about the groceries, but the scooter, and was just so excited driving the scooter because it was so fast. And so where they lived is like was a a gated community. So when they come out of the gated commune, the supermarket was to the left, but because of how fast they were going, they didn't realize, oh she didn't realize. Rather, when she passed. Her home, she passed the entrance to the gated community and just kept going fast and was so excited because of speed. And then all of a sudden, someone tapped her and says, what are you doing here? Do you know where you are? And she's like, what do you mean? And they were like, this is like a gang territory. This place is not safe. If they see you here, they could kill you. And then she realizes her environment and she's like, oh, my gosh, I need to get home. I'm so far from home, and she starts trying to head back. So in front of her there are these four men who look like they want to harm her, but she found a way to maneuver. She saw them and she knew they were dangerous, so she found the way to maneuver passed them. Then she saw this beautiful couple that looks so innocent. They had children with them, They were just you know, but they were. Blocking her path, and she thought to herself, well, these people look nice. They don't look like they want to harm me, and they were smiling at her. They looked so calm and that she approached them. And they're asking them whether she thinks she's going and she says, oh, she's just trying to get home, and the gentleman's face completely changed. It went from this welcoming presence to almost demondic, and then she realized that she was in trouble, and she said to herself in this dream, she was like, I've been here with you, and I know that all I need to do is get back into the gated community that if I get back and she called it, it was called the courts, if I get back to the court. Then I will be safe. So she started running because at this point she lost the scooter. She started running and the man is chasing me and he's yelling at her, where do you think you're going? Your mind? Your mind, You're in my territory. Where do you think you're going? And she kept running with all she had and the moment she crossed into the community, he couldn't. Touch her, and she knew she was safe. But then the man said something to her. He says, I know you're gonna come back. I know you'll be out, and when you do, this time you wants driving because we will be right there when you for it. When I woke up. From this dream, I said, Lord, what are you saying and what are you speaking to? And the Lord began to speak to me, and there were some things I wrote down because I I didn't want I. I wanted to keep the potency of what the Lord was saying. You see in the dream, this young lady first is going on an assignment. There was a simple task she was called to do. She got distracted by what looked like success. If I buy this, then it's so cheap and it could get me to anywhere I want to go. You see, I remember when I would talk with my husband, and there was this thing. We understood that speed is only an advantage in the right direction. If you're going in the wrong direction, it's not an advantage to you. But sometimes we're so caught up with speed and wanted to attain and pursue something that we lose sight on the fact that we are not going in the right direction. See, the Lord began to show me that that gated community represented his presence, represented the place of his will and his purpose, representing the place of our obedience to him, representing the place of our complete surrender to him. And it's only in that place that we are safe. Proverbs eighteen ten says the name of the Lord is a fortified tower. The righteous run to it and they are safe. But there is a type of people that run to it. Those who are in right standing with him. They run to it and they are safe. And the Lord began to show me that this dream was a prophetic warning that the enemy knows that there are people your message you're gonna hear today, You're gonna receive it. You may be happy about it. You might want to change your life and say, Noah, God, I want to walk with you. But the enemy is banking on you being double minded. The enemy is banking on the fact that you're gonna say, well, I missed this other thing, or how do I survive? And questions start coming, distractions start to come, and there are things that would happen that will test your resolve. And he's banking on the fact. Then I don't care about what you hear today. I don't care about what you've been hearing for some time now. I know you would come back to my kingdom, and when you do this time around, I'm not gonna let you go. So the Lord said that many of you have experienced his mercy. You've experienced how he has saved you time and time again. I remember I met this young lady and she was sharing with me how she knows that the Lord has been calling her since she was a child, but she was running from his will and she didn't want to give me that many details. But the Lord began to reveal things, and she was just like, but she's just having a hard time really opening up herself to the Lord. And the Lord just shows me her life. And the first thing I told her is like, there is no shame in God. This is not what I'm about to say to you. It's not about shame or condemnation. It's just about truth. And as long as you hide your sins, it would eat you up. And I said, well, the Lord show me about you is that you sleep with married men, and you do it because of money and God has been protecting you. But the next time, if you find yourself in this situation again, you don't realize that the enemy has already planted someone who is deep in witchcraft, and what they will do with you don't You wouldn't know if you would recover from it. I said, get out of this lifestyle. She started weeping because she never said what she did, but the Lord. Revealed it to redeem her. The Lord revealed it not to shame her, not to condemn her, but he revealed it to say, get out of this lifestyle, because if you fall back into it, it could be your life this next go around. You see, sometimes it's even in the simple instructions. It might not be that crazy for you. It's even in the simple things the Lord tells you to do. But you don't realize is that your protection is in him. There are many things that. You have avoided because of obedience to God. There are accidents that cannot even locate you because of your obedience to God. There are things that didn't have the authority to take your life because of your obedience to God. Because in the place of your obedience, Heaven has watched over your life. But when you. Step out of that because you're distracted by the things of the world, you are legally in the enemy's territory. And when he realizes. That your heart is beginning to shift, and then he says, we might lose this one, so let's strike with all that we have. You see, there are times that even in the ministry, you know the truth of any ministry, and just to know what God is doing, just through change