You know, hell, Lindsay, before we begin our discussion today and when we get started, you know, there's no way we could go on for hours and hours and hours. But I want to tell you something personally. I might as well tell it before the whole world because it means so much to me. And that is the fact that you have never once gone off on the deep end. Never. You know, it's so very easy to go off into fanaticism. It's so easy. It's easy after one has become very successful to deviate from the Word of God and try to add to it or, you know. I know. But you've stuck with the Word. Hell, this is the Word. And you've stuck with the Word. And as long as you and I stay with the Word of God, the devil will never be able to make a nut out of this. You know it? It's staying with the Word. And I feel that God has given you a special ministry in the closing hours of this dispensation. It's a ministry of revealing the word of prophecy. It's something that God has given to you. It's something that's special. It's something that's marvelous. And I'm so glad I can sit down and talk with you about these things like no other person because it's the Holy Spirit who gives us the revelation. And you and I have never had to apologize once, have we? No. For the interpretation that God has given us. We have given to the people that God has given unto us and say, please, we were wrong. Everything that you have given regarding the fulfillment of the prophecy, God has lived up to the word. Take Israel. Go ahead. Start on that. Oh, that's great. Well, you know, I just wish that people could... hear the longer conversations that we have off the stage i know something on this prophecy we get going and we can't stop i know that we need hours we do i wish we had ours literally but uh you know uh the more i see the uh world events fitting into this pattern of prophecy that uh well many are talking about i'm sure but i had the privilege of writing about it in the late great planet earth and And now again, in the latest book, there's a new world coming. The more this pattern fits together, the more two things happen. Number one, the more I'm humbled to see the role I'm being pushed into. And in the second place, the more I see that people... who never would have considered listening to something about the Bible or something about Christianity, are open to consider today. And the more intelligent they are, the more they realize that something is about to happen. That's right. It seems that it's the ones who academically are highly trained that are really listening today. And, you know, just take this latest Middle East crisis to begin with. Yeah, just take it. It was exciting. It was. Every moment of it. Yes, it was. It was exciting to us who know the Word of God. Yeah, He's keeping His Word to Abraham and the seed of Abraham. Right. You know, I hope that the people, the descendants, the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that we commonly call today the Jews, I hope they realize that their greatest supporter in these United States today are evangelical Christians. I want them to know that so much. I really want them to know that too. It's not that we think that they have to believe what we believe. It's that the evangelical Christian has the record of the Word of God, that God has chosen them as a physical race. He intends to ultimately bring them into a blessing He promised Abraham. And he promised he would bless those who blessed them and he would curse those who cursed them. And an evangelical Christian believes that, you know. Sure. But, you know, I read something that I'd like to share with you today. This was in the New York Jewish Press, May 22nd, 1970. And Menachem Israel was the correspondent. And he quoted a saying of Rabbi Chaim Voloshner. Now, I believe he was a rabbi in the latter part of the 19th century. He spoke of the fact that one day the Jews would come back to the land of Israel and would get their home back and they would become a nation again. And he spoke of the fact that when this happened, the Russians would eventually attack them. And he said, and I quote, when the Russians cross the Dardanelles to enter the Middle East, put on your Sabbath garments and be prepared to welcome the Messiah, end of quote. Now he was speaking. right out of Ezekiel chapter 38, a prophet that wrote 2650 years ago, but said that the people would be scattered for a long period. The land of Israel would become a shambles and a desolate waste. And the people would be returned from the nations all over the world. They would make the land flourish again. They would become prosperous. And when that happened, both the Arabs and the Russians would unite against them. You know, this latest Middle East, I call it the Middle East crisis phase four, because it's the fourth one, what I believe will be a long line of them. But in this latest Middle East crisis, I believe we saw a pre -run of the way things will develop in that future time. Don't you? A preview of it. We really did. Because the Russians almost got into this last war. Now, I knew that they wouldn't. I knew they wouldn't come in with a great army. But there's coming a day when they will. Yes. I just knew there were certain things that hadn't happened yet. So it was exciting to watch it. Were you? Oh. Every hour of it, every day of it was very exciting, doing the Word of God and watching. Right. It was. But it was not their time yet. Yes, but there will come a time when they will cross the Dardanelles and they will move in the Middle East. And then they will sweep right through Israel and they will move into Egypt and to the Arab countries and take them over. You know, I used to wonder why they would do that. I used to wonder why the prophetic pattern was very clear. that for some reason the Russian Confederacy would double -cross the Arabs. You know, I believe it's becoming very clear why they will, because of the oil. Absolutely. You know, I've always said it, 25 years ago, if you wanted a real scoop on the future... A real scoop. Start reading the Word of God. And in the 38th chapter of Ezekiel, it's said that they'll go down after a spoil. And the spoil is the oil. It certainly would be, because what else would they have in that area that would be of any great use to the Russians or to their block of power? But now we can see how that Western civilization... literally oil freaks. We can't survive without oil. And the Russians are as desperate for oil to feed their industry and their economy as we are. And I believe there's going to become a growing controversy between the communist bloc and the free world for the oil spoils of the Arabs. And this throws the ingredient into this area because now As the Bible predicted, the Middle East is the focal point of the world. We can see the whole world, the eyes of the world, turning there. Isn't that amazing when you realize that Israel as a nation is only 25 years old? Think of that. That they would be a determining factor. The amazing thing. It really is. For 39 centuries, the seed of Abraham scattered people. 