About this sermon

Takeaways: The Bible assures believers that their faith is a powerful weapon against life's challenges, including temptation, sickness, and negative emotions. Kenneth Copeland emphasizes that faith is not just a tiny spark; every believer possesses world-overcoming faith that can conquer any obstacle. Listeners are encouraged to develop their faith by actively hearing and speaking the Word of God, which is crucial for a victorious life. Faith is described as a spiritual force, acting as the substance of our hopes, more real than what we can see or feel in the physical world. Understanding how to release faith through speaking and acting on God's Word is essential to living a life filled with love and hope. The podcast reminds everyone that walking in faith is a continuous effort, and even though challenges arise, maintaining a faith-filled confession is key to overcoming them.

Speaker A 00:00:17 But before we do, let's pray together. Speaker A 00:00:19 Father, in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:00:21 We pray over our study of your Word and we thank you for it. Speaker A 00:00:26 We give you the praise for it. Speaker A 00:00:28 The name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:00:30 Amen. Speaker A 00:00:32 First John, chapter five, verse one. Speaker A 00:00:36 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Speaker A 00:00:41 And everyone that loveth him, that begat, loveth him also that is begotten of Him. Speaker A 00:00:47 In other words, everybody that loves the Father loves his children. Speaker A 00:00:51 By this we know that we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments. Speaker A 00:00:57 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. Speaker A 00:01:01 And his commandments are not grievous. Speaker A 00:01:03 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. Speaker A 00:01:09 And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Speaker A 00:01:16 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is Son of God? Speaker A 00:01:23 Now we've looked at this over and over again and I want to remind you that our first discovery in our study of the subject of faith has been that the born again believer has faith. Speaker A 00:01:44 It's not that you have just this little ordinary faith. Speaker A 00:01:50 Have great big preacher faith. Speaker A 00:01:52 No, that's not it at all. Speaker A 00:01:55 Now, someone's faith may be developed more than yours, but it's the same faith. Speaker A 00:02:00 And you can develop your faith as highly as anybody else that's ever made Jesus Christ the Lord of their life. Speaker A 00:02:09 Now notice this. Speaker A 00:02:10 This faith is world overcoming faith. Speaker A 00:02:16 The faith that God has given you will overcome anything the world order has to throw at you. Speaker A 00:02:24 Now we have made this statement and we need to make it again and reorganize our thinking because we're going into some areas today that for most people are a little bit difficult. Speaker A 00:02:37 They're not difficult to learn, they're difficult to carry out. Speaker A 00:02:40 So pay very careful attention. Speaker A 00:02:42 Now, our first statement that we've come to out of the word of God is the answer to the question, who has faith? Speaker A 00:02:53 A born again believer has the faith of God imparted into his spirit when he makes Jesus Christ the Lord of your life. Speaker A 00:03:02 We found that out From Romans chapter 10, Romans chapter 12. Speaker A 00:03:07 This scripture in First John chapter 5, Ephesians 2, 8 says we're saved by grace through faith that not of yourselves. Speaker A 00:03:16 It is the gift of God. Speaker A 00:03:18 And then second Thessalonians 3:2 said, Wicked men do not have faith, or all men do not have faith. Speaker A 00:03:24 Deliver us from wicked men. Speaker A 00:03:26 So wicked men don't have it born again men do. Speaker A 00:03:31 In fact, when you made the decision to make Jesus Christ the the Lord of your life, then God imparted that faith there in order to get the job done. Speaker A 00:03:44 Well, he didn't take it right back away and said, well, now that's enough for you. Speaker A 00:03:48 No, no, he imparted it. Speaker A 00:03:50 And in fact, it's impossible to please him without it. Speaker A 00:03:53 So his being a just God could never have robbed you of your faith and then say, it's impossible to please him without it. Speaker A 00:04:03 Now then we ask then this question, who can use this kind of faith? Speaker A 00:04:09 Who has the right to use it? Speaker A 00:04:11 Well, whosoever is looking to Jesus has a right to use this kind of faith. Speaker A 00:04:18 Jesus said in Mark 11:23, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain. Speaker A 00:04:23 Now he said that after he had said, have the faith of God or use the faith of God, then he said, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed. Speaker A 00:04:39 So what literally he's saying from that is, whosoever will say it can have it. Speaker A 00:04:46 All right, Hebrews 