He is one of the Uh, 0:00:42.680 --> 0:00:45.199 let me think, I want to say this now, one 0:00:45.280 --> 0:00:47.239 of the one of the Sometimes you get people who 0:00:47.280 --> 0:00:49.320 are good preachers and sometimes you get people who are 0:00:49.400 --> 0:00:52.240 nice people, and sometimes you get both in one package. 0:00:52.600 --> 0:00:54.360 He is both, and I thank God for he and 0:00:54.400 --> 0:00:58.160 his wife Taylor. God is using them all around the world. Uh. 0:00:58.600 --> 0:01:02.760 Pretty much any given day that you wake up, you 0:01:02.800 --> 0:01:06.080 can guarantee that somewhere he's blessing somebody in a different 0:01:06.120 --> 0:01:09.040 time zone than you. God has taken him all over 0:01:09.080 --> 0:01:13.680 the world. But he is a good person too. Don't 0:01:13.720 --> 0:01:18.360 you like good people? Yeah, it's good. And he's very 0:01:18.360 --> 0:01:20.640 committed to this thing that we do to preach the 0:01:20.640 --> 0:01:24.720 Gospel of Jesus Christ. What I told him was that 0:01:24.760 --> 0:01:33.920 at eleven thirty the real Christians, the people with extra 0:01:34.200 --> 0:01:37.120 Bible depth and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God, 0:01:37.200 --> 0:01:39.200 come to church. And I said, if you want to 0:01:39.240 --> 0:01:41.839 just save all the good stuff for eleven thirty, they'll 0:01:41.880 --> 0:01:44.640 be ready for you at eleven thirty. So can we 0:01:44.640 --> 0:01:47.880 make some noise at all of our locations, elevation, let's 0:01:47.880 --> 0:02:03.600 welcome to this stage, Pastor Robert made. Wow, Come on, elevation. 0:02:03.760 --> 0:02:08.240 Can we make some noise for Jesus today? Oh, come on, 0:02:08.320 --> 0:02:11.639 this is the day that the Lord has made. Come 0:02:11.680 --> 0:02:15.080 on across every location. Let us rejoice and be glad 0:02:15.120 --> 0:02:23.040 in it, and he glad. People in the house, whoa hallelujah? Hey, 0:02:23.040 --> 0:02:25.359 will you do me a favor before you take your seat, 0:02:25.680 --> 0:02:27.200 would you just look at your neighbor. You're tired of 0:02:27.200 --> 0:02:29.640 talking to your neighbor yet? Come on, do you like 0:02:29.680 --> 0:02:32.200 the person you're standing next to? Come on, get in 0:02:32.240 --> 0:02:35.200 their face, getting their personal space. Across every campus, and 0:02:35.280 --> 0:02:39.920 just say, neighbor, I've got a feeling that this is 0:02:39.919 --> 0:02:44.320 gonna be a good service. Just in case that neighbor 0:02:44.440 --> 0:02:47.840 was stuck up, find another neighbor, Find another neighbor. Come on, 0:02:47.960 --> 0:02:52.760 say other neighbor. You're my second option, but I want 0:02:52.800 --> 0:02:57.360 you to know I've got a feeling this is gonna 0:02:57.360 --> 0:03:00.000 be a good service. Come on, if you believe that, 0:03:00.040 --> 0:03:07.080 I think, give God one more standing ovation of praise. Hallelujah. 0:03:07.919 --> 0:03:09.960 You may be seated in the presence of the Lord. 0:03:10.680 --> 0:03:13.919 Don't get comfortable. You might be back up again. Come on, 0:03:14.720 --> 0:03:16.919 come on, I'll I'll say what I always say. I'm 0:03:16.919 --> 0:03:19.799 not just excited to be at Elevation Church. I am 0:03:20.080 --> 0:03:24.480 red bull excited, expresso elated. I've been waiting. I've been 0:03:24.520 --> 0:03:27.000 waiting to get my chocolate faced back in the place. 0:03:28.800 --> 0:03:34.080 I absolutely hear me, positively, love love, love this church. 0:03:34.120 --> 0:03:39.160 I'm from the great country of Texas. But the Elevation 0:03:39.320 --> 0:03:41.920 Church will mess you up. Elevation will have you looking 0:03:42.000 --> 0:03:44.240 on Zillo and trying to find a house in Charlotte. 0:03:44.880 --> 0:03:47.720 Come on, how many know you are ridiculously blessed to 0:03:47.760 --> 0:03:52.720 be a part of this church. This is absolutely amazing 0:03:52.760 --> 0:03:56.440 and not only that you're crazy blessed to have Pastor 0:03:56.560 --> 0:04:01.560 Stephen Ferdick and Holly Ferdick as your pastor as your leaders. Oh, 0:04:01.560 --> 0:04:07.120 come on, y'all can do better than that. I come 0:04:07.160 --> 0:04:09.520 on across every campus. I want you to make some 0:04:09.640 --> 0:04:18.360 noise if you know. God loves you too much. And 0:04:19.360 --> 0:04:21.560 I know preachers always say stuff, and this is not 0:04:21.600 --> 0:04:23.880 a platitude for me. There's so many things I could say. 0:04:24.760 --> 0:04:27.000 He's one of the greatest communicators of the Gospel on 0:04:27.040 --> 0:04:31.279 the planet and incredible leader, writes songs that reverberate around 0:04:31.320 --> 0:04:33.000 the nation. But I think I think I love the 0:04:33.040 --> 0:04:35.400 most about Pastor Stephen and Holly is that they're amazing 0:04:35.560 --> 0:04:38.240 up close. You know what I mean by that. Some 0:04:38.279 --> 0:04:41.200 people you love from a distance, but man, I'm telling you, 0:04:41.240 --> 0:04:43.000 when you get up close, it's amazing to see their 0:04:43.000 --> 0:04:45.279 hearts for people. And he can have any body on 0:04:45.360 --> 0:04:48.240 planet Earth in this poolpit. So I'm extremely honored, and 0:04:48.240 --> 0:04:51.360 it ought to be Pastor Appreciation Minute at elevation because 0:04:51.400 --> 0:04:53.240 y'all are crazy blessed. Come on one more time, would 0:04:53.240 --> 0:04:55.320 you let them know how much you love them, how 0:04:55.400 --> 0:04:58.840 much you appreciate them. Thank God for y'all. I am 0:04:58.880 --> 0:05:01.640 here with my super dupe. My fine wife, Taylor Madou 0:05:01.760 --> 0:05:03.880 is in the building. I preach better when she's here, 0:05:03.920 --> 0:05:07.920 so it's gonna be good. And uh, this is almost 0:05:07.960 --> 0:05:10.840 like a honeymoon for us because our three kids are 0:05:10.920 --> 0:05:16.480 at home. Hallelujah. They are with the grandparents. And uh, 0:05:16.680 --> 0:05:18.559 I know how some preachers they always put up pictures 0:05:18.560 --> 0:05:20.240 of their kids because they think they got the cutest 0:05:20.320 --> 0:05:22.280 kids and they wanted everybody to see how cute their 0:05:22.360 --> 0:05:24.440 kids are. I am not that preacher. It's about me 0:05:24.520 --> 0:05:26.680 preaching Jesus, not you seeing my kids. You ain't got 0:05:26.760 --> 0:05:28.560 to worry about me putting them on the screen. We good, 0:05:28.600 --> 0:05:31.719 we good. That's not true if y'all don't put my 0:05:31.800 --> 0:05:38.440 kids on earth screen up in here. Hey, come on, elevation, 0:05:38.560 --> 0:05:45.760 I made that. May that come on? That is my 0:05:45.880 --> 0:05:48.960 four year old daughter ev. That is my two year 0:05:48.960 --> 0:05:52.000 old son, Robert mdou, the third, my manchild and our 0:05:52.040 --> 0:05:56.080 newest and last edition. Hello Remington O Lane. She's just 0:05:56.120 --> 0:05:57.560 one years old. And I put up the picture all 0:05:57.600 --> 0:06:00.279 the time because fatherhood is the best hood. It's not 0:06:00.560 --> 0:06:02.840 like being a dad. But hey, I'm excited to share 0:06:02.880 --> 0:06:04.800 the word. I want to jump straight into it. Do 0:06:04.839 --> 0:06:07.080 you have a Bible with you? Come on, you got 0:06:07.120 --> 0:06:08.480 a Bible which you waving in the air like you 0:06:08.480 --> 0:06:11.839 just do care across every campus, every location. Also, some 0:06:11.880 --> 0:06:15.400 of your bibles are glowing. You're charged to your Bible today. 0:06:16.160 --> 0:06:18.480 I want to look at mark chapter five if we can. 0:06:18.560 --> 0:06:23.680 Mark Chapter five, Verses twenty one through forty three. Quite 0:06:23.720 --> 0:06:26.240 a bit of scripture, but I need all of it 0:06:26.279 --> 0:06:28.400 for you to get the context of where we're going. 