Kathryn Kuhlman & Hal Lindsey Part 4 "Open Doors to Demons" & "Deliverance Testimony #2"

First of all, hell, Lindsay, I want you to know that it's always, it's not only a pleasure. But you and I have such good times together, you know. I mean, the communication is so great. And when we get to talking, it's all over with so quickly. Oh, thanks for coming again and being my guest. Thank you for having me. I just always look forward to talking with you because we're talking about the things that both of us would give our lives for. You bet. I mean, everything else is so dull in life. Do you find it too? It surely is. This is one thing that we said we could discuss today, and that is if somehow we could get not only the young people, but the adults, to know how serious, how dangerous it is to get involved with the occult. Right. You know, I'd like to read a passage about that. Be careful. That's my Bible. I've never really used that, have I? Well, you see, I've staked my whole life on everything that's in it. Yeah, it'll fall apart, but okay. Well, praise the Lord for a well -used Bible. I'm tired of seeing those nice, elegant Bibles sitting at the shelf knowing the idiot. I know. I always wonder whether they use them at all or not. Go ahead. Well, I'd like to read something that I feel will set our talk today. From Deuteronomy chapter 18. the ninth verse, because it warns against playing with the occult. I doubt whether many of our listeners today actually will go into witchcraft or Satan worship, but I believe that it's really important that people learn how terribly dangerous it is to play with the occult. And they are led into it so innocently. Right. Well, this is what God says about it, and I believe that that's the greatest warning that we can hear. He says, when you are come into the land, he's speaking to Moses and he's talking to him about bringing the people of Israel out of Egypt into Israel. He says, when you are come to the land, which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. He calls the following things, the abominations that the nations practiced. There shall not be found among you anyone that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire. This was human sacrifice, the sacrifice of children to demons. Or shall there be anyone who uses divination. Now this means fortune telling of all kinds, no matter what form it may take, whether it's palm reading or whether it's astrology or what. Divination means to seek to discover. secret information by a cultic means, by a means other than God's prophets. He says no one should dabble in this. Or an observer of the times. An observer of the times is a person who makes predictions by astrology. Or an enchanter or a witch. Now, of course, these are people who have various forms of enchantments, crafts. ceremonies by which they seek to establish contact with the spirit world. Or a charmer or a consulter with familiar spirits. A consulter with familiar spirits would be one who would seek to make contact with the spirit world and to speak through these voices of the spirits. But the most important Ones I believe are this, the necromancer. There shall not be found among you one who practices necromancy. Well, that's an unfamiliar word to today. It means seances, trying to make contact with the dead through a medium. For all of these, or all that do these things, are an abomination to the Lord. In other words, God warns all of us not to seek to be involved in fortune -telling through other than... His prophets. It's just as simple. Right. And not to dabble in the occultic means. And I believe this is a critical time in the history of the Western civilization. We have the greatest resurgence of interest in the supernatural and in the occult in the history of Western civilization going on right now. It's, I believe, because people have tried the, once we thought that science had ultimate answers to life and it proved that it didn't. It could give us many things, but it couldn't give us the ultimate answers to life. The young people expressed their disenchantment, their discouragement, their sorrow over this by the radical movements, I believe, searching for some reason for knowing how to face life. When that didn't seem to produce effects, they went into drugs. And then drugs proved to be a one -race street to disaster, so now they're dabbling in the occult. Always searching for some way to find an answer for the real... We've always had the occult, though. Always. It's been latent. But not like now. Never before in history has there been anything like now. And I believe it's really important for people to realize that even playing with a Ouija board can give Satan... A foothold in a life that he could use in the future to get either influence in the life or he can get outright possession through a demon. It all starts in such a small way. Right. That's the reason we have to be so careful. The little things, the little things. Well, I'd like to share something at this time about a case that involves a good friend of mine. His name is Bill. And Bill himself didn't quite know where he stood with the Lord. And his wife is of Jewish background. She was raised in London. Well, I've known them for quite some time. And his wife, Jackie, had read The Late Great Planet Earth. And through reading that and also talking with my secretary, she came to believe that Jesus is her Messiah. But all during a period of about three years. She had been very sick, and this sickness was so rare that the doctor said there were only about four cases on record similar to it. And she kept getting weaker, and finally, they called my secretary and I over to visit her. We were on our way to Israel the next day, but Bill really thought that his wife wouldn't be alive when we got back, so we went over to pray with her. And when I saw her, my heart just... sank because I could tell she was more dead than alive. And I was standing there feeling such a desire saying, God, isn't there something we can do here? And to my amazement, Bill said, my wife Jackie, while she was back in London visiting with her sister, she was pregnant and her sister was pregnant at the same time. She had her fortune read by a friend of the family, a medium they had known all their lives. And this fortune teller predicted that she was going to have a little boy, which she did have. And she predicted that her sister would have a little girl, but the little girl would not live. And the little girl did die about six months after she was born. And the fortune teller made many other