Man, 0:01:56.160 --> 0:01:59.000 I just want to remind you that you are extraordinary. 0:02:00.200 --> 0:02:03.720 Nobody wants to be ordinary today. We all want to 0:02:03.760 --> 0:02:07.520 be extraordinary. We want to live an extraordinary life. And 0:02:07.600 --> 0:02:10.760 I believe that's what Jesus said. He said, I want 0:02:10.760 --> 0:02:14.000 to come to give you a life and a life 0:02:14.200 --> 0:02:17.600 of abundance. See he came so that we could live 0:02:18.000 --> 0:02:23.160 an abundant life, an extraordinary life, an exceptional life. God 0:02:23.400 --> 0:02:27.119 doesn't want us to live average, mediocre. He doesn't want 0:02:27.200 --> 0:02:30.760 us to be ordinary in our thinking. He wants us 0:02:30.800 --> 0:02:34.000 to be extraordinary in our thinking. He wants us to 0:02:34.320 --> 0:02:37.720 expect more, to go for more, to strive for more, 0:02:38.080 --> 0:02:41.480 to be the very best that we can be. Do 0:02:41.560 --> 0:02:44.080 you know when you're the very best you can be today, 0:02:44.560 --> 0:02:50.480 your tomorrow will be better. See when you prepare for today, hey, 0:02:50.960 --> 0:02:56.760 you'll be ready for the opportunities tomorrow. When preparation meets opportunity, 0:02:57.160 --> 0:03:01.280 it's called success. So I want to encourage all of 0:03:01.360 --> 0:03:05.560 us to not have just this ordinary mindset, but have 0:03:05.600 --> 0:03:12.720 an extraordinary mindset. Expect to be full of joy, abundance, creativity, blessing. 0:03:13.480 --> 0:03:16.120 You know, Joel was just saying to us earlier, and 0:03:16.160 --> 0:03:18.440 I think it's something that we need to hear when 0:03:18.440 --> 0:03:20.080 we come to the House of the Lord, and we 0:03:20.120 --> 0:03:24.520 need to express to ourself that we're a masterpiece. We 0:03:24.560 --> 0:03:27.920 didn't just come off of an assembly line. We're an original. 0:03:28.720 --> 0:03:33.720 We have callings and giftings that are matchless. See, only 0:03:33.840 --> 0:03:36.680 you can do what God's called you to do. Only 0:03:36.800 --> 0:03:40.840 you were created to be you. You weren't created to 0:03:40.840 --> 0:03:44.160 be anyone else. You weren't created to coffee anyone else. 0:03:44.520 --> 0:03:48.200 You were designed uniquely you. So get this down in 0:03:48.240 --> 0:03:51.800 your heart, get this down in your spirit today and say, 0:03:51.840 --> 0:03:56.120 I'm tired of living ordinary. I'm tired of living just mundane. 0:03:56.200 --> 0:04:00.400 I'm going to start having this extraordinary mindset. You say, 0:04:00.400 --> 0:04:04.240 but Victoria, my life is just routine. 0:04:04.600 --> 0:04:04.960 You know what. 0:04:06.080 --> 0:04:10.800 All of our lives are routine. Most of life is 0:04:10.840 --> 0:04:15.800 doing the same thing over and over again. We get 0:04:15.880 --> 0:04:18.960 up in the morning, we go to work, we do 0:04:19.000 --> 0:04:24.320 our jobs. We come home, we wash the dishes, we 0:04:24.360 --> 0:04:28.360 take care of the kids, we cook the dinner, we 0:04:28.400 --> 0:04:31.720 mow the lawn, we pay the bills. Most of our 0:04:31.800 --> 0:04:35.800 day is routine. We go to bed, get up in 0:04:35.839 --> 0:04:39.640 the morning, and do it all over again. But it 0:04:39.760 --> 0:04:43.320 is our job to not get sucked into that routine, 0:04:44.080 --> 0:04:48.799 but to cause our life to produce extraordinary in the routine. 0:04:49.720 --> 0:04:54.640 You see, you were designed to produce extraordinary in the 0:04:54.760 --> 0:04:59.800 routines of life. Think about this just a minute. Anything 0:04:59.839 --> 0:05:02.880 they you do well, you have to do often, and 0:05:02.920 --> 0:05:06.919 it is called routine. So we have to know that 0:05:06.960 --> 0:05:09.920 when we're in the routine, we're in the difficulties, we're 0:05:09.960 --> 0:05:13.080 in the challenges, all the things that we all face, 0:05:13.640 --> 0:05:17.479 that there's extraordinary being produced because I believe when we 0:05:17.720 --> 0:05:21.920 understand that we're not average, and our challenges weren't here 0:05:22.200 --> 0:05:24.760 to make us suffer. They're here to bring something out 0:05:24.800 --> 0:05:27.920 of us. Our