4:2. Speaker A 00:04:49 We found out anyone that's preached to, anyone that hears the word of God, because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Speaker A 00:04:56 And then Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 23, we find out that the Bible says that God is as free with his faith as he is with his love. Speaker A 00:05:06 And then of course, the Bible says, take unto you the whole armor of God. Speaker A 00:05:11 You take unto you the whole armor of God, and part of that armor is above all, taking the shield faith. Speaker A 00:05:21 So in Hebrews then 116, it's impossible to please God without faith, which we mentioned a moment ago. Speaker A 00:05:30 Then the apostle Peter makes a statement in the third chapter of the book of Acts, the 12th through the 16th verses. Speaker A 00:05:37 And he says that why look you upon me as though by my holiness or special calling? Speaker A 00:05:48 In other words, this man, you see, was made strong. Speaker A 00:05:51 He said, no, it was faith in the name of Jesus that made this man strong. Speaker A 00:05:58 Then we find in first John, chapter three, that the Bible says we are commanded to believe on the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:06:08 And then of course, Peter said, in second Peter, the first chapter, he said that we, the everybody that he wrote that letter to, we have like precious faith with him. Speaker A 00:06:20 So your faith is just like the faith of Peter. Speaker A 00:06:23 Like I said earlier, you may not have developed yours to the place that the apostle Peter developed his. Speaker A 00:06:29 But you should be working on it. Speaker A 00:06:31 You should be developing it, and we're going to talk about that so that you will realize and understand what to do to develop your faith. Speaker A 00:06:38 Once we know where it comes from, then we know how it's received, we know how it's fed and how it is released, we know how it's developed, what we are to do, what our part to play is in it, then we've arrived at a place of success. Speaker A 00:06:55 And from that point, it's your responsibility to make the decision, to move, to do takes, to develop your faith and to please God. Speaker A 00:07:08 Amen. Speaker A 00:07:09 The next question that we've asked in this study is what is faith? Speaker A 00:07:14 Well, Hebrews 11, the first three verses says that faith is the substance of things hoped for. Speaker A 00:07:20 It is the evidence of things not seen or the evidence of things not yet revealed to the physical senses. Speaker A 00:07:27 It didn't say it was nothing. Speaker A 00:07:29 It didn't say it was a state of mind. Speaker A 00:07:32 It didn't say it was some form of psychological gymnastics of some kind. Speaker A 00:07:38 It is not a mental force. Speaker A 00:07:41 It is a spiritual force. Speaker A 00:07:44 Faith comes out of the human spirit. Speaker A 00:07:49 It comes out of the Holy Spirit into the human spirit. Speaker A 00:07:53 And then that caused your spirit to be reborn, recreated. Speaker A 00:07:59 And then when that happened, that faith being deposited in there, is available to you for development. Speaker A 00:08:08 It's available to you for use. Speaker A 00:08:11 It's available for you in prayer. Speaker A 00:08:13 It's available for you at all times in your life. Speaker A 00:08:18 Now, one of the ways that we know this, I've waited until this hour to read this scripture to you, but I want you to hear this right now. Speaker A 00:08:29 This is 14th chapter of Romans 23rd verse. Speaker A 00:08:33 He that doubteth is damned. Speaker A 00:08:34 It was talking about eating and so forth. Speaker A 00:08:38 I'm just eating food at the table, okay? Speaker A 00:08:41 Just a regular everyday practice. Speaker A 00:08:44 He that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Speaker A 00:08:55 Well, do you mean to tell me you can eat by faith? Speaker A 00:08:59 Well, it's quite obvious a lot of us have had difficulty eating by faith because it's obvious that particularly in this country, we have a lot of problem with our food here. Speaker A 00:09:11 And not that we don't have enough of it, it's that we have plenty of it and a lot of it is not worth eating. Speaker A 00:09:19 And there's lots of trouble over food and obesity and all that kind of thing. Speaker A 00:09:24 But the thing I wanted to point out to you is two things here. Speaker A 00:09:27 One, faith is available for our everyday practice. Speaker A 00:09:32 I mean, our everyday life. Speaker A 00:09:34 Just sitting down to eat at the table. Speaker A 00:09:36 Faith is available to you to eat by. Speaker A 00:09:39 Amen. Speaker A 00:09:40 The other thing is, for whatsoever is not of faith, sin. Speaker A 00:09:48 Now we're moving over into an area that's kind of touchy. Speaker A 00:09:52 Most people think, well, I can live by faith if I want to. Speaker A 00:09:56 I don't have to. Speaker A 00:09:57 You're too dogmatic about Fella. Speaker A 00:09:59 I didn't write that. Speaker A 00:10:01 I wish I had written