Women Conference and the ministry that is birth in it, it is without a doubt that witches are attracted to it. Because witches are attracted to churches, they have to come to the places that they are against, not even there against their master is against. But here is the funny thing, even in witchcraft, because. They're also deceived. Satan is a friend to no one none. He's a masterful deceiver and manipulator. But he's not your friend. He will pretend to be your friend, and when he knows that that pretends doesn't work, that he will try to cripple you with fear, to make you believe that you can never get out of his kingdom, to make you believe that this is the only way out, and it's a lie. And so there are times I've seen where witches would be in a church and their hearts begin to shift because they are trying to strike against the ministry and it's not working, and they start to question their master, is he really as powerful as he says he is? And God starts to work on their heart. But the moment the enemy knows that their heart is shifting, if you don't fully surrender to God, if you don't fully give yourself to God, if you allow the fear, and I'm telling you right now, their witches even in this room. And the truth is what the enemy is telling you is a lie. It's not true. He does not control your life the way you think. You cannot sell a soul. You didn't purchase. It. Never belonged to you in the first place. It belongs to God. You just drifted from him. I see it in Hollywood. There are people we mean and they say, you know what, we did a deal with the devil, And I'm like, you really didn't. You just gave him legal opportunities, legal rights to torment you. You gave him legal rights to work you. But you can come out of it, because nothing is final with sayan while you have breath in your body, and. So there are times that you would even want to come out of a thing. But then you're kind of like here and there and here and the moment the enemy knows you're wavering. If you ever fall back into his kingdom, he will trap you. You see, there is a scripture let me even go to it in Matthew twelve, from verse forty three to forty five, and Jesus is teaching about what makes a person even more vulnerable. It talks about that when an unclean spirit goes out of a man. It passes through dry places seeking rest. You see, even when people are tormented by demonic spirits, and sometimes it's not always about torment, because you see, there are times that you have been so familiar with a demonic spirit that you don't know where you begin and where it ends. Because anything that influences you to live a life outside the will of God, another spirit is involved. And this is not to scare you, it's just the truth. I remember. I'll use my life for example. I told you I counted God at nine and I knew him as Father before I knew him as Savior. And so there was a time when I was in college, in my first year in college. And everyone is doing things. That I felt like, man, they're having fun, and I feel bored. And I remember having a conversation with the Lord and I said, you know what, I'm gonna walk away from you from a little bit because it seems that living with you is atle bit boring and I want to do what everyone else is doing. And you see, the moment I said that to the Lord, another spirit took over me. My appetite changed, my language changed, The things I desire to do changed instantly. Even my brother. It's like Stephanie, I don't recognize who you are right now. I don't know this version of you. And it didn't dawn on me until the mercy of God located me. Again, are you satisfied with this life? And I wasn't. I was doing things that I thought I wanted to. Do, but it was another spirit influencing me. And then I said, Lord, I don't want to just know you as father. I need to give my life to us, knowing us Savior. And instantly it switched. The Holy Spirit had authority over me again. You see, there are times that you don't realize that what is influencing you to live a life outside the will of God is because another spirit has rest in you. Rest is about agreement. When I'm in the place that I can, I understand, we understand each other. We have agreement about how things should be. I find rest there. Have you ever been to a person's house. Imagine if you're not you know, I mean, everybody should be clean and tidy, But imagine if you're not the cleanest person in the world. You walk in and your house is looking a little messy, and you have to live with someone who has OCD. You will not find rest because there is no agreement in how you both live. You would be dreading going back to that house, like oh my gosh, when I take off my socks, I need to fold it and put it in a cabin. You will not have rest. So rest is about agreement that the nature of Satan, the nature of the monic spirits, have agreements with how you think. They have agreement with your pursuit. You see, the Bible will talk about sik first, the Kingdom of God. Six forth the kingdom and his righteousness and all other things will be added to you. Is showing you priority, showing you that what is the enemy to the kingdom is things. When your life is about the pursuit of things, more, money, more, this, more that you don't realize that the enemy says, oh, we have agreements with them. Their priority is no longer God, their priority is no longer their savior. It's things. So then a spirit comes in you and all it tries to do is to drive you for more more, And you're missing key seasons of your life because there is someone your call to be in a season, and Heaven cannot even recognize that person because your priority. Is not Jesus, it's things. And so when the Lord began to show me that in this dream, if you don't heed the warning of the Lord, now, if you get stepped back into the enemy's territory, he is going to try to strike you with everything. Because let's continue the scripture. It says, when an unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through dry places seeking rest, and it finds none. Then it says, I will return to my house. Look at what he calls human beings, a house from which I came. And when it returns, it finds the house empty, swept and put in order. The key thing is that I found it empty. You see, we want to be set free, but we don't want to surrender that. We want to experience freedom, but we don't want anyone, the one who set us free, to not occupy the space we want to. You know what, gorgeous, deliver me from this thing, Give me peace of mind, Deliver me from this the consequences of my action. We want freedom, but we don't want the Lord of Jesus. So when he comes back, he says, well, everything is swept put in. Order, but it's empty. The spirit of God is not residing there, because you see, if God is not lord over all parts of your life, he's not lord over your life. You can't pick and choose. It's not like a buffet. Everything has to go on your plane. And it says it finds the house empty, swept and put in order. Then it goes and. Takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself. Why