Speaker A 00:00:01 If you have your Bibles there with you today, let's open them once again to First John, chapter five. Speaker A 00:00:07 Last week's broadcast, we began a study in the subject of faith and really the beginning of our study together on how to walk by faith and live by faith victoriously, day by day by day, seven days a week. Speaker A 00:00:35 I'm impressed here to say something to you that I want you to. Speaker A 00:00:38 I want you to listen carefully to what I'm saying. Speaker A 00:00:40 I don't want you to misunderstand me. Speaker A 00:00:44 A person can have a religion and have that religion affect their lives, but never really have that religion. Speaker A 00:00:57 Change their lives, change the way you live, change the quality of your life. Speaker A 00:01:04 Actually, Christianity is not a religion. Speaker A 00:01:08 Christianity is a reality. Speaker A 00:01:10 It is God and His family becoming one. Speaker A 00:01:14 So let's read once again from First John, chapter five as we study this. Speaker A 00:01:19 Because I want you to know how to live in victory. Speaker A 00:01:21 I want you to know how to. Speaker A 00:01:22 How to use your faith. Speaker A 00:01:24 I want you to be able to use your faith the way a mechanic uses a tool to change or fix something. Speaker A 00:01:31 Where you can walk by faith on a daily basis and use it in every area of your life. Speaker A 00:01:39 Amen. Speaker A 00:01:40 Father, help us today we pray for it in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:01:44 Amen. Speaker A 00:01:46 First John, chapter five, verse one. Speaker A 00:01:49 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone that loveth him, that begat, loveth him also that's begotten of him. Speaker A 00:01:58 By this we know that we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments. Speaker A 00:02:06 For this is the love of God, or this is loving God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous. Speaker A 00:02:15 Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Speaker A 00:02:24 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? Speaker A 00:02:30 Now, in last week's study, we learned that if you've made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, then you're born of God. Speaker A 00:02:39 If you're born of God, have faith. Speaker A 00:02:42 And your faith is the victory that overcometh the world. Speaker A 00:02:47 This scripture says that who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth in Jesus is the Son of God. Speaker A 00:02:55 Well, you can be an overcomer and not be overcoming. Speaker A 00:03:01 You understand what I mean by that? Speaker A 00:03:03 You can be an overcomer, but you're not exercising what it takes to overcome and be just as defeated as anybody, all the rest of the world. Speaker A 00:03:15 And that's not the way God plans for you to live because he says here that faith is the victory that overcometh the world. Speaker A 00:03:22 So we're going to study this faith, find out where it comes from, find out how it's received, find out how it's fed or developed, and find out how it's released. Speaker A 00:03:37 Now, when you find out those things, take the responsibility to receive it, feed it, release it, then you've arrived at a place of success. Speaker A 00:03:48 Praise God. Speaker A 00:03:49 Now, we studied from the Word last week's broadcast on who has faith. Speaker A 00:03:56 And we established from Romans 10 from the Scripture that we just read from First John 5, we established from Ephesians 2 that says it is the gift of God. Speaker A 00:04:07 From Second Thessalonians 3:2, we established that who has faith, the born again believer, the one that believes that Jesus is the Christ, has the faith of God, was invested in you at the time you were born again, at the time you were converted. Speaker A 00:04:28 Then we began to talk about right at the close of last week's broadcast, who can use it. Speaker A 00:04:34 Who has the right, who has the privilege to use this kind of faith. Speaker A 00:04:41 There are those that think God has set aside certain very special Christians, very special people, and only those very special people have the right to use this very special faith. Speaker A 00:04:55 Well, that's not true. Speaker A 00:04:58 Bible teaches us from the 11th chapter of Mark. Speaker A 00:05:03 Let's turn over there again. Speaker A 00:05:04 I want to read that scripture. Speaker A 00:05:06 That's Jesus classic teaching on the faith of God. Speaker A 00:05:11 And if Jesus said it's true, then it must be true. Speaker A 00:05:14 Right? Speaker A 00:05:14 Right. Speaker A 00:05:15 Amen. Speaker A 00:05:16 All right. Speaker A 00:05:17 Mark, chapter 11, verse 22. Speaker A 00:05:20 Jesus said, have faith in God. Speaker A 00:05:24 Cross reference says, have the faith of God. Speaker A 00:05:29 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Speaker A 00:05:46 Who shall have whatsoever he saith, who? Speaker A 00:05:49 Whosoever. Speaker A 00:05:52 I got ahold of that. Speaker A 00:05:53 You're the whosoever that we saw in the Bible in First John. Speaker A 00:05:59 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the son of God