the Book of Romans, but it doesn't have my name on it. Speaker A 00:10:06 The amplified translation sheds a little light on this. Speaker A 00:10:09 Whatever does not originate, proceed from faith is sin. Speaker A 00:10:17 If you're doing things, if you lay claim to the things of God, you lay claim to the lordship of Jesus. Speaker A 00:10:26 And God is your Father. Speaker A 00:10:29 And you're living for God, living for Christ Jesus. Speaker A 00:10:33 But there are things that you do that you don't bring God in on. Speaker A 00:10:39 There are things that you do that you don't counsel with God. Speaker A 00:10:42 You don't pray about it. Speaker A 00:10:43 You just get up and go your own way without giving God the first thought. Speaker A 00:10:47 Then that is an area of sin, because it's hypocritical. Speaker A 00:10:53 Now, there are other things to be said about that, but we're not far enough long in the study yet, so you just hold on to that. Speaker A 00:11:00 The reason I read that to you is because I want you to know it's available to you 24 hours a day. Speaker A 00:11:05 And everything you do originate and proceed from faith. Speaker A 00:11:11 And the other thing I wanted you to see how vitally important it is to your spiritual life to be aware of your faith all the time. Speaker A 00:11:19 To be aware of doing this by faith rather than doing it just in my own strength. Speaker A 00:11:24 You can't please God in your own strength. Speaker A 00:11:28 I'm going to do it. Speaker A 00:11:29 I've got to do this. Speaker A 00:11:31 No, no. Speaker A 00:11:32 We need to begin to relax and live and function by faith. Speaker A 00:11:38 All right? Speaker A 00:11:40 Now, what is faith? Speaker A 00:11:43 Faith is a spiritual force. Speaker A 00:11:46 It is the substance of things hoped for. Speaker A 00:11:49 So it is a substance. Speaker A 00:11:51 It is the confidence. Speaker A 00:11:53 It is the foundation of what we believe, powerful and more real than just what we can feel or what we can see. Speaker A 00:12:04 Our faith, our confidence. Speaker A 00:12:08 Friend, listen to me. Speaker A 00:12:10 Our faith and our belief in God is based on something a whole lot more reliable and a whole lot more solid than our feelings. Speaker A 00:12:20 Our faith is based on God's word, God's covenant, God's blood covenant that he has set between himself, the Lord Jesus. Speaker A 00:12:31 And since you made Jesus, Lord, it's between you and Jesus and the Father. Speaker A 00:12:37 There's blood between us. Speaker A 00:12:38 Praise God. Speaker A 00:12:39 And we live and walk by that our faith is substance, spiritual force of things hoped for. Speaker A 00:12:51 If you think about it like this, you'll never have any trouble understanding this particular aspect of faith. Speaker A 00:12:58 Say it and think about it like this. Speaker A 00:13:00 Faith is the substance of the blueprint that it's supposed to bring to pass. Speaker A 00:13:12 If I had substance, I could have all of this substance and still not have a Bible. Speaker A 00:13:18 I could have the paper, have the ink, have the leather and all of these things. Speaker A 00:13:23 I could have all of that substance and still not have the Bible. Speaker A 00:13:26 I need a picture of what it is to what it's to be. Speaker A 00:13:33 There's got to be a blueprint. Speaker A 00:13:34 If you're going to build something, you take the substance and match it to the picture and then you have what you desired or what you hoped for. Speaker A 00:13:45 Now, how is it released? Speaker A 00:13:48 Well, under our question of what is faith? Speaker A 00:13:52 We learn that faith operates as a law. Speaker A 00:13:55 The third chapter of Romans 27th verse said, by the law of faith. Speaker A 00:13:59 In other words, it works. Speaker A 00:14:01 There are certain elements of the law of faith that cause it to work. Speaker A 00:14:06 And those elements, two primary elements of faith. Speaker A 00:14:12 Part of it is concerned other than the word of God. Speaker A 00:14:15 Of course. Speaker A 00:14:15 The word of God is the primary element of it. Speaker A 00:14:19 Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Speaker A 00:14:23 So without the Word, you don't have any faith. Speaker A 00:14:26 But now, the other two elements on our end of the faith question is the words of our mouths and actions behind those words or action acting on what we believe. Speaker A 00:14:50 Faith filled words release the power of faith. Speaker A 00:14:56 Faith filled words dominate the laws of sin and death. Speaker A 00:15:05 Faith filled words. Speaker A 00:15:08 Listen to me now. Speaker A 00:15:10 Faith filled words. Speaker A 00:15:15 I want you to get that. Speaker A 00:15:16 I'm not going to get off of it until you get it. Speaker A 00:15:18 Faith filled words dominate the laws of sin and death. Speaker A 00:15:28 Faith filled words release the power of faith. Speaker A 00:15:34 Words are spiritual containers. Speaker A 00:15:38 Words that are filled with fear, release fear. Speaker