does it do this reinforcement? It says, Oh, you thought you could kick me out, but you're still empty. So I'm coming back, and I'm not just coming back with myself. I'm coming back with reinforcements. You see, it doesn't always look like this horror movie. It doesn't always look because Satan torments is his last approach. The enemy begins to torment you when that's the only thing he can do to keep you, to scare you, to make you feel helpless. He doesn't always appear with torment. The Bible says that Satan comes as an angel of light. His tactic towards you is what will seem pleasing. You see, sometimes what these seven other spirits could look like are opportunities that lead to destruction. When the enemy wants to fortify his presence in your life. You said, you know what, God, I'm gonna obey you. I'm gonna walk away from this relationship. I'm gonna do X, Y and Z. That your best friend calls you and says I'm getting married. You say, well, I'm lonely. Let me go back to this toxic relationship. You're like, God, I want to live a celebate life. I want to follow your voice. I want to follow and do your will. And the perfect type you had in mind just approaches you, just says wow, hey, good looking. You're like, you know a lord that could start next month. You see what this looks like. It's not always what you think. It's not that you're sitting at home and seven spirits just show up knocking and they're like, hey, we came to No, no, no. There's something that they try to find. There's a vulnerability that they look for to fortify their presence in your life. What has God told you to walk away from? And this message is not just for the people sitting it's for even some of the men here. What has God told you to walk away from? And you think you are so wise, it's just about you that you can maneuver your way around it, and you don't realize that this life we're living, it's either serving God's kingdom or the enemy's kingdom. Your life, is it a reflecting the will of God? Or is reflecting the desire of the enemy. One is for you, one hates you. If you only knew what sitting feels when he sees humanity, everything in. You would want to surrender to God. You see, when you. Think about the disciples of Jesus, what is it that they knew that they were willing to be martyrs? They were willing to die because of what they had come to know in Christ. That nothing in the world was more pleasing to them than knowing that they would have a place with Him in eternity. Even before then, look at when you study the scriptures, you look at the three Hebrew Boys. What is it they knew about Jesus? What is it they knew about God that even when they were offered, hey, all you have to do is bow down to me. And the alternative is you would go into the fire, you would be burnt alive. And they chose that instead. They said, you could you know what, the Lord can save us. But even if he. Doesn't, we would not bow down to you. There was something they knew about God that had more value than what life had to offer. That if Jesus told me to walk away. From something, if he told me to not bow to something, if he told me to not surrender to my lust and my appetite and my pride and my ego, that there is something greater. And just because maybe you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it's not real. Have you ever been the person? I don't know how many foodies are in the room. Look at that, Just a bunch of foodies up here. I think we need to go on the fast, right. But if you're a foodie, you know that there are times where people are talking about this restaurant, there's a line around the block, and sometimes you're like, nah, it's never that serious. I'm not gonna wait two hours to try some pancakes. And then you try the pancake, and now you're waiting two hours to try it again. Because just because you haven't tasted it does not mean it doesn't taste good. Just because you have not experienced what is it that these people know about Jesus that they will drop everything doesn't. Mean it's not true. The prayer is God opened my eyes, let me see truth. There are things that God has called me to walk away from, very things that were very lucrative. But there was something that had come to know in God that regardless of what He tells me to do, I will do it. You see, personally, even this trip is obedience. We were just in London. We had to come. We had to leave London. We flew into la on Tuesday night. And Tuesday because I'm like, Okay, my daughter, this would be too stressful for her to go on this trip, so I leave her with my mom. But Tuesday night we get. Back into town on packing to pack, cooking so that there will be foods. For my daughter in the home. Once I'm done with that is to shower and start heading into the airport to start heading to Australia. It's not fun and this country is very far. It's not like I could just help on the plane and six hours I'm there. No, I am in tomorrow. My mom asked me once the time. I told her the time. She said, oh, that's not bad. I said, no, it's Friday. This is what it feels like to be in the future. You know. I was uploading something on you to be cracked me up. It gave me the option to upload it today or yesterday. I said, this is how far Australia is. But it's obedience because I know that when I'm in the will. Of God, I'm safe. When I'm in the will of God, I'm protected. You See, as I was waking up this morning, the Holy Spirit said something to me, and I've never heard this word before, and he said, learn from the osprey and will I asked my husband, I said, what what is an osprey? And he's like, oh, osprey. And he's the one he has this knowledge of just the most random facts. And at first he's like, is it an animal? And I'm like, an animal called an osprey? I'm like, that's interesting. So I research it and it's actually it's a bird and it's a bird of prey that is also known as a seahawk or a fish hawk. And it's known that an osprey nests near coastal areas, rivers and lakes and they can also be found in Australia. Now, what is interesting is that when they hunt for fish, they are known to be so accurate that one out of four, one out of four, they catch their prey one out of four times. And I was like, this is so interesting, and I was started studying. I said, what makes fish vulnerable to the osprey? And as I researched one of the things, he said, I'm gonna read it like I saw it, because I was like, I'm just gonna copy this and paste it because it's so good. It says lack of cover fish in open water or without protective vegetation or rocks are easy to spot. When fish leave hiding places and listen to this to feed, flea or chase smaller prey, they become vulnerable. And there was another There was another thing I found when it talks about when it wants to chase shining things, they become vulnerable. The fish is unaware that it is being watched. And then I thought about when the Holy Spirit said, learn from the osprey. It is watching you. It is waiting for you to leave your covering, and the moment you leave your covering in attacks. You See. This was