God is Restoring the Church Part 2 Kathryn Kuhlman Jesus Revolution

The letter that I'm about to read has great bearing on what I'm going to say in my heart -to -heart talk today. I do not want to betray confidence in reading this letter because the parents of the young man are very well known, not only in Nebraska, but in parts of Arizona. is their only son, a young man who's had problems in his life like a great many of our teenagers today. When the young son, who is now living in Lincoln, Nebraska, found out that I was going to be a guest in the home of his parents while I was in... Phoenix for a couple of days, became so curious that he made the trip from Lincoln to see his parents. More or less, I think, just to see what I looked like. Kind of out of curiosity, you know. And here he came with the modern look. of teenagers. I was going to say with the same kind of haircut, but maybe I should say with no haircut or something like that, you know. And just as modern as they come. And I'm quite sure that the only reason he came was just out of curiosity. But during that time in his home and in the Phoenix services, This son received a marvelous spiritual experience. What we call a new birth experience. I had some wonderful conversations with him. And so I've just received a letter which I'm going to share with you. For he went back to Lincoln, Nebraska. Literally. A new creature in Christ Jesus. Dear Miss Kuhlman, I was so happy to receive your letter last week, and whether you know it or not, one thing you said in it opened up a whole new concept to me. And it is one that has reassured my fate even more. Not that my fate was lacking before, or at least it hasn't been lacking since that glorious evening in Phoenix. You mentioned in the letter that since I have given my life to God, that now I am personal to him. This very thought has provided me with more security than I had ever dreamed possible. Truly the spirit dwells with me now. Mom sometimes worries that I may backslide, but to the contrary, my... Faith grows and strengthens with each passing day. I'm being ever careful not to bruise the fruit. But yet, I've been quite busy telling my friends and others about my wonderful experience. People are noticing that the spirit is within me just from being around me. They want to know what the difference is. Just what it is that I found. And then away I go. I praise God that people in Lincoln are curious like this and are hungry. I spoke to about 150 people Thursday evening at a combined prayer group or meeting of all Protestant churches in Lincoln. And I really, well, rather God did hold them and they listened. From this came several requests for other speaking engagements, both before groups and in private homes. Also, after this particular meeting, God used me to cement the fate of a semi -believer, a woman of 50, condemned to a wheelchair by multiple sclerosis for 30 years. I talked to her and her family until 2 .30 a .m. They just wouldn't let me leave. And I was really in a beautiful place when I finally did leave. I wish I had 24 hours a day to do things like this. Lincoln, Nebraska is hungry, as is everywhere. God has also directed me to a fellow employee who has a minor drug problem. He and his wife invited me over one evening, Four hours about God and the new birth experience. He is now winning the cross and the switchblade. Thank you over and over for directing God's touch upon me. I would have never known life could be so glorious. I pray nightly that God continues to use you with the strength to continue this noble, very noble task of yours. I love you most sincerely, Bob Jr. I would like to pray in that letter. But then on second thought, there are literally hundreds of letters like this coming in. And the amazing thing is that I do not consider myself an authority when it comes to teenagers. But these teenagers are coming to this ministry. because they are finding what they have been seeking. Young people today are not looking for theories. Let's face facts. We've been ferried to death. Our young people today have been ferried to death. They want facts. They want reality. Truth. And they find it when truth is presented to them. And they see it in the word of God. The other day, a newspaper printed my direct statement when I said that the great spiritual awakening is coming to America is not... going to come through the churches, but is going to come through the youth. Now, I'm going to continue my little heart -to -heart talk from here on out, that little book of Joel in the Old Testament that gives a whole picture of the end time of this present age, of this, the times of the Gentiles. We're living in this time now. This is as up -to -date as tomorrow morning's newspaper. More up -to -date. I shall read again the best scripture that I gave, and here it is. Joel, the first chapter. Hear this, ye old men. Give ear. Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. That which the palmer worm hath left, hath the locust eaten. That which the locust hath left, hath the canker worm eaten. Here's an entire picture of church history. And that which the canker worm hath left, hath the caterpillar eaten. Whether you're Catholic or Protestant or whatever you are, you will agree with me. This is the picture, the entire picture of church history. It's given again in the book of the Revelation. Read it. But don't stop there. Remember the little book of Joel? Every part of it is the entire picture of this generation in which we live. And I will restore to you. There's no question about that word, restore. There's no opening for argument. I will, God says, restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker worm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer worm, my great army which I send among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you, and my people shall never be ashamed. Don't stop there. Continue with that 28th verse. And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh. That's exactly what's happening now. He is pouring out of his spirit upon all flesh if you don't believe it. Look up. Look round about you. We see the Holy Spirit speaking to men and women to whom spiritual things never interested them before. Around the world, everywhere. Attend one of the great services in the shrine. Attend one of the great services in the First Presbyterian Church here in Pittsburgh. They're there. Talk to any man, rich or poor, influential or otherwise, you'll find that he'll pause and talk religion to you if you bring him the truth. I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh. And flesh, in the word of God, always pertains to the unsaid. Don't stop there. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams. Your young men shall see visions. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. That was the reason I give this statement to the press without fear of contradiction. That this great revival is coming through the young people. This great spiritual awakening that is taking place among the young people. They're sick and tired. They tried these things. I'm talking about the majority of young people. They have tried these things. They have not satisfied them. They are now looking... for truth. And you're going to find the greatest spiritual revival that America has ever known. And I believe that it's going to begin in America and is going to sweep the world. There are ministers who are standing and wouldn't touch this present awakening that's coming. among the youth on the ten -foot pole. They're scared to death of it. They won't touch it. They'll say, we'll watch and see. There are mothers and dads who do not understand it when their teenager comes home and says, oh, I had the most wonderful spiritual experience. My whole life has changed. Oh, it's wonderful. I have found what I've been seeking. I've been born again. The dad turns to the mother and says, well, he's off on another trip. And the mother says of her daughter, I don't understand her. Of course you don't understand them because you have never had this experience. You have never been born again. The minister in the pulpit who has denied the deity and divinity of Jesus Christ. He's denied the truth of the word. He's been preaching everything else but the gospel. Doesn't understand it. There's a reason he won't touch it with a ten -foot pole. And it's just like that. I'm talking about things that are happening this very hour. And these kids that are being born again, I'm talking about a spiritual experience. And these kids are getting it. A new birth experience. And you have never seen greater enthusiasm. You have never seen greater sacrifices. You've never found greater followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. They've gone all out for the Son of the Living God. as no other generation that I've known anything about. Now watch something. Let me make something very clear. When we speak of Jesus, it's one thing to speak of Jesus as a person. He is more than just a superstar. These young people who are accepting Jesus as just a super... superstar as an ideal or not receiving experience of the young people who are accepting Jesus Christ as the very son of the living God. You're not born again in just accepting Jesus as a great example. No man, no woman, whether you be in the pulpit or whether you be father or mother. It's when you accept Jesus Christ as absolute divinity and absolute deity. And you're born again like young Bob Jr. in Lincoln, Nebraska. That's a new birth experience. That's what I'm talking about. I'll give proof to this great spiritual revival. that I am sure we're on the very threshold of. For remember in the New Testament, and always I like to verify the old with the new and the new with the old. You've learned a long time ago, if you've been following this ministry, that I always like to give proof of everything that I say. All right? On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came. Oh, that glorious experience. Jesus said he would come. That gift, the greatest gift that Jesus could possibly have given to the church. And he gave to his church this wonderful gift before he went away. And ye shall receive power. After that, the Holy Ghost has come upon you. The same power that was manifested in his ministry and his life. And the Holy Spirit did come on the day of Pentecost. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled all the house where they were sitting. Now, watch the result of that wonderful experience that the 120 received in that upper room. Always when one is filled with the Holy Spirit, you'll see the result of that filling. Always when the Holy Spirit is present, you'll see the supernatural manifestation of His presence. That's why in our services, People began weeping even before the service begins because they feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. And out of that wonderful experience, you'll see Peter for instance. I take him as an example. Just a short while before, so weak, so timid, that Jesus, looking into his face with pity, said, Pray that thy faith faileth not. All those words of pity. And yet the love in the heart of the master because he knew how weak in the flesh Peter was. But after that glorious experience, I want you to see the new Peter. Oh, it was something, believe me. And Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you and hearken to my words. For these are not drunken. as ye suppose seeing it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet joel watch the holy spirit speaking these were not the words of an ordinary man this was not the mind of an ordinary man It was the Holy Spirit speaking through the lips of Peter. The Holy Spirit using the body of Peter. And as he began to speak, he quoted from the little book of Joel in the Old Testament. The same word that I gave you a few minutes ago from the second chapter of Joel. He repeats it. And it shall come to pass in the last days. And he makes it very definite. In the last days. And you and I are living in the last days of the times of the Gentiles. Any Bible student, any great theologian will have to agree these are the last days. Even if you have no religion, you'll have to agree something is about to happen. And in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my spirit. upon all flesh. That's exactly what's happening now. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. And all my servants and all my handmaidens, I will pour out in those days of my spirit. And they shall prophesy. This is truth. Our young people are fed up on theory. They want facts. They want reality. They want truth. And they are finding it in the Lord Jesus Christ.