A 00:15:41 Words that are filled with hate, release hate. Speaker A 00:15:44 They're carriers of hate. Speaker A 00:15:46 Words that are filled with love, release love. Speaker A 00:15:49 And words that are filled with faith, Praise God. Speaker A 00:15:53 Release faith. Speaker A 00:15:55 Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Speaker A 00:16:00 God released faith in His Word. Speaker A 00:16:04 We go to His Word and we fill our spirit beings with the Word of God. Speaker A 00:16:12 And the faith of God that's in His Word is really literally spilled over in our spirit. Speaker A 00:16:19 And our spirit literally digests the word of God. Speaker A 00:16:25 And as it comes up and out your mouth, it's still the word of God. Speaker A 00:16:31 Even though it's coming out of your heart, out of your mouth, it is still the word of God. Speaker A 00:16:37 Amen. Speaker A 00:16:38 It's filled with his faith. Speaker A 00:16:40 All right, we studied this now, and I really think we need to go back over these scriptures again. Speaker A 00:16:48 We found out in 2nd Corinthians, chapter 4, 13th and 14th verse, that the spirit of the whole thing is, I have believed, therefore have I spoken. Speaker A 00:17:02 I mean, it said, having the same spirit of faith, I have believed, therefore have I spoken. Speaker A 00:17:09 I mean, that's the spirit of the whole thing. Speaker A 00:17:12 Jesus said in the 11th chapter of Mark after he spoke to a fig tree. Speaker A 00:17:18 And 24 hours later, they came back by there, and Peter said, look at that tree. Speaker A 00:17:24 It's dead. Speaker A 00:17:25 It's withered up at the roots. Speaker A 00:17:27 And Jesus said, now have the faith of God. Speaker A 00:17:30 Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea. Speaker A 00:17:36 So he said, and not doubt in his heart, but believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass. Speaker A 00:17:44 Believe those things which you say comes to pass. Speaker A 00:17:48 You shall have whatsoever you say. Speaker A 00:17:52 The saying is part of the law of faith. Speaker A 00:17:58 I well, let's go over the fourth chapter of Proverbs. Speaker A 00:18:04 There's something here. Speaker A 00:18:06 This is. Speaker A 00:18:07 I said earlier that there was. Speaker A 00:18:08 We were going to talk about something that's the hardest to carry out, and this is it. Speaker A 00:18:13 This is the hardest part. Speaker A 00:18:15 For men and women here on this earth that know God and walk with God, this is the hardest part is speaking by faith. Speaker A 00:18:29 There's this. Speaker A 00:18:32 There's this fine line that's drawn between speaking by faith and speaking by feelings. Speaker A 00:18:43 Speaking by faith, calling things that be not as though they were and speaking by feeling, calling things that are because they are. Speaker A 00:18:54 And people have a hard time with this. Speaker A 00:18:57 I know I Man, I've been doing this and studying this and aware of it every day of my life for 20 and a half years. Speaker A 00:19:08 I mean, I'm talking about every day, every day of my Life for almost 21 years now. Speaker A 00:19:16 I have been studying, aware of, thinking about my faith in God. Speaker A 00:19:22 This has been a quest for me for over 20 years. Speaker A 00:19:25 I've studied the subject of faith. Speaker A 00:19:27 Not one day has gone by, not one moment. Speaker A 00:19:32 Well, maybe a moment, but not one day has gone by where I don't think about faith. Speaker A 00:19:38 I'm aware of it all the time. Speaker A 00:19:40 I study it. Speaker A 00:19:40 I think about it all the time. Speaker A 00:19:44 God instructed me, ordered me, commissioned me to study the subject of faith back there over 20 years ago, and I'm still doing it. Speaker A 00:19:54 And all of this time, after all of this development, after watching over the words of my mouth, after, after, like David said, put a watch over the. Speaker A 00:20:05 Over the door of my lips. Speaker A 00:20:08 It's still something you have to stay right on top of all the time. Speaker A 00:20:18 You just can't take a vacation from this. Speaker A 00:20:21 It just. Speaker A 00:20:23 You're doing a spiritual thing in this natural physical world. Speaker A 00:20:30 And it is a constant, constant uphill pull. Speaker A 00:20:35 When you're living, talking, acting by faith, it's not going to get easy. Speaker A 00:20:42 Now you can get better accomplished at it, yes, but it'll always be an uphill climb because the world and the whole system of the thing is running in the negative vein. Speaker A 00:21:00 It's running in a negative flow. Speaker A 00:21:04 And if you get in there and flow with it, that's what's going to happen to you. Speaker A 00:21:07 But when you begin to walk by faith, you begin to speak positively instead of negatively. Speaker A 00:21:13 You begin to speak for instead of against. Speaker A 00:21:17 You begin to live and walk this way. Speaker A 00:21:20 You're climbing against stream of the world system all the time. Speaker A 