so interesting to me because oh, yeah, I think I've wrote that down. Yes, look at this. Another one said. When fish leave their hiding places to feet, flea or chase something enticing, they unknowingly placed themselves at risk. You see, when I was thinking about this, I thought about a man by the name of David. Now in the Bible, we know David to be a man after God's own heart. And you know, it's not even that he was the king the people wanted. He was the king God chose. And when the announcement was made just within the confines of his family, when the prophet Samuel goes to his father's home Jesse to anoint David, it was just his brother's there, his father and the prophet Samuo. But it was an announcement also made in the spiritual realm. So the enemy is aware of David, just as the Lord has chosen him. And now the Lord makes it. No, it was known also to the spirit realm, and so they're watching David, unknown to him. His weaknesses are being studied. You see, we all have weaknesses. It's just who you are in the flesh. The Bible says that the desires of the flesh are against the desires of the spirit. So what God desires out of your life would not be in alignment with the desire of your flesh. And that's why the flesh must be in surrender to the spirit of God, not the other way around. So we all have weaknesses. We would be liars if we said we have no weakness. This is why the apostle Paul will say, I die daily, because every single day there is a weakness in my flesh that is after me. But I choose to die daily. And how does he do that? Surrender? So David had a weakness. You see, there are things in your heart you will never know exist until you're put in circumstances that reveal it. David was a man after God's heart, but he did have some weaknesses. When he was serving under the King Saul, and Saul began to recognize him as a threat, and Saul wanted to kill him. David was on the run. But when he was on the run, very interesting things began to happen. David first tried to seek refuge. You know, he went to the enemy's territory, which was the Philistines and the King of goth at the time he go to him. And the first time he goes to him, he realizes that the king might actually want to kill him. So David starts to pretend to be a madman. I was like David has some acting skills, some music skills, some warrior skills. I mean the man had at all. He starts pretending to be mad so that he can be set free. But a weakness had showed up, and it was the ability to try to cover who you really are for self preservation. It shows up in a suther way. He's not harming anybody, but it exposed a seed of self preservation in his heart. Then this amplifies in the presence of the same man. Later on, David will return to this same king and he would pretend to be one who is against the Israelites, because remember David is on the run. Anywhere he goes to Saul, the King, Saul and his men would locate where he is. And David really feared the Lord that he will never He never desired to touch Saul. He never desired even when he had the opportunity to kill him. He feared God too much. But it didn't stop the fact that there was still a weakness in David. So the second time around, David shows up to this king and he pretends to be you know what, I'm not for the Israelites. I want to be your servant. And the king welcomes him. Now, David will go on raids, and this is how they will sustain themselves. They will go on raids, and you know, they will take the livestock from the people and everything. And David, when the king will say, hey, where did you raid, he would say, you know what, he will call the towns of the Israelites. But in truth, David was raiding the towns of the Philistines. And if the king found out, he would have tried to definitely kill David. But see something so interesting in First Samuel twenty seventy eleven. The scripture says David would save neither. Man nor woman alive. So when David would raid a place, he will kill all. Now, if you're. Reading the scriptures from the perspective of an Israelite, it would look like David was just doing the will of God. He was wiping out the enemies of the Israelites. But that was not his motive. His motive was not because he was doing the will of God. His motive is right here. He says that David would save neither man nor woman alive to bring news to goth saying lest they should inform on us, saying thus David did, and thus was his behavior all the time he dwelt in the country of the Philistates. The reason David would kill. Everyone was to cover his tracks, not that he was doing it because he wanted to just while I'm here, let me just continue killing more enemies. No, no, no, he did it to cover his lies. He did it for self preservation. We need to stay here for safety. Let no one say what we're really doing. Because David would never be against the Israelites. He's after God. But he needed a place to lay his head. So when he would raid the towns, he would kill everyone to cover his own lives. It was a weakness. Now, when you are in the will of God, when you are in the presence of God, God knows how to protect you from what has the ability to destroy you. When you are not, you are vulnerable to yourself. You see the scriptures later on will tell us about a time that when kings are supposed to be in battle, and there's a reason. It shares that because David, you were supposed to be at war. The scripture says, when kings are supposed to be in battle, David remained in Jerusalem. You can study this. This is in second Semar eleven to one. It says, in the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David remained in Jerusalem. He was where he was not supposed to be. And you know what happens after that. He's on his rooftop he sees a beautiful woman, bat Sheheba. If David was where he was supposed to be, he would have been shielded from his own vulnerabilities. But he wasn't. And what the enemy had studied all along, it was time to strike. The enemy knew that he couldn't stop what God wants to do with David. The scripture says, the blessings of the Lord come without sorrow. So when God blesses you, when you abide in his will, that blessing it was never. Intended to also bring you pain. But if you, by your own hand open the door for the enemy, you can invite sorrow. So the enemy knows there's some things he can't stop, but let him see if he can at least try to corrupt it. So when David was not where he was supposed to be, then all of a sudden, Batshiba just happens to be taking a shower and he's looking at her and he desires her, and then he sends for her and sleeps with her. Then she gets pregnant, and David goes back into his old ways how to hide his sense, and immediately he devises a plan without even thinking. And the first plan of action was, Okay, let's bring her husband to come back home because everyone is at war. David, you were supposed to be there, but. Let's bring her husband to come back home. But the man will had so much integrity that he stood outside his home because he had the mindset that we are at war right now, that he will