SERVING GOD THROUGH SUFFERING

But let's look at serving God through suffering glory to God. Now there are fourteens I'll be dealing with tonight. The first is to show you the classics or categories of believers. Because all of us God are in shurch. We say we are believers in Jesus. True, but we are not in the same category. You know, in Salvation, I tell you we are equal, but in Kingdom we are separated into kedas. Even in the natural It's true. We are all Nigerians. So there are rights we have as citizens of Nigeria, for instance. The right to vote and be voted for. But there are certain things you cannot do even if you're Nigerian. For instance, I can't carry God and be walking around. Imagine if I come here with God, there will come and say, who gave you the clearance to carry firearm? I'm like, I'm in Nigerian. No, it's not for every Nigerian. For a unique group of Nigerians. Either you are in the police force or you're in the army. You have to be in the armed forces to carry you. Don't just say you're in Nigerian. No. Now, they are critical. Information about security in this country that they can't tell you won't do you're in Nigerian. Number one, you won't do anything with it. Number two, if you have it, you mass about chads matters of national security because to. You, it's with this story. You know, spit somewhere you're buying, right, and you say, do you know that? No, that information is not for do you know that information is to secure the country. So information is for some people, and that's why it is in the Kingdom. That's why sometimes become we said, God is saying this about this country, and the Christian is like, when did God speak? How didn't I hear? Your ears are not open? There? In the first is falken to sertain category of people. And so I want to begin by showing you categories of believers and then I'll go further to show you a few other things. But tonight let's begin from categories of believers. There are three basic categories of believers in the Kingdom of God. Number one are those were called saved brethren or saved believers. This one's are people that believe that Jesus is the son of God. They believe he died for their things. They believe he was buried. They believe on the third day he declare him to be your lord. So this is a conviction that is categorized into savior and lordship of Jesus. Christ in your life. If you are at this level, then you are a saved believer. John chapter one. That's one to four and best twelve or the eleven to twelve. Now, the Bible said, in the beginning was the world, and he said the word was with God. And he said the world was God. And he said, the same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him. Without him, was not anything made. That was made. In him was life. The life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, the darkness comprehensive. More so, in the beginning was the world. The world was with God, The world was God. So you must believe that he is God, or he is the Son of God, because that's fourteen said, and the world became flesh and amongst us, and we beheld this glory, the glory as of the only begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth. So you believe is God and his son of God. And you don't just believe that. You now go further to believe that this son of God that became pleashed died for your sins, meaning that you could not have done anything about your sins. There's no way you that procured salvation for yourself. So you depend on him to give you salvation. And the way he gets salvation to you, it's not just by his soffriend decree that you are saved. If it does, he's able to do that because it's God. But if he does that, he will be unjust because himself has declared that the wages of sin is death. Roman sixth, verse twenty four, twenty three. The wages of sin is death. He said, Oh, so he cannot just look at. The sinner and say you are saying no. He has declared that the soul that. Senate shall die. So if you are a sinner and he shows up and. Says you are safe, that would be him by your letting the integrity. Of his own kingdom. So, because he said the wages of sin is dead, anybody who is a sinner must die. But here is a complexity. His love won't let him what you die. His nessy won't let him what you die. So on one side, his just insists that you die on another side, his Methy said, you cannot die, because the Bible said in James too thirteen massy prevails over judgment. So what will God do. He had to balance the equation, and the way he would balance the equation is through divine wisdom, produce a sacrifice that can stand in your place to die for you. So he will satisfy the justice. Of his kingdom and at the same time satisfied the messy of his nature. Unfortunately, there is no sacrifice that can take away sins, because the Bible was already stated that without sharding of blood, there is no forgiveness of things. So a blood must be shared. And the only blood that is pure in all of the universes of. God is the blood of Jesus. So Jesus had to step forward in your place and die for you. So on the cross justice was met and Meshy was also satisfied. J Justus said, the