It’s Closer Than You Think

Often when we face adversity, we want a timeline — an expiration date — for when we’ll be delivered from our trials and things will turn around. We struggle because the stress of uncertainty leads us to worry and worship at the same time, questioning when God will show up. But God purposefully and lovingly tailors His methods of deliverance to each of us as unique individuals. In this reassuring message, Pastor Don Johnson examines Peter’s imprisonment and impending death sentence in Acts 12. Peter’s response in prison shows us a higher way — he didn’t fret; instead, he slept between two guards, knowing he was to be killed the next day! God wants you to praise Him in the night season, trusting He’ll never leave you. Just because you’re going through darkness doesn’t mean He’s not with you. Like Peter, others are praying for you, and Jesus Himself intercedes on your behalf. Expect God’s power to manifest. Angels delivered Peter so miraculously that he didn’t realize it until he was outside the prison gates. In the same way, God wants to guide you through your troubled waters so skillfully that you won’t even notice you’re being delivered until you’re free.