not even go and enjoy the comfort of his wife. And when David finds out, he's like, Okay, this didn't work, and he devises another. Plan to have the man killed. But you see, this time around, the mercy cannot cover the consequences of his actions because now David has shed innocent blood. It may not look that dramatic for you, but what you don't realize in David's case, he shed innocent blood. In your case, your your disobedience is also connected to lives that God ordained would glean from you. And the more that you hesitate to step into the will of God. There are people that will not know Jesus because you've made your life about you. There are people that will not come into things that were supposed to walk into because you made your life about you. And so. It's not the same, but it kind of is. Blood is still on your hands. There are lives connected to you that you don't even realize that would be understood in your obedience. And when David does this, the Lord responds and his actions give Satan legal rights because of what he did. The Lord says to him, Oh, the sword will never depart from your home. You see, when God elevated him, it was not supposed to come with that type of sorrow. But David opens the door to the enemy, and what took place in his family was chaotic and messy. His son killed another one, his son raped the sister. Then the son killed the one who raped the sister. Then that son Absolom try to overtake David and wanted to kill his father. The sword never departed. Another spirit began to influence murder, and then that son dies sorrow. And this happens why because when you are not where you are supposed to be, your vulnerabilities took over you. There are things God has the power to protect you from when you come under his care. You may not always understand the instructions of God. It's because God wants you to know how to be dependent on him. When the Lord called me into ministry, you know, I was someone who I grew up with a single mom. My mom is one of my biggest inspirations in life because she's just a woman who I've seen overcome so much and just has this fearless. Nature in her that inspires me. And I remember as a child, my mom would always say to each and every one of us, but especially me, because she was like, do not be a liability. She's like, you know what, I'm the only girl, I'm the last born. And for my brothers, you know, it's a thing. Men just understand that they have to be care you know, they have to provide, they have to do these things, and you know, women you might just want to chill or whatever you want to do. I mean, this generation is different. But as a child, because my mom grew up in a generation where you know, women were honored to be housewives, right but after my father passed away, that was not an option and she would always tell me, do not be a liability in anybody's home. And it ingrained in me at a very young age a desire for business. And so at a young age I always had there was always some strategy, some business I was working on. I always knew how to make money. I said, I would not be a liability. No, And so even when you know, after college, I got into real estate and my brother. My brother and I were flipping properties, were making so much money. And God is not against you making money. If you study the friends of God, they were wealthy. But here's the thing. When money has you, it's a problem when the things you're after literally control your life. Now, it's a. Problem because you have made that thing an idol above God. And why it is dangerous is. Because the enemy can use that to influence your direction in life, and you will not be as sensitive to the voice of God anymore. So when the Lord told me that for that season in my life, to walk away from everything, you don't know how painful that was. But there was something I knew about God that I knew I would be okay. It was difficult, and I didn't follow his instructions to the tea I'll be honest. I felt like God, we could bargain right, because You're like I should walk away from everything I had savings. But then he also told me where I should I should move to. I moved there, but he showed me where I should live. I said, uh uh, we have sacrificed too much to live here. I said, let's do this God. I would do all these things, but I will pick my choice of living because I still wanted luxury, which was not smart for my savings. And I saw the mistaken that because I ran out of savings very quickly. But what I'm trying to explain to you is that you will never fully understand why I didn't fully understand what God was doing. I couldn't see what was at the other end of the world. He stripped me of everything. I was someone who found identity in things. I found my identity when I knew that my bank account was feeling safe, when I knew that I could whatever I thought about, I could buy it. That made me feel comfort. You know, people would say things like, you know money doesn't make you happy, I said, liar. I'm just telling you my truth. So whenever I would hear things like that I said, yeah, yeah, not my story. I'm very happy right now, but I didn't have peace. I had happiness, but I didn't have peace. And when the Lord stripped me of every single thing and I found myself in a situation I never thought I could find myself in. What I didn't. Realize it was that he was working on my heart. He's like my daughter. I can give you anything, but the moment it has you, it's a problem. You will not be effective for my purpose any longer. And I need your obedience in the stripping. I need you to still stand even when you're stripped of all. You know that, even in the wilderness, you will still choose me. Because if you can do that, I can't trust you with much more than you've known. And I'm saying this to you because walking with God is not just cherries in the park. It's not always this glamorous thing that just makes sense. Yes, some of the people you admire, you know their stories now, but you don't know their process because process is hidden. It's not what we show on social media. Nobody wakes up and just puts on their Instagram. You know, all I had to eat today was rice. No after you ate that rice, you do your hair, and there you take a picture living my best life. Yeah, with only rice, So you don't see process. It's hidden. But if you're truly gonna walk with God, you have to go through it, and it is worth it. But you see, what the Lord gave me was a charge. You have to know that the only. Place of your true safety is in Him. It's not in your wealth. It's not in your pursuit of more money, more this, more that, it's not even in you know, God, I want this and I want to at that, and by this age I should be here. All of these things are deceptive. You see, life is like a vapor and we may not understand what that statement means until you have a glimpse of what eternity is, and you would understand that what happens in this life is only a seed. And let my seed fall on good ground. I am only a seed and God, I wanted to fall in you. I don't want to be deceived by the pleasures