00:21:26 So it really is a pull and a climbing. Speaker A 00:21:30 You just relax a little bit and I'll tell you what, you'll just flow right back downstream. Speaker A 00:21:37 I don't care how long you've been going upstream and how good you are at rowing your boat, if you relax, you'll go back downstream. Speaker A 00:21:46 And it's that way with faith. Speaker A 00:21:48 The fourth chapter of the Book of Proverbs. Speaker A 00:21:50 Keep your heart, protect your spirit, in other words, with all diligence. Speaker A 00:21:56 For out of it are the forces of life. Speaker A 00:21:59 The forces of life are in your spirit, and faith is one of them. Speaker A 00:22:04 Put away from thee a disobedient mouth and perverse lips put far from thee. Speaker A 00:22:11 Then in the 12th chapter of the book of Proverbs, the 18th verse, there is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword. Speaker A 00:22:29 But the tongue of the wise is health. Speaker A 00:22:39 Now let me tell you what I get from that. Speaker A 00:22:45 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword. Speaker A 00:22:50 But the tongue of the wise is health. Speaker A 00:22:55 The lip of truth shall be established forever. Speaker A 00:22:59 But a lying tongue is but for a moment. Speaker A 00:23:01 So there's life and death. Speaker A 00:23:03 The Bible says in the authority, in the power of the tongue there is that pierceth like a sword. Speaker A 00:23:09 The tongue of the wise is health. Speaker A 00:23:11 If you draw from that opposites which I do, I see that in that that there is that speaketh like piercings of a sword. Speaker A 00:23:23 The tongue of wise is health. Speaker A 00:23:24 Then that piercing like sword is an element of sickness and disease. Speaker A 00:23:29 I'm telling you, you can talk yourself sick, you can speak yourself. Speaker A 00:23:33 You can keep yourself in such bondage by the words of your mouth, you can't stay well and you can't stay healed. Speaker A 00:23:42 And we need to know that we need. Speaker A 00:23:45 Whoa. Speaker A 00:23:45 We need. Speaker A 00:23:46 Like David again, we need to put a watch over our lips, the door of our lips. Speaker A 00:23:51 Praise God. Speaker A 00:23:52 Jesus said, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. Speaker A 00:23:59 So out of the good treasure of a good man's heart, good things come to pass. Speaker A 00:24:04 He's obviously saying things that have not come to pass yet. Speaker A 00:24:09 Out of the evil treasure of an evil man's heart, evil things come to pass. Speaker A 00:24:14 For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. Speaker A 00:24:18 Now, he's brought up something there concerning this abundance of the heart. Speaker A 00:24:24 What's in your heart in abundance? Speaker A 00:24:27 If you continually speak all the time, doubt, unbelief, fear, sin, death, damnation of one kind or another, you continually say those things all the time. Speaker A 00:24:50 And then you turn around for a moment and say, I'm going to say a healing word. Speaker A 00:24:56 I really have great amount of doubt that that's coming out of the abundance of your heart. Speaker A 00:25:03 Now, I didn't say not say it. Speaker A 00:25:06 I just rather doubt whether it's going to bring much results the first time you say it because it's coming out of your mental faculties. Speaker A 00:25:23 You made the decision to say that came out of your mind. Speaker A 00:25:28 I used to wonder. Speaker A 00:25:28 I said, lord, I go along here and I speak faith and I say words of faith and I do this and I do that and I act on my faith. Speaker A 00:25:36 And boy, it's just an uphill pull and just seems like nothing comes to pass. Speaker A 00:25:41 And maybe a little bit here and a little bit there and I get mad and say one negative word and wham, it just comes to pass right then. Speaker A 00:25:50 Said, why is that? Speaker A 00:25:51 And the Lord said, well, that's. Speaker A 00:25:52 You're still speaking out of the abundance of your heart over in that area. Speaker A 00:25:56 And that's coming to pass because you're so highly developed. Speaker A 00:25:58 And he said, you just keep doing that. Speaker A 00:26:01 Now the word says a man. Speaker A 00:26:03 That's not. Speaker A 00:26:04 Let's go over to the book of James. Speaker A 00:26:05 I want to show you some things from this. Speaker A 00:26:08 You have to remember James was raised in the same household with Jesus. Speaker A 00:26:13 And he. Speaker A 00:26:15 He thought Jesus was crazy while he was on the earth. Speaker A 00:26:18 But then he came around and realized after Jesus was raised from the dead that Jesus is Lord and he made him Lord. Speaker A 00:26:26 And then he's obvious that he applied things that he learned watching Jesus as a young boy. Speaker A 00:26:34 He says here that if a man offend not in word, the same as a perfect man, able also to bridle whole body, able to bridle the whole body. Speaker A 00:26:52 By bridling his tongue, he can bridle his whole body. Speaker A 00:26:57 Now he