S1E1. Integrity of God’s Word - 1
Kenneth CopelandAbout this sermon
The Information Age is flooded with words from newspapers and networks to infomercials and the Internet. But where in that flood of information can you find the words to build a settled and successful life in a turbulent world? What word can you turn to if your child gets violently ill, rumors of layoffs start flying or the terrors of the world’s darkness threaten your neighborhood? In the Integrity of God’s Word, Kenneth Copeland shows you how to build an unshakeable life on the Word that is not only always accurate, timely and pertinent, but which is also filled with power to change your world. This timely six message series will establish you in the Bible realities that God’s Word: Has an integrity that is beyond reproach; Like the nature of God-does not change; Is God’s bond and He will not break it; Is the substance God used to create what is seen; Is the incorruptible seed from which you were born again; Will produce for you just as it did when God first spoke it. The time to act on the Word is not after sickness, poverty or disaster strikes. It’s now. Use the principles in Integrity of God’s Word to make your life disease proof, lack proof and disaster proof. When you make the quality decision to stand on God’s Word, you build a house no flood or storm of life can destroy. Message 1 Takeaways: The integrity of God's Word is unassailable, providing a foundation for a resilient life. God's Word is not only permanent but also powerful, capable of transforming circumstances. Faith is the fundamental force through which God created everything visible and tangible. To build a life immune to adversity, one must act upon the promises of God's Word.

Speaker A 00:00:00 I want you to open your Bibles with me today to the very first book in the Bible, the book of Genesis. I want you to read with me from verse 1, chapter 1 in the book of Genesis. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light. And there was light. The Hebrew text in this place literally says, God said light be and light was. God saw the light, that it was good. And God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. The evening and the morning were the first day. Now, I'm going to be speaking to you this afternoon on the integrity of God's Word. And I want to share some things with you that if you'll listen to me, it could very well be the most important thing you ever heard in your life. Because God and His Word are one. You cannot separate God and His Word. You cannot separate you and your Word. If your Word is no good, you're no good. Men judge you by your Word. You cannot be separated from your Word. God's Word is real, it is powerful, and it has an integrity that is beyond reproach. Thank God the Bible said, in him there is no variable, as he does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Consequently, his nature doesn't change, his name doesn't change, and. And thank God, neither does His Word. His Word is his bond. Men didn't invent the integrity of word. God invented the integrity of word. God is the instigator of integrity in a man's Word. And God's Word is his bond. Notice in the ninth verse and God said, let the waters unto heaven be gathered together. In the 11th verse and God said, let the earth bring forth grass. The 14th verse, and God said, let there be lights in the firmament. The 20th verse, and God said. Over 2000 times in the Bible we read these words, thus saith the Lord. God, in dealing with his man, introduced the earth. He introduced the man to the earth. Earth. He introduced the earth and the firmament and everything around it by the words of his mouth. He married spiritual world to the physical world when he created the physical world with words. God's almighty Word. His Word is power. His Word is alive. Now I want to get to the living part of His Word in a few moments. What I want you to see out of what we read in the book of Genesis is God releases his faith with his words. The Bible says in the 11th chapter of Hebrews that the worlds were framed or they were placed in position by faith. The parent, spiritual substance of everything you can see, touch, taste or smell, everything that surrounds you. The parent substance to that was the faith of God. This piece of wood was originally the faith of God. Don't you see that. That the faith of God was the seed that bore all of this? Everything in this earth, everything that's physical, came into existence by the faith of God. And the Bible says that he did it through his wisdom and his understanding. He knew how to manipulate spiritual law and the spiritual force of faith. Faith to bring into existence every single thing that you and I now see. For the parent to all of this was the force that resided inside the being of Almighty God. Now, since when did the material become more real than the Creator? It is not so. God is a spirit. Those that worship him worship him. How? In spirit and in truth. In the Word. In His Word, Jesus said, your word is truth talking to God. All right, now follow me carefully. This faith that is the parent force of even your very existence was released when God spoke. He said it. Not only did he say it, he said it