wages of sin is dead, so he died in your place. Mesphy said, you should not die, and so you are alive. But he died in your place. So logically, from the realm of God, justice and messy is satisfied. This is why if you don't believe that Jesus died for your sins. There's no way you can believe it. And even if you die for yourself, you are already beauty. Are you following? So you believe is the son of God in flesh. You believe that it died for your sins, and then you believe that he rose from the dead. Because if it does not rise, the sinner has been killed, for the new creation will not come my life. So why the death killed the old man? The resurrection gives life to the new man. So Christianity does not begin on the cross. Christianity begins at the resurrection. The old man was killed because as far as God was concerned, when Jesus was on the cross, you were on the cross. He sees you in Christ because Jesus was dying for you. It's a mystery of substitution. But you see, if only the cross was what it did, all of us would have died, but you would not have had life because the cross was to kill you. The cross was not designed to give you life. The cross was designed to kill the old man. But the resurrection is designed to give life to the new creation. So when you believe Jesus died for you and was buried. You also have to believe that he rose from the dead, because that resurrection is what activates you. So when God is seeing you now, he's not seeing the old man. That's why Paul said in Galatians two twenty is that I am crucified with Christ is the never the less I live is that the life I now live in the flesh. I live by the faith of the Son of God that died from me. So he died from me, and when he rose from the dead, I rose with him. In Romance chapter six, you read from verse four to five, and Paul made it clead to us, is that if we were dead with Christ, and when he rose from the dead, we also are quick kinged to the newness of life. This is the summary of the gospel. This is what means for a saved believer. In fact, the whole summary of this discussion. Paul captures it. In First Corinthians fifteen, verse three to four. It said, you're your bear in mind. I wish you project these scriptures. This this is Bibue study. So we have to look upon scriptures. First Corinthians, let me read that for you. You are Bible students. Here so I hope you follow. Fifteen. Let's be from best one past that morava brethren, I declare onto you the gospel which I preached onto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand is that by which also you are saved. By this gospel, you are saved. That's why I call them saved believers. The you keep in memory what I preach onto you unless you have believed in there? What is the gospel? For I deliver onto you first first of all that's which I also received. How that Christ died for our sins according to the scripture, and was buried and rose, they taught they according to scripture. So every saved believer believe that Jesus is the son of God. Every save believer believe that Jesus died for his sins and was buried. Every saved believer believe that Jesus rose from the dead, and every save believer does not stop there. Hey confesses they resurrected Christ as his Lord and civil. That's why Romance ten, verse nine and ten. The Bible says, if we believe in our hearts the Lord Jesus and confessed with our mouths, is that we are safe? Is there for with the. Heart man believed that onto right seousness is there. But with the mouth confession is made onto salvation. So you are saved if these five things, this secute or protocol is complete in your life. You believe that Jesus is the Son of God. You believe it died for your things. You believe it was buried, Your believe it rose from the dead for your justification. And then you confess with your mouth is lordship. Over your life. That's the first class of believers. If you don't have this qualification, you may be in church. In fact, you may be born in church. You may live all your life in church. When you cross over to the other side, you discover you are not said. But you see it's not enough to stop at the level of a safe believer. You have to go a bit further to this category of believers, which. Are discipled believers. After you are saved, then you need to be discipled because. There is a growth process in this kingdom. You're most muture. Imagine if you get that to a child and all the child ever remains, if a one year old child the way that child was the day the child was born, hope you know after two years, three years, four years, if the child remains like that to become an issue of concern, because every served person is considered born again in the kingdom. But after you are born again, you need to grow. So when we speak of discipleship, we are talking about the training process of the kingdom that brings the believer into maturity. Now why disciples Why salvation has five credentials, maturity has seven. And every self believer who is. Discipled must attain the seven levels of. Maturity in the kingdom. And if you're study Epicians chapter four, verse eleven to thirteen, you're gonna see the several