difficulties are here to bring something out 0:05:28.000 --> 0:05:31.320 of us. Our routine is here to bring something out 0:05:31.320 --> 0:05:35.080 of us. I think about all the years that I've 0:05:35.120 --> 0:05:39.120 loved my family. My children were born, I took care 0:05:39.160 --> 0:05:41.920 of them. I chased their diapers, I fed them, I 0:05:41.960 --> 0:05:45.040 gave them a bath, I taught them. I did everything 0:05:45.120 --> 0:05:48.120 I knew to do, day after day after day. I've 0:05:48.160 --> 0:05:50.719 tried to be a good helpmate to my husband. I 0:05:50.800 --> 0:05:53.760 make sure he gets what he likes. I cook him dinner, 0:05:54.040 --> 0:05:57.320 I tell him what to do, I give in vitamins. 0:05:59.279 --> 0:06:04.080 I do very best, even when they don't appreciate it 0:06:04.880 --> 0:06:09.200 day in and day out. But can I tell you, 0:06:09.720 --> 0:06:13.400 even when they don't appreciate it, and even when it's difficult, 0:06:14.640 --> 0:06:16.719 do you know what the routine has done for me? 0:06:17.839 --> 0:06:23.320 It's given me extraordinary? It is my extraordinary? What is 0:06:23.360 --> 0:06:27.960 your extraordinary? I can see my life because I was 0:06:28.320 --> 0:06:33.080 routine and faithful with what God gave me. I now 0:06:33.360 --> 0:06:37.560 have extraordinary in my life. I think about challenges and 0:06:37.640 --> 0:06:41.000 difficulties I faced. Many times I think I just want 0:06:41.000 --> 0:06:44.240 to quit. Is this even worth it? Is it even matter? 0:06:45.240 --> 0:06:49.240 But I have learned when I've pressed through day after 0:06:49.360 --> 0:06:56.000 day those challenges, day after day, it produced extraordinary lessons 0:06:56.040 --> 0:07:00.240 in my life. Listen, when you are faithful with what 0:07:00.320 --> 0:07:03.000 God has placed in your hand, and you don't allow 0:07:03.040 --> 0:07:06.479 it to become mundane and ordinary and give it just 0:07:06.800 --> 0:07:09.000 half of what you could give it, you know what 0:07:09.040 --> 0:07:13.160 you're doing. You're creating extraordinary. You're creating something to talk 0:07:13.200 --> 0:07:17.640 about tomorrow. You see, sometimes it's not always easy to 0:07:17.680 --> 0:07:20.360 talk about it, but if you'll stick with it, you'll 0:07:20.360 --> 0:07:24.080 have something to talk about. You'll have something to be 0:07:24.280 --> 0:07:27.880 proud of. So even in the difficult times, I want 0:07:27.880 --> 0:07:33.400 to encourage you to stay faithful. God is preparing you. 0:07:33.400 --> 0:07:36.400 You are passing the tests. He wants to give you 0:07:36.560 --> 0:07:42.000 greater opportunity, greater life, a greater a destiny. So we 0:07:42.080 --> 0:07:45.200 want to just live with purpose because I know how 0:07:45.240 --> 0:07:48.240 it feels. I'm preaching to myself today. I have to 0:07:48.240 --> 0:07:49.680 get up in the morning and I have to say 0:07:49.760 --> 0:07:53.240 today is a good day. I've got good things in 0:07:53.280 --> 0:07:56.120 front of me. You know what you say to yourself, 0:07:56.160 --> 0:07:58.520 the moment you get up is gonna set the tone 0:07:58.560 --> 0:08:01.800 for your life. You gotta get this down in your heart, 0:08:02.320 --> 0:08:05.080 even when it's difficult, no matter what's going on on 0:08:05.120 --> 0:08:10.520 the other side of that difficulty is extraordinary. You can 0:08:10.600 --> 0:08:13.960 all say with me today, I have seen the extraordinary. 0:08:14.520 --> 0:08:18.640 You're right, it was worth putting my effort into even 0:08:18.680 --> 0:08:21.640 when I didn't see where the routine was taking me. 0:08:22.160 --> 0:08:26.080 I now see this extraordinary job I have. I now 0:08:26.120 --> 0:08:30.480 see this extraordinary family I have. I now see an 0:08:30.560 --> 0:08:34.000 extraordinary ministry that I have. You see, you may not 0:08:34.280 --> 0:08:36.560 see where it's taking you all the time, but it 0:08:36.600 --> 0:08:40.720 will lead you to extraordinary. When Joel's father was pastor 0:08:40.800 --> 0:08:43.679 of Lakewood Church in his latter years, I would come 0:08:43.720 --> 0:08:46.640 and get him and take him to church. I'll remember 0:08:46.679 --> 0:08:49.040 one time we were in the bag getting ready for church, 0:08:49.080 --> 0:08:51.079 and he had a woman who did his hair and 0:08:51.160 --> 0:08:55.120 his makeup for television because we would broadcast the Sunday services. 