About this sermon

Why isn't everyone healed? Where does faith to be healed come from? Kathryn Kuhlman talks about these issues and more as she discusses faith and healing. If you want to go deeper into this topic you can check out this Kathryn Kuhlman You Tube playlist on healing https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSMOPSA4R5IBcnxaS6f5fFRYzRoYfCnM1&si=xxo9rG2PHODMEuKx This talk was put out two times once on 1/11/77 and then again on 10/4/79. The original title of the talk may have been "who gets healed at miracle services?" This show has helped me to become more like Jesus and I am sure it can do the same for you. The podcast never has any AI and rarely has music or commentary.. I give a short introduction sometimes but Kathryn's talks are unchanged. Take care and God bless.

And frankly, that stream, two different streams in Catherine's ministry was strong. Her radio broadcasts were very Bible based. And she came from a denominational background and very Bible based and was not necessarily. the more flamboyant person that she was at the end. Yes, she had that, but also she had decades of Bible study underneath. So it's kind of symbolic. You know, David Roselli kept up with the Bible stuff, and Pen Pen went the more flamboyant healing ministry. You kind of see both of those streams here in the 70s. Anyway, welcome to the... New people in the podcast, people from Vietnam, people from South Africa, people from San Pedro Sulu in Honduras. And I just want to let you know that you can download these podcasts for free and feel free to share them freely. If that means you put them up on your own podcast, that's fine. If that means you put Vietnamese subtitles on them. and put them up on YouTube or a different place, that's fine. Feel free to share them. Please don't make money off them. And please don't mix it with artificial intelligence. Today's talk is really excellent. So I'll give you Catherine. All right, be good. Take care. Bye -bye. The Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation, a religious non -profit organization, is proud to bring you the following 30 -minute broadcast. During the ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman, her heart -to -heart talks were an inspiration and blessing to thousands of people, and we're pleased that many of her sermons, preached under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, were recorded on tape. The message you will hear today was taken from one of these pre -recorded tapes. As a result of the many requests for copies of the daily radio messages, we are now offering cassette tapes to our listeners. Be sure to give us the dates of the programs when sending us your request. And don't forget there's enough time for two programs on each one -hour cassette tape. Please send your request with a contribution to cover production costs, and of course we'll be happy to put a cassette in the mail for you immediately. The Katherine Kuhlman Foundation is continuing the miracle services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and we invite you to attend the next service scheduled for a Thursday evening, October 11th, at Soldiers and Sailors Auditorium in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. The doors will open at 6 p .m., and Benny Hinn will begin the service promptly at 7 o 'clock. If you're looking to God for healing, for a special need in your life, for His direction and guidance, come to this service in faith. We'll pray with you. for a miracle. Remember the date, Thursday evening, October 11th, in Pittsburgh's Soldiers and Sailors Auditorium. We've been discussing something that has been on the minds of, I dare say, hundreds of people. You sit here and you listen to the testimony of those who've been wonderfully healed by the power of God. But let's face reality. Let's face facts. There are those who are not healed. And yet, in spite of the manifestation of God's power, in spite of the moving of the Holy Spirit, there will be those who will leave that service not healed. The answer is why. And I'll be dead honest with you. I do not have the answer. I'll be perfectly frank. I do not know. And I'm afraid of those who claim that they know. For only God knows. And who can fathom the mind of God? Where is the man or the woman living today understand God's reasoning. I mean exactly that. When we were discussing this the last time I was with you, I reminded you that there are times when folks sitting in a great miracle service who are so enthralled with what is happening in the service. They get so interested. Oh, they come for their own healing. But they get so interested in that which is happening around about them, they forget themselves. And in that moment, they suddenly realize that something is happening to them. And they realize that they have just been healed. Not at that precise moment when they were praying for healing, but when they were praying for someone else, or when they were rejoicing over the miracles that they were seeing taking place. This was exactly what happened in the case of Eugenia Sanderson. Although she had been praying, believing, yet when she... began rejoicing in the healing of other folk, she received her first touch from the master. But then there are others like Fred Brick. Skeptics, hard -boiled, unbelievers when it comes to miracles, yet they too are often healed. Then I think of dear tiny poor who was healed without even getting into the service. While there are many like Mrs. Romanosky who are healed on the way to the service. Or like Kenneth May, who are healed while waiting for the doors to open. I can prove to you that I have nothing to do with these miracles of healing. When people are healed coming to the service, others are healed going home from the service. There are those healed on the outside. of the auditorium. Freda Longstaff was healed in her home. Nick Cadena left the service shaking his head, not realizing that the Holy Spirit had gone to work in his life and would eventually heal both body and soul. And who can figure out what happened to little Bobby Sue Smith? Or Mary Pettigrew? There's no understanding. You cannot