says, if you don't bridle your tongue, you'll deceive your own heart. Speaker A 00:27:04 That's boy. Speaker A 00:27:05 I mean, that's an important statement. Speaker A 00:27:07 The deception in your spirit comes from your mouth, bridling your tongue, speaking the word of God, acting the word of God, thinking the word of God gets you in line, spirit, soul and body. Speaker A 00:27:24 And if you'll keep speaking the word, thinking the word, acting on the word, then it will get into your spirit in abundance. Speaker A 00:27:31 And it'll come to the place where when you say it with your mouth, you believe you receive it. Speaker A 00:27:35 You have what you say. Speaker A 00:27:37 Now, a lot of people say, well, you know, I said that a number of times, Brother Copeland, I call things that be not as though they were. Speaker A 00:27:47 And it didn't work for me. Speaker A 00:27:50 No, you want me to tell you what you were doing? Speaker A 00:27:53 You're calling things that be not the way you wish they were. Speaker A 00:27:58 Now listen to me. Speaker A 00:28:00 Calling things that be not the way you wish they were and calling things that be not as though they were two different things. Speaker A 00:28:08 The words will be the same. Speaker A 00:28:13 But as long as there's this wishing, hoping, without the substance of faith, then you're going to have to keep on meditating in the Word. Speaker A 00:28:29 You're going to have to keep on speaking the word, keep calling those things that be not as though they were. Speaker A 00:28:34 Every time you do it, it gets more down in your heart. Speaker A 00:28:37 Gets more down in your heart, gets more down in your heart. Speaker A 00:28:40 There is a place of crossover. Speaker A 00:28:43 Words are almost not adequate for me to explain this. Speaker A 00:28:47 There is a place of crossover. Speaker A 00:28:50 There's a place where you continue to meditate the word, act on the word, say the word with your mouth. Speaker A 00:28:57 There's a place that happens, a thing that happens inside your spirit. Speaker A 00:29:02 I cannot put it into words, but it does happen. Speaker A 00:29:05 I've experienced it. Speaker A 00:29:06 Other people have experienced it. Speaker A 00:29:08 Where crosses over. Speaker A 00:29:13 It crosses over from hoped faith. Speaker A 00:29:15 And I'll tell you when that happens. Speaker A 00:29:18 They could set bombs off under you and they couldn't change you. Speaker A 00:29:23 Because you know what you know that you know that you know that you know what you know that you know you know what you know. Speaker A 00:29:30 It just happens. Speaker A 00:29:32 Now, you're probably that way over the new birth. Speaker A 00:29:35 Couldn't anybody drive out of you the fact that you're born again? Speaker A 00:29:40 Couldn't anybody drive out of you that Jesus is Lord? Speaker A 00:29:43 But then somebody comes along and says, are you healed? Speaker A 00:29:45 No. Speaker A 00:29:46 Well, the same Bible that says you're Born Again says, you're healed, but you need to meditate in it. Speaker A 00:29:52 And say it and say it and say it and say it and say it. Speaker A 00:29:57 If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is in vain. Speaker A 00:30:09 How do you bridle your tongue? Speaker A 00:30:11 You bridle it with the word of God. Speaker A 00:30:13 This is the bit that you put in your mouth. Speaker A 00:30:17 So God has a reign on your life and you can. Speaker A 00:30:21 He can control your body, he can control your mind, he can control, control everything around you. Speaker A 00:30:26 If you'll put this bit in your mouth. Speaker A 00:30:29 Now the word says, don't be like a mule and have to have a bit put in your mouth. Speaker A 00:30:34 Don't be like that. Speaker A 00:30:36 Put the thing in your mouth yourself. Speaker A 00:30:38 Put the word of God in your mouth and hand the reins to God and say, I say your word. Speaker A 00:30:44 I do your word. Speaker A 00:30:45 I think your thoughts. Speaker A 00:30:46 Praise God. Speaker A 00:30:48 Amen. Speaker A 00:30:49 Now I want to look at that third chapter of James from the second through the 17th verses. Speaker A 00:30:55 I read the second verse there to you a while ago. Speaker A 00:30:57 The same is able to bridle the whole body. Speaker A 00:31:00 Behold, we put bits in the horses mouths that they may obey us. Speaker A 00:31:04 We turn about their whole body. Speaker A 00:31:06 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great and are driven of fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm rudder whithersoever the governor listeth. Speaker A 00:31:22 You have the right and the power in the spirit of God to command your tongue. Speaker A 00:31:34 Now this is very, very important. Speaker A 00:31:37 I mean, like I used to say to my kids when they were little, I'm about to say something. Speaker A 00:31:41 Get your catchers out where you don't miss it. Speaker A 00:31:44 Don't half listen to this. Speaker A 00:31:46 Hear what the word of God is saying to you. Speaker