levels of maturity per third. And this is what this is what a discipled believer is number one per third. And he gave some to be. A postus, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers for the equipping for the maturing of these things. The world is catactismos. It means to equip with light and bring to maturity because a seph believer can be a child, and a child cannot inherit the kingdom. You know, Isaiah ninth, verse six said onto all their child is born, nothing. Happened if the on to us. Their son is giving the moments sonship was mentioned, it said the government should be upon his shoulder. You don't give kingdom to children. Imagine, I keep saying this humorously. If two year old children or three years old godda in their thousands, and they are resisting the government, if you will be shocked. First had who taught them to do this? Then the next thing will be help them quickly. They're endangered. They are children. You can't give kingdom to children. Your study at dad Chata three, when kingdom is about to be taken over, the Bible said children become your princess. When children are in charge, even if you give them kingdom, they will lose it because galishans forms that they air. So long as it's a child, he's the savant, so. He's goddam heir. But is the child so he taboo the sevant. So every child or sat believer must be discipled. And where you are discipled, there are certain qualities that your life commands. Number one, except for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the defining, for the growth the maturing of the body of Christ. He now began to show us the levels of maturity number one. Instead, they will come to the unity of defeat. When a person becomes mature, he doesn't see the next person by his side as a stranger, because he now sees all the fust at body of Christ. If you are in charge and you see see the next person by your side as a black, a white, and eble person, a ouseide person, you are not yet mature. You can talk mysteries. You are a baby. You can speak in diverse tones. You are baby. You can raise the dead. You are baby. And this is not me talking Paul speaking in First Corinthians one, you read verse four to seven. Paul made it clear to us. They say you can know all mysteries. Have all knowledge, speaking all tones. It doesn't make you mature because if you go to first Corinthians three one, the ten people that have all knowledge have all utterance, that knows all mysteries. First that I speak to you as babes, because there was five amongst them. The other persons, the other patients are not that person. Oh, you are from Taraba, you are from your Lah. You are the pride in it. When we come into the church, we become one body. In fact, the person next to you. It's not just your brother or your sister is a part. Of a body. You are part of, just the way they hand and their legs are parts of the same body. It would be full listener's chizophrenia for your hand to slap your face. But that's what children do. That's why somebody can be offended at the other person. Keep moneys, and then when you call them to settle, you'll see the way that we am themselves with their respective positions because. They think that we win the argument. Imagine if your your leg and your eyes are fighting, it's not something that should be understandable. But if we are babies, that's how we leave. I'm not saying offense we not rise, but I'm saying when there is an issue, you approach yourselves, iron it out and continue. My mom told me many years ago is that the closest companions on. Earth is the tongue and the treats the ear. From time to time, the tongue bite the treath. They solve their problems and they continue. Glory to God. Do you get that because the teeth protects the tongue and the tongue cleans the teeth, they need themselves. It's part of one body, so fast that the proof of maturity is the unity of the faith. One baptism, one Lord, one life, one faith, one s period. That's what binds us together. Number Two past that when we are discipled, we come to the knowledge of the town of God. That means you get to a point where you're not Jesus. By experience, Jesus is no longer a theological subject to you. I can teach you on the pattern of Jesus. In fact, in theology we call it christology. So I can teach you the pattern of Jesus from the theological person as God, the Son, as. Son of God, as son of Man, as Christ. I can teach you Jesus from his finished works, that is, his pure life, seamless life, his miraculous existence. His death, very reservation. I can teach you Jesus from many dimensions, from. His christ office as king, as priests. I can't teach you all of that. But if you don't know him by experience, you will never grow. That's why John speaking in fact, John one be one. He said that which was from the beginning, which we have seen, we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the world of life. It's what we commit to you. So it was something they had of, but the point. Came they handled for themselves. So past that. A much child believer is one who has an experience with Jesus. Listen, the reason nobody can offend you to stop serving