Father's Day Message: Reclaiming Fatherhood: Identity and Stability Speaker: Aaron Peterson 06/19/2022 Sunday Service: 9:00 am The word “Father” has been heavy with symbol, cultural expectation, and- for some- trauma and neglect. There is a healthy vision of Fatherhood perfect represented in the person of Jesus. In the American Church we’ve boiled down the sacred role of “father” to provider and protector. This simplistic view undermines the real call to fatherhood. This thought process has been used to empower a vision of masculinity that is distant, cold, and volatile- totally unlike Christ.
