City of Refuge Andhra Pradesh, India

Okay. Hi, this is Dave from the Kathleen Kuhlman Radio Show and Podcast. And God bless you. I'm glad you're here. And this is our first live. So it's going to be like a little bit of a learning experience, a little bit in process. So bear with us and we'll have a little fun and do the very best we can. We've already prayed twice here, but I'm going to pray one more time just because you all are coming on. So, Lord, I just ask that you bless these people. Lord, this sucker's going out over the world tomorrow. So I bless the people in Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates. God bless you guys. And I'm so glad you're here. And amen. We're going to, this is my pastor, Pastor Daniel Bossidy, very meek man. He's been saved for 50 years and probably baptized with the Holy Spirit for 50 years. Yeah, about that. Amen. And this is Dan from Computer Heads. You can't see him. He's sitting right next to us. And Computer Heads in Torrington, I wanted to do this. They're very good. They're a Christian -run business. And long story short, tomorrow I'll put a link in the content. So he does remote work on your computer, and he's trustworthy and good. So thumbs up for him. Today we're going to focus in on a project, and I want to say it this way, that God is doing in Andhra Pradesh. This is not our church's project. This is not really a project that's too much with men, okay? It was started by God, and it's going forward by God. The object here is to give you the info, and you can pray. If you have the gift of giving, pay attention. This is a good place. Our church is a flow -through for funds to other places. Pastor and our church take zip, zero funds out of the money. for other places and other missions. And as you'll see, this is an extremely worthy cause. So if you have the gift of giving or if you want to get involved, if it touches your heart, then rock on. Do that. Okay. Pastor, how many times have you been to Andhra Pradesh? I've been there four times. The most recent was in January with my daughter Kelly. Oh, yeah. So she didn't want me to go alone anymore. She wanted to watch over me in the airport. But we had just the greatest trip. The pastor that we work with, the host pastor, Pastor Sadaraj, he goes into the mountains where nobody else goes. A lot of the people and the tribes that he meets up with are illiterate. And for that reason, the government doesn't bother with them too much because they can't vote. So they don't really get anything out of them. But they're people. They're human. They feel what you feel. When they get hurt, they hurt just like you hurt. But all they need is help in hand. And some of those people are brilliant, but they're just not educated. found them through various contacts that he has. And some of the roads up the mountains are pretty hairy. I remember looking down one time out the window. There was about a 400 or 500 -foot drop. And they have to hire special drivers because you think some of the roads in America are potholed and kind of tough. Nothing like these roads. They look like they've been bombed out. Can we back up one second? How did Pastor Sadaraj, he's been ministering and doing evangelism. First of all, let's back up. Pastor Sadaraj is baptized with the Holy Spirit. Absolutely. And he'd been doing evangelists, but didn't at some point he stop and go into a cave? Well, he grew up Hindu. He was a hard Hindu. But what happened was somebody in his family got very, very sick. And a Christian came by. They prayed for this person. They got healed and caused him to start rethinking things. And so he had an experience with God. He started calling out to the Lord and he had an experience. Once he had that experience, he went up into the mountains and he found a cave, found himself a place. He was there for, I think he said, 20 or 21 days fasting and praying. And during that time, God gave him a vision. And part of it was he'd have a property. with an orphanage, a school, medical center, and a church on it. And this was over 20 years ago. Wow. So they've been holding on. They're very poor, but they've been holding on, and he knew God spoke to him. Well, he got mocked. Even his brothers and some of his family members mocked him and gave him a hard time. The community around him mocked him. Because there's no way. I mean, he was just so dirt poor. There's no way that they could do these buildings. Well, several years ago, about seven or eight years ago, my friend, Reverend George Teachman, got in touch with him somehow. I think it was through Facebook. He prayed about it, and the Lord said, go. So he went. Well, one day I'm sitting in a church office doing treasury work, and all of a sudden I got a phone call. And it was Reverend George Teachman. And he says, Pastor Bossidy, you've got to come to India. These people are so humble. They'll receive everything you have to say. And we pray for them and they're getting miracles. And you just got to come. So I prayed about it. And I was out in my backyard. I was taking the dog for his nightly walk. And I looked up to heaven. I said, Lord. Is this you? Is this what you want me to do? And immediately I thought of that account in the Bible, how the disciples were on the Sea of Galilee and the storm hit. Jesus is walking on the water. We all know the story. And they got afraid. And Peter said, Lord, if it's you, bid me to come out on the water. And the Lord said, come. Sometimes we look for God to give us a paragraph. you know a novel with all the details but he he only spoke to peter that one word come and at that moment i felt the holy spirit and i felt like he was saying come to me and it wasn't go and i'll see you when you get back you know it was come because i'm already there and uh that settled it you know god speaks to you when you have a peace that passes all understanding i didn't have any money I didn't know how I was going to get there, but I just knew God spoke. And probably the least of it was raising funds because if God sends you somewhere, he's going to provide. So that all got taken care of. The church did some fundraisers, helped me out a lot. So I wasn't going on my own. I was representing the people of the church. And so anyways, we get there. And as soon as I met that family. They met me at the airport. I felt like I was home. I felt like I had met my family in a far country. Didn't understand a word they said. A lot of people, they say, for example, speaking in tongues is gibberish. Well, you know, Telugu is gibberish to me. I didn't understand a word of it. So I needed an interpreter. And they were just great. The pastor's daughter interpreted for me, and she was excellent. So that's how that started. I decided at the end of that first trip, I told him, I don't have much money, but I've got to start supporting you. So he had an orphanage. He was renting a little apartment in the city, and there was about 20 children. Oh, I