0:06:28.520 --> 0:06:32.400 Mark chapter five, starting a verse number twenty one, and 0:06:32.440 --> 0:06:34.880 then we'll land in verse forty three. When you're ready 0:06:34.880 --> 0:06:38.240 to read it, say yeah. If you need some time 0:06:38.279 --> 0:06:43.160 to find us, say hold up, it's a desperate hold up. 0:06:43.160 --> 0:06:46.640 I'll wait for you. Verse twenty one. It says when 0:06:46.720 --> 0:06:49.960 Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other 0:06:50.000 --> 0:06:53.320 side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him 0:06:53.320 --> 0:06:55.440 while he was by the lake. Then one of the 0:06:55.480 --> 0:06:59.000 synagogue leaders named Gyris came, and when he saw Jesus, 0:06:59.440 --> 0:07:02.720 he fell at his feet. He pleaded earnestly with him, 0:07:03.440 --> 0:07:06.920 My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your 0:07:06.920 --> 0:07:09.120 hands on her so that she will be healed and live. 0:07:09.640 --> 0:07:12.440 So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and 0:07:12.480 --> 0:07:14.560 pressed around him, and a woman was there who had 0:07:14.560 --> 0:07:17.600 been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered 0:07:17.600 --> 0:07:20.240 a great deal under the care of many doctors and 0:07:20.280 --> 0:07:23.360 had spent all she had, Yet instead of getting better, 0:07:23.800 --> 0:07:28.520 she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came 0:07:28.600 --> 0:07:30.960 up behind him in the crowd and touched his clothes 0:07:31.000 --> 0:07:34.560 because she thought, if I just touch his clothes, I 0:07:34.600 --> 0:07:38.400 will be healed. Immediately, her bleeding stopped, and she felt 0:07:38.400 --> 0:07:40.880 in her body that she was free from her suffering. 0:07:41.400 --> 0:07:44.160 At once, Jesus realized that power had gone out from him, 0:07:44.360 --> 0:07:48.000 and he turned around in the crowd and asked, who 0:07:48.160 --> 0:07:51.960 touched my clothes? You see the people crowding against you. 0:07:52.040 --> 0:07:54.840 His disciples answered, and yet you can ask who touched me. 0:07:55.320 --> 0:07:57.960 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 0:07:58.400 --> 0:08:00.400 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came 0:08:00.440 --> 0:08:02.480 and fell at his feet, and, trembling with fear, told 0:08:02.520 --> 0:08:05.120 him the whole truth. And he said to her, daughter, 0:08:05.600 --> 0:08:08.680 your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be 0:08:08.800 --> 0:08:13.840 freed from your suffering. While Jesus was still speaking, some 0:08:13.920 --> 0:08:16.360 people came from the house of Gyrus, the synagogue leader, 0:08:17.080 --> 0:08:21.400 your daughter is dead, they said, why bother the teacher anymore? 0:08:21.920 --> 0:08:25.440 Overhearing what they said, one version says ignoring what they said, 0:08:25.800 --> 0:08:28.920 Jesus told him, don't be afraid, just believe. He did 0:08:28.960 --> 0:08:31.320 not let anyone follow him except Peter James and John, 0:08:31.360 --> 0:08:32.920 the brother of James. And when they came to the 0:08:32.920 --> 0:08:35.760 home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion with 0:08:35.840 --> 0:08:38.439 people crying and well and loudly. He went in and 0:08:38.480 --> 0:08:41.120 said to them, why all the commotion and welling? The 0:08:41.200 --> 0:08:44.840 child's not dead but asleep, But they laughed at him. 0:08:45.320 --> 0:08:47.040 After he put them all out, he took the child's 0:08:47.040 --> 0:08:48.720 father and mother and the disciples who were with him, 0:08:48.760 --> 0:08:50.679 and went in where the child was. He took her 0:08:50.720 --> 0:08:53.240 by the hand and said to her, talitha coomb, which 0:08:53.280 --> 0:08:57.280 means little girl, I say to you, get up. Immediately, 0:08:57.400 --> 0:09:00.240 the girl stood up and began to walk around. She 0:09:00.600 --> 0:09:03.960 was twelve years old. At this they were completely astonished. 0:09:04.080 --> 0:09:06.760 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, 0:09:06.920 --> 0:09:08.640 and then told him don't just stand there and look 0:09:08.640 --> 0:09:10.560 at the girl. Go to Chick fil a and get 0:09:10.640 --> 0:09:14.400 us something to eve. Come on, somebody that is good. 0:09:14.559 --> 0:09:20.960 All by itself, all by itself in full sermon prep disclosure. 0:09:21.760 --> 0:09:24.760 I almost titled this message. I almost titled this message 0:09:25.360 --> 0:09:29.960 get Up, because that's a good sermon title, gets up, 0:09:30.000 --> 0:09:33.320 because I thought that was the culmination and the climax 0:09:33.360 --> 0:09:36.360 of the miracle when Jesus told this little girl to 0:09:36.400 --> 0:09:39.280 get up. But upon further reflection, I realized that was 0:09:39.320 --> 0:09:41.640 a premature title, premature, and I had to back that 0:09:41.640 --> 0:09:47.520 thing up biblically, so Verses forty and forty one. I 0:09:47.520 --> 0:09:49.400 want us to hone in on Verses forty and forty one, 0:09:49.440 --> 0:09:52.120 because remember, Jesus walks in and says, this girl is 0:09:52.160 --> 0:09:56.320 not dead, she's just asleep. The Bible says that they 0:09:57.520 --> 0:10:10.040 laughed at him. Wo who is the they? The negative, doubting, hating, unbelieving, faithless, 0:10:10.360 --> 0:10:14.800 cantankerous people in the world. You know, those people that 0:10:15.080 --> 0:10:21.040 light up a room when they walk out, those people 0:10:21.320 --> 0:10:27.520 that for every solution they're gonna find a problem that's today. Okay. 0:10:27.559 --> 0:10:31.080 They laughed at him, and it says after he that's 0:10:31.160 --> 0:10:37.800 Jesus put them all out. The Greek suggests that he 0:10:37.960 --> 0:10:41.439 physically put all of them out. I don't want to 0:10:41.440 --> 0:10:44.200 mess up with your theology. Or your christology today, because 0:10:44.400 --> 0:10:47.280 you might think that Jesus is just kind and sweet 0:10:47.440 --> 0:10:51.559 and loving and caring and he's a good good father, 0:10:52.240 --> 0:10:54.400 and he is, but this text lets me know, don't 0:10:54.400 --> 0:10:58.120 get it twisted. He is so so gay because all 0:10:58.160 --> 0:11:02.959 of those negative, doubting, unbelieving, faithless people. He said, Oh, 0:11:03.080 --> 0:11:07.280 y'all got to gets you ain't gotta go home, but 0:11:07.360 --> 0:11:12.680 you gotta get out of here, savage Jesus. I love 0:11:12.760 --> 0:11:17.959 it so before she got up first, some people had 0:11:18.280 --> 0:11:22.600 to get out. Elevation Church. What if the power of 0:11:22.600 --> 0:11:26.920 a miracle is not just in the miracle itself, but 0:11:27.040 --> 0:11:31.800 rather in the atmosphere and the environment that surrounds your miracle. 0:11:34.400 --> 0:11:38.240 You've been telling some things to get up, but perhaps 0:11:38.400 --> 0:11:40.880 this is the season of your life to check your 0:11:41.040 --> 0:11:45.760 environment and start telling some things to gets Oh. I 0:11:45.760 --> 0:11:47.960 feel like preaching in here today. Come on, would you 0:11:47.960 --> 0:11:49.720 just look at your neighbor and tell them my title, 0:11:49.840 --> 0:11:52.480 just say get out? Oh come on, look at another 0:11:52.480 --> 0:11:54.560 neighbor like you got attitude and them saying get out, 0:11:56.040 --> 0:11:59.760 not now, but but later. Come on, let's pray long prayer. 0:12:00.000 --> 0:12:04.600 Other thank you for your word. Speak to us today, Amen, 0:12:07.080 --> 0:12:14.800 get out the divine intersection and collision of characters in 0:12:14.840 --> 0:12:21.400 this text today immediately gave me a nostalgic parental fatherhood 0:12:21.440 --> 0:12:26.040 flashback to November twenty fourteen. I remember it quite vividly 0:12:26.040 --> 0:12:27.520 because I was getting ready to leave our home in 0:12:27.559 --> 0:12:30.760 Dallas to go preach at a conference, just in anything unusual. 