I believe God has amazing things in your future. 0:01:38.040 --> 0:01:48.880 I hope you enjoy this message. I want to encourage 0:01:48.920 --> 0:01:53.440 you today that God has great purpose for your life. 0:01:54.160 --> 0:01:58.360 You a whole meaning, you whole potential. You hold everything 0:01:58.480 --> 0:02:02.240 you need to make this earth a better place. And 0:02:02.280 --> 0:02:06.040 I want to charge us today to just reevaluate our 0:02:06.080 --> 0:02:10.720 life and realize we are here for God's purpose and 0:02:10.800 --> 0:02:14.040 God's glory. You know, sometimes It's easy to feel like 0:02:14.080 --> 0:02:16.840 we're here to just go to our job, go to school, 0:02:17.240 --> 0:02:20.640 have our friends, raise our family. But can I tell 0:02:20.680 --> 0:02:25.399 you today, God has marked you to have an influence 0:02:25.560 --> 0:02:29.520 on this earth. See you, you just being here, you 0:02:29.720 --> 0:02:33.280 being the best you can be, using your gifts, using 0:02:33.320 --> 0:02:37.720 your talents, and honoring God. You're making an eternal difference. 0:02:38.680 --> 0:02:43.360 You are causing this earth to be enriched, and you 0:02:43.440 --> 0:02:47.800 are moving the Kingdom of God forward. You see, sometimes 0:02:48.120 --> 0:02:52.200 we don't appreciate what God has given us. We don't 0:02:52.360 --> 0:02:55.800 understand this gift and the purpose that we're here for. 0:02:56.560 --> 0:03:00.560 And I believe when we shake ourselves and we say listen, listen, 0:03:00.639 --> 0:03:03.280 I'm not here by accident. I'm not here because my 0:03:03.360 --> 0:03:06.000 parents wanted a baby. I'm not here just to take 0:03:06.080 --> 0:03:09.360 up spaith and time on this earth. But I'm here 0:03:09.600 --> 0:03:15.320 for an eternal reason. My being here has meaning and 0:03:15.440 --> 0:03:19.320 my life matters. You see, when God looks at you, 0:03:19.919 --> 0:03:23.359 he looks at you like you matter, and he wants 0:03:23.400 --> 0:03:25.920 you to take what He's given you, and he wants 0:03:25.919 --> 0:03:28.239 you to mix it with faith, and he wants you 0:03:28.320 --> 0:03:32.639 to move forward on this earth. You see, a lot 0:03:32.680 --> 0:03:35.560 of times we can't see what God has given us. 0:03:35.640 --> 0:03:39.400 Let's just be really real. You know, sometimes we can't 0:03:39.440 --> 0:03:42.280 see the gifts and talents. We can look at other 0:03:42.320 --> 0:03:45.080 people and we can see how they excel. We can 0:03:45.120 --> 0:03:48.160 see how they've got such a great personality. Oh it 0:03:48.240 --> 0:03:50.880 seems so easy for them. They can just do this. 0:03:51.000 --> 0:03:54.480 They're so creative. Oh they're so smart. How can they 0:03:54.480 --> 0:03:57.240 figure all that out? We can see it in others, 0:03:57.280 --> 0:04:02.000 but we can't always see it in ourselves. And see 0:04:02.080 --> 0:04:04.880 when we can't see it in ourselves doesn't mean it's 0:04:04.880 --> 0:04:08.720 not there. See, God sees it in us, because God 0:04:08.760 --> 0:04:12.040 put it there. The Bible says when Jesus went to Earth, 0:04:12.280 --> 0:04:15.640 he led the captives free, and he gave gifts to men. 0:04:16.440 --> 0:04:19.720 Do you know He's given you gifts. We don't all 0:04:19.760 --> 0:04:22.159 have the same gifts. We've got to be comfortable with 0:04:22.200 --> 0:04:25.200 our gifts. We got to be able to recognize our gifts. 