A 00:31:53 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasteth great things. Speaker A 00:31:58 Behold how great a matter a little fire kindleth. Speaker A 00:32:04 So the tongue is kindling to the fire. Speaker A 00:32:08 You don't strike a match and try to set fire to a log this big. Speaker A 00:32:14 You need some little kindling. Speaker A 00:32:16 And as the little kindling burns, it burns a little bigger. Speaker A 00:32:18 And it gets something a little larger. Speaker A 00:32:20 And it gets something a little larger. Speaker A 00:32:21 And eventually that whole log and the whole fire is burning. Speaker A 00:32:25 And the Bible says the tongue is the kindling. Speaker A 00:32:28 Now listen to this. Speaker A 00:32:30 The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. Speaker A 00:32:36 So is the tongue among our members, defiles the whole body. Speaker A 00:32:43 Now get this. Speaker A 00:32:44 And sets on fire the course of nature. Speaker A 00:32:50 And it is set on Fire of hell. Speaker A 00:32:57 He says if you're able to bridle your tongue, you can bridle your body. Speaker A 00:33:02 He says that words coming out of our mouths set in motion the course. Speaker A 00:33:10 One translation says, the wheel of nature. Speaker A 00:33:13 Your tongue is what started the ball rolling. Speaker A 00:33:18 Oh, I don't know what my tongue had to do with all this around me. Speaker A 00:33:22 Well, it started back there so far ago that it was little kindling. Speaker A 00:33:26 And let me tell you what you do. Speaker A 00:33:27 You go over to your fireplace and start digging around after the fire has burned all day and half of the night. Speaker A 00:33:37 Go over there and dig around and see if you can find the match you started it with. Speaker A 00:33:42 Go over there and dig around and see if you can find the piece of paper that you started that fire with. Speaker A 00:33:47 Go see if you can find that little piece of kindling that you had in there. Speaker A 00:33:51 Well, you say what? Speaker A 00:33:52 Brother Copeland, I can't go find that. Speaker A 00:33:54 It's burned up. Speaker A 00:33:55 That's what I'm trying to get you to see. Speaker A 00:33:59 Your mouth started all this mess around you so long ago, you don't even remember when you said it. Speaker A 00:34:06 That's the way the devil wanted it to work. Speaker A 00:34:08 Now it says that it set on fire of hell. Speaker A 00:34:13 Now, what can you do about that? Speaker A 00:34:16 Think with me here a minute. Speaker A 00:34:17 Now, you're a student of the Bible here. Speaker A 00:34:20 You've been studying the word of God for a while. Speaker A 00:34:22 What can you think about that? Speaker A 00:34:24 It's set on fire of hell, huh? Speaker A 00:34:28 What? Speaker A 00:34:30 Sure. Speaker A 00:34:32 Above all. Speaker A 00:34:33 Ephesians 6. Speaker A 00:34:34 Take unto you the whole armor of God. Speaker A 00:34:36 Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith you may quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Speaker A 00:34:51 The fiery darts of hell, the fiery darts of the devil. Speaker A 00:34:55 The city set on fire. Speaker A 00:34:57 Your faith can become a shield as you speak God's words, as you speak his words. Speaker A 00:35:06 As you operate in faith in Jesus, the apostle of our words, they have sent one to establish the words of our confession. Speaker A 00:35:15 The high priest watching over our word as we speak his word. Speaker A 00:35:20 Because it said he watches over His Word to perform it. Speaker A 00:35:25 So when we're speaking his word, we just continue to speak it. Speaker A 00:35:28 Day and night we speak his word. Speaker A 00:35:30 Somebody said, how do you feel? Speaker A 00:35:32 Just tell them, no matter how I feel, what matters is how I am. Speaker A 00:35:38 And I am saved. Speaker A 00:35:39 I am Holy Ghost filled. Speaker A 00:35:42 Glory to God. Speaker A 00:35:43 I am healed. Speaker A 00:35:44 Well, you don't look healed. Speaker A 00:35:45 I didn't say I looked healed. Speaker A 00:35:46 I said I am healed. Speaker A 00:35:48 I'm not speaking to you about from the foundation of my feelings. Speaker A 00:35:51 I speaking to you from the foundation of what you can see I'm speaking to you from the foundation of the word of the living God. Speaker A 00:36:00 He says I'm healed. Speaker A 00:36:01 Jesus bought and paid for it. Speaker A 00:36:03 I say I'm healed, thank God. Speaker A 00:36:05 And I expect my body to change. Speaker A 00:36:07 I expect whatever it takes to change. Speaker A 00:36:09 What am I doing? Speaker A 00:36:10 I've got my shield of faith up. Speaker A 00:36:13 Okay. Speaker A 00:36:13 I'm stopping all the fiery darts that Satan's firing at my tongue. Speaker A 00:36:19 He tries to make you think he's firing at your body. Speaker A 00:36:23 He's trying to make you think he's shooting arthritis at your joints. Speaker A 00:36:27 That's not what he's doing. Speaker A 00:36:29 He's firing at your tongue. Speaker A 00:36:32 He's a deceiver. Speaker