0:12:30.800 --> 0:12:33.680 I often leave to go preach at a conference. Except 0:12:33.679 --> 0:12:36.880 this time everything was different. Everything was different because I 0:12:36.920 --> 0:12:39.400 was not just leaving the house as a husband. Now, 0:12:39.440 --> 0:12:43.000 I was leaving the house as a father. Our firstborn daughter, Evie, 0:12:43.000 --> 0:12:46.679 had just entered the world, and I was in that emotional, 0:12:46.800 --> 0:12:51.320 precarious predicament of leaving my firstborn daughter for the first time. 0:12:51.760 --> 0:12:53.360 And come on, every parent in here will attest to 0:12:53.360 --> 0:12:56.800 the fact that things are different with your first child. Oh, 0:12:56.800 --> 0:12:58.480 come on, there are things that happen with your first 0:12:58.559 --> 0:13:01.680 child that none of your other children, whatever experience. Okay, 0:13:02.280 --> 0:13:04.560 Like now, now, Taylor and I we have three kids 0:13:04.920 --> 0:13:09.760 plus a demonic dog. So when I leave the house, now, 0:13:10.000 --> 0:13:13.120 I leave like I got warrants for my rest and 0:13:13.200 --> 0:13:16.520 I take the long route home. Okay. Often often Taylor 0:13:16.559 --> 0:13:18.800 will call me with chaos in the background. She'd be like, Babe, 0:13:18.840 --> 0:13:22.000 where are you I'll go. I'm in traffic. She's like, no, 0:13:22.280 --> 0:13:24.360 you in the driveway. I see you come in the 0:13:24.360 --> 0:13:28.040 house and help me with this kid. But when is 0:13:28.080 --> 0:13:31.520 your first, it's different, it's different. Your emotional tears are 0:13:31.520 --> 0:13:34.000 going this way, slots going the other way. I'm like 0:13:34.280 --> 0:13:37.960 that he loves you. I God put you so much. 0:13:38.920 --> 0:13:44.040 You is cold, she is small, she is important. I mean, 0:13:44.120 --> 0:13:47.800 I was a mess. I get to the conference. I 0:13:47.800 --> 0:13:49.520 get to the conference, I think it was in Florida, 0:13:49.640 --> 0:13:52.319 and I'm about to get up to preach, and I 0:13:52.400 --> 0:13:55.360 got the name of Eddie James is leading worship and 0:13:55.440 --> 0:13:58.120 of all songs, of all songs, he's actually singing, You're 0:13:58.200 --> 0:14:03.520 a good good father. I was like, norm not just 0:14:03.600 --> 0:14:04.960 the mess, said I don't even think I preached. I 0:14:05.000 --> 0:14:06.240 just put up a picture of my daughter's at that 0:14:06.400 --> 0:14:09.160 point one, two and three and got in the green 0:14:09.200 --> 0:14:11.280 room afterwards, and the worst leader, Eddie James, comes up 0:14:11.320 --> 0:14:13.840 to me. He says, Robert, congrats on your daughter. She's beautiful. 0:14:14.120 --> 0:14:19.400 I said, thank you. I made her. Then said, hey, Eddie, 0:14:19.680 --> 0:14:22.480 you know, my daughter Evey might not have ever been 0:14:22.520 --> 0:14:26.240 born if it wasn't for you. Eddie looked at me 0:14:26.360 --> 0:14:28.960 like I had lost my mind. I said, Eddie, you 0:14:29.040 --> 0:14:32.200 probably don't remember this, but in December two thousand and six, 0:14:32.600 --> 0:14:35.320 you were scheduled to lead worship and preach at Christ 0:14:35.360 --> 0:14:38.800 for the Nation's Institute in Dallas, Texas. But en route 0:14:38.800 --> 0:14:41.280 to Christ for the Nations, your van broke down on 0:14:41.320 --> 0:14:44.280 the side of the road. Eddie goes, I remember that night, 0:14:44.560 --> 0:14:45.960 I said. You picked up the phone and you called 0:14:45.960 --> 0:14:48.080 a man by the name of Adam McCain, and you 0:14:48.160 --> 0:14:49.960 let him know that by the time your van would 0:14:50.000 --> 0:14:52.280 be fixed, there was no way you would make the service, 0:14:52.600 --> 0:14:55.920 so regrettably you had to cancel. Adam McCain got off 0:14:55.960 --> 0:14:57.480 the phone with you and looked at a room full 0:14:57.520 --> 0:15:00.160 of people and said, Eddie, James just canceled for our 0:15:00.200 --> 0:15:03.040 Tuesday night Bible College chapel. Who in the world can 0:15:03.080 --> 0:15:06.080 we get last minute to fill? His spy in that 0:15:06.200 --> 0:15:07.920 room was a man by the name of Brian Meng. 0:15:08.200 --> 0:15:10.160 He lifts up his hand and says, I just heard 0:15:10.160 --> 0:15:13.480 this young guy named Robert Madoo preach. He's local, maybe 0:15:13.520 --> 0:15:15.280 he can do it. All of a sudden, my phone 0:15:15.320 --> 0:15:16.760 rings and a voice on the other line says, is 0:15:16.800 --> 0:15:21.480 this pastor Robert Madou? I say yes it is, says Robert. 0:15:21.520 --> 0:15:23.200 I know this is last minute, this is crazy, but 0:15:23.200 --> 0:15:25.960 we've just had a cancelation for our Tuesday Night Bible 0:15:26.000 --> 0:15:28.120 College Chapel. Is there any way you could come and 0:15:28.160 --> 0:15:30.520 speak to our young people? Now? Keep in mind during 0:15:30.560 --> 0:15:32.720 this time of my life, I myself am a Bible 0:15:32.760 --> 0:15:36.160 college student at Southwestern the Symblers of God University. So 0:15:36.200 --> 0:15:38.800 I said to Adam McCain, you know what it seems 0:15:38.840 --> 0:15:42.160 like yesterday I was a Bible college student myself. What 0:15:42.280 --> 0:15:44.280 an honor it would be to come in part to 0:15:44.360 --> 0:15:48.080 your young people. Drove from sad Good to see if 0:15:48.120 --> 0:15:50.200 and I I'm about to get up and preach. But 0:15:50.240 --> 0:15:52.720 before I get up, they say, it's Tuesday night, So 0:15:52.720 --> 0:15:55.960 it's time for our Tuesday night testimony video. We're gonna 0:15:55.960 --> 0:15:58.120 show a video of a student in our body whose 0:15:58.200 --> 0:16:01.120 life has been changed by Jesus Christ. And all of 0:16:01.200 --> 0:16:04.160 a sudden, on the screen comes the finest girl with 0:16:04.320 --> 0:16:08.040 the strongest Arkansas accent I have ever heard, and she 0:16:08.120 --> 0:16:11.200 starts telling her story of Jesus changing her life. Don't 0:16:11.200 --> 0:16:12.800 meet the girl. I'm at my school the next day, 0:16:12.880 --> 0:16:15.120 a girl test me in my shoulder. She goes, hey, Robert. 0:16:15.240 --> 0:16:18.520 I said, it's Pastor Robert Madieu. Now. She goes, was 0:16:18.560 --> 0:16:20.760 that you that I saw last night at Christ's Nations 0:16:20.760 --> 0:16:22.600 getting up to preach? I said, yeah, they called me 0:16:22.680 --> 0:16:25.200 last minute. They had a cancelation. She goes, Oh my goodness, 0:16:25.320 --> 0:16:27.400 Oh my good Did you see the girl on the 0:16:27.400 --> 0:16:30.480 screen telling her testimony before you preach? I said, yes, 0:16:30.640 --> 0:16:33.280 I did. She said, I've known her for years. I've 0:16:33.280 --> 0:16:35.000 known you for years, and I always thought that you 0:16:35.040 --> 0:16:37.280 two would be perfect for each other. But I never 0:16:37.360 --> 0:16:39.680 said anything but the fact that you were there preaching 0:16:39.720 --> 0:16:42.240 and they showed her video. You tube have got to meet, 0:16:42.560 --> 0:16:44.160 I said, Addie. The next week, that girl and I 0:16:44.200 --> 0:16:48.200 went on our very first day at the Illustrious International 0:16:48.440 --> 0:16:52.520 House of Bandcakes, I said, Addie. To make a long 0:16:52.640 --> 0:16:56.480 story short, that girl's name was Taylor Mitchell is now 0:16:56.680 --> 0:17:00.960 Taylor Mediou. We did what married people do, Evie. Is 0:17:01.000 --> 0:17:03.960 the evidence of that. Eddie. I am so glad your 0:17:04.040 --> 0:17:07.879 van broke down on the side of the world, and 0:17:14.160 --> 0:17:16.560 I share that story today, first of all, get some 0:17:16.560 --> 0:17:22.520 hope to the single people, but also to say, who 0:17:22.680 --> 0:17:26.879 in the world would have ever thought that Eddie and 0:17:26.960 --> 0:17:31.160 my ev were connected because their connection is not one 0:17:31.160 --> 0:17:33.720 that is easily seen on the surface. But once you 0:17:33.800 --> 0:17:36.960 begin to peel back the layers and dig down deep 0:17:37.160 --> 0:17:40.600 into the archaeological value of a person's life, it becomes 0:17:40.640 --> 0:17:42.600 so clear that none of us get to live our 0:17:42.640 --> 0:17:45.840 lives in autonomy, which is me, myself and I. But 0:17:45.920 --> 0:17:49.040 how many you know? All of us are connected. We 0:17:49.080 --> 0:17:55.120 are deeply connected. Miracles merge with miracles, Testimonies touch each other, 0:17:55.359 --> 0:17:58.640 our stories intersect. Whether you like the person sitting next 0:17:58.640 --> 0:18:01.600 to you or not, all of us are deeply and 0:18:01.720 --> 0:18:06.040 intrinsically connected. Oh yes, our lives are not straight lines. 