0:04:25.320 --> 0:04:27.719 We've got to walk in those gifts and not compare 0:04:27.800 --> 0:04:30.440 those gifts. We got to know that our gifts are 0:04:30.480 --> 0:04:34.800 here for a purpose, and we've got to appreciate what 0:04:34.920 --> 0:04:38.200 God has given us. I think about Moses. He was 0:04:38.279 --> 0:04:42.120 raised as an Egyptian. He ended up fleeing to the wilderness, 0:04:42.200 --> 0:04:45.440 and he was there for forty years. God appeared to 0:04:45.520 --> 0:04:48.600 him in a burning bush one day and says, Moses, 0:04:48.640 --> 0:04:52.520 I have an assignment for you. Now. God knew exactly 0:04:52.600 --> 0:04:56.279 who he was talking to. He knew everything about Moses. 0:04:56.320 --> 0:04:59.600 He created Moses. He saw Moses floating down the river. 0:05:00.040 --> 0:05:02.280 He saw Moses when he lived in the palace. He 0:05:02.320 --> 0:05:05.440 saw Moses when he was afraid and ran to the desert. 0:05:05.600 --> 0:05:08.719 He knew exactly who Moses was. He knew he was 0:05:08.760 --> 0:05:12.360 dealing with. He said, Moses, I want you to lead 0:05:12.400 --> 0:05:16.440 my people out of Egypt into the Promised Land because 0:05:16.480 --> 0:05:18.479 I'm doing a work and I'm going to use you 0:05:18.520 --> 0:05:21.360 to do it. See it's so interesting. I can only 0:05:21.360 --> 0:05:25.040 imagine Moses standing there like, really, God, it says an 0:05:25.040 --> 0:05:28.640 exodent's for He literally pleaded with God. He said, no, God, 0:05:29.240 --> 0:05:32.560 not me. You got the wrong man. God, I stutter, 0:05:33.160 --> 0:05:36.520 I can't speak well, I can't carry this assignment out. 0:05:37.279 --> 0:05:39.560 I'm sure he was thinking about his past. I'm sure 0:05:39.600 --> 0:05:42.000 he was thinking about how I've been in the desert. Lord, 0:05:42.080 --> 0:05:45.000 you don't know. I mean, you got the wrong man. 0:05:46.080 --> 0:05:48.680 But God was saying, no, I've been shaping you from 0:05:48.720 --> 0:05:53.040 the beginning every experience you have, every gift God placed 0:05:53.080 --> 0:05:55.680 in you, has brought you for such a time as this, 0:05:56.160 --> 0:06:00.560 for this assignment. And you know, God used Moses in 0:06:00.600 --> 0:06:05.320 a powerful way, even though Moses couldn't see what God 0:06:05.360 --> 0:06:08.719 had placed in his life. I find it very interesting. 0:06:08.760 --> 0:06:12.599 In Acts seven, twenty two, hundreds of years later, after 0:06:12.960 --> 0:06:15.760 Moses was dead, this is what the writer of Acts 0:06:15.760 --> 0:06:19.160 wrote about Moses. Says, Moses was well educated in all 0:06:19.240 --> 0:06:24.320 the wisdom of the Egyptian and he was powerful in 0:06:24.520 --> 0:06:30.800 speech and action. Moses was powerful in speech and action. 0:06:31.279 --> 0:06:33.880 That was a far cry from what he thought about himself. 0:06:34.200 --> 0:06:37.960 It was a far crid from what he was telling God. See. 0:06:37.960 --> 0:06:41.680 Isn't it interesting what he couldn't see in himself God 0:06:41.720 --> 0:06:44.560 had others see. So you may not be able to 0:06:44.640 --> 0:06:48.839 see your gifts, your talents, your abilities, But can I 0:06:48.960 --> 0:06:51.520 tell you, if you will use them for God, let 0:06:51.560 --> 0:06:55.560 God take those and turn them into supernatural abilities. People 0:06:55.800 --> 0:06:59.800 will see what you have and you will accomplish great 0:06:59.839 --> 0:07:03.560 things in your life. But it's up to us to 0:07:03.880 --> 0:07:07.720 mix our abilities, our gifts that God's given us with 0:07:07.839 --> 0:07:10.720 faith and get up every day and put one foot 0:07:10.800 --> 0:07:13.000 in front of the other. Because I can tell you 0:07:13.040 --> 0:07:15.480 when God asks you to do something, Can I just 0:07:15.720 --> 0:07:17.760 give you a little hint right now that you probably 0:07:17.800 --> 0:07:21.360 already know is not