is an overcomer. Speaker A 00:06:05 And we find here that whosoever in the very mouth of Jesus, whosoever shall say whosoever has the right to do it, and whosoever will say and believe in his heart can use the very faith of God. Speaker A 00:06:28 Then we found from Hebrews chapter four, if you'd like to turn back over there with me, I want to show you something that follows right along in that same line. Speaker A 00:06:44 For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them. Speaker A 00:06:49 But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Speaker A 00:06:59 Well, we Learned from Romans 10:17 last week. Speaker A 00:07:07 Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Speaker A 00:07:09 That's the way you got saved was hearing the word of God. Speaker A 00:07:13 And the faith that was invested in you when you were born again is still there. Speaker A 00:07:19 Jesus came in when you invited him in, and he brought his faith with him. Speaker A 00:07:25 Praise the Lord. Speaker A 00:07:26 Now, faith, remember, the question we're asking now is who has the right to use this kind of faith? Speaker A 00:07:35 Faith is available to anyone who will hear the word. Speaker A 00:07:45 Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Speaker A 00:07:48 Unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them. Speaker A 00:07:52 But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Speaker A 00:07:59 So anybody that hears the gospel preached, anybody that will hear the word right to use faith. Speaker A 00:08:08 Amen. Speaker A 00:08:08 All right, let's go to Ephesians, chapter six. Speaker A 00:08:14 I do hope you have your Bible there. Speaker A 00:08:16 If you're not, you should be making taking these references down where you can look them up later. Speaker A 00:08:24 Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 16. Speaker A 00:08:31 Above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Speaker A 00:08:41 Above all, taking the shield of faith. Speaker A 00:08:45 So the shield of faith is for every believer. Speaker A 00:08:48 Well, if you have a right to take it, surely you have a right to use it. Speaker A 00:08:53 It's not set aside just for preachers. Speaker A 00:08:57 It's not set aside just for some special believer or some special kind of manifestation of God. Speaker A 00:09:06 There are manifestations of special faith. Speaker A 00:09:10 That's not what we're talking about here. Speaker A 00:09:12 That special faith is listed in First Corinthians, chapter 12. Speaker A 00:09:16 Now, that is a different thing altogether, and we eventually will come to that, and we'll study that. Speaker A 00:09:22 But we're talking about the faith that you got born again with. Speaker A 00:09:25 Talking about the faith that God expects to you, expects you to overcome the storms of life and the things that the world has to throw at you to destroy you. Speaker A 00:09:37 World overcoming faith that you were born again with. Speaker A 00:09:41 Praise God. Speaker A 00:09:42 Now, look at the 23rd verse next to the last verse in the book of Ephesians. Speaker A 00:09:48 Peace be to the brethren. Speaker A 00:09:52 Love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Speaker A 00:09:59 I mean, that excites me. Speaker A 00:10:01 We know that God is love. Speaker A 00:10:03 We know that God freely loves God, so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son. Speaker A 00:10:13 Well, did you notice here that he's just as free with his Faith as he is with his love. Speaker A 00:10:18 Praise God. Speaker A 00:10:20 Peace be to the brethren and love with faith. Speaker A 00:10:24 Do you know the Bible says in the book of Galatians that faith worketh by love. Speaker A 00:10:32 Amen. Speaker A 00:10:33 They run together. Speaker A 00:10:34 Faith and love run together. Speaker A 00:10:36 Alright, let's look at the third chapter of the book of Acts. Speaker A 00:10:41 Now we're really going to start getting into some things here about the use of this kind of faith. Speaker A 00:10:48 Go. Speaker A 00:10:48 So pay really careful attention to the Scriptures now that we read Acts 3:12. Speaker A 00:11:01 When Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, you men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Speaker A 00:11:05 Or why look ye so earnestly on us? Speaker A 00:11:08 As though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk. Speaker A 00:11:14 Now the apostle Peter and John were just walking through the beautiful gate. Speaker A 00:11:19 You remember the story. Speaker A 00:11:20 And there was a beggar out there. Speaker A 00:11:21 And Peter said, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. Speaker A 00:11:27 And the man was made whole. Speaker A 00:11:29 And he. Speaker A 00:11:29 And he, when he did rise up, he leaped and he shouted and he praised God and he ran through the temple. Speaker A 00:11:35 Well, they were all standing there marveling and filled with wonder they saw this man run through the temple. Speaker A 00:11:42 And Peter said, what are you looking at us for? Speaker A 00:11:46 As though by our holiness. Speaker A 00:11:49 How would we say that today? Speaker A 00:11:53 We would