0:18:06.280 --> 0:18:10.760 Our lives are actually links. We are all connected. And 0:18:10.800 --> 0:18:12.920 then it frustrates you when people you love don't understand 0:18:12.920 --> 0:18:14.600 this premise, and they got the nerve to tell you, 0:18:14.640 --> 0:18:17.280 don't worry about me, don't worry about me. You do you. 0:18:17.400 --> 0:18:19.840 I'm gonna do me. You do you, I'm gonna do me. 0:18:20.240 --> 0:18:21.600 And you want to look at them and say, well, 0:18:21.640 --> 0:18:25.640 you doing you is affecting me because all of us 0:18:25.720 --> 0:18:32.600 are deeply Oh we're connected. We're connected, So don't find 0:18:32.600 --> 0:18:35.240 it strange and Mark chapter five. Mark begins by talking 0:18:35.280 --> 0:18:37.720 about the synagogue leader by the name of Gyros but 0:18:37.760 --> 0:18:40.480 in the middle of Gyros's story, we're abruptly interrupted with 0:18:40.560 --> 0:18:42.560 the story of a woman with the issue of blood. 0:18:42.960 --> 0:18:45.640 And the reason Mark Hat strategically sandwiched these two story 0:18:45.720 --> 0:18:50.200 together is because the two of them are connected, deeply connected. 0:18:50.440 --> 0:18:52.760 In fact, to talk about Gyros the synagogue leader and 0:18:52.840 --> 0:18:55.119 never discuss the woman with the issue of blood is 0:18:55.160 --> 0:18:57.800 really to do an injustice to the integrity of this text. 0:18:57.960 --> 0:19:01.359 Because the two of them are connected. It so connected. Now, 0:19:01.359 --> 0:19:03.679 not on the surface, not on the surface. If you 0:19:03.720 --> 0:19:05.640 just look at the surface of their lives, they cannot 0:19:05.640 --> 0:19:08.119 be more opposite. Come on, if you look at the surface, 0:19:08.160 --> 0:19:10.280 one of these things is not like the other. Come on, 0:19:10.320 --> 0:19:12.520 let's just start with biology, one on one. Gyros is 0:19:12.520 --> 0:19:15.720 a man. She is a woman. Hello hoo. Gyros is 0:19:15.800 --> 0:19:18.119 named in the text. The Bible doesn't even give us 0:19:18.160 --> 0:19:22.840 this woman's name. Gyros was honored and respected. This woman 0:19:23.119 --> 0:19:26.879 has been shamed and rejected. Gyros is a ruler in 0:19:26.920 --> 0:19:30.080 the synagogue. This woman can't even come near the synagogue 0:19:30.320 --> 0:19:34.240 because her sickness has made her ceremonially unclean. Gyrus is 0:19:34.280 --> 0:19:36.640 actually affluent. He's got some money in the bank. This 0:19:36.680 --> 0:19:39.840 woman is broke. Busted and disgusted and has spent all 0:19:39.920 --> 0:19:42.800 she had on worthless physicians who have made her worse 0:19:42.880 --> 0:19:44.679 instead of better. Let me bring the text to the 0:19:44.680 --> 0:19:47.760 twenty first century. Gyrous is driving the bands, this woman 0:19:47.800 --> 0:19:50.719 is riding the bus. They have nothing in common on 0:19:50.760 --> 0:19:53.840 the peripheral, but yet life has put them in the 0:19:53.920 --> 0:19:57.760 exact same place, posture, and position because they both have 0:19:57.920 --> 0:20:02.399 been hit with something that they cannot handle. How many no? 0:20:02.560 --> 0:20:05.360 Life will do that. Life has a way of evening 0:20:05.440 --> 0:20:10.240 the playing field. Life is an equal opportunity employer. Life 0:20:10.280 --> 0:20:12.719 will hit you upside the head with some stuff that'll 0:20:12.720 --> 0:20:15.800 make you scratch your hand, that'll take your breath away. 0:20:16.119 --> 0:20:18.400 Life will hit you with stuff come on that your 0:20:18.440 --> 0:20:22.359 money can't fix, Your degrees, can't fix your Instagram followers 0:20:22.400 --> 0:20:25.479 can't fix. Life will hit an atheist with some stuff 0:20:25.560 --> 0:20:27.600 that'll make him throw up his hands and say, the 0:20:27.720 --> 0:20:31.120 Lord is in this place. Life will hit you with 0:20:31.160 --> 0:20:34.600 some stuff you cannot handle. And might I suggest that 0:20:34.680 --> 0:20:37.520 if life is hit you with something that you cannot handle, 0:20:37.800 --> 0:20:40.639 how many no? That thing is a job for Jesus. 0:20:40.840 --> 0:20:43.520 That's time for you to throw up your hands and say, God, 0:20:43.600 --> 0:20:46.560 I don't know what to do about this, But surely 0:20:46.760 --> 0:20:53.560 you know what to do. Oh look at Gyrus in 0:20:53.640 --> 0:20:57.280 this woman. Nothing in common on the surface. Both ended 0:20:57.320 --> 0:21:00.720 up in the same place, having to push people out 0:21:00.760 --> 0:21:04.040 the way to get an appointment with Jesus. I love 0:21:04.080 --> 0:21:05.959 it because now one of them had a pretty pathway 0:21:06.000 --> 0:21:09.080 with rose pedals to Jesus. They both had to physically 0:21:09.200 --> 0:21:13.400 push people out the way to get an appointment with Jesus. 0:21:13.400 --> 0:21:15.240 Just push. You know, Jivers is a pastor. You're not 0:21:15.280 --> 0:21:17.159 supposed to push people. I can see people coming to 0:21:17.160 --> 0:21:18.960 the Givers saying, hey, I really loved your Shamon the 0:21:18.960 --> 0:21:21.800 other day. He's like, you did good move. I'm like 0:21:22.080 --> 0:21:25.919 jes A pushing people out the way. This woman is 0:21:26.040 --> 0:21:29.399 ceremonially unclean. She's not supposed to be touching people. She 0:21:29.600 --> 0:21:34.359 touched everybody. That's no, not pushing people out the way. 0:21:34.920 --> 0:21:36.600 Oh you know why they're pushing. I'll tell you why 0:21:36.600 --> 0:21:41.600 they're pushing. They're pushing because desperate people do desperate things. 0:21:42.160 --> 0:21:43.760 Oh come on, how many know when you are really 0:21:43.800 --> 0:21:46.159 desperate for God to do something in your life, you 0:21:46.240 --> 0:21:49.879 come to church differently, you approach God differently. When you 0:21:49.960 --> 0:21:52.440 are desperate for God to show up, you don't care 0:21:52.480 --> 0:21:54.720 what the traffic is. You'll be in here before the 0:21:54.800 --> 0:21:57.680 countdown video. When you are desperate for God to show 0:21:57.760 --> 0:21:59.880 up in your life, you will lift up your hands 0:22:00.000 --> 0:22:02.200 if you will sing the songs, laugh, You don't care 0:22:02.200 --> 0:22:05.040 whose nerves you getting up. When you are desperate for 0:22:05.119 --> 0:22:07.879 God to show up, tears will come down your faith. 