gonna be easy. God's gonna call 0:07:21.400 --> 0:07:25.560 you to some hard stuff. Why God, I like easy, 0:07:26.120 --> 0:07:29.040 I like comfortable. God, I like to do those things 0:07:29.080 --> 0:07:32.040 that are easy for me to do. God's saying, I 0:07:32.120 --> 0:07:34.080 want you to take those things that are easy for 0:07:34.120 --> 0:07:36.320 you to do and those things that are difficult for 0:07:36.360 --> 0:07:37.760 you to do, and I want you to give them 0:07:37.760 --> 0:07:41.880 to me, because see those difficult places, that's where you grow. 0:07:42.840 --> 0:07:45.840 When God speaks to those difficult places, you know what 0:07:45.880 --> 0:07:49.880 he's doing. He's not being me. He's speaking to your potential. 0:07:50.680 --> 0:07:53.720 He's saying, if you stay here, you're not gonna become 0:07:54.280 --> 0:07:58.679 everything you were designed to be. He's not gonna call 0:07:58.720 --> 0:08:01.800 you to the easy places. He's gonna call you to 0:08:01.920 --> 0:08:06.200 some tough things. Just like Moses. You're gonna look back 0:08:06.560 --> 0:08:09.400 and you're gonna go. God, you did more than I 0:08:09.400 --> 0:08:12.600 could ask, think or imagine. God, You've fulfilled my life. 0:08:12.840 --> 0:08:16.280 You've enriched my life. But see, all along the way, 0:08:16.360 --> 0:08:19.080 we're gonna have to stir up the gifts of God 0:08:19.120 --> 0:08:21.800 within us. We're gonna have to use our faith. We're 0:08:21.840 --> 0:08:25.760 gonna have to believe in our abilities. The apostle Paul 0:08:25.840 --> 0:08:28.880 wrote to a young man named Timothy. He wrote a 0:08:28.960 --> 0:08:31.920 letter to him for two reasons, One because he loved him, 0:08:32.320 --> 0:08:36.040 and two because he saw that Timothy was extremely discouraged. 0:08:36.480 --> 0:08:39.240 He was facing some situations and he did not feel 0:08:39.280 --> 0:08:42.480 like he had the ability to carry out what God 0:08:42.520 --> 0:08:45.680 had called him to do. In fact, his mentor, Paul 0:08:45.800 --> 0:08:48.640 was in prison, the mastermind of everything, and he thought, 0:08:48.679 --> 0:08:51.400 oh my gosh, am I ever gonna see Paul again? 0:08:52.000 --> 0:08:54.960 I mean, I need Paul. Have you ever needed someone? 0:08:55.200 --> 0:08:57.000 Can you come with me? I'll do it if you 0:08:57.040 --> 0:09:00.480 could come with me. That's probably how he felt, Paul, 0:09:00.559 --> 0:09:04.120 where are you? I cannot do this by myself. I'm young, 0:09:05.679 --> 0:09:08.680 you see. But Paul wanted him to know this that 0:09:08.760 --> 0:09:13.199 he could. So Paul said, there's a combination, a winning combination. 0:09:13.320 --> 0:09:14.720 I want to tell you about it. So we wrote 0:09:14.760 --> 0:09:19.000 him a letter, and he said, Timothy, I'm writing you 0:09:19.120 --> 0:09:23.800 this letter to remind you to stir up the gifts 0:09:23.840 --> 0:09:28.079 of God within you by faith. But since it's Mother's Day, 0:09:28.120 --> 0:09:30.400 can I back up in that letter and just tell 0:09:30.440 --> 0:09:32.000 you one thing that Paul said to all of you 0:09:32.080 --> 0:09:34.800 mothers out there, I don't want you to take this 0:09:34.960 --> 0:09:37.720 mother to heart, because I really believe this is what 0:09:37.760 --> 0:09:41.160 God's saying to you today. He's saying, he wrote this. 0:09:41.240 --> 0:09:46.439 He said, Timothy, I see the faith of your grandmother 0:09:47.320 --> 0:09:50.880 and of your mother, and the faith that they had 0:09:51.080 --> 0:09:56.480 I am sure lives in you. What a compliment I 0:09:56.480 --> 0:09:59.319 mean for a mother, that's a very good compliment. If 0:09:59.320 --> 0:10:02.240 you see that I was a good example to my children. 