of this world that I miss what this life is really about. I don't want to be caught up with jealousy and envy, and I'm too focused on what God is doing in other people's lives, and it feels like God you don't care about me, and you don't even understand what God could be protecting you from. In the now, Jesus will say, if your arm will cause you the sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter eternity without an arm. This is an analogy. Some of you don't know that the opportunity you're looking for it would be the source of your destruction based on where you are. That it is the mercy of God to not give you what you're looking for until He works on you and he works in you. You don't know what's in your heart. You don't know what manifests out of you. When you get the things you think will make you happier in life. You can be happy and not have peace. You could be happy and not have this fulfillment that only comes when you're truly walking with Jesus. You see, Jesus is looking for a people who would be raised up and be radical in their walk with him. He's looking for a people that he can give more than wealth he can give. Himself to. See. Moses understood, Lord, if you don't go with me, I am not going anywhere. David. With everything that David amassed, the one thing he feared is, do not take your spirit from me. If you have the confidence of knowing that God is with you. You have everything. But that confidence comes with a decision that Lord, I'm gonna walk with you. I'm really gonna make this thing about you. I'm not gonna be back and forth in my life. I'm gonna create an environment for your presence. You see that they are people that even when the Lord wants to deliver you, it's dangerous for you to be delivered because you will go back to your dirt and it will put you in a worse situation. You have to surrender to him. I met this young lady and she was heavily tormented with so many things. And when she came to me, she was like, please, you have to pray for me. And she told me all the things that were happening to her. And the first thing the Lord said to me, She's not mine, and what I understood, I said, wait, and I asked her, I said. Is Jesus Lord in your life? And she said no. I said no, we have to start there. Because whatever is tormenting you, if it leaves you, it has the right to come back, and it would be worse. And we went on the discipleship journey before the Lord would give me. Permission to pray for her. You see, there are many who would even say Jesus is Lord, but he's not. One of the scariest scriptures in the Bible is when Jesus will say that in the last days, many would come to him and say, Lord, Lord, Lord, we did this in your name. We healed in your name, we delivered in your name all these things, and Jesus would say, get away from me. I never knew you. That is dangerous, and he reveals why he calls them workers of iniquity. You are never surrendered to me. You never gave your life to me. You just like the idea of me I was your vehicle, not your lord. You like the idea of coming into a place, coming into a church and there's worship and you can lift your hands, and the pastor's telling you about the things you could do in Jesus' name, and you were like, you know, let me try it. And there are things that happen not because of you, just the authority in his name. But you thought that meant I had a pardon him, and Jesus says, this is Jesus. It would even be different if someone made this up, like someone was just speaking out of context. Jesus is telling us that many are following a false idea of Me because they think that they can have Me and still have iniquity. They think they can say I'm their Lord but still live. Surrender to the enemy, and something the Lord recently taught me that blew my mind. It was about the Garden of Edith. And how you can be in the presence of God but not surrendered to him. You can experience his presence, but the experience of his presence is not a marker for surrender. It's just based on the location of where you are. Sometimes you can come in like some of you may have heard about Azusa in a lay what happened with the Azusa revival, And there was a time where they would have these meetings annually. And those meetings, the move. Of the presence of God was always unprecedented. Somebody could be walking off the street and enter a meeting and pray for someone and the person got healed because the atmosphere had been saturated with prayer. But if that same person tried it somewhere else, it wouldn't work because it wasn't even about them. They were just in the place where the presence of God was so potent. You see in the Garden of Eden. The Bible will say how God would visit man, But yet man did not have the capacity to visit God because man was not yet surrendered. Because they had a choice to make that would reveal where they fall, where they are aligned to. If they ate of the Tree of Life, they would experience the life within them, They would experience the life of Christ. But if they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they will It would. Mark their surrender to the enemy. It would be a marker of disobedience, because at the end of the day, God was not creating robots when he made humanity. He made you with free will. He made you with a choice, so they had the ability to experience His presence when He will visit them. But experience in the presence does not mean you're surrender to the Lord. And sometimes we confuse the experience of God's presence in the church, the experience of God's presence in a meeting, the experience of God's presence with friends to think that we are living for him, But. The real marker is obedience. Jesus says, if you love. Me, you will obey me. You would keep my commandments. That was the marker. He says, if you love me, you will obey me. Obedience is not that you're being robotic to It's not this religious thing you do. It is the outpouring. It is the overflow of. A true encounter with God, that there is something you come to know in Him that you're willing to give your life for him. You see, the. Bible says that whatever you sow, you shall reap. When Jesus died on the cross for you, he sold love, unconditional love because there was no guarantee that you will choose him. But that was what he put in the ground. If your heart is really good soil, to receive what the cross represents, the harvest out of your life is to do the same. This is the reason why we lay our lives for him, because he did it for us, and that is what we partook of. What it organically produces, and orange seed will produce an orange tree. So the marker to know did I really receive Jesus is that. The Holy Spirit begins to work in me. You see, Jesus dealts with the matter of the the transgression, he dealts with the law. He dealts with the wages of sin, which is death. But then when you know him, you have the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit deals with the influence of sin. That is why the power of the Holy Spirit in you brings transformation. So you would know if I