Thank you so much for downloading 0:01:34.160 --> 0:01:37.800 this podcast. I believe God has amazing things in your future. 0:01:38.040 --> 0:01:48.600 I hope you enjoy this message. Thank you mother. No, 0:01:48.760 --> 0:01:52.640 we're here and in your love. Amen. So, how's your 0:01:52.640 --> 0:01:56.520 outlook on life today? Do you get up this morning 0:01:56.560 --> 0:02:01.040 ready to embrace the day? I believe that you did. 0:02:01.560 --> 0:02:05.160 But you know, there's too many people that allow their 0:02:05.200 --> 0:02:11.399 circumstance to dictate their attitude. They don't even realize that 0:02:11.720 --> 0:02:17.200 their attitude is a choice that they make every single day. See, 0:02:17.240 --> 0:02:21.880 the Bible tells us to consistently and constantly put on 0:02:21.960 --> 0:02:27.560 this fresh new mental attitude. See, we choose the way 0:02:27.600 --> 0:02:30.560 we see life. We can either look at what's good 0:02:30.560 --> 0:02:33.920 in life and decide to be grateful about that, or 0:02:33.960 --> 0:02:37.040 we can look at what didn't work out and how 0:02:37.080 --> 0:02:40.600 things didn't go our way and allow it to give 0:02:40.680 --> 0:02:45.400 us a negative perspective on life. We've all heard that 0:02:45.560 --> 0:02:49.000 saying the glass half full or the glass half empty. 0:02:49.760 --> 0:02:53.640 You see that saying is so timeless because it makes 0:02:53.639 --> 0:02:57.239 such an amazing point. See, the water in the glass 0:02:57.840 --> 0:03:01.360 is the same amount. It's just how one chooses to 0:03:01.480 --> 0:03:05.200 see the water that makes all the difference in the world. 0:03:06.360 --> 0:03:08.600 I know this girl that kind of always had a 0:03:08.639 --> 0:03:12.360 bend towards negative. You could ask her, how you doing today, 0:03:12.840 --> 0:03:15.760 and it was almost funny. You could predict she was 0:03:15.800 --> 0:03:18.400 going to start telling you the things that were going 0:03:18.440 --> 0:03:20.840 wrong in her life. One day she said, Oh, I 0:03:20.960 --> 0:03:23.320 was late to work. I had to take my children 0:03:23.360 --> 0:03:26.239 to the doctor. The doctor didn't open till nine o'clock. 0:03:26.919 --> 0:03:28.720 She said, Now I have to stay late at the 0:03:28.760 --> 0:03:30.960 office because there's so much work for me to do, 0:03:31.240 --> 0:03:33.120 and you know, you're listening to this and it almost 0:03:33.560 --> 0:03:37.000 makes you grin because you're thinking you're kidding. Right. Then 0:03:37.040 --> 0:03:39.480 she goes on to say, my house is a disaster 0:03:39.560 --> 0:03:42.120 when I get home late from work. My husband doesn't 0:03:42.160 --> 0:03:44.680 know how to work the vacuum cleaner, he doesn't know 0:03:44.720 --> 0:03:48.640 to how to work the dishwasher, on and on. And 0:03:48.680 --> 0:03:51.640 you know, when you listen to this, you realize, you 0:03:51.680 --> 0:03:54.680 know what, she probably got a pretty good husband. In fact, 0:03:54.720 --> 0:03:57.680 I know her husband, and he's a good man. He 0:03:57.760 --> 0:04:01.000 has a good job, he works hard, he loves to 0:04:01.040 --> 0:04:03.360 take the kids out on Saturdays, and she can have 0:04:03.400 --> 0:04:06.960 the whole house to herself. But instead of looking at 0:04:06.960 --> 0:04:11.120 the richness in her life, she chooses to look at 0:04:11.160 --> 0:04:15.400 the negative. And when you begin to focus on the negative, 0:04:15.440 --> 0:04:19.200 you know what you see more negative. And when you 0:04:19.279 --> 0:04:24.040 see this negative, it's like swimming against the current. It's 0:04:24.279 --> 0:04:29.279 just a struggle. It's difficult and it's hard. I believe 0:04:29.320 --> 0:04:32.120 that we need to learn how to manage our thoughts. 