understand the mind and the ways of God. It's beyond our understanding. Yeah? And yet, there are those who will be so sure that they have all the faith in the world. And yet, They leave the service in the same condition they were when they came. Why? We know one thing. We know that God cannot lie. We know that we can stake our very life on this, says the Lord. And we know from God's word that faith, the weight of a grain of mustard seed, will do more than a ton of wheel. or a mind of determination. The faith that Jesus talked about can no more manifest itself without result than the sun can shine without light and heat. But in many instances, people have mistaken their own ability to believe for the faith which only God can give. I cannot emphasize too strongly one thing, and that is the fact that faith is not a condition of the mind. It is a divinely imparted grace to the heart. I just paused a minute so that some of you would get your breath. No. Faith is not a condition of the mind. You know, our emotions and desires are often mistaken for faith. And it's so easy to blame God. when there are no results from something that has been purely of the mind and not of the heart. Sure, we get so involved with emotions and our desires are so great that very often we mistake these things for faith. And then when nothing happens, when we do not receive the desire of our heart, when we do not receive the healing for our body, we blame God because there are no results. And yet we'll declare that we have all the faith in the world when really it was only a condition of the mind. It was our emotions and not the faith that Jesus talked about. One of the most difficult things in the world is to realize that faith can be received only as it is imparted to the heart by God himself. It cannot be manufactured. No matter how much we cultivate that spirit that the world interprets as faith, it will never grow into the type of faith that was introduced by Jesus. Consider something for just a moment. When we come to our salvation, it is still a matter of faith. And again, he gives us his faith to believe. We couldn't believe unto salvation if he did not give us his faith to believe. The scripture says, as many as receive him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them which believe on his name. And the same Holy Spirit who convicts the sinner of his sin will see to it that as a sinner, He was given enough conviction to convince him of his sin and so he will now be given faith enough to convince him of his salvation. But no man in himself possesses that faith. It is given him by the same one who gives the faith for our physical healing. How do I know? that this is true? How can I substantiate that which I've just now said? How can I back up my statement with the Word of God? And the Word says, the author and finisher of our faith. Who is the author of our faith? Who is the finisher of our faith? Who is our faith? none other than the person of Jesus Christ. You know something? I am distressed over something, and that is the fact that we're getting away from the Word of God. And so many of our spiritual leaders are getting away from the Word of God. And it's the easiest thing in the world. It's the simplest thing in the world. To get away from the Word. We get ideas. Are we going to try something? Are we going to inject something into the ministry that has never been there before? We need to come back again to the Word. I'm a stickler for the Bible. And by God's grace and power, I don't care what others do, I'm going to stay with the Word, the Word, the Holy Word of God. And the Bible teaches that the author and the finisher of our faith is a person, the person of Jesus Christ. With him, there is no struggle. How often in the miracle service I have seen conscientious people struggling, straining, demanding that God give them the healing for their body. And yet, there was no answer. How often I have listened to some people pray. They pray as though, God owes them something. They are demanding of him just as though they were on the doorstep of the next -door neighbor's house, demanding that their neighbor come out and pay his debt. We need to get back again We need to realize that God is a holy God. And he doesn't owe you and he doesn't owe me a debt. He doesn't owe us one single thing. We make God too common. I mean that. He becomes very commonplace. We get too familiar with him. He's still a holy god. One to be worshipped, one to be reverenced. Who are we, frail creatures of the dust? to come into his presence and demand him and order him to do something. I can readily understand why some people do not receive their healing, why they do not receive things from God. It's their attitude toward God. It's the way they pray. You know, one of the greatest secrets that I have learned through the years is that when I have realized my own helplessness and have acknowledged it to him that I have received some of the greatest manifestations of his power that I have ever experienced. Over and over again, after working all day long here in the radio studio, and then I'd leave the studio, I'd leave the office. To begin a service at 6 o 'clock Monday evening, and I am so weary because I've just had a big service on Sunday. Traveled many miles. Worked hard in the Sunday service. Having just finished another big miracle service on Friday. By Monday 6 o 'clock, I am really, when it comes... to the physical body. I'm whipped. The old physical body can just take so much. When I have looked up and said, dear Jesus, you've got to come through. If you don't come through, we're both sunk. I don't have it. I acknowledge, freely acknowledge my helplessness. I'm leaning on you completely. You're going to have to strengthen my body. You have to give me an anointing like I've never had before. Those are the times I've preached my best sermons. Those are the times when I've had the greatest anointing. When I've had to lean completely on him. Beloved, When you come into great miracle services, lean completely on him. Acknowledge to him your own helplessness. And I promise you, he will give you the desire of your heart.