first. He said it was. And Satan came along, said it wasn't. Satan didn't come along and say it wasn't. And then God said it was. Satan's never been first at anything. God created him. Faith is his parent also. Now you stuff that in your pocket and hold it and carry it around with you for a few days. It'll mean something to you when he comes around to you telling you it won't work. You just remember that the force that he's trying to put down was the very force that caused him to come into being. He's not the father, thank God. He's the stepchild of the spirit world. The Bible says God created him perfect. And then iniquity was later found in him. But faith created him. The faith of God. The force that resides on the inside of God. Now, is it foolish for us to believe and to operate and stand on the. On the. On the foundation of the fact that if all of this was in the beginning created by the faith of God, if that spiritual force is the parent force to all of this, then why in the world shouldn't we believe that it will still respond to the same force? It will respond to the same parent force that put it into motion in the. In the start beginning. Why shouldn't it? Well, now I told you to hang on to What I said about Satan, I want you to know he'll respond to that force whether he likes it or whether he doesn't. The Bible said, you know, that just the faith, small as a grain of mustard seed, will knock a mountain into the ocean. And I'll tell you, you can knock Satan plum out into the deep too with it because he'll respond to it just the same as the mountain does. The mountain has no choice and neither does the devil. Now he thinks he does. He's stupid enough to think that. But see, he's not very smart. I didn't say he was dumb. I said he was stupid. Anybody thinks they can overcome God's got it got to be off and to start with, you know, and he's telling you how intelligent he is. But you'll find out that he will respond to that same force called the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Praise God. You follow me now. All right. God releases his faith in his words. Now then His Word is forever. Now, the very seed that I want to plant in your consciousness right now, I want to put this seed in there and. And I want you to use it all during these two weeks of meetings. I don't ever want you to forget it. I want you to think about it every day. His Word is forever. His Word was released with his mouth. The Bible says in psalms, what? The 119th chapter, the 89th verse. His word is settled forever in heaven. Do you remember what Jesus said? He said, heaven and earth will pass away, but my word won't. Jesus said this. He said, it's easier for heaven and earth to pass away than it is for one period of God's Word to fail. Why? Because heaven and earth are the. Are the child. His Word was the parent. It's easier for the earth to pass away than it would be for one of God's word. Just a period, he said a jot or a tittle. In Hebrew, that's equivalent to a period or a question mark or a punctuation mark in the English language. It's easier for the whole heaven and the earth to pass away than just one of God's periods on one of his sentences to fail. Now Jesus is bringing to our attention in his teaching there the sovereignty of the Word of God. Not anything in the earth that's more sovereign than God's eternal word. It is settled forever. You're not going to be able to change it. Thank God. If we could have, we'd have muddled around and Done that? Oh we tried. We said it didn't mean it, but it did. And some folks say Jesus is not coming, but he's coming whether they believe it or not. You know why? Because he said he would. That's enough. He said he was coming. Now then, remember now we put put these things together. His God releases his faith in his words. And the Bible said his word is forever. Now there is a Bible secret concerning words. It really isn't a secret, but it's. You won't find it anywhere but the Bible. The secret that the Bible carries and teaches about words is their ability to carry words. Have the God given ability to be containers. Don't you remember the Bible talks about empty containers. Words foolish or empty words. Words that don't carry anything. Words that don't mean anything. Jesus said you will be made free or justified by your words and you will be condemned by your words. That's an awfully high premium to place on words. Words are the most important, the most powerful and the most able things that God has put into our hands. Read the gifts of the spirit and find out how much of it is surrounded by words. Salvation is up, held or lost by words. The Bible said if we confess with our mouths. Jesus says Lord, thou shalt be saved. Isn't that true? It's based on this Bible secret of, of words, ability to carry. Now words have the ability to be containers of fear. They have the ability to be containers of death. The Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Isn't that something else? The power of life and death is in the tongue. Not only in God's tongue, but in your tongue. The Bible said we're snared by the words of our mouth. Of course you remember what Jesus said in Mark 11:23. You shall have whatsoever you say. All right. Now with