0:04:32.440 --> 0:04:35.880 We need to learn how to rearrange our thoughts so 0:04:35.920 --> 0:04:39.400 that we can literally see what we have and then 0:04:39.520 --> 0:04:43.719 enjoy what we have. The other day, I walked past 0:04:43.760 --> 0:04:45.880 one room in my house. It's my living room, and 0:04:45.960 --> 0:04:47.560 sometimes when I go in there, I think I don't 0:04:47.720 --> 0:04:50.240 like the way this room looks. In fact, I thought 0:04:50.240 --> 0:04:51.640 I wish I could just get rid of all this 0:04:51.760 --> 0:04:55.880 furniture and start over. That would be so amazing. I 0:04:55.880 --> 0:04:58.960 all found myself walking by the past the room several 0:04:59.000 --> 0:05:02.640 times as the days went on, and looking in there 0:05:02.640 --> 0:05:05.719 and having just a really negative attitude towards that room, 0:05:05.800 --> 0:05:09.480 almost like ugh. And then I realized, I'm not going 0:05:09.560 --> 0:05:13.240 to be getting any new furniture anytime soon, so I 0:05:13.400 --> 0:05:17.280 better just go in there and rearrange the furniture. So 0:05:17.400 --> 0:05:20.680 I began shifting the furniture, putting towels under the legs 0:05:20.680 --> 0:05:22.760 of the couch. How many of you women to pulling 0:05:22.839 --> 0:05:26.920 that couch scooting everything around, you know. By the time 0:05:26.960 --> 0:05:31.320 I finally finished, I stepped back and I looked at 0:05:31.320 --> 0:05:34.159 that room and I thought, I like this room. This 0:05:34.240 --> 0:05:37.800 looks really good. I went and got myself a cup 0:05:37.839 --> 0:05:40.800 of tea, sat on the couch. I thought, I've never 0:05:40.839 --> 0:05:43.880 seen that piece of furniture from that perspective. That really 0:05:43.920 --> 0:05:47.280 looks good. The way that curves around there. You see, 0:05:47.600 --> 0:05:50.400 I was able to have a fresh new attitude about 0:05:50.400 --> 0:05:54.080 that room, I was able to see it differently because 0:05:54.160 --> 0:05:59.240 I rearranged it, And just the way I rearranged my furniture, 0:05:59.440 --> 0:06:02.919 we need to rearrange our thoughts. We need to push 0:06:02.960 --> 0:06:06.679 our thoughts around so our thoughts don't push us around. 0:06:08.200 --> 0:06:10.880 You know, when you get down and discouraged, you need 0:06:10.920 --> 0:06:13.800 to recognize what it is and you need to stop 0:06:13.880 --> 0:06:16.640 and think what am I thinking about? And I think 0:06:16.720 --> 0:06:21.400 oftentimes we need to rearrange our thoughts in simple ways. One, 0:06:21.480 --> 0:06:24.120 we need to be grateful, but sometimes we just need 0:06:24.160 --> 0:06:27.440 to change the atmosphere that we're in. Have you ever 0:06:27.480 --> 0:06:31.000 been working in the office and you're you're tired, and 0:06:31.040 --> 0:06:32.799 you think, you know what I just need to break? 0:06:33.360 --> 0:06:36.120 Maybe you need to walk outside and begin to look 0:06:36.120 --> 0:06:39.279 at the trees and the sunshine and the sky, and 0:06:39.320 --> 0:06:42.360 the buds on the flower, the texture of the bark, 0:06:42.800 --> 0:06:46.000 and begin to just say, isn't that beautiful what God 0:06:46.080 --> 0:06:50.880 has created? To just stop and think about something differently, 0:06:51.520 --> 0:06:54.600 you see. I believe sometimes if we'll simply just change 0:06:54.600 --> 0:06:57.880 our routine, maybe there's some things that we're doing that 0:06:57.960 --> 0:07:01.000 we need to not be doing anymore. A friend of 0:07:01.040 --> 0:07:03.800 mine said that every day she would go out to 0:07:03.880 --> 0:07:06.239 lunch with the same group of people, and she loved 0:07:06.240 --> 0:07:08.560 her friends and all, but when she got back to work, 