0:10:02.960 --> 0:10:07.240 He was saying, I see that you came from a 0:10:07.280 --> 0:10:11.560 good example. You've learned how to lift. But then he 0:10:11.679 --> 0:10:16.280 said this, Paul, I believe this faith lives in you, 0:10:17.120 --> 0:10:20.600 So it's time for you to use your faith and 0:10:20.640 --> 0:10:24.120 stir up your gifts. I think in essence, he was 0:10:24.160 --> 0:10:27.000 really giving those mothers the greatest compliment in the world. 0:10:27.320 --> 0:10:30.960 He was charging their son to say, don't live off 0:10:31.000 --> 0:10:34.440 your mama's faith. God's great that you have an example, 0:10:34.480 --> 0:10:38.120 but it's time to find your faith, and it's time 0:10:38.200 --> 0:10:41.199 to mix it with your ability, because you've got a 0:10:41.320 --> 0:10:45.360 job to do. You see, the breath of encouragement is 0:10:45.360 --> 0:10:48.720 the greatest gift you can give someone's child, to say, 0:10:48.840 --> 0:10:52.319 find your faith. You see, my dream would be that 0:10:52.360 --> 0:10:55.360 my children would find their own faith. Yes, I've been 0:10:55.400 --> 0:10:58.640 a good example, but they would find their faith, and 0:10:58.679 --> 0:11:01.080 they would mix that faith with the ability and the 0:11:01.120 --> 0:11:03.800 gifts that God's given them, and they would charge into 0:11:03.880 --> 0:11:08.200 this world having a positive effect, an eternal result on 0:11:08.240 --> 0:11:11.280 this earth. See, they're not here by accident, and neither 0:11:11.360 --> 0:11:14.360 are you. They're here for a purpose. You're going to 0:11:14.440 --> 0:11:18.440 go through many different seasons of life. Don't just do 0:11:18.559 --> 0:11:21.600 it thinking you're getting through it. Do it with purpose 0:11:21.679 --> 0:11:25.559 and destiny. Stir up the gifts. You are making waves 0:11:25.679 --> 0:11:30.760 everywhere you go for God. You have an assignment. God 0:11:30.920 --> 0:11:37.600 needs you. Your life matters. Invite Jesus into every area 0:11:37.600 --> 0:11:41.160 of your life, inviting into your boat, so to speak. 0:11:42.040 --> 0:11:45.200 You see, the first time that Jesus met Simon Peter 0:11:45.320 --> 0:11:47.960 before he changed his name, he had never met him before. 0:11:48.080 --> 0:11:52.160 Simon Peter didn't know Jesus. Jesus came walking up because 0:11:52.200 --> 0:11:55.400 the crowds were following him and Jesus needed to push 0:11:55.440 --> 0:11:58.040 back a little bit from the crowds. He saw Simon 0:11:58.160 --> 0:12:00.880 Peter and his crew over their washing nets because they've 0:12:00.880 --> 0:12:03.360 been fishing. Their boats were on the edge of the water, 0:12:03.480 --> 0:12:05.480 and Jesus said I need to get in your boat, 0:12:05.559 --> 0:12:08.280 Simon Peter. He said, you need to push me out 0:12:08.280 --> 0:12:12.440 a little ways. And Simon Peter let him in his boat, 0:12:12.440 --> 0:12:15.360 and he pushed him out, and Jesus said, I need 0:12:15.400 --> 0:12:17.840 to get in that boat because see what I need 0:12:17.840 --> 0:12:20.680 to do is continue the work that I am doing. 0:12:20.960 --> 0:12:23.040 He was preaching to the people, but he needed a 0:12:23.080 --> 0:12:25.400 little bit of break, so he needed to get in 0:12:25.480 --> 0:12:29.600 Simon's Peter's boat so he could finish the work. Now, 0:12:30.520 --> 0:12:34.120 Simon Peter's boat, you know what it represented. It represented 0:12:34.120 --> 0:12:38.280 his office, it was his vocation, it was his livelihood. 0:12:38.800 --> 0:12:40.320 He could have said to wait a minute, minute, that's 0:12:40.400 --> 0:12:42.600 my boat. Can't get in the boat. That's only for fishing. 