God, it's not because they cares for you. It's because you know Jesus too deep to deny him. So even when they said get out, you know they did they come before you kill. It was the one you met in the spirit that told you come. And because it's the one who said come, nobody can say go. But when you find people text that the actions, you know they don't know Jesus. They may be your jams. But when you know Jesus, his character he manifest through you. Number three, maturity is he said, onto a perfect man. So the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God, a perfect man. Now, who is the perfect man in this context, it's not necessarily a man who is seinless. The Bible said the righteous first seven times seven times they rises again. I believe sinless. Pecsion is possible because the Bible said, be here holy as your heavenly Father is holy. He's not saying grown mature, because God is ancient of this. When he's a holy In that context, it means it's separated onto God and become. Exactly like God. So I believe in that. But what is telling us here is a different subject. When he said onto a perfect man, he's preferring to a test where you have authority over your flesh, because if you read James three vers two, the Bible said him. That has rule over his tongue. He said, that is a perfect man. When you are at a level where. Your emotions still dictates for you and to you. You are immature. I feel like it, and you take action. That's the baby Christ said, Oh somebody offended me, So what you affected me to do? I'm just human. He doesn't have authority over his emotions. You know what that path that I beat my body first Corinthians nineteenty seven. I bring it on that subjection. When you are mature, you can tell your emotion behaviors THELF. I feel angry toward this person, but I will not let this song go down on my rock. I will call and make peace. My pride is telling me to take this action. But I have the power to. Tell my pride shut off. Humility is the virtue of the spirit, and I will push pride aside. I'm not saying you will make mistake, but i am saying you will no longer be. A slave of your feelings. You have grown. See these are capticorizations of believers. Don't be moved by people speaking in tongues loud. Don't be moved by people proper science with charismas. Don't be moved by people preaching with another poet. Spot the character. You will know the man God can then trust great authority, unity of the faith, knowledge of the Son of God, perfect man, one who has authority over the flesh. And then number four. In that sense, scripture is said, you come into the fullness of the measure of the tacture of Christ. Are you imagine now? Again, this does not say you become like Jesus I rankly, because the criteriaty continues. But what is telling you here is that you come to a point where you. Live by the principles of Jesus. The principles you'll live by his principles, Love your enemies, pray for them. When you get there, you will know that it's not flesh it's not by flesh that you do that. If they slap your one cheek on the other, take your shirt, give your quote, if they take going mind, go it go a second. Massa a can you echo this again? What do you say? Here? Is it for us o angels? That's a man who has come to the full death of the measure of. This touch of Christ. And then number five is that hands fought. No more children talk to and fro. You see that this is the maturity, Johnny. No more children talk to and fro and carry it about by every window doctrine, by the slight of men, or the conic craftiness we are by the lying way to decease. So if telling you building this tentment through revelation of the world. So a man who is mature number five, he imnos the world and hens the spirit of the world. So that's not a man you can talk to and through. That's not a man you can't deceive. His dessment has been developed. You know, I told you when you start doing business with the world, you begin from the written word, the graffe. There you come to the Logos, which is the mind of God. There you come to the Ramma, which is the voice of the Spirit. You come to a point where you know the world that no matter how these guys certain comes if you cannot find it is reading a point where come when as you are moving you hear a voice behind you. This is not the way to go. These tannments have been activated. By the world because you have been schooled by the Logos, you have been schooled by the graffe, you have been schooled by the Ramma. So if you don't get it from the written word, you will get it from the mind of Christ, or you. Will get it from the voice of Christ. But you are not somebody. You know. Few years ago people fashion. Few years ago there was this raining trend called baggae jeans. So you see people wear trousers that three people can wear, and they have scriptures. To defend fashion. Then a few years later it became penfuls. They now don't they don't the scriptures they use, and the switch to pancil jeans and talk to and fro. You'll find one sister today she's tying her hair. Tomorrow she leaves the hair open. So if you go wear the hair fast, I tie your hair, she becomes the