0:07:08.760 --> 0:07:10.600 it was just like, oh man, I've got half a 0:07:10.680 --> 0:07:14.840 day to go. She made this conscious decision. She said, 0:07:14.880 --> 0:07:16.679 you know, I don't like the way I'm feeling about 0:07:16.720 --> 0:07:20.120 my job. How I'm just being so mundane about it. 0:07:20.360 --> 0:07:23.280 She said, I'm going to choose a few new people 0:07:23.320 --> 0:07:25.800 to go to lunch with. So she looked around her 0:07:25.880 --> 0:07:28.840 office and she asked some different people to go to 0:07:28.920 --> 0:07:31.480 lunch with her. In fact, she got a new little group, 0:07:31.960 --> 0:07:35.400 and she said, I had so much fun just getting 0:07:35.520 --> 0:07:38.280 in a new group of people, listening to their ideas, 0:07:38.800 --> 0:07:41.480 their jokes, the way they were. She said. I came 0:07:41.560 --> 0:07:45.400 back to work and she said, I had a new perspective. 0:07:45.640 --> 0:07:49.560 I was ready to tackle that day. It was so refreshing. 0:07:50.200 --> 0:07:52.960 You see, sometimes we just need to get a new 0:07:53.000 --> 0:07:56.680 outlook on what we already have. I heard about this 0:07:56.800 --> 0:07:59.880 man who was really down, he was really discouraged. He 0:08:00.160 --> 0:08:02.960 went to one of his pastors at the church and 0:08:03.000 --> 0:08:04.960 he told him, he said, my life is just I 0:08:05.040 --> 0:08:07.280 just don't have anything good going on. My life is 0:08:07.360 --> 0:08:10.400 just a wreck. The pastor said, come on into my office, 0:08:10.400 --> 0:08:12.200 and let's just sit down and talk a little bit. 0:08:12.640 --> 0:08:16.280 The pastor pulled out this legal pad of paper. He 0:08:16.400 --> 0:08:18.720 drew a line down the center of it, and he said, 0:08:18.800 --> 0:08:21.559 let's take this little test. He said, on the right side, 0:08:21.600 --> 0:08:24.200 I'm going to put all your assets, all the things 0:08:24.240 --> 0:08:27.040 that are good in your life. On the left side, 0:08:27.080 --> 0:08:30.680 I'm going to put your challenges, your problems, your disappointments. 0:08:31.120 --> 0:08:33.120 The man just kind of hung his head and he said, 0:08:33.120 --> 0:08:35.160 you know, I'm not going to have anything right in 0:08:35.200 --> 0:08:37.760 my life. The pastor said, let's just go ahead and 0:08:37.760 --> 0:08:40.040 take the test. He said, you know, I am so 0:08:40.280 --> 0:08:44.320 sorry to hear that your wife passed away. He looked 0:08:44.360 --> 0:08:47.200 up and he said, my wife didn't pass away. She's 0:08:47.240 --> 0:08:50.839 alive and she's healthy. He said, really, He wrote on 0:08:50.880 --> 0:08:54.000 the right side of the page, wife alive and healthy. 0:08:55.440 --> 0:08:57.840 He said, that's a shame that your house burnt down. 0:08:58.400 --> 0:08:59.640 The man looked at him and he said, what do 0:08:59.720 --> 0:09:02.720 you talk talking about. My house didn't burn down. I'm 0:09:02.800 --> 0:09:05.920 living in my house. He said, oh. He wrote on 0:09:05.960 --> 0:09:08.559 the right side of the page, living in a house. 0:09:09.559 --> 0:09:12.559 The man said, where are you getting all this ridiculous information. 0:09:13.559 --> 0:09:16.360 The pastor looked at him and then he wised up 0:09:16.760 --> 0:09:21.160 and he realized he's trying to show me a new perspective, 0:09:21.679 --> 0:09:24.760 a new way of thinking. By the time they finished 0:09:24.800 --> 0:09:29.080 their little session, that man had listed several things on 0:09:29.120 --> 0:09:31.240 the right side of the page that was right in 0:09:31.280 --> 0:09:33.880 his life, and he left out of there with a 0:09:33.920 --> 0:09:38.160 good attitude and a spring in his step. Amen, have 0:09:38.240 --> 0:09:43.120 you ever heard that saying that says your attitude determines 0:09:43.400 --> 0:09:48.319 your altitude? What that means is is there our attitudes 0:09:48.360 --> 0:09:51.840 have a direct correlation with the success in our life. 0:09:52.400 --> 0:09:55.199 Have you ever met somebody with just a good attitude. 