say. Speaker A 00:11:54 He would say to us today, what are you looking at me for? Speaker A 00:11:58 As though by reason of the fact that I'm apostle, that this man was made to be strong. Speaker A 00:12:04 Or by the fact that I, Jesus personally made this man to be strong. Speaker A 00:12:10 Now listen to what he said. Speaker A 00:12:13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers has glorified his son Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied him in the presence of Pilate. Speaker A 00:12:23 Now look at the 16th verse. Speaker A 00:12:26 And his name, through faith in his name, made this man strong. Speaker A 00:12:36 Now what did he say? Speaker A 00:12:37 Did it? Speaker A 00:12:38 Faith in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:12:41 Now hang on to that. Speaker A 00:12:44 Hath made this man strong. Speaker A 00:12:45 Whom you see and know, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Speaker A 00:12:58 Now I think it's very, very interesting when you turn over to the letters that Peter wrote and you find out that he says almost the same thing again as he said, you know, when he said, as though by our holiness, or in other words, by my special calling, or by my. Speaker A 00:13:23 By the fact that I was a personal friend of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the fact that I'm on television or whatever. Speaker A 00:13:32 All of these excuses for having faith. Speaker A 00:13:35 No, when you turn, you know he said, it's not by that. Speaker A 00:13:39 It's faith in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:13:42 Well, then you read that Peter said in Second Peter, chapter one, Simon Peter as servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ to them. Speaker A 00:13:55 He's writing the letter here to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Speaker A 00:14:07 Now, another way he could have said it that I'm writing this letter to all of you have the same kind of faith that I do, who got it when they got saved and were given the righteousness of God through our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Speaker A 00:14:22 Amen. Speaker A 00:14:22 You have the same kind of faith that Peter had. Speaker A 00:14:26 Oh, brother Copeland, I don't know whether I've got that kind of faith. Speaker A 00:14:30 Quit arguing with the Bible and get rid of all that religious tradition and junk that causes you to elevate men and say, well, I could never do what they do. Speaker A 00:14:46 You have the same Jesus, you have the same faith. Speaker A 00:14:49 And I'll tell you something else. Speaker A 00:14:51 You've got the same terrible problems that everybody else has. Speaker A 00:14:55 And everybody else got the same problems you have. Speaker A 00:14:58 And Peter himself said, jesus is no respecter of persons. Speaker A 00:15:02 Now you have world overcoming faith. Speaker A 00:15:05 And whatever the problems are that the world has dished out to you, you have the faith to overcome them. Speaker A 00:15:11 Glory be to God. Speaker A 00:15:12 Amen. Speaker A 00:15:13 Now, just in case that that wasn't enough, the Bible tells us in First John, chapter 3, verse 23, this is his commandment that we should believe on the name of his son, Jesus Christ. Speaker A 00:15:37 Now I want to tell you something. Speaker A 00:15:40 If God has given us a commandment to believe on the name of Jesus, then the faith goes with the command. Speaker A 00:15:51 Did you get that? Speaker A 00:15:53 The faith goes with the command. Speaker A 00:16:00 The grace of God does not leave you without faith. Speaker A 00:16:04 You have the grace to do what? Speaker A 00:16:07 Whatever God has told us to do. Speaker A 00:16:11 So who can use it? Speaker A 00:16:15 Any born again believer, anyone who has any desire to please the heavenly Father, can use faith now or has the right to use it, should use it. Speaker A 00:16:31 Chapter 11 of the Book of Hebrews, verse 6. Speaker A 00:16:34 Very familiar verse. Speaker A 00:16:35 But I want you to. Speaker A 00:16:36 I want you to look at it. Speaker A 00:16:40 I want you to look at it today like you've never really looked at it before. Speaker A 00:16:46 But without faith, it is impossible to please him. Speaker A 00:16:49 For he that cometh to God. Speaker A 00:16:52 Now how else could you say he that cometh to God? Speaker A 00:16:55 He that's born again, he that's made Jesus Christ the Lord of his life. Speaker A 00:16:59 He that has invited Jesus into his heart, he has. Speaker A 00:17:02 He that believes that God has raised him from the dead. Speaker A 00:17:05 Thou shalt be saved. Speaker A 00:17:06 He that is born again. Speaker A 00:17:08 Okay. Speaker A 00:17:09 He that cometh to God must believe that he is. Speaker A 00:17:13 Do you believe God is? Speaker A 00:17:14 Yes. Speaker A 00:17:15 Amen. Speaker A 00:17:15 You do if you're born again, don't you? Speaker A 00:17:17 Yes. Speaker A 00:17:19 And thank God for this. Speaker A 00:17:23 And I love it. Speaker A 00:17:25 And that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Speaker A 00:17:32 Now, he tells us right there how to please God. Speaker A 00:17:38 Well, Brother Copeland, I've been