that in mind, let me show you something here. God filled his word containers with faith and released them. Now we find out by studying the word of God that to start with, God spoke certain things to his servant Abraham. He made an agreement with that man, did he not? Any of you know anything about your Bible? You know that God did not have much entree into the earth. Satan made a deal with Adam and took the earth away from from God's man. God gave it to Adam and Adam gave it to the devil. He took it and was ruling it the unchallenged ruler of the earth. Just no question about that. Isn't that true? All right. God comes in on the scene and he. He does Essentially the same thing with this man called Abram as, as Satan did in the Garden of Eden with Adam. He made a deal with this man and this man took him up on it the way Adam took Satan up on his deed. And this gave God an entree into the earth. Now what did he do to get in here? How did he establish it? He gave that man his word. He made a covenant or a contract with that man and he told him, I will do this and this and this and this if you will do this and this. It constituted a contract and they sealed it in the flesh of the man. The man shed his blood as a promise that he had not break that thing with God. Now, as long as he didn't, God had a way to operate in the earth. And what the man did, you see, he. He faced enemies, he faced drought, he faced financial ruin, he faced disease. He faced everything at with this, God said. And brought God in on the scene, didn't he? Can you see the integrity of God in that? All right, God said. God said, now, Now God told Abraham that nobody could put him into bondage. He said, if you walk upright before me, I'll bless you in the city and I'll bless you in the field. And if your enemies come out against you one way, they'll flee. 7 Abraham believed that and there couldn't anybody put him in bondage. They tried, but they couldn't get him. But God said, now this is true to all of your descendants. Well, what happened to his descendants came down several hundred years and they didn't know what God said. What happened to them? They wound up in bondage. 400 years of bondage. Now did you know that they were just as free before Pharaoh put them in bondage as they were the day Moses led them out of there. It would have worked the first day as well as it did the last day. But they didn't know what God had said, so they didn't have any way of tapping into his unreasonable resource of power. So consequently it was not active in their lives. And they kept crying out to God and God kept giving the answer and they couldn't hear it. They'd cry out to God and make some more bricks. Cry out to God and get beat up again. Oh, when's God going to do something? God already done something 400 years before they didn't know it. Now they were washing their hands, right? Eating their food, right? See, just a bunch of traditions. Washing your hands, eating your food and tie your tie, right? Be a good little trooper, make the Bricks don't work. So the Bible says in the book of Exodus. Now catch this. God remembered his covenant or his contract. What is a contract? It's when a man gives his word and makes it official. This is what I said, you know, and a contract's good three months from the day it's made, as good as it is the day it's made. But in it, in the contract, isn't that right? Man sticks his name on the bottom of that and it says, this is it. When we rented this building here, when we got, you know, ready to settle on this thing, and we're going to pay this much amount of money for these meetings. And these men said, all right, you, you. You fellows will pay this on this certain day. And we said, well, we sure do hope so. You know what they'd have said? Go meet in the yard someplace. We had to give our word that it would be paid. We signed that contract that we would do certain things. And thank God we paid it. You finally see my word was good. It's still good. It's just as good as the day that I signed the contract. And you know, these men here operating this bill, they've done everything they said they'd do, haven't they? The contract's good and valid, isn't it? There's word that has integrity to it, that's come together and it's valid and it's strong, and it'll be just as good until this whole thing is finished as it was a month or two or three ago when we made that contract. And that's what was true with Abraham and his descendants. The Bible says that God remembered his covenant. He remembered his contract with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. And he called a man named Moses. See, Moses, whole ministry was in behalf of God's word in the earth. He called this man and he called him up to him and he got his attention. And he said, here's what I said to Abraham. Write it down. And God wrote the 10 major articles of what he said to Abraham down on that tablet with his own finger. Why? So that they could believe it. Was the Word any less powerful than it was when he gave it to Abraham? No, but it had to be written down where people could see exactly what God said. Now, what got Eve into trouble? Not knowing what God said? She quoted God and added her own. She put the Book of