0:09:55.400 --> 0:09:58.880 They always saw the solutions and not the problems. They 0:09:58.880 --> 0:10:01.920 felt like they could tackle anything. It makes you want 0:10:01.960 --> 0:10:06.120 to just be around that person. See, your attitude can 0:10:06.160 --> 0:10:10.280 determine your altitude. All of you know the story about 0:10:10.400 --> 0:10:13.800 Joshua and Caleb. They were two of the twelve spies 0:10:14.160 --> 0:10:18.280 that Moses picked to go into Canaan, which was the 0:10:18.360 --> 0:10:22.040 promised land that God had promised the Israelites when they 0:10:22.320 --> 0:10:25.720 left Egypt, And so Joshua and Caleb and ten other 0:10:25.800 --> 0:10:30.520 spies were directed by Moses to go into Canaan and 0:10:30.600 --> 0:10:33.840 to buy out the land to see what the cities 0:10:33.840 --> 0:10:36.320 were like. See what the people were like. Look at 0:10:36.320 --> 0:10:39.760 the vegetation. He even said, bring back some of the 0:10:39.840 --> 0:10:42.600 vegetation so we can see what the soil is like 0:10:42.679 --> 0:10:46.760 and what it's producing. So the twelve men went into 0:10:46.800 --> 0:10:49.840 the land of Canaan. They were there for forty days. 0:10:50.200 --> 0:10:55.240 They collected these huge grapes, they saw these amazing pomegranates, 0:10:55.520 --> 0:10:58.800 they saw the people. They wandered around for forty days, 0:10:59.160 --> 0:11:01.960 and when they got back to the camp, every one 0:11:02.000 --> 0:11:06.520 of those men said, the land is rich. It is 0:11:06.600 --> 0:11:11.160 indeed land that is flowing with milk and honey, just 0:11:11.360 --> 0:11:15.600 like we have heard. But the difference was that ten 0:11:15.640 --> 0:11:20.080 of those men took what they saw and they perceived 0:11:20.160 --> 0:11:25.600 it different. They perceived it as it was great land. 0:11:25.920 --> 0:11:28.320 It was flowing with milk and honey. But there are 0:11:28.360 --> 0:11:32.679 giants in the land. The cities have huge walls around them. 0:11:33.200 --> 0:11:36.640 Will never be able to conquer those people because they're 0:11:36.760 --> 0:11:40.319 way bigger than we are. In comparison to us, we 0:11:40.360 --> 0:11:44.880 look like grasshoppers in our own site. They begin to 0:11:45.000 --> 0:11:49.240 take what they perceived and spread it throughout the whole 0:11:49.320 --> 0:11:53.560 camp two million people. Can you imagine they just went 0:11:53.640 --> 0:11:57.880 in and spread that. Well, when Joshua and Caleb said, 0:11:57.920 --> 0:12:01.200 we saw the same thing the land, and is good. 0:12:01.240 --> 0:12:04.080 It is what God said it was. We need to 0:12:04.120 --> 0:12:06.439 go up right now and we need to take that 0:12:06.600 --> 0:12:10.240 land at once, and if God is pleased with us, 0:12:10.559 --> 0:12:17.240 we'll be successful. Ten spies saw the glass half empty, 0:12:17.840 --> 0:12:26.880 where two spies saw the glass half full. It's amazing 0:12:27.760 --> 0:12:32.840 how your attitude can affect what you see. Joshua and Caleb, 0:12:32.960 --> 0:12:36.440 although they had a good report, that good report was 0:12:36.480 --> 0:12:41.320 not good enough to diffuse the negative rumors that had 0:12:41.360 --> 0:12:45.040 spread throughout all the people. It was so negative that 0:12:45.080 --> 0:12:49.960 the Bible says they were crying and complaining and murmuring, saying, 0:12:50.040 --> 0:12:53.480 can we just go back to Egypt? And do