born again. Speaker A 00:17:40 Yes. Speaker A 00:17:41 And God has called me to the ministry. Speaker A 00:17:42 Yes. Speaker A 00:17:42 And I've got to build this ministry. Speaker A 00:17:45 How am I going to build this ministry? Speaker A 00:17:46 Oh, how am I going to get the money? Speaker A 00:17:48 How are we going to do this? Speaker A 00:17:49 How are we going to pay off this? Speaker A 00:17:51 How are we going to do that? Speaker A 00:17:52 Oh. Speaker A 00:17:53 Oh, dear God. Speaker A 00:17:54 I've got to work hard at this. Speaker A 00:17:55 I got. Speaker A 00:17:56 Oh, I want to please God. Speaker A 00:17:57 I want to please God. Speaker A 00:17:59 Oh, I have to do this. Speaker A 00:18:00 Oh, I have to do that. Speaker A 00:18:02 Shut up. Speaker A 00:18:03 Okay. Speaker A 00:18:08 That's not how you please God. Speaker A 00:18:11 All of that. Speaker A 00:18:12 And you should work. Speaker A 00:18:15 You should do your best. Speaker A 00:18:16 You should study to show yourself. Speaker A 00:18:18 Approved. Speaker A 00:18:20 But you please God with faith. Speaker A 00:18:23 And it tells you right here the kind of faith that pleases him. Speaker A 00:18:29 Believe that he is. Speaker A 00:18:31 Well, that's certainly not hard to do. Speaker A 00:18:34 And that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Speaker A 00:18:40 Every time you believe that he is. Speaker A 00:18:43 But I don't know. Speaker A 00:18:45 You know, it might not be his will to heal me. Speaker A 00:18:48 It might not be his will that my ministry be worth anything. Speaker A 00:18:54 Oh, no. Speaker A 00:18:55 Oh, no. Speaker A 00:18:56 You notice what I'm doing? Speaker A 00:18:57 I'm backing up. Speaker A 00:19:01 Come to God, it says. Speaker A 00:19:03 Come to God and believe that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Speaker A 00:19:09 How do you seek Him? Speaker A 00:19:10 In the Word. Speaker A 00:19:11 Not in feelings. Speaker A 00:19:12 Not in hear or taste or smell or feel or any of the senses. Speaker A 00:19:19 That's in the natural carnal flesh realm. Speaker A 00:19:21 No, you seek God in His Word, to know God in His Word by His Spirit. Speaker A 00:19:26 His Spirit is the author of this book. Speaker A 00:19:29 And that's the way that you know God now. Speaker A 00:19:32 That's the way you act by faith. Speaker A 00:19:34 You find where it's promised, and you stand on it. Speaker A 00:19:38 The moment you stand on it, you've come to God. Speaker A 00:19:40 You've come to His Word. Speaker A 00:19:42 You've come to God. Speaker A 00:19:43 John said in his gospel that in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Speaker A 00:19:51 God. Speaker A 00:19:51 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among men. Speaker A 00:19:54 So when you come to the Word, you're coming to God. Speaker A 00:19:59 You come to God and believe. Speaker A 00:20:03 You come to God and believe that he is. Speaker A 00:20:07 You come to God and believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently come to him in his word or diligently seek him. Speaker A 00:20:18 Amen. Speaker A 00:20:19 So you find the promises of God. Speaker A 00:20:22 You act on that promise as quickly as you would the word of a lawyer or a doctor or a highly trusted friend. Speaker A 00:20:31 You act on the word of God as God personally has written this book, this letter to you. Speaker A 00:20:39 That promise is yours. Speaker A 00:20:41 You mix faith with it. Speaker A 00:20:42 Now, how do you mix faith with it? Speaker A 00:20:44 I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself here. Speaker A 00:20:46 But I want you. Speaker A 00:20:48 I want you to know this. Speaker A 00:20:49 It's really very simple. Speaker A 00:20:51 How do you mix faith with the word of God? Speaker A 00:20:54 Well, you allow that word to convert you. Speaker A 00:20:58 Well, say I'm converted. Speaker A 00:20:59 Well, now, wait a minute. Speaker A 00:21:00 Let's see if you are. Speaker A 00:21:01 I know you're born again, but have you converted your thinking from the way you used to think to the way the Word thinks? Speaker A 00:21:11 Well, I don't know, brother. Speaker A 00:21:13 You know, I don't do this and I don't do that, and I don't do this and I don't do that. Speaker A 00:21:17 Well, that's all well and good. Speaker A 00:21:19 You probably shouldn't be doing those things. Speaker A 00:21:22 But that's not what I'm talking about. Speaker A 00:21:24 When the word of God said, by his stripes, ye were healed, have you accepted that as the answer? Speaker A 00:21:31 Now, as you accept that as the answer and believe it, and believe as you. Speaker A 00:21:37 As you walk on that and look at that and believe that that is your healing, to be converted is. Speaker A 00:21:50 Well, I see that I'm healed, so now I must act. Speaker A 00:21:54 Healed. Speaker A 00:21:55 Now I must talk. Speaker A 00:21:56 Healed. Speaker A 00:21:57 That's faith, see? Speaker A 00:21:59 Well, I don't feel healed. Speaker A 00:22:00 That's not faith. Speaker A 00:22:02 You don't believe it. Speaker A 00:22:03 Oh, yeah, I believe the Bible says that. Speaker A 00:22:06 Well, I mean, you can believe