Eve, chapter one, verse one, right on the end of that. God didn't tell them they couldn't touch that tree in the garden. He just said, you can't eat of it, she said God told us we can't eat of it or touch it. Women seem to be like that. Well, laugh every one of you. You guys been believing it just like he did. Let your wife do all the spiritual matters. Even if she does ball up the word of God like that. You know, that's what got him into trouble, is the same thing most us did for years, letting Mama do it. So God had this man Moses to write down his word that he had given Abraham. Now this is the pattern that follows all the way through the Bible. God would call a prophet and he would say, write this down. This is part of what I am saying. I'm saying this in the earth now. I said all of that to bring you to this point. We said God releases his faith with his words, does he not? Does God speak empty words? Has he ever said anything that was empty? It's impossible to please God without faith. Well, if it's impossible to please him without faith, you know good and well that he's not. He's not two faced, demanding we operate without faith. But then he goes and operates without faith. No, he is a faith being. Everything he does is filled with faith. Every word he's ever uttered, whether it's in the heart of a man, in the mind of a man, or in his mouth as he exploded it through the universe, was filled with faith. Every word he ever uttered was filled with faith. And every one of his faith filled words are alive. They're alive with faith. They're not empty words that fall. God told Samuel, he said, I'll never allow one of your words to fall to the ground. Those words of God are alive. They're still in this universe and they're alive. They're settled forever in heaven. All of the corporate power of heaven. Every angel the Bible said hearkens to the word of the Lord. His words are still filled with, with his faith. The same measure of faith, the same brand of faith and the same kind of faith that created everything you see. His words are alive. His word is forever. And every word you see in that Bible, every one of those words are right today. As filled with the faith of God as they were the day the Spirit of God released those words in the heart of a man and he pinned them on paper. They are eternal. And they are as eternal now as they ever were. You following me? God stuck with it. He said it. It's forever. It is forever now. God, you see, continued to reveal his word to men. And as he did so, they continued to Write it down until he released enough power in his words to produce Jesus of Nazareth. When he completed and finally, in spite of all men could do to him, he finally worked with the prophets. Even when some of them wouldn't listen, he used a donkey. That's encouraging to some of us. He continued through the years and through the then time that went by. Every spark of attention that he could get from a prophet, he would reveal his word and his heart to that man. And that man would write down the purity of it and the Holy Spirit would refine it and purify it and save that which was the faith filled word of God. And we have a copy of it so that we can read it and believe it and expound it and read it with our eyes and hear it with our ears and feed it into our heart. Now these words are faith filled and they're filled with God's faith. Now his faith and our faith come together on his word, his integrity. God said it, it must be so. Now we must come to the place where his faith is active in these words now. And our faith begins to be active in these words now. The faith that we have on the inside of us, God gave us, it's the same faith. It is the gift of God. That's the way you got saved. That's the only way in the world you could have ever accepted Jesus Christ as Lord. And when those faith filled words of God are poured into your faith, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the words of God. Your faith is activated, his faith is activated. And against such, the Bible says there is no law. Nothing Satan can do, nothing the earth can produce can overcome that. When it is applied according to God's word. The Bible says this is the victory that overcometh the world. Even our faith. The Word simply says in, in the book of Galatians that against these forces and faith is one of them that's named there, there is no law. There's no law against it. Nothing can stop it. Why? Because God filled these words with his faith. And when we act upon them, then he goes into action. He must. His words are alive with his faith. His Word prevails in the lips of a believer. We find in the book of Acts. The Bible said the word of God prevailed. The word prevailed the lips of the apostle Paul. And here again a new covenant came into being. God raised Jesus from the dead and a new covenant happened. A new word was in the earth and Jesus began it. He put it into motion and he only gave one little small bit of it. Just a little tiny part of the new covenant. Just before he ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father, he issued the very first article of the new covenant. And he said, in my name these things will happen and these signs will follow the believer. Didn't