0:12:43.320 --> 0:12:48.079 You know, it's real interesting. The day that Simon Peter 0:12:48.240 --> 0:12:51.800 let him in his boat, that job that he had, 0:12:51.880 --> 0:12:55.440 that fishing job, it became more than a job. It 0:12:55.520 --> 0:12:58.760 became a calling. When he allowed him in his boat 0:12:58.840 --> 0:13:02.840 so that Jesus could do the work, that job wasn't 0:13:02.920 --> 0:13:07.120 just a job. It became a calling for Peter's life. 0:13:07.559 --> 0:13:10.760 It became a destiny and a passion. He realized, no 0:13:10.800 --> 0:13:13.440 matter if I'm fishing or if I'm all right, if 0:13:13.480 --> 0:13:16.120 I'm with Jesus. I'm gonna do the work of God. 0:13:16.640 --> 0:13:19.080 You see, he was a fisherman, but that call him 0:13:19.160 --> 0:13:24.440 changed him into a fisher of men. God wants in 0:13:24.600 --> 0:13:30.440 your boat, he wants in your school, he wants in 0:13:30.520 --> 0:13:33.800 the middle of changing diapers, he wants in the middle 0:13:33.840 --> 0:13:36.960 of your family. He wants to keep doing the work. 0:13:37.120 --> 0:13:39.520 But guess what He's got to get in your boat 0:13:39.559 --> 0:13:43.120 to finish it up. You know what. I love my mother. 0:13:43.200 --> 0:13:45.400 She's here today. Happy Mother's Day. I love my doodie, 0:13:45.480 --> 0:13:52.120 she's here today, Happy Mother's Day. I've watched my mother. 0:13:52.960 --> 0:13:56.240 She's had a business in Houston for the last forty years, 0:13:56.640 --> 0:13:59.439 and I've watched her take that business, that jewelry business, 0:13:59.760 --> 0:14:03.679 and turn it in to a pulpit. No, she wasn't 0:14:03.720 --> 0:14:07.120 called to a ministry behind a pulpit. But you know 0:14:07.200 --> 0:14:10.079 what she's done. She's letting Jesus come in her boat. 0:14:10.480 --> 0:14:12.640 She's always been the type of person who wanted to 0:14:12.679 --> 0:14:16.400 help people, who love people, who would always be an encourager. 0:14:17.120 --> 0:14:21.920 And I'll watch her from that business encourage people, invite 0:14:21.960 --> 0:14:26.000 them to church, fuel their faith. See, she let Jesus 0:14:26.000 --> 0:14:28.240 in her boat. And I was thinking about this the 0:14:28.320 --> 0:14:31.120 other day. She's been in business a long time in 0:14:31.160 --> 0:14:33.840 the city, and she's seen the economy go up, she's 0:14:33.840 --> 0:14:36.760 seen the economy go down, and God's been good to her. 0:14:37.080 --> 0:14:40.960 He sustained her business. He sustained it. And I believe 0:14:41.000 --> 0:14:43.640 it's because he said, I still need your boat. I 0:14:43.720 --> 0:14:45.920 still need your boat, and I know that you'll give 0:14:45.960 --> 0:14:50.240 me your boat. Soam will keep you afloat. Can I 0:14:50.280 --> 0:14:53.240 tell you when you let Jesus in your boat, he'll 0:14:53.320 --> 0:14:59.560 keep you afloat. He'll keep you afloat. What an example 0:14:59.600 --> 0:15:03.000 to have a mother who loves people, who wants to 0:15:03.080 --> 0:15:08.360 encourage people to bring Jesus into her boat. I feel 0:15:08.360 --> 0:15:12.880 a little like Timothy. I'm blessed that way. But you 0:15:12.920 --> 0:15:17.840 know what, the greatest compliment to my mother and every 0:15:17.920 --> 0:15:22.560 mother in here could be that me, her daughter, would 0:15:22.600 --> 0:15:26.160 find my own faith, would learn from the example, but 0:15:26.280 --> 0:15:30.160 find my own faith, mix it with the gifts God's 0:15:30.200 --> 0:15:34.680 given me, and launch out in my boat so I 0:15:34.680 --> 0:15:38.760 can let Jesus get in with me today.