the Bible says that and not believe it, know it says it. Speaker A 00:22:11 But do you believe you receive it? Speaker A 00:22:14 I'd sure believe it if I could see it. Speaker A 00:22:16 That's not faith. Speaker A 00:22:18 That's natural, human, ordinary faith. Speaker A 00:22:21 I'm talking about the faith of God. Speaker A 00:22:22 Jesus said, have the faith of God and believe what you say comes to pass. Speaker A 00:22:27 Allow this word to convert you. Speaker A 00:22:30 How? Speaker A 00:22:31 By believing he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Speaker A 00:22:35 Go towards him instead of away from him. Speaker A 00:22:40 All right, let's talk for a moment. Speaker A 00:22:43 We're right here in the 11th chapter of the Book of Hebrews. Speaker A 00:22:47 Let's talk here for a moment about what faith is. Speaker A 00:22:51 What is it? Speaker A 00:22:53 And I'm not talking about particularly how to use it or what to do with It. Speaker A 00:23:01 Talking about what it is. Speaker A 00:23:04 This is a podium or a bookstand or an elbow rest or whatever you want to call this thing standing here in front of me. Speaker A 00:23:18 But what is it? Speaker A 00:23:21 Well, it's a podium. Speaker A 00:23:23 I know that, but what is it? Speaker A 00:23:25 Well, it's acrylic. Speaker A 00:23:27 Now, we could keep. Speaker A 00:23:28 We could keep saying, what is it? Speaker A 00:23:31 We could break it down from what its use is to the chemical that it's made from, and you could just keep going down and down. Speaker A 00:23:43 I suppose you break it down just in all different chemical categories, which I don't understand all that. Speaker A 00:23:51 But the more you break it down, the more you would know about podium. Speaker A 00:23:57 You would know more about the material. Speaker A 00:23:59 You'd understand more about it. Speaker A 00:24:01 You'd know how hard you could hit it and how hard you couldn't hit it and all that kind of thing. Speaker A 00:24:05 You would know how much weight it will hold. Speaker A 00:24:08 You just simply understand and know more about the thing if you knew what it is. Speaker A 00:24:15 So what is faith? Speaker A 00:24:16 Well, let's dig around in it here a little bit. Speaker A 00:24:18 Look what the 11th chapter of the Book of Hebrews says about it. Speaker A 00:24:23 Now, faith is the substance. Speaker A 00:24:29 It is the substance that is really something that can be said two or three different ways. Speaker A 00:24:38 Now, you know, we said, well, this is made out of this. Speaker A 00:24:42 Made out of acrylic. Speaker A 00:24:43 Well, what's acrylic made out of? Speaker A 00:24:45 See, you could. Speaker A 00:24:45 You could go into more. Speaker A 00:24:49 More detail in what it is. Speaker A 00:24:52 So this. Speaker A 00:24:52 This word right there also means ground or confidence. Speaker A 00:25:00 Faith is the ground. Speaker A 00:25:02 That's true. Speaker A 00:25:04 Faith is substance. Speaker A 00:25:08 I like the word substance there because, say, you know, this has substance to it. Speaker A 00:25:21 It's tangible. Speaker A 00:25:22 It has substance. Speaker A 00:25:25 This has substance. Speaker A 00:25:28 But sometime or other, this thing here was a thought, a picture in someone's mind. Speaker A 00:25:40 I pictured this one day. Speaker A 00:25:44 I thought, you know, I would love to have a podium that I could use that was clear. Speaker A 00:25:55 It just dawned on me that I would like to have that. Speaker A 00:25:59 And I pictured it in my mind and I told somebody about it, and they put it down and they drew it out on paper and. Speaker A 00:26:07 And we had the thing made, and we made several of them before we really got them like we want them. Speaker A 00:26:15 And first ones we had made were a little too thin and they'd break easily. Speaker A 00:26:21 And they're better looking now than they were back there a number of years ago when we first made them. Speaker A 00:26:26 Well, there was substance put to that picture that was in my mind. Speaker A 00:26:32 I had a picture. Speaker A 00:26:34 You can equate that to the hope. Speaker A 00:26:36 Now, notice faith is the substance of things. Speaker A 00:26:40 Hoped for it's not a substance that you can see. Speaker A 00:26:47 However, it is tangible. Speaker A 00:26:51 It produces tangible things in fact. Speaker A 00:26:58 Well, now there's an outstanding description. Speaker A 00:27:01 Let's let the word speak for itself. Speaker A 00:27:03 Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for. Speaker A 00:27:07 The evidence or the grounds or confidence of things not seen. Speaker A 00:27:18 I believe it's the amplified translation that says things not yet revealed to the physical senses. Speaker A 00:27:27 Faith is real, but you can't see it yet. Speaker A 00:27:30 But if you'll use it, it is the substance of those things pictured or those things hoped for, those things planned. Speaker A 00:27:39 And it will bring into the seeing feeling realm those things not yet revealed by the physical senses. Speaker A 00:27:50 And that faith, even though you can't see it, is the substance of that. Speaker A 00:27:56 Now we're answering the