Well, sir, again today, and I just sort of have a feeling that you've been waiting for me with your Bibles today. Say people are reading their Bibles who never read their Bibles before. You are probably appreciating the Word of God as you have never appreciated His Word. And would to God that our statesmen, the leaders of our nations, had studied the word of God sooner. Mm -hmm. You know something? He'll keep his word. You can stake your life on anything that God promises. You and I should not. be so amazed, and yet we are. I'm frank to tell you, I stand amazed at that which is happening before my very eyes, and yet I have been preaching it for years. Sometimes I felt I was standing all alone when I was giving the word of prophecy. When I was telling you, What was going to happen to Israel? What was going to happen to Palestine? When I've stood warning you over and over again that the real war, the real vocal point would be Palestine. That one of these days, Russia and her allies would go down after a spoil. The war began in Vietnam. I stood one Sunday on the platform in the Stamba Auditorium and I said our real fighting, the real war, isn't in Vietnam. It's only a farce, really. Russia's eyes or on Israel. It was not because I was a prophetess. My goodness alive, I'm as stupid as they come. It is only that I am simple enough to believe the Word of God. And it's there. That's the reason today I do not have to do anything more in our heart -to -heart talk than to just read the Bible. And that's all I'm going to have to do. The Bible needs no defense. I do not have to defend the Word of God. Anything that I would add to the Word of God would just be a surplus that's unnecessary. And that's the reason all I'm going to give you today is just God's Word. The 38th chapter of Ezekiel. And the 38th chapter of Ezekiel right now is more up to date than anything that they are doing in Washington, D .C. is more up to date than anything that our newscasters can give you on television. That's right. All right? Let's begin the 38th chapter of Ezekiel. And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Nagog, the chief prince of Meshach and Tubal, and prophesy against him. Say that one verse is potent, believe me. And the question before us, is the identity of Gog referred to in this passage. Who is he? And where is the land of Rosh? Now, most all Hebrew scholars will agree that Rosh is identified with modern Russia. And since Ezekiel tells us in the 15th verse of this same chapter that Rosh is in the uttermost parts of the north, there can be little doubt of the correctness of the interpretation. Because when it comes to directions, north, east, south, in the word of God, it's always in relationship to Palestine. Because Palestine was the vocal point of everything. It would be, as I was sitting here now in the city of Pittsburgh, I would say, as I'm sitting here in Pittsburgh, to the north of me, to the south of me. because Pittsburgh is the vocal point. You understand that. And I don't think there's any question in the mind of any Bible scholar, any student of the word, but that rush here refers to Russia and Gog. will be the leader of Russia and her allies. And another thing. God says, behold, I am against thee. Now, please get something very straight. And that is the fact that he is talking about... A great leader. Just because someone is Russian doesn't mean that God is saying, I am against thee. He is not speaking of peoples. He's talking about a leader. And so that you will not misconstrue something that I might say. Remember again, there's some mighty, wonderful, godly people in Russia. There's some wonderful saints of God who are Russian, know that. Oh, beloved, in communistic Russia today, there are some real Christians, men and women who know how to pray. But when the word of God says, I am against the old Gog, He's referring to a personality. A great world leader. The chief prince of Meshach and Tubal. I continue reading. I will turn thee back. And God is going to be the only one. who put out the fires of communism. Mm -hmm. We can spend our billions and billions of dollars. We can sacrifice our boys, thousands upon thousands. We can use our psychology and our good neighbor plans. But we'll never put out the fires of communism. Never. Only God himself will do that. I will turn thee back and put hooks into thy jaws. Can you picture this? God putting hooks in the jaws of nations. I shall never forget the time in a department store when a woman turned on me. She was a perfect stranger. I didn't know who she was. She knew who I was and she said to me, If God is so wonderful and you believe in miracles, Why doesn't he do something about this war? Where is he now? I'll tell you, she was vicious. And I turned to her and I said, Honey, he's exactly where he was 2 ,000 years ago. He's exactly where he was when he gave his covenant. to Abraham and Abraham's seed. He's exactly where he was when Elijah stood and challenged the prophets of Baal. He's exactly where he was when he kept his word of prophecy and his son came and was born in Beth. and came in the flesh. He's still God Almighty. And the word of God says the hour is coming when literally he will put hooks into the jaws of the nation. And I always picture this point. The men on a chess table. The game of chess has always intrigued me. And I can see these men on the chess table. And the great master hand of God moves these men exactly where he wants them. Play by play. And you and I stand and we watch. The greatest game of chess that man has ever seen. Hooks