0:22:08.000 --> 0:22:10.360 You mess up out that Mary Kay and Mac makeup 0:22:10.440 --> 0:22:13.560 because there's something you need God to do in your life. 0:22:13.600 --> 0:22:16.480 And I'm wondering, are there any desperate people in this 0:22:16.640 --> 0:22:19.760 place that said there is something I need God to 0:22:19.920 --> 0:22:24.240 do in my life that only he convin Oh, come on, 0:22:24.320 --> 0:22:26.560 if you ain't desperate, you can be quiet. But if 0:22:26.600 --> 0:22:30.080 you're actually desperate, across every campus, I tell you to 0:22:30.200 --> 0:22:38.200 give God some praise like this something I'm desperate. Oh 0:22:38.280 --> 0:22:43.600 there's something about desperation, hear me. God will often use 0:22:43.680 --> 0:22:47.920 desperation to push you into your purpose. God will often 0:22:48.000 --> 0:22:51.480 use desperation to push you into your destiny. In fact, 0:22:51.520 --> 0:22:56.000 watch this. Desperation is the door that breakthrough walks through. 0:22:57.080 --> 0:23:00.960 I'm gonna say that again. Desperation is the door that 0:23:01.080 --> 0:23:03.840 breakthrough walks through. Some people wonder how come I hadn't 0:23:03.840 --> 0:23:06.000 got my breakthrough you. Sometimes it's because you hadn't got 0:23:06.080 --> 0:23:09.880 downright desperate enough for God to do it in your life, 0:23:09.960 --> 0:23:14.280 because desperation will open up doors that complacency will keep shut. 0:23:15.320 --> 0:23:17.920 I'm telling you, I'm travel and people will often ask me, Robert, 0:23:17.920 --> 0:23:20.920 where's your favorite place to preach? Your favorite place to preach? 0:23:20.960 --> 0:23:23.000 And to be honest, I struggle to name a place 0:23:23.320 --> 0:23:25.760 because I want to articulate to them that the effectiveness 0:23:25.760 --> 0:23:28.480 of preaching and ministry has little to do with an 0:23:28.480 --> 0:23:32.159 address or a destination of a place, but everything to 0:23:32.200 --> 0:23:35.439 do with the attitude and the disposition of the people 0:23:35.520 --> 0:23:38.439 that are in the place. Come on, I would rather 0:23:38.440 --> 0:23:40.919 ap preach in a basement with three desperate people than 0:23:40.960 --> 0:23:43.600 to preach on the Bahamas with thousands of bougies, suck 0:23:43.680 --> 0:23:45.679 up people who act like they don't need God to 0:23:45.720 --> 0:23:47.760 do anything in their life. But if you give me 0:23:47.800 --> 0:23:51.200 some desperate people, miracles will break forward. If you'll give 0:23:51.240 --> 0:23:54.680 me desperate people, signs and wonders will shut. If you'll 0:23:54.720 --> 0:23:59.160 give me desperate people, the atmosphere will shift and change, 0:23:59.200 --> 0:24:04.080 and God sell himself strong and mighty when you're desperate, 0:24:04.880 --> 0:24:08.159 When you're desperate, and it was the Rolling tides of 0:24:08.240 --> 0:24:13.320 desperation that brought Gyrus and this woman watched this both 0:24:13.760 --> 0:24:16.639 at the feet of Jesus. They both ended up at 0:24:16.640 --> 0:24:19.200 his feet. I love it. Nothing in common on the surface. 0:24:19.640 --> 0:24:22.200 Both ended up at the same place, at the feet 0:24:22.200 --> 0:24:25.240 of Jesus. This is a picture of the Gospel and 0:24:25.320 --> 0:24:27.399 the power of the Church that we can come in 0:24:27.440 --> 0:24:30.240 here today across every location, with all of our differences 0:24:30.280 --> 0:24:32.280 of the surface, but we all end up at the 0:24:32.320 --> 0:24:35.960 same place, at the feet of Jesus, saying there's something 0:24:36.040 --> 0:24:39.000 I need you to do in my life. Are you 0:24:39.040 --> 0:24:42.000 bored yet? Because I would love to delve into the 0:24:42.040 --> 0:24:46.000 details of their desperation. Gyros gets to Jesus first, and 0:24:46.560 --> 0:24:50.160 boy is he desperate. He's desperate because his baby girl, 0:24:50.920 --> 0:24:56.080 his little daughter, is dying. She is dying. So when 0:24:56.119 --> 0:24:57.800 he gets to Jesus, he is talking to Jesus with 0:24:57.800 --> 0:24:59.880 the vocal intonation of a nine to one to one caller. 0:25:00.400 --> 0:25:01.800 He's saying, jeez, I don't just need you to come 0:25:01.800 --> 0:25:04.359 to the house. I need you to hurry up and 0:25:04.480 --> 0:25:07.120 get to the house. This woman is just as desperate. 0:25:07.440 --> 0:25:09.680 But a situation has been going on for a while now. 0:25:09.720 --> 0:25:13.840 It's chronic. This bleeding, this hemorrhaging in her body. And 0:25:13.880 --> 0:25:16.439 watch how much Mark the gospel writer wants us to 0:25:16.440 --> 0:25:19.240 know that the two of them are connected, because it 0:25:19.400 --> 0:25:22.040 just so happens that Gyrus's little girl who is dying 0:25:22.480 --> 0:25:24.840 is twelve years old, and this woman with the issue 0:25:24.840 --> 0:25:28.840 of blood has been dealing with it now for twelve years. 0:25:29.080 --> 0:25:32.359 They're connected. So you got a twelve year old dying 0:25:32.480 --> 0:25:35.919 daughter and a twelve year old disease. A twelve year 0:25:35.960 --> 0:25:39.240 old dying daughter and a twelve year old disease. So 0:25:39.280 --> 0:25:42.960 that means, chronologically speaking, the same year that this little 0:25:42.960 --> 0:25:45.719 girl was born was the exact same year that this 0:25:45.760 --> 0:25:50.800 woman was diagnosed with her disease. That means, cinematically speaking, 0:25:51.160 --> 0:25:54.600 if Mark Chapter five was a movie and the producers 0:25:54.720 --> 0:25:58.600 of This Is Us were making the movie, this is 0:25:58.640 --> 0:26:01.000 the scene in the movie where it would flip from 0:26:01.040 --> 0:26:03.720 the feet of Jesus and say twelve years earlier, and 0:26:03.760 --> 0:26:05.800 it would go to a hospital, and coming out in 0:26:05.800 --> 0:26:08.879 the hospital would be Gyrous his wife and them holding 0:26:08.880 --> 0:26:12.439 a brand new baby girl, smiling ear to ear with 0:26:12.520 --> 0:26:16.040 the full elation of parenthood, and then perhaps walking out 0:26:16.080 --> 0:26:20.280 of that same hospital, here's a woman tears coming down 0:26:20.280 --> 0:26:23.240 her face because she's just been diagnosed with a disease 0:26:23.840 --> 0:26:26.000 and the doctors don't even know what to do about it. 0:26:26.359 --> 0:26:28.240 And maybe they were in the same hospital that day 0:26:28.280 --> 0:26:31.240 but didn't even see each other. Come on, Church, isn't 0:26:31.240 --> 0:26:33.960 it just like life? Sometimes in life you can be 0:26:34.040 --> 0:26:37.680 so preoccupied with your promise or so preoccupied with your 0:26:37.760 --> 0:26:42.000 personal pain that you don't even see other people around you. 0:26:42.000 --> 0:26:44.800 You can be so excited about what God has done 0:26:44.840 --> 0:26:47.960 in your life, are so disappointed about what hadn't come 0:26:48.000 --> 0:26:51.119 to pass yet, that you are oblivious to other people 0:26:51.240 --> 0:26:55.480 around you. And can I suggest in this narcissistic, individualistic, 0:26:55.760 --> 0:26:59.240 self resaturated society in which we live, we had forgotten 0:26:59.320 --> 0:27:02.399 rowan to twelve that says you've got to rejoice within 0:27:02.480 --> 0:27:06.000 that rejoice, but also weep with those that weep, and 0:27:06.040 --> 0:27:09.040 don't be so concerned about you that you miss other 0:27:09.200 --> 0:27:13.600 people around you. Oh, come on, Thank God for Jesus, 0:27:14.040 --> 0:27:16.160 because the two people that didn't see each other at 0:27:16.160 --> 0:27:19.320 the hospital were forced to see each other at the 0:27:19.359 --> 0:27:22.359 hem of his garment, And now the two twelves are touching. 