predictions, he said, many of which have already come true. And he said, could there be a connection between Jackie being involved with his fortune teller and the sickness? And immediately, I began to feel that that was exactly the case. And I asked Jackie, I said, have you ever renounced your involvement with this fortune teller since you believed in Jesus? She said, no. Of course, she could barely speak. She was in and out of an oxygen tent. And I said, Jackie, would you be willing to renounce that in the name of Jesus Christ and to renounce any possible involvement with Satan through that? And she shook her head, I certainly would. So she prayed, bless her heart, she could hardly pray, she was so weak, but she renounced this. And while she was praying, I felt definitely impressed to pray that God would heal her. And so I prayed after her and I said, Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ and in his authority, I bind your authority over this woman. And Lord Jesus, I pray that you will heal her of this disease now. And so we finished praying, and I really felt that God had touched her. Well, we left and went to Israel. When we came back, my friend Bill, he called me and he said, you won't believe what happened. He said she came the closest to dying the next day that she ever had. We thought she was gone. But the day afterwards, when she woke up, he said she felt like a million bucks. That was really... No sign of this, you know, the terrible parts of this disease. She got up and for the first time in several months, she started practicing her ballet. Well, there has been a steady progress. It wasn't an instantaneous total healing at once, but a steady reversal of this ever since. And now she's up skiing for all day long and things like this, things that are just impossible. And the doctors believe that she has been healed of this and that... they're reviewing this and going to make a report on the case itself. And she's saving for the grand finale how her healing started. Now, Lindsay, if only we could get people to realize that they're not to get involved with these things. Well, I believe that's a clear -cut illustration of the danger of involvement with the occult. There's no question in my mind or in anyone else's mind. Especially Bill, he really got his faith straightened out as a believer in Jesus through this. But there's no question in any of our minds that the direct cause of that sickness was becoming involved with the occult. And you're opening yourself wide open to Satan. You are saying, all right, here I am. And in so doing, remember, you can't do it unless you use your own will. The will has much to do with the whole thing when we realize that every man is a ruler of a kingdom and that kingdom is himself. Right, exactly. Every young person really rules over a kingdom and that kingdom is himself. And he exercises his own will. Even when Jesus was here on earth in the form of man. Right. He had a will separate from the will of the father, and he could exercise his will apart from the father's will. I can use my, I have no one else to blame. I use my own will if I just deliberately get involved with the occult. I open myself, you know. That's the reason I wouldn't go to see the picture of the exorcist. I don't believe anyone should see it unless they have a very definite leading from God to do so. I don't think God would lead anybody, really. Well, don't say that because I saw it. Listen, I pray for you. Well, anyway, if you want to know about these things, go to the authority. This is it. The Word of God is absolute authority. And if you want to know the real truth about it, you go to the Word of God and you can't disregard the fact that there is a Satan. There is. Something happened between Genesis 1 -1 and Genesis 1 -2. God also mad. God got terribly mad. That was when... Lucifer, one of the most beautiful, most powerful angels, fell. We forget, you know, sometimes we think of Satan with a pitchfork and all this stuff. That's the tragedy. That's the tragedy. That's only man's imagination. When you realize that the one who is Satan today was given great power, was beautiful. beyond any beauty of man's imagination. And God gave him this power, and he is still the ruler. This planet Earth that you talk about, your great planet Earth, he still holds a title deed to this Earth. We forget that. And he challenged Jesus, and Jesus did not. Tell him he was a liar when he offered to give him the title to this earth. Give it back to him if he will bow down and serve him. We forget the power that was given him, and he still has. All that God took away from him was his beautiful body. He still is left with power. Tremendous power. Tremendous power. And I think this is where so many today are being deceived. They feel like that. You know, there really isn't this spiritual personality that he really doesn't have this kind of power. And yet people who get involved in the occult stay with it because they are having some supernatural experiences. And you know, since all this has come up and since I've taken my stand publicly and people have said to me, I never knew before that you believed in Satan, that you believed in... a devil because you've never preached about it do you know why i'll just tell you confidentially why it's because i'd rather talk about jesus you know you see you don't have to be afraid of vehicles When you know Jesus as your personal Savior and you're covered with the blood, you don't seek for other things in the occult. You go to Him. You get all your answers in His Word. You don't have to be afraid of Satan when you're abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. And you can look up and know that the... God, this universe, the great creator is your heavenly father. You don't have to be afraid of hell when you know to whom you belong. Don't you understand? Don't you understand? That's the reason I talk about Jesus. In him, you have freedom. In him you have security. Jesus, not as a mere example, but as the very son of the living God. The one who will set you free. The one who will take away fear. He'll take away your frustrations. Don't you understand? Jesus! the one who'll give you victory. Certainly Satan is powerful, but you and I are not only conquerors. We're more than conquerors through Christ who loved us. And how can you tell the counterfeit from the genuine? I'll tell you how. Only one sure way. If they talk about Jesus as the divine son of the living God, it is the blood, his blood, that maketh an atonement for the soul of man.