A 00:36:34 He wants to get you looking at this over here while he stabs you in the back over here. Speaker A 00:36:39 So be aware of what he's doing and listen to what he says. Speaker A 00:36:45 Tongue defiles the whole body, sets on fire the course or the wheel of nature, and it is set on fire of hell. Speaker A 00:36:52 Now listen to this seventh verse. Speaker A 00:36:54 Every kind of beasts and birds, serpents, things in the sea is tamed and hath been tamed of mankind. Speaker A 00:37:04 Or as the cross reference says, by natural man. Speaker A 00:37:10 But. Speaker A 00:37:10 But the tongue can no man. Speaker A 00:37:13 Or now let's grammatically relate that. Speaker A 00:37:17 But the tongue can no natural man tame. Speaker A 00:37:23 It cannot be tamed just cause you want to. Speaker A 00:37:27 It cannot be tamed with natural forces. Speaker A 00:37:32 It is an unruly evil full of deadly poison. Speaker A 00:37:36 Well, how are you going to tame it? Speaker A 00:37:38 Well, if you study this on down here, it says in the 16th verse, for where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work but the wisdom from above. Speaker A 00:37:50 Now Jesus called the word of God the wisdom of God. Speaker A 00:37:54 The wisdom or the word that is from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated. Speaker A 00:38:05 The word's easy to be entreated. Speaker A 00:38:08 It's full of mercy, good fruit. Speaker A 00:38:11 It's without partiality. Speaker A 00:38:13 In other words, God is no respecter of persons and without hypocrisy. Speaker A 00:38:23 In other words, I am not a hypocrite for saying I'm healed when there is physical evidence that I'm sick when I say it, because the word of God says it. Speaker A 00:38:36 Now that little verse put in there with all its teaching on the tongue, that is exactly what he's talking about. Speaker A 00:38:43 I am not a hypocrite for saying that I have it. Speaker A 00:38:48 I believe I receive it in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:38:51 Hallelujah. Speaker A 00:38:52 That I'm not moved. Speaker A 00:38:54 See, I'm moved only by what I believe. Speaker A 00:38:58 This first chapter of the 22nd verse then tells us that action releases faith. Speaker A 00:39:04 Be doers of the Word and not hearers only be doers of the Word. Speaker A 00:39:10 Be an actor of the Word. Speaker A 00:39:12 He said faith by itself is dead. Speaker A 00:39:15 Faith without action that corresponds to what you said is dead. Speaker A 00:39:21 You leave it hanging there with no place to go. Speaker A 00:39:25 Alright, I'm going to put you in the hot seat again today. Speaker A 00:39:28 Let's just. Speaker A 00:39:29 Let's just believe that you're sitting here and I'm laying my hands on you. Speaker A 00:39:35 There's no time. Speaker A 00:39:37 Neither is there any distance in the realm of the spirit. Speaker A 00:39:40 If you were here, then I could lay my hands on you and we would believe. Speaker A 00:39:46 Deliverance and recovery has just begun. Speaker A 00:39:50 Jesus said, the believer shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recovery. Speaker A 00:39:56 The healing process. Speaker A 00:39:57 The recovery process begins now as you and I release our faith. Speaker A 00:40:03 You've been learning about faith. Speaker A 00:40:04 I want you to do what you've learned on the broadcast. Speaker A 00:40:08 Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for my partner. Speaker A 00:40:13 I intercede for the people right now as they release their faith. Speaker A 00:40:19 In the name of Jesus, Father, as I would be laying my hands on them, I ask you to honor it by faith. Speaker A 00:40:29 In the name of Jesus, receive your healing, receive your deliverance, Receive your family restored. Speaker A 00:40:39 Receive your marriage restored. Speaker A 00:40:42 Receive your financial problems done away with. Speaker A 00:40:46 In the name of Jesus, Be made whole. Speaker A 00:40:53 Now rise in his name. Speaker A 00:40:57 Speak faith in his name. Speaker A 00:41:00 Act in his name. Speaker A 00:41:03 I've seen people, literally, I have seen people that could not move anything but just a little finger paralyzed. Speaker A 00:41:11 I saw one girl one time, couldn't move anything but her eyeballs. Speaker A 00:41:14 She was paralyzed from head to foot. Speaker A 00:41:17 Hands were laid on her and she had been instructed to act her faith. Speaker A 00:41:23 And she just started rolling her eyes around like that. Speaker A 00:41:26 And I'm telling you, the power of God shot all over that girl. Speaker A 00:41:29 She jumped up and ran around the building shouting, I'm healed, I'm healed, I'm healed. Speaker A 00:41:34 Process has begun. Speaker A 00:41:36 It might not work in 30 seconds, but it's working. Speaker A 00:41:38 It's working, it's doing its job. Speaker A 00:41:41 So I want you, in the name of Jesus, to act on the word of God. Speaker A 00:41:47 I'm reminding you again and again and again that God loves you, we love you and Jesus is Lord.