monk. If you go were they say, it doesn't matter. Hair goes on. She doesn't have an act. You read the Revelation of the world for herself. Do you find some sisters? Then we announce cat. Then they go to another job. They are wearing trouser. Are you all like what's going on? They what they have are chorty dogmas, not biblical dogs men. So anywhere they listening to a dogma they adopted, it defines too they are. But a point will come when you will go beyond. My pastor said. The Bible said, they Verrian Christians were more noble than those from Thessalonica, because at that Pole the great Apostle after Pole spoke, the Bible said, they went to such the scripture to see if it was sue. When I speak to you, receive it with respect. But whey with scripture, don't don't swallow what. I said hook line and sinker. Then the number six, which is like the zen, it is the state of love. This is what the Bible said. In Vesse fifteen. It's the speaking the truth in law. There are many people who said they know the truth, but they speak it by the spirit or wickedness. So you know that they may know something, but they are not mature. It's not enough you know the truth. How you communicate the truth is what shows the spirit power in you. Because when you speak the truth, I know that the truth can instruct I know that the truth can rebuilk. But no matter how the truth rebuilt and instrub it wilt break people, it will build them. I commend you to God and to the world of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance amongst them which are sanctified, and the truth that breaks people down and cast them out of the world of God. Except the Holy gost is speaking part time and bringing judgment. That thing, if it is somebody's way of life, No, there's something's wrong with his heart. Because there are people who vent their bitterness through the world. When they were growing up, they were molested, they were abused, they were accused, they were attacked, and then now that they have the opportunity of this throng God puppet, if you come under then they will thinking with the venom of his copyon. There are other people that suffer from insecurity because of the oppression they went through growing up. Now that they're here, everybody must be manipulated to become a puppet, otherwise they are not decided to. So you know that something is wrong. There are others that is bitterness. Everything they say it literally corpts the soul. So you listen to them. You don't know when you start back biting. You don't know when you start slandering. You don't know when you start keeping balleies, be checking your development in the spirits past, that I can give my body to be born. He said. If I don't have love, I wasted my time. I'm like a clanging symbol. So you must grow into love. And I'm not saying love accommodate this iniquity. I'm not saying love it's an endorsement for error. I'm saying love, speak the truth. But the truth is spoken in love, so that the one who receives it is both convicted, he repents, restore. And is beautiful. Blow it to God. Number seven. Paul now said, when you grow to this level, then you can become exactly like Jesus Christ. He said, speaking the truth in love that we may grow into Him in all things, that we may grow into Him in all things, which. Is the head Christ. So it is possible for being like Jesus in all things, all of us on this journey. It's God discipled believers. And then the top level is what we call commissioned believers. Commissioned as you grow from a self believer and you start growing as a discipled believer. At some point in your discipleship, Jesus commissions you to become a kingdom witness. That's what it did in Act Chapter one, verse eight. Not many days from now you shall receive the Holy goals and power, and you shall be witnesses onto me, but in Judea, in Samaria, in Jerusalem, and in the odd and most part of the earth. So you must come to a point where you are commissioned. And when I say commission, I'm not necessarily saying into the five four ministry. When I say commission, I mean God deploys you to a place where you can bring weakness to His kingdom. Your life begins to have kingdom consequences. You become a weakness of Jesus Christ. It is in the context of weakness. That we have weaknessing through suffering. It is in the context of weakness that we have serving Christ through suffering. Now, if a believer is not yet discipled, he can never be a witness. It takes a level of maturity to be a weakness of Christ. And so quickly I'm gonna show you the categories of witnesses or witnessing, because they are different ways we're witness for Christ. So you are not just a witness, but you have different layers of witness. You shall receive power after that. The Holygos has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses onto Me in Jerusalem, in mar in Judea, in Jerusalem, in all Judea, and in Samaria, and onto the all Tamils part of the earth. As you grow witness, the scale the scope begins to increase. But there are categories in witnessing now number one categories of witnessing. It's what we call witnessing by love demonstration. You'll see why you need