really received of his Holy Spirit when there is transformation, that the product of the seed is to also do the same thing. If Jesus could lay his life for me, I could do the same for him. Many people want to argue one saved, always saved, or can you lose your salvation? That argument, to me is foolish because the argument is like, is the argument of an intelligent sinner. So what can I get away with is what you're really asking. It's not about if it's one saved. Always say if you were, if you really had an encounter with him. What produces out of you is organic. It's not for debate. It's not to try to negotiate your sin. It's not to try to figure out, well, is it works up the flesh or works up the spirit. It is just the organic response. When the Holy Spirit works in you, your response is to lay your life for Jesus. Your response is a transformed life. And if you're not there, it's not to feel shame or condemnation, but it is to come in humility to say, Lord, open my eyes. Don't keep me blind to my sin, don't keep me blind to my way of life, don't keep me blind to the deception of this world. Open my eyes. I want us to take some time and prayer. Just stand with me. Thank you Jesus, Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord. You see, the first thing that we must deal with is where you are with the Lord. That's the first thing. Do you really know him? Have you really given your life to him? I shared with you that I didn't know him as savior at first. I knew him as father. But I'll be honest. He wasn't my savior at nine years old. He wasn't my savior at ten. I just didn't have in my mind. I didn't know how to you know. I was just like I just need a dad. But I was still vulnerable. I experienced the presence of God some of the it's the love of God. He can encounter you at any time, he can meet with you at any time, the way he would walk through the gardens and meet with Adam. That was my experience as a child. The Lord will teach me many things, even though I didn't choose him, Yet he will show me many things. I understand how Jesus can say, how people can say, Lord, we did this in your name. We did that in your name. Because even when he was not my savior, the prophetic was activated in. Me very strong. I understood the healing power of God before he was my savior. Because he would visit, he will teach, but I wasn't surrendered. But it was in his love and in his mercy that he does things. That is why the love of God can heal an atheist. The love of God. Can heal the one who cursing him. Do you remember how. They went when they came against Jesus and Peter cut one of the soldier's ears. What did Jesus do fixed it? It's just the power of God. And you can never confuse works for fruit, because you can move in the works of the spirit and not have the fruits of the spirit. You can move in works and not be surrendered. I wasn't surrendered when Jesus healed me before before I needed to get a surgery to take my appendix out because then I was a child in Nigeria and I said, Lord, I trust you over in Nigerian hospitals at this time, and I said, you have to heal me. If not, we're not doing this. And the Lord supernaturally healed me. I wasn't surrendered. The Lord will speak to me of things to come and it would happen just as he said it. But I wasn't surrendered. And you can easily confused presence over lordship. He wasn't my lord, but because of his love, I experienced his presence. And you don't want to fall into that trap. And it's not a trap by the Lord. It's just a deception. Of the enemy to make you feel that that is enough. No, it's not. The reason he encounters you is because it's freely given. Jesus does not force or manipulate you into anything. He does not say you know what, if you accept me, then I'll do this for you. That's not him. That would make him less of God. That is what insecure people do. He is all. He's complete. You can add to God. You can't take away from him. That is why his love is. You can't even comprehend it. Because what he will do to the writers, he will do to the sinner. The sun shines on them both. But then you have to go a little deeper. Am I under the lordship of Jesus? Or do I just know what his presence feels like? They are Islams that have that have had many encounters with Jesus way before they ever became Christian. There's a gentleman in our church today. And and I remember when I did this series on the Monniz it called the Modernization of Witchcraft, and that was how like literally you know, he came to the Lord because he was deep in the occult. But guess what that series was not the first time that he hadn't encounter with Jesus. He hadn't encounter with Jesus Previously. Jesus showed up to him and said, you must choose between me and Shiva. Shiva is a is a god at you know, little god that is worshiped in Buddhism. And he still didn't choose Jesus. You can have encounters, but now he gave his life to Christ. He gets surrendered his life completely. And what I'm saying to you is that choose who you're gonna follow. If you are in both places, if you are in the Kingdom of God and in the world at the same time, you're really serving the enemy because Jesus is the only way to God. He's not one of the ways. He's not just a way that you can take and and choose another route tomorrow. And it's a time for repentance. It's a time to you see what I love about moments like this, because it's not just the word you're hearing, it's what the Holy Spirit is also doing in the world, and what the Holy Spirit is bringing to your memory. And you have to get into the place of say, Lord, I need you. And I'm not talking about you trying to figure this out on your own strength. No, it's a place of humility. Lord. I don't know what's in. Me, and I know I have my fears and my concerns and the things that worry me about. If I follow you, if I do this thing you're asking me to do, I don't know what my future would look like. But there is something so powerful about dependency on God. It shows the arm of the Lord. I remember, you know, as a young minister when I started ministrying in our church, and you know, we have a church whereas young you know, good. Looking people all over the place. And then I was single at the time, and I remember one time I was talking about David. This was the fun. This is just a random example, and I said randomly. I was like, you know, David was probably bald and had beard. It was just random. I was not thinking so much of it. After service, a bald man with beard came to me. I said, I'd like to take you. Out for a day. I said, sir, that's not what I meant. It's about David, not you. But then I realized, I was like, God, there's so many distractions because I'm single and I desire marriage. And I remember saying to the Lord that I was like, Lord, you are God enough. I need to consecrate this assignment as holy. And I said, I'm gonna make a covenant with you. And this is not biblical, this is not theology. Just was just between me and God. I said, I'm gonna make a covenant with you that I am not gonna date anyone from this church. And