0:08:55.400 --> 0:08:57.800 And when I was back there one morning, this young 0:08:57.880 --> 0:09:00.320 lady that did his hair looked at him. He said, 0:09:00.320 --> 0:09:03.439 Pastor Ostin, I have to tell you some news she said, 0:09:03.679 --> 0:09:07.000 my husband is being transferred to another state for his job, 0:09:07.400 --> 0:09:09.200 and she said, this is going to be the last 0:09:09.200 --> 0:09:10.640 time that I'm going to be able to do your 0:09:10.640 --> 0:09:13.520 hair and makeup. She said, I'm so sorry this came 0:09:13.600 --> 0:09:15.920 so quickly, but this is one of those things where 0:09:15.960 --> 0:09:18.679 I just have to go. And I remember him just 0:09:18.760 --> 0:09:20.680 kind of sitting there. He was looking at her, and 0:09:20.720 --> 0:09:22.559 I could just see a thousand things going on in 0:09:22.640 --> 0:09:25.400 his head, and he didn't know what to say. So 0:09:25.480 --> 0:09:30.920 he looked at me and he said, well, Victoria, he said, 0:09:31.240 --> 0:09:36.520 can you do my hair for TV on Sundays? I thought, 0:09:36.600 --> 0:09:40.160 I don't have a cosmetology license, I'm not trained in this. 0:09:41.040 --> 0:09:43.280 Then the next thing I know, they're both looking at me. 0:09:44.040 --> 0:09:46.880 So I quickly just said, sure, I'll do it if 0:09:46.880 --> 0:09:50.320 you trust me. Well, little did they know. I had 0:09:50.400 --> 0:09:53.800 a little experience when I was in junior high school. 0:09:53.840 --> 0:09:55.720 I used to cut some of my friend's hair and 0:09:56.280 --> 0:10:00.959 attempt at highlighting. But that day I was given a promotion. 0:10:02.120 --> 0:10:06.199 I was now the hair solace for John Osting Layfood 0:10:06.240 --> 0:10:12.679 TV television productions. My family, a lot of my mother's 0:10:12.679 --> 0:10:15.240 side of the family lives in Georgia and they were 0:10:15.280 --> 0:10:18.720 preparing a family reunion, and they had made plans, got 0:10:18.720 --> 0:10:21.960 in hotels, got in locations. They'd put a lot of 0:10:22.000 --> 0:10:24.360 work into it. And they called me up and they 0:10:24.360 --> 0:10:26.160 gave me the date and they said, listen, we're gonna 0:10:26.160 --> 0:10:28.600 have the best family reunion. You got to be there. 0:10:28.679 --> 0:10:31.520 This is the date. So I checked the date and 0:10:31.559 --> 0:10:34.560 it fell on a weekend, and I said, look, guys, 0:10:34.679 --> 0:10:37.400 I can't come on the weekend. I have to do 0:10:37.480 --> 0:10:42.600 my father in lost hair. And they were like so disappointed. 0:10:42.600 --> 0:10:45.480 They were like, what, you can't come and we've done 0:10:45.559 --> 0:10:49.080 all this planning, And I said, no, I'm committed. We 0:10:49.280 --> 0:10:51.320 tape on Sunday and I have to pick him up 0:10:51.320 --> 0:10:53.080 and I have to bring to the church. I have 0:10:53.200 --> 0:10:53.839 to do his hair. 0:10:54.440 --> 0:10:54.800 Well. 0:10:55.400 --> 0:10:58.800 Later on I got word that they were talking about me. 0:10:59.360 --> 0:11:02.640 I found out that they didn't think my job was 0:11:02.760 --> 0:11:06.640 very important. And they said, I can't believe that's all 0:11:06.800 --> 0:11:10.440 she does in the ministry. I think she should be 0:11:10.480 --> 0:11:15.120 doing more. You know, they weren't trying to be mean. 0:11:15.679 --> 0:11:20.439 They just thought my job description should be different. Well, 0:11:20.480 --> 0:11:22.560 you know what. That hurt my feelings and I got 0:11:22.559 --> 0:11:24.800 to thinking about it, and I got a little discouraged 0:11:24.840 --> 0:11:28.160 about it. But then I made a decision. I thought, 0:11:28.200 --> 0:11:31.400 you know what, I'm gonna let that go because deep 0:11:31.440 --> 0:11:34.360 down on the inside of me, I hear be faithful 0:11:34.360 --> 0:11:37.280 in the small, be faithful in the small, Just be 0:11:37.400 --> 0:11:41.560 faithful in the small. So I let that go, and 0:11:41.640 --> 0:11:45.000 