Betrayed by his brothers. No one he could trust. A slave. But Joseph had something that had not been taken away. Joseph had the promise of God. (13 years in EGYPT before becoming PRIME MINISTER) – most scholars believe 1-2 years serving Potiphar--- and 10-12 years in prison… ---GOD’S PURPOSE outlasts every season that you walk through---God’s purpose remains the same even when your positions change… Your purpose is not defined by a role, a title, a salary, or a job---you purpose is to bring glory to God… MANY people want to be DISCOVERED, but few are willing to be DEVELOPED… YOUR PRISON has a PURPOSE that’s BIGGER THAN YOU YOU’RE NOT ALONE IN THIS PRISON--- ---Remember the Light lives inside of you---turn your prison of pain into a prison of praise WHAT if God wanted to TURN the PLACE of YOUR greatest MISERY into the place of your greatest MINISTRY? Chapter 40: The Prisoners' Dreams • Interpreting Dreams: While in prison, Joseph interprets the dreams of Pharaoh’s chief cupbearer and chief baker. • Accurate Predictions: He correctly predicts that the cupbearer will be restored to his position and the baker will be executed. • Forgotten: Joseph asks the cupbearer to remember him to Pharaoh, but once restored, the cupbearer forgets him for two years. ---THE WRONG INTERPRETER messes everything up… WE NEED the RIGHT INTERPRETATION--- When you let the enemy interpret what’s going on in your life, you’ll always be at a deficit. ---1 Cor. 14:13—pray for the interpretation ---The enemy will put your good news in a negative light. He’ll make you see your future through your flaws. He’ll have you look at your whole life through the lens of one situation. ----That’s why we need the Spirit of God: because when God is your interpreter, your story looks a whole lot different. He sees the negative parts of your story and knows that you’re just getting started. ---I AM PRAYING FOR THE LORD to help me have the POWER to get the RIGHT INTERPRETATION on situations, people, conversations, visions, dreams, etc… D—delays, desires, disappointment R—rejection E—emotions A—adversity M—my family-memories, momentum, my plans S--suffering ---I NEED the HOLY SPIRIT to SHOW ME with discernment what’s true and what’s misinformation or fleshly… ---LORD help me not to MISINTERPRET even seasons of rejection, tiredness, loneliness, sadness, etc—REJECTION is REDIRECTION... Chapter 41: Joseph’s Rise to Power • Pharaoh’s Dreams: Pharaoh has two troubling dreams about seven fat cows eaten by seven thin cows and seven healthy ears of grain consumed by seven thin ones. The cupbearer finally remembers Joseph. • The Interpretation: Joseph interprets the dreams as seven years of great abundance followed by seven years of severe famine. He advises Pharaoh to store food during the years of plenty. • Promotion: Impressed by Joseph’s wisdom, Pharaoh appoints him ruler over all Egypt, second only to himself. Chapter 42: The First Journey of the Brothers-----Famine Strikes: Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain; he keeps Benjamin at home. The Meeting: Joseph recognizes his brothers, but they do not recognize him. He tests them by accusing them of being spies. Chapter 43: The Second Journey with Benjamin----Return to Egypt: As the famine continues, the brothers return to Egypt with Benjamin. Judah pledges his own life for Benjamin’s safety. Joseph is deeply moved upon seeing Benjamin. Chapter 44: The Final Test-- Joseph hides his silver cup in Benjamin's sack. When it is "found," he declares that Benjamin must stay as his slave. Judah delivers a moving speech, offering to take Benjamin’s place as a slave to spare their father the grief of losing another son. Chapter 45: Reconciliation----The Reveal: Overcome with emotion, Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers. He tells them not to be distressed, as it was God who sent him to Egypt to preserve life. Forgiveness is a PROCESS, NOT an EVENT. 📘 Connect with Us: Explore more about God and get plugged in at Victory by going to https://victory.com/online. Let us know how we can support your journey!