question here of what faith is. Speaker A 00:28:00 What is it? Speaker A 00:28:03 Faith then is substance, but not it's substance in its raw state that cannot be seen with the eye. Speaker A 00:28:15 Now, notice this. Speaker A 00:28:16 By it, the elders obtained a good report. Speaker A 00:28:19 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. Speaker A 00:28:25 Things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Speaker A 00:28:30 What's he saying here? Speaker A 00:28:31 Well, I've heard people say, you know, God made the world out of nothing. Speaker A 00:28:34 Well, that's true, considering that there was no world to start with. Speaker A 00:28:42 And then he took that world and made another world. Speaker A 00:28:47 No, the parent force was not nothing. Speaker A 00:28:53 It was faith. Speaker A 00:28:54 It didn't say it was nothing. Speaker A 00:28:55 It said you couldn't see. Speaker A 00:28:56 It was made out of something you can't see. Speaker A 00:29:00 Something that does not appear, something that is not apparent. Speaker A 00:29:05 Okay. Speaker A 00:29:06 It was substance because it was released. Speaker A 00:29:12 It was powerful and brought something you can see. Speaker A 00:29:19 It brought the planet, it brought the trees, it brought the world and the earth rather that we live on the planet. Speaker A 00:29:28 And the universe and the heavens and so forth were in the heart of God. Speaker A 00:29:34 The thing which he hoped for or he pictured or he blueprinted within himself. Speaker A 00:29:40 He released in faith. Speaker A 00:29:42 So faith is substance. Speaker A 00:29:45 Now, what else is faith? Speaker A 00:29:49 Faith is a spiritual force. Speaker A 00:29:54 We could talk about and we'll talk about the force of faith. Speaker A 00:30:00 If I had a, you know, I could be holding a stick of dynamite here in my hand and I could say, this is dynamite. Speaker A 00:30:10 And somebody that had no idea what dynamite is never heard of dynamite. Speaker A 00:30:14 Never. Speaker A 00:30:15 Well, they say, well, what's dynamite? Speaker A 00:30:17 Well, that's dynamite. Speaker A 00:30:21 Well, so that's dynamite. Speaker A 00:30:24 What's dynamite? Speaker A 00:30:25 Okay, immediately I could tell you see that dynamite is. Speaker A 00:30:31 And I could go through the chemical substances that make it up. Speaker A 00:30:35 Still, you would know then what dynamite is. Speaker A 00:30:39 But what's dynamite? Speaker A 00:30:41 Now we need to Talk about the force of the dynamite. Speaker A 00:30:44 The force that's released when the combustion occurs in this chemical substance is ferocious. Speaker A 00:30:55 I mean, a little dab will do you. Speaker A 00:30:57 Amen. Speaker A 00:30:57 This thing is powerful. Speaker A 00:30:59 Well, now, we're not actually talking about the dynamite itself. Speaker A 00:31:03 We're talking. Speaker A 00:31:04 Talking about the force that is released with a chemical action and reaction that occurs in this thing called dynamite. Speaker A 00:31:15 Okay? Speaker A 00:31:17 When that thing explodes, there's no dynamite left. Speaker A 00:31:22 Now, what we're talking about is the force that came from it. Speaker A 00:31:28 What will it do? Speaker A 00:31:29 Well, you know, it. Speaker A 00:31:32 Somebody said, who blew that tree out of the ground? Speaker A 00:31:36 Well, that fellow over there. Speaker A 00:31:38 That fellow over there really didn't. Speaker A 00:31:40 It was the force of the dynamite that blew that tree out of the ground. Speaker A 00:31:46 The force came from the dynamite. Speaker A 00:31:53 The dynamite obeyed the man. Speaker A 00:31:57 So someone said the man did it because the man was responsible. Speaker A 00:32:03 Now, that's very important for you to understand that, because later on we're going to see Jesus use that and speak that way. Speaker A 00:32:10 He said it should obey you. Speaker A 00:32:11 Well, he was talking about faith. Speaker A 00:32:13 The faith should obey you. Speaker A 00:32:15 Yes, but the faith is released. Speaker A 00:32:19 Then the force of faith released from the faith, the force of it moves against the mountain. Speaker A 00:32:29 You remember there Jesus said, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea. Speaker A 00:32:37 All right, he was talking about a sycamine tree later. Speaker A 00:32:40 And he said, say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up and cast in the sea, and it should obey you. Speaker A 00:32:47 So that tree is obeying the force against it, but the faith is obeying the person that released it. Speaker A 00:33:01 And he was talking about faith being a servant and that. Speaker A 00:33:04 Like I said, we're a little ahead of ourselves there. Speaker A 00:33:06 We will get into that, and we're going to study that in much detail. Speaker A 00:33:11 And you don't want to miss it, because once you see it, you can do it. Speaker A 00:33:16 And it's something very important. Speaker A 00:33:19 The devil will run from it. Speaker A 00:33:20 The Bible said, resist the devil and he'll flee from you. Speaker A 00:33:23 Praise God forevermore. Speaker A 00:33:25 Now, Romans 3:27. Speaker A 00:33:29 Let's turn over there and