in the jaws of nations. And I'll bring thee forth and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company. with the bucklers and the shields, all of them handling swords. Persia. And you will remember, in our last little heart -to -heart talk when we talked about Persia, oh, sure, when Ezekiel wrote these words, Persia was just about the very peak of the world of supremacy. But then Persia was conquered by Greece, and it looked... for a time as though Persia was going to be completely wiped out, just completely. And today, Persia is well known to the world's press and to all of us as Iran. And it's spoken of right here in the 38th chapter of Ezekiel. In other words, we could read it like this. And take the next one, Ethiopia. We have Africa. What was once Ethiopia now? Africa. Watch it now. We have Iran. We have Ethiopia or Africa. Libya with them. And all of them with shield and helmet. Gomar. That's East Germany. Because, remember, that East Germany never was in the Roman Empire. And East Germany goes along with Russia and her bands, Gomar and all his bands, the house of Togarmah, Turkey, of the north. What's the direction? The north quarters. What's north? Turkey, of course. All you have to do, this is as simple, a child can understand it, is stare. Why haven't we been reading it all of these years? Why haven't we been reading it all these years? And many people with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself thou and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. After many days, are you following me now? This is the eighth verse, the 38th chapter of Ezekiel. I know, really, one would think that I was reading from the front page of a newspaper. One would actually think that I was quoting from something that I heard on our last newscast. I'm reading from the Word of God. Literally, I am reading from God's Word. After many days thou shalt be visited. In the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword and is gathered out of many people. against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste. But it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely, all of them. Oh, you know, when I knew I was going to give you this heart -to -heart talk, I brought out again the newspaper. It's yellow now. It's where the crease is in the paper. I can't even read the words. But I saved it because it's a thrill to me. Of April the 13th, 1949, when the president of Israel gave the great proclamation, I treasure this. And I am quoting you now from this newspaper of 1949, when the president of Israel, and remember, Israel has been recognized since 1949 by all nations of the world as a nation. Let me just give you a quotation from this proclamation in 1949, and it appeared in your newspaper too. For many years, the Jews have played a prominent part, laying the foundations of the new life that is springing up in our ancient land, Israel. We have now obtained the status of national independence. We are now about to enter a new phase. But this is what I want to read to you. Every day, men and women are streaming in large numbers through the gates of our holy Zion. They come with hope in their eyes. They come to Israel not merely to find a resting place for their weary feet. They want to find that measure of human happiness, the chance of a free life, which is God's gift afforded to every man and woman on God's earth. Now, I lay my newspaper aside, and I turn to the word of God again, and I read, The land that is brought back from the sword and is gathered out of many people against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste, but is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely, all of them. But just when they feel this wonderful security, just when... They are being blessed. Acres and acres of beautiful orange groves. They're building their factories. They're building their homes. That ninth verse. And this, my friend, was in the mind of Russia. Thou shalt ascend. and come like a storm. Thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou and all thy bands and many people with thee. Thus saith the Lord God, it shall also come to pass that at the same time shall things come into thy mind. Thou shalt think an evil thought, and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to them that are at rest. What did I just read? Ah, the president of Israel said, every day men and women and children are streaming in large numbers through the gates of Zion. They come with hope in their eyes. They come to Israel not merely to find a resting place for their weary feet. They want to find that measure of human happiness that is afforded to every man and woman on God's earth. I'm reading now from the word of God. And thou shalt say, who? Gog, the prince of Magog. Mm -hmm. That's it. Thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls and having neither bars nor gates. Why? There has to be a purpose. Why? Why is Russia and her allies? going down after Israel. Why did Stalin have his eyes on this same part of the world? Khrushchev had his eyes on this same part of the world. God has the answer. To take a spoil. That's the... 12th verse of the 38th chapter of Ezekiel. To take a spoil and to take a prey. The rich oil fields. The wealth. The great potential wealth in the Dead Sea. To turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations which have gotten cattle and goods and that dwell in the midst of the land. This was all prophesied 1 ,400 years before the birth of Christ in Bethlehem and is taking place. and fulfilled today. God bless you.