0:27:22.480 --> 0:27:25.120 Who somebody say twelve, I'll say it like I had 0:27:25.119 --> 0:27:28.200 your coffee, Say twelve how many. You know. You don't 0:27:28.200 --> 0:27:30.080 need a Bible calluge degree. You don't have to be 0:27:30.160 --> 0:27:33.080 a student biblical numerology to know there are some numbers 0:27:33.119 --> 0:27:35.879 in the Bible that God has given you biblical blues 0:27:35.920 --> 0:27:39.440 clues that these numbers are a big deal. Okay, twelve 0:27:39.640 --> 0:27:42.119 is one of those numbers. Twelve is a big number 0:27:42.200 --> 0:27:44.960 to God. You remember that when God began his covenant 0:27:44.960 --> 0:27:47.800 with his people, a covenant that commenced with the call 0:27:47.840 --> 0:27:51.760 of Abraham, continue with Isaac, but culminated in Jacob. You 0:27:51.840 --> 0:27:55.600 remember that Jacob had not one, not ten, twelve sons, 0:27:55.800 --> 0:27:59.080 representing the power and the authority of God's covenant with 0:27:59.119 --> 0:28:03.400 his people. Those twelve sons became the twelve tribes of Israel, 0:28:03.640 --> 0:28:06.879 representing the power and the authority and the strength of 0:28:06.920 --> 0:28:09.800 that nation. You remember in the Old Testament, whenever the 0:28:09.880 --> 0:28:12.159 high priests were going to the Holy of Holies on 0:28:12.200 --> 0:28:14.520 behalf of the people of God, he would stand there 0:28:14.520 --> 0:28:18.280 with a breastplate that had twelve precious stones, representing those 0:28:18.320 --> 0:28:21.240 twelve tribes of Israel, and he would stand there in 0:28:21.400 --> 0:28:23.760 power and in authority. Come on, you know, our New 0:28:23.760 --> 0:28:26.760 Testament high priest, who is Jesus the first time we 0:28:26.800 --> 0:28:29.119 see him teaching in the temple is at the tender 0:28:29.160 --> 0:28:32.399 age of twelve, and they marveled at the wisdom and 0:28:32.440 --> 0:28:34.679 the power and the authority that came out of a 0:28:34.760 --> 0:28:37.280 twelve year old. You remember when that twelve year old 0:28:37.280 --> 0:28:39.320 turned thirty and he got ready to pick his crew, 0:28:39.400 --> 0:28:42.000 his road dolls, his disciples. If it was me, I 0:28:42.000 --> 0:28:44.400 would have stopped at eleven. But not Jesus. He said, 0:28:44.400 --> 0:28:46.440 I need the hater to come on Judas, and he 0:28:46.520 --> 0:28:50.320 picked twelve dudes to roam the earth, and he gave 0:28:50.400 --> 0:28:53.840 him power and authority to heal the sick and the 0:28:53.920 --> 0:28:56.720 cast out. Name of twelve is the number of God's power. 0:28:57.160 --> 0:28:59.680 Twelve is the number of God's authority. Do you know 0:28:59.720 --> 0:29:01.800 what Jesus is trying to teach us with the twelves. 0:29:01.960 --> 0:29:03.600 He's trying to teach us what he's been trying to 0:29:03.600 --> 0:29:07.120 say this the moment he landed on planet Earth. God says, 0:29:07.160 --> 0:29:09.880 I don't care whether it's a blind eye, a death ear, 0:29:10.120 --> 0:29:13.600 a withered hand, an issue of blood, a disease, demon, 0:29:13.680 --> 0:29:17.800 possession of storm, or even death itself. There is absolutely 0:29:17.880 --> 0:29:20.880 nothing that you're facing that is not under the jurisdiction 0:29:21.280 --> 0:29:25.280 of my power and my authority. I got the power 0:29:25.560 --> 0:29:31.200 and the authority to handle whatever your faci. Oh, somebody 0:29:31.200 --> 0:29:34.240 ought to give God some praise today. If you're faithful, 0:29:34.560 --> 0:29:37.640 then no matter what comes against you, He's got the 0:29:37.920 --> 0:29:43.680 power and the authority to fix it. How far your 0:29:43.680 --> 0:29:48.800 neighbors say, he's got the power, he's got the authority. 0:29:49.640 --> 0:29:52.120 Why is that important to hear me today? That's so 0:29:52.160 --> 0:29:57.760 important because your awareness of his authority, his authority will 0:29:57.800 --> 0:30:02.680 determine how much you receive from him. Your awareness of 0:30:02.720 --> 0:30:07.040 God's authority will determine how much you receive from him. 0:30:07.240 --> 0:30:09.360 See often we reduce this text just to faith because 0:30:09.360 --> 0:30:11.160 he said, Dodd of your faith has healed you. So 0:30:11.160 --> 0:30:12.840 we tell you you gotta get more faith. Give more faith. 0:30:12.840 --> 0:30:14.920 And faith is important. Come on, this is the substance 0:30:14.920 --> 0:30:17.520 of things, hope for it's the evidence of things not seeing. 0:30:17.560 --> 0:30:20.920 You need faith. Faith is our anchor. But nobody takes 0:30:20.960 --> 0:30:23.320 an anchor and just throws it in the water. You're 0:30:23.320 --> 0:30:26.760 gonna lose that anchor. You better connect that anchor to something. 0:30:27.040 --> 0:30:30.600 And my faith is connected to his authority, the authority 0:30:30.640 --> 0:30:33.360 of his word, the authority of his power. That's what 0:30:33.520 --> 0:30:36.840 my faith has got to be connected to. If you 0:30:36.880 --> 0:30:39.600 don't believe he's the ultimate authority, how many, No, your 0:30:39.640 --> 0:30:42.760 faith is gonna struggle. Some of you think you got 0:30:42.800 --> 0:30:45.560 a faith problem. Now your faith is good. You just 0:30:45.600 --> 0:30:48.480 need an awareness of his authority. Because if you don't 0:30:48.480 --> 0:30:51.760 believe he's the ultimate authority, your faith is gonna struggle. 0:30:52.320 --> 0:30:53.960 Give us some scripture for that, Robert, I give you 0:30:54.040 --> 0:30:57.080 some scripture. You remember the disciples, remember when not on 0:30:57.120 --> 0:30:59.480 the boat and the hurricane is going crazy, and Jesus 0:30:59.560 --> 0:31:03.360 is chilling accent in the boat, just just sound asleep 0:31:03.520 --> 0:31:05.120 on the boat, and the disciples are having a panic, 0:31:05.120 --> 0:31:07.640 And they said, oh, Jesus, don't you call me not 0:31:07.800 --> 0:31:10.040 to die? And I love Jesus. He gets up in 0:31:10.080 --> 0:31:13.560 a hurricane, cool, calm and collected with sovereign swags and 0:31:13.600 --> 0:31:15.959 gets up to the edge of the boat in a hurricane, 0:31:16.120 --> 0:31:25.720 just peace, be still, and the winds and the waves 0:31:25.760 --> 0:31:28.160 are still in a moment, and all the disciples jaws 0:31:28.160 --> 0:31:30.320 were on the floor. They go, who is this man 0:31:30.840 --> 0:31:34.040 that even the winds and the waves obey him? They 0:31:34.200 --> 0:31:37.680 marveled at his authority. And what did Jesus say to them, Oh, 0:31:37.840 --> 0:31:41.360 you of the little faith, your faith is little because 0:31:41.360 --> 0:31:44.440 you didn't have an awareness of my authority. If you 0:31:44.520 --> 0:31:47.680 knew who I really was, who I really was, you 0:31:47.680 --> 0:31:49.400 should have looked at me when I was asleep on 0:31:49.440 --> 0:31:52.040 the boat and said, who is this man that is 0:31:52.160 --> 0:31:55.480 sleeping in a hurricane. If this storm ain't bothering him, 0:31:55.840 --> 0:31:58.360 it ain't gonna bother me. Stood over the jeesus, Let 0:31:58.400 --> 0:32:01.120 me just cuddle with you, because if you ain't stressed 0:32:01.160 --> 0:32:04.400 about this, you must know that in the end, I'm 0:32:04.400 --> 0:32:08.120 gonna with Oh, come on, somebody, God is not stressing 0:32:08.440 --> 0:32:15.480 about what you're stressing about. He's got power and authority. Oh, somebody, 0:32:15.520 --> 0:32:19.720 give God some praise. If you know the power the 0:32:19.840 --> 0:32:24.719 authority that is in his hand. I'm telling you you 0:32:24.760 --> 0:32:27.920 don't got a faith problem. You got an awareness of 0:32:27.960 --> 0:32:32.120 his authority problem. When you know he's the ultimate authority, 0:32:32.160 --> 0:32:35.520 your faith can go to a whole another level. You 0:32:36.960 --> 0:32:42.040 think the doctor is the ultimate authority, You think your 0:32:42.200 --> 0:32:46.120 friend is the ultimate you think your cousin and him, oh, 0:32:46.160 --> 0:32:49.720 the ultimate authority. Ah, But once you know he's the 0:32:49.800 --> 0:32:55.080 ultimate authority, your faith can go to a whole nothing level. Oh, 0:32:55.120 --> 0:33:01.160 I gotta hurry, what's it is? Gyrus got a house call? 0:33:01.840 --> 0:33:05.000 Because that was his awareness of his authority. Remember, he 0:33:05.040 --> 0:33:07.240 works in the synagogue, he's a pastor. He approaches Jesus 0:33:07.280 --> 0:33:10.160 as a classic pastor. He said, Jesus, please, my daughter's dying. 