he do it? And he left. What did Peter say at the beautiful gate only hours after Pentecost, when the Spirit of God came into the earth to minister according to this, this continuation of God's covenant that he's put into the earth. A new covenant, a better one with better promises. Praise God to put this living word into the earth just a few hours later. What did Peter say? He said, why do you men look at us as though through our holiness this man was made strong? He said it was through faith in the name of Jesus that this man that stands before you was made strong. He's using only just a little bit that he knew. He didn't know anything about the nine gifts of the Spirit. The Apostle Paul hadn't written that to Corinth yet. All he's using is just the words of Jesus. Where Jesus put the new covenant into motion in the earth. Thank God. And they stormed the earth with just what you can read in just five verses of the 16th chapter of Mark. They turned the earth upside down. They didn't even know the Gentiles could get saved. Do you have any idea? Had no idea. Isn't that true? Ten years before they had any idea that Gentiles could get saved. And God just almost had to knock Peter in the head, get him to realize it. But what happened when he did? Another part of the new covenant was established. The same pattern that went on in the old one. He'd get a man where he would listen. But the difference was this time, praise God, there was a whole bunch of them in the earth. Spiritually new men and filled with the Holy Spirit of God. It wasn't coming as hard as it did over in that other one. Not only that, Satan had had his teeth pulled. Praise God. By Jesus. And now there's a new thing going on in the earth and he ain't got a dog's chance against it. I like that. Praise the Lord. So follow me. Jesus stood fearless in his ministry in the face of Satan and demonic power. How? He said, it's the Father that dwelleth within me. He doeth the works. Remember, he said, if I point the finger of God. What did the Bible say? All these things are the Bible said he defeated Satan. He cast him out with his words. Those faith filled words. Now you have to remember that Jesus said that my Father has given me the words that I speak. The Bible God told Moses, he said, I'll send a prophet among you. He'll be like you. I will put my words in his mouth and you will listen to him. The Bible said the words that Jesus spoke were the words of God. Therefore he gave him his spirit without measure. The integrity of the word of God is unsurpassed even by the mental ability of a man to comprehend what integrity is all about. God's word, man. And it's thank God blood has been shed to get into your lap. A copy of everything God said to these prophets. And if it was ever real to them, it's still filled with faith now. And it's just as real to you and it's just as real to me as it was to that prophet. God didn't say that to that prophet just to get the prophet free. He said it to the prophet to get the people free. He said it to Moses to get Israel free. And he said it to Jesus to make the church free. Remember what Jesus said. He said, you continue in My word and you'll be my disciples indeed. And you'll know the truth and the truth will make you free. He said, you abide in me and what my words abide in you, ask what you will and it'll be done unto you. So what have we said here? God releases his faith with his words. His words are forever. They are alive. The Bible said His word is a living thing and sharper than any two edged sword. And it will divide and take asunder. It'll take apart the spirit and the soul and the joints and the morrow and the thoughts and the intent of the heart, it'll discern. It is a living thing. We're dealing with a living God and a living thing and a real Jesus that is really alive. Hallelujah. His word is forever. His faith and our faith come together by His Word and on His Word his faith is active in these words now, right now, today. Romans 10:17 says, for his words prevail in the lips of a believer. Jesus. His words prevailed and Satan didn't have a chance. And then we come along in his name, speak the same words and and the same Holy Spirit carries those same faith filled words from our lips into action. And they will produce just as abundantly as they do when God speaks them. If we make them according to His Word, according to his leadership, and not try to do it with our own wisdom. We lean not to our own understanding, but we trust with all of our heart in the Lord. Words prevail in the life of the believer. Word of God prevails in prayer and it'll make him free and his prayers are answered. And then we can see the rest of this beautiful picture. We'll go on in a later time. That God's words. God's words coupled with our words bring life eternal with God. You have the power in your mouth as a believer to energize the dead spirit of a human being and make him alive unto God and be a co laborer with God in bringing forth the birth of a human being. How privileged can you get? God has privileged us as men and women to sire the human race. And he's gone a step further than that. And he's privileged us as spiritual beings, his own children, to sire his eternal family. Hallelujah.