39 centuries. Think of it. And then they become a nation. And such a young nation, only 25 years old. And yet the eyes of the world are focused upon the Middle East, upon Israel. You know, I was reading recently in Ezekiel chapter 36. It really struck me because, you know, I've been to Israel many times, and the people are people that I dearly love. Yeah. But, you know, I don't believe that they are, at this point, the majority of the people are ready to believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Many of them are agnostics. But the interesting thing to me is that God predicted about the latter days when the nation of Israel would be brought back and all of this controversy would start between the Arabs and the Russians and so on over Israel. God said this, Therefore say to the house of Israel in Ezekiel 36, 22, Thus says the Lord God, It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for my holy name. which you have profaned among the nations where you went. I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when I prove myself holy among you in their sight. In other words, God is saying that it's not because they have come to a faith in their ancient God or that they're looking for the Messiah, that he's protecting them. It is because of his holy name and by the very miraculous acts of providence that he has wrought and he will work in the future in preserving Israel. He says he is going to vindicate his name, that the nations are going to begin to know that there is a God that's acting in history. You know, I'm just thrilled to death to see what's happening now. You take this latest Middle East crisis. I can understand the frustrations of the Arabs. I'm not anti -Arab. That's right. But at the same time, I believe that Israel has a right to live. And when they were attacked, they were caught by surprise. It's a miracle that they could recover. And especially that they could come back and take the initiative and pull off a perfect double envelopment. And if they'd have gone a couple more days, they would have surrounded the Second Army as well as the Third Army. I just don't believe that they have human wisdom enough to do this. I think that it's the providence of God that's acting behind it. I believe every word of that. I just believe it. And I believe that the situation is such now that one of these days, a great number of Israelis are going to begin to recognize that it's their ancient God. From the word of God. And that is the very word of God. Israel will not go down in defeat, no matter what happens. And all of these things that are happening now, they're not small things. but they're leading up to a very great thing. Yes, they are. A war that will end all wars. And all of these lesser fightings, just previews, and yet in between each one, there is a time of mercy. God's mercy is so marvelous. And now we're seeing a few accepting the Christ, the true Messiah. But there's coming an hour when all of Israel. That's right. Well, isn't it exciting? It's exciting. We'll bow the head and accept him as a true Messiah. All right. What's going to happen in the oil crisis? Well, I believe that the oil crisis has brought. world involvement to the Middle East. It's intensified a situation that was already there. I believe that what is going to happen is that there's going to become a greater and greater squeeze on the West with this oil, that there's going to come about such a tremendous pressure upon Western nations to turn against Israel, that eventually there's going to have to be another miracle brought about. to preserve Israel from being destroyed. I don't know exactly what that'll be. I just know it's going to happen. Somehow, Israel is going to be preserved as a nation. God said that twice they would be destroyed and twice they would be driven among the nations, twice they would come back, and at the end of that second dispersion, when they would come back for the second time and resettle the nation, they would never be driven away again. And so I know that somehow in this whole controversy, they have to survive. Daniel tells us that eventually Europe and the revived form of Rome, which I believe is going to be the European common market, that they will sign a pact with the leader of Israel guaranteeing their survival. It's going to be interesting to see how that shapes up. Aren't you thrilled to know that we're living in one of the greatest times and hour when we're seeing more prophecy being fulfilled in the shortest length of time since the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? This is the greatest thing to me. You know, many people fail to seize the significance of the moment that never before have all of these prophecies come together simultaneously. And that's why I've emphasized the sayings of Jesus when he said in Matthew 24, learn the parable of the fig tree. The fig tree puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. Then he said, even so, when you see all these things, the prophetic signs coming together, he said, no, I'm at the door ready to return. That generation will not pass away. See, this is the first time I'm thrilled. to see the first copy of There's a New World Coming. And it's just been off the press for a couple of weeks, and I got one of the first copies, right? I sure did. This is great. There's a new world coming. Yes. The scripture. This is, I wanted to emphasize that there is a hope in the midst of what we know is coming. We know that the world is coming to a point where it will be near extinction. And then Christ is going to come back with those who have believed in him. There'll never be an end to the world. People are talking about the end of the world. Not that. It's not the end of the world. But there is a new world coming. Right. Isn't the Bible thrilling? It is. It is up to date as tomorrow's newspaper. And so already there's, how many copies have been sold in only a couple of weeks? Well, I believe the latest counts 350 ,000, which is without precedent. No one can figure such a thing. It's just that people are so hungry to know what is happening. This book is on the book of Revelation. And personally, it's the most exciting book I've ever worked on. And I sought to make the book of Revelation understandable to the average man. And your first book has sold the great late planet Earth. How many copies of this have been sold? Well, including the Bantam edition, I understand that in the American edition, it's at almost 5 million. And it's all scriptural. I hope so. Again, I want to say to you, Hal Lindsey, I appreciate the fact that you've stayed with the Word. You can take the books that you have written in one hand and the Word of God in the other. I cannot find one thing that you have written that's contrary to the Scripture. Well, that is my greatest prayer. I appreciate it. If you and I will stay with the Word, and it's in the Word, and this is the very Word of God. I believe it. We do not have to defend the word. It needs no defense. This is. And God will keep his word. No man will change it. He'll keep this word to the crossing of every key, the dotting of every I. If you really want to know what the future holds. If you really. If you are a part of the news media. If you really. I say this to politicians. I say this to world leaders. Newspaper men. Those of you who are hungry for real information. And you want to know what the future holds. And I'm not talking about centuries away. I'm talking about tomorrow. I'm talking about next week. The word of God is more up to date than tomorrow morning's newspaper. You can stake your very life on God's word. Prophecy is being fulfilled so quickly. Read his word.