0:33:10.200 --> 0:33:12.320 You gotta come to the house. Hallelujah. Here below is 0:33:12.360 --> 0:33:14.760 already playing in the background, and you gotta come. You 0:33:14.800 --> 0:33:16.680 gotta lay hands on He's Pentecostal too. He said, you 0:33:16.680 --> 0:33:19.360 gotta lay hands on her because that's the way it works. 0:33:19.400 --> 0:33:22.040 That's my awareness of your authority. So Jesus goes, okay, 0:33:22.240 --> 0:33:25.040 I'll go. Because that was his awareness of his authority. 0:33:25.320 --> 0:33:28.680 This woman had a whole nother awareness of his authority. 0:33:28.880 --> 0:33:31.120 She hadn't been in the synagogue, so she said, Jesz no, 0:33:31.200 --> 0:33:32.320 you ain't got to come to my house. I ain't 0:33:32.320 --> 0:33:34.280 got time for that. All I gotta do is touch 0:33:34.360 --> 0:33:37.200 to him of your guard man. If I just touched him, 0:33:37.520 --> 0:33:39.880 of your car man, I know I'm gonna be made 0:33:39.920 --> 0:33:44.400 whole if I just touched to him. That was her awareness. 0:33:44.520 --> 0:33:46.720 That what she got. Oh but how man, you know 0:33:46.760 --> 0:33:49.440 a centurion Matthew chapter eight that had a whole nother 0:33:49.560 --> 0:33:52.600 awareness of his authority. That soldier went up to Jesus 0:33:52.640 --> 0:33:55.840 and said, I'm a man in authority and under authority. 0:33:56.080 --> 0:33:58.800 He says, my servant is sick at the house, but 0:33:58.840 --> 0:34:00.840 I'm not worthy for you to come to my house. 0:34:01.080 --> 0:34:03.800 If you'll just speak the word, Jesus, just send a 0:34:03.880 --> 0:34:06.800 voice memo. I believe he'll be healed by you just 0:34:06.920 --> 0:34:10.640 speaking the word. And somebody got healed without Jesus laying 0:34:10.719 --> 0:34:15.640 hands hold them because somebody understood affording. Oh and what 0:34:15.680 --> 0:34:18.839 did Jesus say to that centurion? Never have I seen 0:34:18.840 --> 0:34:22.440 a faith like this in all of Israel. He marveled 0:34:22.680 --> 0:34:24.920 at his say, Jesus, why are you marveling that his faith? 0:34:25.160 --> 0:34:29.320 Because he's got an awareness of my authority. This woman 0:34:29.360 --> 0:34:34.640 goes for twelve years. Twelve years, I've been approaching people 0:34:34.640 --> 0:34:37.480 with no authority. I mean no, this is so important 0:34:37.520 --> 0:34:41.840 because if you don't believe somebody's the ultimate authority, you'll 0:34:41.960 --> 0:34:47.080 doubt the validity of their words. If I don't believe 0:34:47.080 --> 0:34:49.799 you the real authority, I will doubt the validity of 0:34:49.800 --> 0:34:52.120 your words. Come on, think practically been on there. You've 0:34:52.120 --> 0:34:54.040 been on the phone with somebody that you knew was 0:34:54.040 --> 0:34:57.560 a mid level employee and they're telling you something that's 0:34:57.560 --> 0:35:01.200 contradictory to exemplary customer service after you get frustrated, if 0:35:01.200 --> 0:35:03.759 you're like, can I please speak to your manager? Can 0:35:03.800 --> 0:35:06.600 I speak to your super advisor? H y'all don't do that. 0:35:06.680 --> 0:35:09.360 Y'all super saved here. Okay, I do that. I speak 0:35:09.360 --> 0:35:12.200 to managers. Okay. This happened to me not too long ago. 0:35:12.239 --> 0:35:14.000 I had I had a reservation at a hotel that 0:35:14.040 --> 0:35:15.960 had been booked for a while, and the girl behind 0:35:15.960 --> 0:35:18.400 the desk was like, I'm sorry, mister mcdode. We're fully committed. 0:35:18.520 --> 0:35:20.439 We're sold out. I try to stay safe. I said, 0:35:20.440 --> 0:35:23.120 hold and I said, this has been booked for several months. 0:35:23.160 --> 0:35:25.080 He's like, no, I'm sorry, We're fully committed. That was 0:35:25.160 --> 0:35:27.200 nice about I said, can I just speak to your manager? 0:35:27.400 --> 0:35:29.839 Can I speak to your supervisor? The manager comes behind 0:35:29.880 --> 0:35:32.800 the door, she goes, girl move, I'm so sorry, mister mcdoud. 0:35:32.960 --> 0:35:35.839 She's new. Here. It is right here. Here's your reservation. 0:35:36.120 --> 0:35:38.560 I'm so sorry for all your trouble. We're gonna upgrade 0:35:38.600 --> 0:35:41.399 you to an executive suite. How did I go from 0:35:41.400 --> 0:35:44.840 about to be on the street to an executive suite 0:35:44.960 --> 0:35:48.400 Because somebody with some power and some authority new with 0:35:48.719 --> 0:35:52.680 button to push hope you'll get so annoyed. But I'm 0:35:52.680 --> 0:35:55.359 what they inter me doing to your family, to your 0:35:55.520 --> 0:35:58.120 mind that you threw up your hands and say, I 0:35:58.239 --> 0:36:01.880 need to speak to us. So I need to speak 0:36:01.920 --> 0:36:06.080 to the dog that fawned me, the aupa, and they 0:36:06.160 --> 0:36:12.000 are made the first andthelast. Somebody give him praise. If 0:36:12.040 --> 0:36:20.920 you know who is hallelujah. He's got the power, he's 0:36:20.960 --> 0:36:26.040 got the authority, he's got the final say. This woman goes. 0:36:26.080 --> 0:36:29.160 For twelve years, I've been speaking to mid level employees. 0:36:32.440 --> 0:36:36.279 I demand an appointment with the supervisor. She touched the 0:36:36.320 --> 0:36:40.919 hem of his garment. Immediately, She's made whole. Somebody plays 0:36:40.920 --> 0:36:42.520 softly behind me. I'll make this sound a whole lot 0:36:42.520 --> 0:36:52.359 more spiritual. Watch this her her healing. As awesome as 0:36:52.360 --> 0:36:56.640 it was, Don't forget it was actually an interruption to 0:36:56.760 --> 0:37:00.400 Jesus's journey to Jyrus's house. Don't forget who got to 0:37:00.480 --> 0:37:04.439 Jesus first. Gyrous did? He said, Jesus. I can see 0:37:04.440 --> 0:37:06.600 exactly how it went down. He's like, Jesus, please, please, 0:37:07.000 --> 0:37:09.480 can you come to my house? My baby girl is dying. 0:37:09.600 --> 0:37:11.839 Jesus says, yes, I'll go. Can you imagine the joy 0:37:11.840 --> 0:37:15.480 that filled Gyrus's heart. When Jesus said, I'll go the 0:37:15.560 --> 0:37:18.480 text is cleared. There's a crowd of people there that day, 0:37:18.520 --> 0:37:21.680 a huge crowd, and time is of the essence, So 0:37:21.760 --> 0:37:25.480 Gyrous's challenges to get Jesus through the crowd to his 0:37:25.600 --> 0:37:28.600 house so his daughter can be healed. I see how 0:37:28.600 --> 0:37:29.600 it went down. You know how this is when it's 0:37:29.600 --> 0:37:31.040 a crowd of people in your and hurry, excuse me, 0:37:31.080 --> 0:37:32.960 excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. 0:37:33.200 --> 0:37:35.279 And he checks back to make sure Jesus you said okay, good. 0:37:35.280 --> 0:37:37.920 Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. No, 0:37:37.960 --> 0:37:40.360 I got to h first. Move excuse me, excuse me, 0:37:40.400 --> 0:37:42.520 excuse me. Checks me. You're still okay, good, excuse me, 0:37:42.560 --> 0:37:45.120 excuse me, move, excuse me. You're still there, Jesus, okay, good, 0:37:45.160 --> 0:37:46.480 excuse me, excuse me. And all of a sudden, the 0:37:46.520 --> 0:37:50.760 text will suggests that he loses Jesus in the crowd. 0:37:51.239 --> 0:37:53.759 Wait a minute, what is he? I told him? I 0:37:53.840 --> 0:37:56.360 taught him this is an emergency. Excuse me, what did 0:37:56.400 --> 0:37:59.040 you know? And he finally finds him in a crowd 0:37:59.080 --> 0:38:04.560 of people talking about who touched me and Joseph, are 0:38:04.600 --> 0:38:08.440 you seriously now, I've just told you this is the 0:38:08.400 --> 0:38:12.200 emergency you're playing? Twenty one questions what you mean? Who touches? 