look at this, because this gives us another aspect of this. Speaker A 00:33:36 I heard brother Kenneth Hagin say, you know, you can climb this side of the mountain, and it's one mountain. Speaker A 00:33:44 You climb this side of the mountain, it's another mountain, but it's all the same mountain. Speaker A 00:33:48 You're just climbing it on different sides. Speaker A 00:33:49 Now, this is a little different side of the question. Speaker A 00:33:52 What is faith? Speaker A 00:33:53 Faith is substance. Speaker A 00:33:55 Faith is a spiritual force. Speaker A 00:33:57 But in the third chapter of the book of Romans 27th verse says it's a law. Speaker A 00:34:02 Where is boasting? Speaker A 00:34:03 Then? Speaker A 00:34:04 It is excluded. Speaker A 00:34:05 By what? Speaker A 00:34:05 Law of works? Speaker A 00:34:07 No, but by the law of faith. Speaker A 00:34:12 Law of faith. Speaker A 00:34:14 Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Speaker A 00:34:21 Every time a person releases faith, it's a law. Speaker A 00:34:30 It works. Speaker A 00:34:34 When you put the elements of faith into operation, they work. Speaker A 00:34:41 Well, it might not work next time. Speaker A 00:34:43 That's like saying, well, you know, I want to be terribly careful in the morning when I get up because gravity might not work and I might. Speaker A 00:34:52 I might fall and hit the ceiling. Speaker A 00:34:55 No, you know better than that. Speaker A 00:34:58 You have to receive from the word of God that faith operates according to a spirit, spiritual law. Speaker A 00:35:07 It's governed by law the way electricity is governed by law. Speaker A 00:35:12 The way, like we're talking about gravity is a law. Speaker A 00:35:16 Consequently, the laws that deal with gravity, the laws that we put into motion to cause an airplane to fly, you cannot disobey those laws. Speaker A 00:35:28 Well, I don't believe that an airplane ought to have wings. Speaker A 00:35:32 I think it ought to have bowling balls hanging out beside it. Speaker A 00:35:36 Well, you can believe that if you want to, stupid. Speaker A 00:35:38 But it won't fly. Speaker A 00:35:41 It won't happen. Speaker A 00:35:42 Why, you're violating the law of lift, which is relative to the law of gravity. Speaker A 00:35:47 And the law of gravity is a constant law. Speaker A 00:35:50 You cannot argue with it, you can't negotiate with it. Speaker A 00:35:54 All you can do is prove it. Speaker A 00:35:56 So you have to deal with it that way. Speaker A 00:35:59 Faith is a law. Speaker A 00:36:01 Cannot argue with it, you cannot negotiate with it. Speaker A 00:36:04 All you can do is prove it. Speaker A 00:36:06 So what we do is go to the word of God in order to prove out, since this is the faith book written by the author of our faith. Speaker A 00:36:14 Hebrews 12 said, Jesus is the author and the developer or finisher of our faith. Speaker A 00:36:21 This is his book, written by his spirit to teach us faith. Speaker A 00:36:26 So we go to it and prove it. Speaker A 00:36:28 We go to the word of God, we study it, we develop it, we, we act on it. Speaker A 00:36:33 Now, if it doesn't develop out the way we read, we don't try to change the book. Speaker A 00:36:38 We don't try to change the faith, we try to change us. Speaker A 00:36:41 We don't try to change electricity, it won't change. Speaker A 00:36:45 It's the same way. Speaker A 00:36:47 The only thing you can do with it is prove it, manipulate it, use it, develop, learn about it. Speaker A 00:36:54 The more you learn about it, the more it'll do for you. Speaker A 00:36:57 But I'll tell you what, the same electricity that cooks your toast in the morning will kill you deader than a hammer if you don't use it the right way. Speaker A 00:37:05 Amen. Speaker A 00:37:06 Well, in the spiritual realm, faith is a law. Speaker A 00:37:12 There is no. Speaker A 00:37:15 There is no such thing as any person on earth since the resurrection of Jesus that has ever done what the word said do and released their faith and they didn't get born again. Speaker A 00:37:36 But brother, I know old lady so and so and old man so and so, and young this and that. Speaker A 00:37:42 I know those people over there. Speaker A 00:37:44 And they believed all that stuff you believed, and then, and then they died young and then they did this and they had this and that. Speaker A 00:37:51 I don't care if they did. Speaker A 00:37:52 That doesn't change faith. Speaker A 00:37:54 Faith is a law. Speaker A 00:37:58 And I got to tell you, not many people know much about it. Speaker A 00:38:02 We are, you know, really, we're where faith is concerned. Speaker A 00:38:06 The body of Christ is nowhere near a spiritual space program. Speaker A 00:38:12 We're more like where Thomas Edison was playing around trying to figure out what makes a light bulb work. Speaker A 00:38:18 That's more where we are on the law of faith right now than we are about to launch out into the heavens in a space program. Speaker A 00:38:27 We need really to spend more time studying what the word says about faith instead of what we think about it or what so and so said about it. Speaker A 00:38:37 You know, I'm even as no older than I