to be discipled and growing to love to be a witness, because there is a kind of witness that only love can bring. See, there are people that no matter how eloquent you preach, if you like this the dead, they won't be taught. The only witness that can minister to them is when they see the love of God in you. This is why you must develop all categories of witnessing. Look at what the Bible says in John thirteen thirty five. This was Jesus speaking. Except by this shall all men know that you are My disciples. How exaid, if you love one another. There are many people who think so because they can't their hands on they see the secret cover. The award is so privileged that they are here the shake this war. They are found that because they give two three world of knowledge. In fact, when they are coming, they come like global prophets. You need to see the last they appost to. Have shown up. This ministry can humble somebody. Oh my god, see when you feel that you are the you are what the world is waiting for you. Now go out there, attack Telly is you look around you, even the street where you are situated. You have not been able to witness that you humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. One thing I learnt quick in life is that only God makes men. Only God the exports men the kingdom. Those of you who are gifted, be careful not are not pride entire your heart. Your way, life will humble you. You know, when you have not yet gone out, they're a thing. Ah, these people they are afraid of me. They're not. When you go out, you're run back. Every witness a qualities. One of these is love. You can't show love to your neighbor. You can't show love to your roommates. For you say we have the lights, this is what is waiting for that your light is darkness. By this shall all men know that you are my desciple. If you love one another, there isn't anybody who rise up in the any church and take over was because all of them were tot love. You go it at two forty four to forty six the Bibles that all things were shared in common. Instead there was none amongst them that lacked. So it was a charge, flow winded liquid love. So in that kind of charge, pick candy body at random. They can change the award because they were developed and trained to be witnesses. Goest that imprints it on the heart of men. The heart of men are caught when the holy goes at balloon, and what it checks is the motive, and the motive will always be wrong if there's no love. Number two category of witnessing is witnessing by. Power demonstration. This is the one you love, so let me talk about it before you think I'm killing your spirits. First Corinthians four, verse twenty. The Kingdom of God is not in words. Now see they say, another problem. Why you are talking to it like this? Some people are now looking at other people. Let him here, Let him You are the first corprit, you who is so se right shout that you think somebody has needs to hear. If you are not careful, you will hear your only hair. Let him here a possibly now you have. We have been praying for you to say this. Of these boys, we keep telling them you are the first person that you he. May God help you to hear it now so that you don't he hate her. They love your neighbors, yourself say love your enemies. By so doing you hit a coll of fire on them. It's a mystery. You witness through love, then you witness through power. The Kingdom of God is not in worlds first Corinthians for twenty is in the demonstration of power. See their place this you come to dig for they years. They are asking, like Pharaoh, who is your God? That we should serve him. They are those who don't care about the message. They want to see the proof of the message. And almost this came to Pharaoh from an encounter the God of the Hebrews. I can imagine the boys they came with the God of the Hebrews have sent me. Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness. Pharaoh torn, God of the hebrew who is your God? That as you worship him? Is it the only god? They do here? That we have several gods? There you come with one God. I have many? And most of this new this question the only interpreted on his power. He dropped this word. You want to say, my God, let me show you his finger, And he dropped this word. Ah. The wise man of Pharaoh said, we noticed one too. They dropped their own. It's not about whose sword can turn to sathing. When all of them becomes suffering, then stathing will define God to sathing. Not Christmas. All swallow, do not one all of their own. Pharaoh knew that who is talking is not a man. You know, A point came that those wise men that Charalam Moses, you know what they said, They got carol silence, say master, this matter happening here, this is the thing of God. Let him go. We have checked. This one didn't come from water. This one, it's not the deathert. He came from He came from the rem superior to every other realm. If you don't demonstract power, you are a talker. Not many days from now you start received the Holy ghost and power, and you shappy with that. This son for me in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria. So they are thermostat of the earth.