0:38:12.360 --> 0:38:15.799 Everybody touch her? Oh, don't act like you ain't never 0:38:15.840 --> 0:38:18.680 been there before. Don't act like you never told Jesus 0:38:18.719 --> 0:38:21.799 this is an emergency. You need a hurry. They about 0:38:21.840 --> 0:38:25.960 to take my car. You a better hurry, And he 0:38:26.200 --> 0:38:34.680 just taken who touched me? We'll wait? Wait? Wild Gyrous 0:38:34.760 --> 0:38:37.920 is standing there. Who knows how long it takes for 0:38:38.000 --> 0:38:42.319 this woman to finally, sheepishly come through the crowd and 0:38:42.400 --> 0:38:48.160 says it was me and Jesus The compassionate Savior takes 0:38:48.200 --> 0:38:53.080 his time to talk to her, who wild Gyrous is waiting. 0:38:54.080 --> 0:38:57.040 The Bible says that she told him the whole truth. 0:38:57.080 --> 0:39:02.440 Another version says she told him her whole story. She 0:39:05.000 --> 0:39:09.400 told him she ladies, I love you, but have you 0:39:09.440 --> 0:39:12.719 ever had to let me tell you her host? Oh, 0:39:12.760 --> 0:39:14.800 don't be in a hurry, get to a comfortable seat. 0:39:14.920 --> 0:39:18.239 How lah was this guy get a dude to tell 0:39:18.239 --> 0:39:22.080 you his whole story? He'd be like, I'm good? How 0:39:22.160 --> 0:39:26.200 long is this conversation? And I can see the Steve 0:39:26.320 --> 0:39:30.160 coming off of gyruses forehead. Look are you serious? Girl? 0:39:30.200 --> 0:39:33.960 Get your healing in go? Oh, peter yourways running your 0:39:33.960 --> 0:39:36.000 Mouth's be a good time to tell your boy to 0:39:36.160 --> 0:39:41.439 hurry out. Oh, ain't that frustrating? God makes you wait? 0:39:43.160 --> 0:39:48.280 Not only that he had to watch her get her miracle. 0:39:50.640 --> 0:39:53.520 If it's not frustrating enough to wait on your miracle, 0:39:54.160 --> 0:39:56.080 what do you do when you're waiting on your miracle 0:39:56.680 --> 0:40:01.000 and God makes you watch somebody else get theirs? You 0:40:01.080 --> 0:40:06.840 got that fake smiling your face like, oh you got here, hallelujah? 0:40:07.800 --> 0:40:15.600 Have we Gonnah? It's funny. Tell us you waiting to 0:40:15.640 --> 0:40:20.560 be healed, watching other people get healed, waiting to have 0:40:20.680 --> 0:40:24.040 a baby, watching other people post pictures of their baby 0:40:24.080 --> 0:40:27.359 on Instagram? What do you do? You've got to wait 0:40:27.400 --> 0:40:29.680 on your miracle and watch somebody else get theirs and 0:40:29.719 --> 0:40:33.239 I found. God will often often make you watch a 0:40:33.280 --> 0:40:37.880 miracle while you're waiting on a miracle. Not to discourage you, no, 0:40:38.000 --> 0:40:40.680 he's a good, good father, but to encourage you to 0:40:40.719 --> 0:40:43.200 let you know that if God did it for them, 0:40:43.200 --> 0:40:45.279 oh come on, he can do it for you too. 0:40:45.760 --> 0:40:49.160 He is not a respectable person's If God bless him, 0:40:49.480 --> 0:40:51.920 he can bless you too. That's why you want not 0:40:52.040 --> 0:40:55.560 hate on anybody. Don't be jealous of anybody. The same 0:40:55.719 --> 0:40:58.840 God that did it for them is faithful to do 0:40:58.960 --> 0:41:07.360 it for you too. That's good news. I'm glad you 0:41:07.480 --> 0:41:09.160 clapped at that. I'm a preacher. I set you up 0:41:09.200 --> 0:41:12.279 for that clap. I'm sorry because we say that a 0:41:12.280 --> 0:41:13.799 lot of God did it for me, he'll do it 0:41:13.800 --> 0:41:16.480 for you too, And it's true. But I think there's 0:41:16.480 --> 0:41:20.120 an erroneous ideology attached to that, because often when we 0:41:20.120 --> 0:41:21.520 say if God did it for me, he'll do it 0:41:21.520 --> 0:41:23.319 for you too, we think that means he'll do it 0:41:23.360 --> 0:41:26.600 in the same way. So if God blessed you with 0:41:26.680 --> 0:41:29.759 a house, he gonna bless me with a house in 0:41:29.800 --> 0:41:32.000 the same neighborhood and with the same square footage. And 0:41:32.000 --> 0:41:35.799 I'm a measure Jesus, so keep it even and do 0:41:35.840 --> 0:41:37.319 it for you toobe. But often it won't be in 0:41:37.360 --> 0:41:40.719 the same way. Because Gyros and this woman hear me 0:41:40.800 --> 0:41:45.280 both wanted the same thing. They both wanted healing. Gyros 0:41:45.320 --> 0:41:51.640 didn't get a healing, he got a resurrection, which sounds awesome. 0:41:52.440 --> 0:41:55.919 Don't clap too soon till you remember that the prerequisite 0:41:55.960 --> 0:42:01.439 for resurrection, it's death. Can you imagine how Gyrous's heart 0:42:01.520 --> 0:42:04.560 sunk in his chest? And while he was waiting and watching, 0:42:04.600 --> 0:42:07.400 they tap him on the shoulder and says, Gyrus, don't 0:42:07.440 --> 0:42:12.160 bother the teacher anymore. Your daughter is dead. Oh I 0:42:12.200 --> 0:42:15.240 feel Gyrus's pain, But I realized Girous has horrible friends, 0:42:16.200 --> 0:42:21.000 terrible friends hashtag the worst friends ever. Not because they 0:42:21.000 --> 0:42:22.880 told him his daughter was dead. That was the facts. 0:42:23.520 --> 0:42:27.400 It was the commentary. They added to the facts. They said, Gyrus, 0:42:28.120 --> 0:42:30.440 why bother I have to use his voice. They annoy me, Gyros, 0:42:31.280 --> 0:42:34.759 Why bother the teacher anymore? Your daughter's dead, Gyrous, Your 0:42:34.800 --> 0:42:37.239 daughter's already dead, and essays Gyrus, This is the time 0:42:37.280 --> 0:42:39.600 to give up, Gyrus, This is the time to throw 0:42:39.640 --> 0:42:41.680 in the towel. Watch out for people in your life 0:42:41.680 --> 0:42:43.359 that are so quick to tell you to give up. 0:42:43.480 --> 0:42:46.360 Oh what God spoke in your spirit on the promise 0:42:46.440 --> 0:42:48.799 he gave you. How you're gonna tell me to give up? 0:42:48.920 --> 0:42:51.440 This is not your daughter? And how you're gonna tell 0:42:51.480 --> 0:42:54.480 me don't bother the teacher You don't have an awareness 0:42:54.480 --> 0:42:57.359 of there's annoyed it. He's more than the teacher. He's 0:42:57.400 --> 0:43:02.400 a healer. He's a wam maker's worder. He's no reelection 0:43:03.040 --> 0:43:08.319 and the life, no even death itself. He'd stop him. 0:43:08.760 --> 0:43:16.719 Come on, somebody, did God play? He lifted passid No. 0:43:18.880 --> 0:43:22.240 I rather because I think when Gyros got the news, 0:43:22.320 --> 0:43:25.520 he was so dazed he didn't even want to move anymore. 0:43:25.560 --> 0:43:28.399 And finally Jesus speaks to him. He says, Gyrus, don't 0:43:28.400 --> 0:43:32.960 be afraid, just believe. Don't be afraid, just believing. I 0:43:32.960 --> 0:43:35.439 think that's when the journey switched. I think that's when 0:43:35.520 --> 0:43:38.560 Jesus started leading Gyros, saying Jonas, come on, I know 0:43:38.600 --> 0:43:40.680 you think it's so for but family, come on, givers, 0:43:40.719 --> 0:43:42.880 I need you to walk with the same enthusiasm that 0:43:42.960 --> 0:43:44.880 you're happy for. It's not gonna come on, jobs, I 0:43:44.920 --> 0:43:46.880 know where you live, Come on, follow me. This is 0:43:46.920 --> 0:43:49.160 the way it's supposed to be. You're never supposed to 0:43:49.160 --> 0:43:52.600 be leading Jesus. He's supposed to be leading you, and 0:43:52.680 --> 0:43:59.480 you gotta file with your heartbroken walks in the house. 0:44:00.360 --> 0:44:03.440 He started the funeral. He said, while y'all crying, the 0:44:03.480 --> 0:44:08.560 girl's not dead, she's just asleep. And they laughed. So 0:44:08.719 --> 0:44:11.840 you think that's funny? Ever single one of y'all they 0:44:11.960 --> 0:44:18.000 laughed yet Oh no, I saw your laughing gets Oh, 0:44:18.160 --> 0:44:22.359 unbelief will always laugh at the language of faith. Yes, Oh, 0:44:22.400 --> 0:44:24.920 somebody needs to serve an addiction notice on the enemy 0:44:24.960 --> 0:44:28.919 today and start telling us some things take get out.
