Navigating the Bible: Hebrews

About this sermon

“There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office. But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” - Hebrews 7:23-25 The book of Hebrews is an interesting first step out of Paul’s letters. In many ways, Hebrews may be even better read earlier in a New Testament reading because it has a heavy focus on Old Testament stories. Hebrews reads like a connector or bridge between Old and New Testaments while, at its heart, being a book of comfort - a book reminding of God’s faithfulness; a book continuously pointing to Christ.