I needed to do that to keep myself focused because I don't want to be preaching. And I look at somebody that said, Wow, that be my husband. And then the person comes and ask you for prayer. You pray really long, you start adding to the word. The Lord is saying, your wife is in front of you, just in front. Just open your eyes right now, you'll see her. No, this is manipulation. And I said, God, I don't. Know what's in me. I don't want that to come out. And I said, Lord, you know what, I'm gonna make a covenant with you. And I remember when I told my mom. My mom was like, I wish you didn't tell me, because now I'm all worried. All you do is go to church. Boy. You see, when you. Put yourself in the place of dependency on God, he reveals himself. The way I met my husband could only be orchestrated by God. And I'm sharing this example because some things you're gonna do would not make sense. Something the Lord will call you into would not make sense. But would you rather see the arm of God over your life or the arm of man who can take it away? You want to see the hand of God. So if you're in this room right now, The first. Thing we're gonna deal with is your heart. And if you know that, you need to come back to a place of repentance, a place of saying, Jesus, I don't want to just know your presence. I want to know your lordship. I want to be surrendered to you. I might be scared, but I want to do this anyway. If that is you, just run to the altar very quickly. We're gonna pray. Thank you Jesus, Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord. As a holy spirit ministers on your heart, let him, let him. You know that you've been just even when you look at the decisions you've been making in your life, you can't be honest and say I've made a lot of decisions out of fear and just no music. Actually, because some of these things I see. You know, even if you're in the band right now and it speaks to you, I want you to come to this altar because the Lord is after everyone in this room. Don't just find yourself in a place where you want to. You're so focused on how you look, and you know what, I'm gonna just do it in my heart. No, there are moments where something is staring in the atmosphere, and it's. Your boldness and surrender. That unlocks you, not your hiding. So take a moment and pray and speak to your father, because repentance is not something someone else can do for you. It's between you and the Lord. Yes you're scared, that's okay. But be in the hand of God and be scared, and let his faithfulness show you that, my daughter, my son, you have nothing to worry about. There are things that the Lord will call you out of. Look when I was called out of business at that time, there were many nights I. Cried myself to sleep. It was foreign to me to live in a manner that I was just dependent on God. I said, Lord, I want to be dependent on you on other things, not my day to day life. I would literally have conversations with God. I'm like, Lord, this is not the wilderness. I am not trying to look for manner every day. I'd rather have manner plan for the month or the year and the Lord. You know, sometimes God will just entertain your foolishness, and there are times where you feel like quitting. You literally get to the edge and you're like God, I don't know if I have it. But because your heart is to serve him, you will see how He will encounter you in a way confirms you're on the right path. And it's worth it for some of their relationships you need to get out of, and you know it. It's keeping you in a toxic cycle and you're only in it because you don't want to be lonely. There are things that God is calling you away from, and you have to just take ownership of that and say. God, I'm gonna trust you more. Than I trust my own wisdom. I'm gonna trust you more than my need for the validation of my friends and my surrounding. I'm gonna trust you more. Thank you, Holy Spirit, Thank you Holy Spirit. Much less love and beauty and the world nothing in this swam side as five Jesus sure the cop I want untrup who is like you Lord? Who is like Cue? Lord? And all there. Martress, love and beauty, martialless, love and beauty and this. And nothing nothing. Nothing, Because you are the cap Jesus, youre the cop that I. Want come and see nothing in this world nothing. You're the only cop, the neighbor around, right, Jesus. Here, I've such shore love about the world. I can say nothing, nothing nothing. You're the one the fields a car Jesus. Your I've tested and see it's only you can satisfy nothing. It is. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, here. One more time. Nothing in this. One suns five, my jees As, you are the cop down want one dry. And so we're seeing your presences. Your it's heaving. To me. To me, when I have you, I have everything. Your prayers yours heaven. It's heaven. It's heaven to me when I have you. I'm not in need. I know you're my shep. But your bresents, your presents. Your prayers. Is heaven Lord to me to me, Ah, your. Bresss, your breath, your prayer. Is heaven is here to me to me what chees a hot ches a Jesus, your. Breath, your prayer. All I need is you. When I have you, I have everything. When I have you, I have this, I have joy, your breath, your prayer in you, there is fullness of joy. In You, I live and move and have my being. Oh your presence, your prayer. I just want to read a word that the Lord just put on my heart Isaiah sixty four, verse four. It says, for since the beginning of the world, men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eyes seen any God besides You, who asks for the one who waits for him. Let us pray, Heavenly Father, I thank you for your daughters in this room. I thank you for what you're staring up in their hearts right now. I thank you Lord, because this is just the beginning. And I think you, O, Heavenly Father, that you would give them enduring power, that they would know that you are a God that acts for those who waits on you. Teach them how to wait on you, God, Teach them how to not easily run back to that which you delivered them from, because the enemy is banking on them coming back out. The enemy is banking on them being attracted by the deceptive nature of the pleasures of life, that he would ensneer them. But I thank you Lord, that they would have the consciousness that it is in your will, it is in obedience to you that we build our arc, that we find our safety. So, Lord, as your children are coming to you with hearts open to recommit their lives, and for some committing their lives to you, Lord, empower. Them, raise them in truth. Let the power of the Holy Spirit begin to transform them from the inside out. And we will give you all. The glory in Jesus' name. Now the Lord is just showing me if there's anyone who needs healing in the body, just lift up your hand, because I'm seeing there's someone with it. It's your right leg and it's. Almost like, I don't know what happened, but you can't really bend your knee, you know. For you to just literally lift up your leg and bend your knees very difficult for you.