you 0:12:53.520 --> 0:12:56.280 know the Lord told Moses, he said, every one of 0:12:56.320 --> 0:12:59.120 you are going to go back to Egypt because of 0:12:59.160 --> 0:13:04.280 your bad attitude. You're murmuring, you're complaining your perception of 0:13:04.320 --> 0:13:08.520 who I am in your life. But the point of 0:13:08.559 --> 0:13:10.920 my story, and the one that I really want us 0:13:10.960 --> 0:13:15.280 to see today, is this that God gave Joshua and 0:13:15.360 --> 0:13:20.079 Caleb a second chance to enter the Promised Land. The 0:13:20.080 --> 0:13:23.840 Bible says that the forty days that those men were 0:13:23.920 --> 0:13:28.560 examining the Promised Land, that's how long that the children 0:13:28.600 --> 0:13:31.960 at Israel were going to wonder in the wilderness one 0:13:32.040 --> 0:13:35.680 year for every day, they were going to wonder forty 0:13:36.000 --> 0:13:39.240 years in the wilderness. Now, can I tell you the 0:13:39.240 --> 0:13:42.800 ones with the good report, Joshua and Caleb, the ones 0:13:43.440 --> 0:13:46.320 with the attitude, if we can take the land. They 0:13:46.440 --> 0:13:50.280 also had to wonder in the wilderness for forty years. 0:13:50.840 --> 0:13:53.800 But the Bible says this about them. They were of 0:13:54.320 --> 0:14:00.560 a different spirit. One version says an excellent spirit. So 0:14:00.679 --> 0:14:03.839 when it was their opportunity after forty years to take 0:14:03.880 --> 0:14:07.839 the younger generation into the promised land, this is what 0:14:07.920 --> 0:14:12.520 Caleb said. He said, listen, I'm stronger and I'm more 0:14:12.559 --> 0:14:18.600 determined than ever to take this land. When they thrived 0:14:18.640 --> 0:14:22.760 in the wilderness for forty years, the rest of them 0:14:23.320 --> 0:14:27.320 died in the wilderness. Can I tell you when you 0:14:27.440 --> 0:14:30.400 have a perception of who God is, when you can 0:14:30.440 --> 0:14:33.400 look out over your situation and you can have a 0:14:33.440 --> 0:14:37.960 good attitude, using what you have and valuing what you have, 0:14:38.760 --> 0:14:41.520 you can make it through the struggles of life. You 0:14:41.560 --> 0:14:45.080 can make it through the wilderness moments better off and 0:14:45.160 --> 0:14:50.080 more determined than you ever thought you were. When Joshua 0:14:50.120 --> 0:14:52.640 and Caleb were about to go in. This is what 0:14:52.720 --> 0:14:56.280 they spoke to the younger generation. This was their mantra, 0:14:56.680 --> 0:15:00.920 their leadership vision. They said, guys, I can only imagine. 0:15:00.960 --> 0:15:04.880 He looked at all them and he said, choose, ye 0:15:04.920 --> 0:15:10.160 this day, who you will serve. He was saying, every day, 0:15:10.680 --> 0:15:14.960 choose your attitude. Every day you can choose the way 0:15:15.000 --> 0:15:19.320 you see life. Choose today how you're gonna see this 0:15:19.520 --> 0:15:22.640 journey into the Promised Land. And he said, for me 0:15:22.760 --> 0:15:25.800 and my house, we're going to serve the Lord. We're 0:15:25.800 --> 0:15:30.360 gonna choose to overlook a fence. We're gonna choose to 0:15:30.560 --> 0:15:34.760 quiet the discouraging voices that we try to come against us. 0:15:35.200 --> 0:15:38.680 We're gonna choose to believe that God is a big God, 0:15:39.000 --> 0:15:42.160 and we're going to hope on in faith. You see. 0:15:42.160 --> 0:15:45.480 I believe when we take inventory of our thoughts, we 0:15:45.560 --> 0:15:49.920 will be like Joshua and Caleb. In fact, we'll outlast 0:15:50.120 --> 0:15:53.240 anything that the enemy is trying to come against us with, 0:15:53.600 --> 0:15:56.000 and we'll go in and we'll take the land that 0:15:56.040 --> 0:16:00.640 God has given us.