am. Speaker A 00:38:41 I remember when I was a kid, people talking about, you know, that if man, if God had wanted man to have light bulbs, he'd have made them for him. Speaker A 00:38:50 And that kind of stupid thing why God didn't mean for man to fly. Speaker A 00:38:53 If he had, he'd have given him him wings. Speaker A 00:38:55 Well, that's, that's stupid thinking. Speaker A 00:39:00 God gave man the ability to research and study and believe it, act on it and develop it. Speaker A 00:39:08 And he's given us the Word. Speaker A 00:39:10 He's given us the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:39:13 He's given us the. Speaker A 00:39:14 The spirit of the living God in which to do our research and in which to do our acting. Speaker A 00:39:21 And he's been sent as our teacher into all truth. Speaker A 00:39:26 And faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Speaker A 00:39:30 We read that already in Romans 10:17. Speaker A 00:39:33 Now we've got just time enough on today's broadcast to begin to talk about how faith is released. Speaker A 00:39:43 We found out who has it. Speaker A 00:39:45 We found out who can use it. Speaker A 00:39:47 We found out something about what it is. Speaker A 00:39:50 We'll learn more about what it is and understanding what it is as we learn how it's released. Speaker A 00:40:00 I believe that the. Speaker A 00:40:02 From. Speaker A 00:40:02 From my study of the Word of God and from my study under. Speaker A 00:40:06 Under men and women of faith over the last almost 21 years now. Speaker A 00:40:14 That the most common way, the most outstanding way of releasing faith that the Bible talks about is by words of the mouth. Speaker A 00:40:29 That's the first thing the Bible records about the releasing of faith. Speaker A 00:40:35 We found out already. Speaker A 00:40:36 We're reading there in the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews, God created the world by faith. Speaker A 00:40:41 And God said, let me read this first three verses here. Speaker A 00:40:48 You got to see this. Speaker A 00:40:51 In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. Speaker A 00:40:55 We know from Hebrews 11. Speaker A 00:40:56 He did it with faith. Speaker A 00:40:59 And the earth was without form and void, darkness upon the face of the deep. Speaker A 00:41:04 And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Speaker A 00:41:10 Said, now that's. Speaker A 00:41:13 I kind of like asking, well, did the spirit of God move on the face of the waters before he said it or when he said it or after he said it? Speaker A 00:41:22 The only way you can tell that is by studying the rest of the Bible or as brother Paul Harvey says, get the rest of the story. Speaker A 00:41:32 Amen. Speaker A 00:41:33 As you do that, you begin to realize, and I believe this with all my heart, that spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. Speaker A 00:41:41 And God said, you could say God said, and the spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. Speaker A 00:41:46 It was a simultaneous thing. Speaker A 00:41:49 One of the reasons you know that is because God is now. Speaker A 00:41:54 God's always in the now. Speaker A 00:41:57 And as he said, the Spirit moved. Speaker A 00:42:00 As the spirit moved on, what he said, he slung this universe into existence. Speaker A 00:42:06 Praise God. Speaker A 00:42:07 Now, Second Corinthians, chapter four. Speaker A 00:42:12 I want us to read that and see what we can gather from this. Speaker A 00:42:18 We've got just time enough to do this. Speaker A 00:42:20 Second Corinthians 4, verse 13. Speaker A 00:42:26 We having the same spirit of faith. Speaker A 00:42:30 Faith. Speaker A 00:42:30 Now, this is the spirit of the thing. Speaker A 00:42:32 This is what it's all about. Speaker A 00:42:34 He's talking about. Speaker A 00:42:35 This is not talking about, particularly about the Holy Ghost. Speaker A 00:42:37 This is talking about the Spirit of it. Speaker A 00:42:39 This is the like. Speaker A 00:42:40 The spirit of the team and the spirit of the work. Speaker A 00:42:44 The spirit of this whole thing. Speaker A 00:42:45 We having the same spirit of faith. Speaker A 00:42:48 According as it is written. Speaker A 00:42:50 I believed and therefore have I spoken. Speaker A 00:42:54 We also have believe, and therefore do we speak. Speaker A 00:43:00 Praise God. Speaker A 00:43:01 Father, I pray with my brother and my sister, my partners, in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:43:08 We receive together your healing power. Speaker A 00:43:11 We receive together deliverance from every bondage of Satan, every habit that needs broken, every home that needs to be mended, every marriage that needs to be put back together together, every child that needs to be healed, and every child that needs to be swept into the kingdom of God. Speaker A 00:43:31 We receive it today. Speaker A 00:43:33 Father, it's promised to us. Speaker A 00:43:36 We receive it in the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:43:41 Amen. Speaker A 00:43:42 Satan, take your hand off of God's people right now. Speaker A 00:43:47 In the name of Jesus. Speaker A 00:43:48 Praise the Lord.