I decided to be the best TV production hair person 0:11:45.240 --> 0:11:51.120 there has ever been. So for several years, I'd picked 0:11:51.120 --> 0:11:53.360 my father in law up, bring him to the church, 0:11:53.640 --> 0:11:57.960 and get him TV ready. I was committed to that job. 0:11:58.200 --> 0:12:02.480 I was faithful in routine of all those Sunday mornings, 0:12:02.760 --> 0:12:06.040 all those weekends. I didn't realize that I was building 0:12:06.120 --> 0:12:11.360 extraordinary into my life. You see, I believe it built 0:12:11.600 --> 0:12:15.200 commitment in my life. I believe that it was doing 0:12:15.240 --> 0:12:18.560 a work in me. It was causing me to be 0:12:18.600 --> 0:12:23.360 able to understand the ministry life, giving me vision. It 0:12:23.440 --> 0:12:26.800 was showing me what it took to do this job. 0:12:27.280 --> 0:12:30.560 And I believe just through those years of what some 0:12:30.600 --> 0:12:33.840 people may not have thought was important, God did think 0:12:33.880 --> 0:12:38.560 it was important. It was building extraordinary in me, and 0:12:38.679 --> 0:12:41.680 I believe that I can do what I'm doing today. 0:12:42.120 --> 0:12:44.840 I can be with my husband and help him push 0:12:44.920 --> 0:12:48.720 this ministry forward because of the commitment and the faithfulness 0:12:48.960 --> 0:12:51.760 that I showed then. You see, in many ways it 0:12:51.800 --> 0:12:58.000 prepared me. So I want to encourage you today. Don't 0:12:58.080 --> 0:13:04.480 let the definition of someone else the success, determine your future. See, 0:13:04.520 --> 0:13:07.439 someone might not think what you're doing is very important. 0:13:08.080 --> 0:13:12.240 They may look down on it. They may not realize 0:13:12.400 --> 0:13:15.920 what God is doing in your life. He is preparing 0:13:16.000 --> 0:13:21.920 you for greater opportunity. You See, because someone doesn't see 0:13:21.920 --> 0:13:24.600 what you're doing doesn't mean that God doesn't see what 0:13:24.640 --> 0:13:27.920 you're doing. Just because they don't think it's important doesn't 0:13:27.960 --> 0:13:31.200 mean God doesn't think it's important. And I'm telling you, 0:13:31.320 --> 0:13:36.160 God bless us faithfulness. We have to pass this faithfulness 0:13:36.200 --> 0:13:39.559 test if we're going to go on to greater things. 0:13:39.800 --> 0:13:42.800 You know, one thing that I realize that really can 0:13:42.880 --> 0:13:46.160 reduce this extraordinary life that God's given us down to 0:13:46.720 --> 0:13:51.120 ordinary is when we compare ourself. You know, we all 0:13:51.160 --> 0:13:54.760 know that social media these days can make your life 0:13:54.760 --> 0:13:58.439 feel like it's going nowhere. You look at these vacations, 0:13:58.480 --> 0:14:00.920 you look at all the stuff, these people doing their 0:14:01.080 --> 0:14:04.400 highlight reel, and you think, man, my life is just 0:14:04.640 --> 0:14:07.920 ordinary routine. I go to work, I come home. I 0:14:08.000 --> 0:14:10.600 go to work, I come home. When do they have 0:14:10.640 --> 0:14:13.600 time to do all this stuff. Well, little do we 0:14:13.960 --> 0:14:17.080 realize it took them twenty nine tries just to get 0:14:17.080 --> 0:14:22.160 that picture right, and then after they filtered it, corrected it, 0:14:22.600 --> 0:14:26.960 worked through it, then it was perfect. We know this, 0:14:27.040 --> 0:14:31.360 don't we We cannot fall into the trap of comparing 0:14:31.440 --> 0:14:36.680 ourself because we're originals, we're masterpieces. We're one of a kind. 0:14:37.040 --> 0:14:41.400 The assignments that you're called to do are distinct to 0:14:41.520 --> 0:14:46.600 your calling. You fit your destiny. No one else can 0:14:46.680 --> 0:14:50.120 do what you've been called to do. Don't shrink your 0:14:50.160 --> 0:14:54.480 life down to mundane an ordinary. Stir up the gifts 0:14:54.520 --> 0:14:57.080 of God within you. What do you have in your 0:14:57.160 --> 0:15:01.440 hand that is going to be your extraordinary to? I 0:15:01.640 --> 0:15:05.320 encourage you, just like I encourage myself. God is a 0:15:05.400 --> 0:15:10.280 faithful God. Give it your all. Be your best every day.