remember. And it was a small apartment, but they didn't have money really to feed them. So I made an executive decision and got myself involved. I don't know. I stuck my neck out. But when I got back, I talked to the board, and they were all for it. They said, yes, we've got to do this. We've got to help them. And it progressed from there. the project because I told them about his vision. And so our church raised funds. We had some outsiders send money in. So we were able to build that orphanage and we were able to build that school. We were able to build that medical center. And now we're working on building a church building that'll seat 5 ,000 people. So, and I know that's coming in. We've got the foundation in. We've got some of the pillars that will hold up the roof. It's going to have a balcony. There's going to be about, see, in India, they just sit on the floor. They don't have pews. So they can fit a lot of people in there, you know. So, yeah, so that's how that started. And every single time I've gone, he's introduced us to new tribes that they find. They go everywhere. um tirelessly i i marvel he has because uh somebody asked me the other day how old is he i said well he's in his 40s oh okay sometimes i can just barely get out of bed you know but but he's go go going and uh but he's finding people and um he and a lot of times he himself is sick he himself has issues physical issues but god um through all of that has reached these people there's utterly thousands and thousands of people that are being affected in that area and um so i don't know if you wanted to talk about the children that they found recently. Yeah, we should go to the slideshows, but I want to remember that I want to talk about the village pastors, and then he has, we sometimes support the village pastors, and they come down, but maybe we can come back to that. It's probably good. Dan's wise. He's saying, let's get on with the show. Let's get on with the show. Listen, here's going to be the slideshow. We're going to see. The first couple slides, we'll tell you about them, but it's going to be about the outlying villages. How far from the city of Refuge is this? How far is it traveling? I'm not exactly sure. I just know it takes hours to get there. Dan's wise. We've got to hit the button. All right, we're going to hit the button. This is Pastor Sadaraj traveling. Oh, we've got to do this. Are we good? That's okay. Yeah, we're good. Okay. This is... Pastor Sadaraj, when he was bringing teams out to do evangelism, and I think, answer me this question, is Pastor Sadaraj's team well organized? I mean, does he have people under him that are servants and that have positions? Yeah, it's not a fly -by -night group. No, no, no, it's not. I believe these are some of the mountain pastors. I'm not positive. But I'm pretty sure there are some of the mountain pastors. And as you can see in the background, the mountains and people live up in there. That's where the Bengal tigers hang out. Thankfully, we didn't see any. So the pastors will come down to Pastor Sadaraj for support and conferences. Yeah, once a month. Matter of fact, yesterday they had a pastor's conference. They were able to give them some small megaphones. Which is... Oh, huge. Yeah, huge on the mountains. Yeah. Because people, you know, they're coming out of their huts. In a little while, you'll see another picture of some of the huts, which is... Okay, yeah, we'll see. We'll go to the next slide. This is just more people traveling to the... They even have a lot of the women travel with them, which, you know... Some of the guys, they'd be working, so the church itself makes up for that. And these women, a lot of times they bring their children with them. That's Pastor Sataraj. In the ultimate view of going to seek the lost, crossing streams in the mountain. That's cool. And this I just thought was funny. You know, they're going all any way they can. This is the name of their ministry, Jesus, Grace, Faith, and it says Tribal Gospel. Whoops. Oh, thank you. This is, wow, what a beautiful picture. You see the mountains in the background there, and then Pastor Sadaraj with the white shirt, and then the village. And these are the poor villages. Do they have wells? Most of them don't. No. We have several, but most villages don't. And I think the next slide is a video that will show you a close -up of one of the villages. I think this is one of the most recent villages. Correct me if I'm wrong. As you notice, it's really low to the ground. What happens is when they get into the rainy season, the walls are made of mud. And so when it rains, the walls just dissolve. So they have to rebuild their huts all the time. Maybe hit it one more time so you can see that. Yeah, they have to rebuild them. But we were allowed to go into a couple of them, and it's really low. Thank you. For the most part, it's like maybe one, maybe two rooms. And they share it with their families, however many people are in their family. Okay. That's faster side arrangements than children. All right. And these are the people we're trying to help. The kids that live up in the mountains. And they really need a little help. Let me backtrack. You can have a ministry. You can have a World Vision. You can have a Compassion International, a Gospel for Asia. You can have Feed the Poor, that kind of thing. But if you don't have the Lord, it's not going to be worth it. I mean, it's good to do it. And I have too. And we all have, I'm sure. But you need the Lord and you need the Bible. Not only that, you need the Holy Spirit. People need to be spirit -led and then things will happen. And so with Pastor Sadaraj, you get, try not to make this too much like an advertisement, but you get both. Okay. Let me see. Go back to it? No, forward. There's a whole bunch of slots. Okay. And there's the farmers in the village. Again, these are the people we serve. Just beautiful, darling children. And it's not necessarily we. We give. Pastor Sadaraj is really doing the work. And our church, correct me if I'm wrong, our church doesn't have any doctrinal or very few administrative sayings. It's their project. It's theirs. We're just supporting. Although he wants us to take it over, but I don't live there. Exactly. If we can put tools into his hands, he can go. And he is going. Their ministry was very stagnant until God allowed us to become involved. And he said from that time on, they've been going everywhere. Amen. And it's kind of like Gospel for Asia where you've got native missionaries, and those guys know the culture. Those guys know what they're doing. So it's best. I think so. Yeah, absolutely. Okie dokie. We're going to run into a lot of pictures of the kids here. This is where he used to go up and hold gospel meetings. And this is just, you can see the villages in the background. And when they held gospel meetings, they always fed the people. And that's how he makes friends with them, because he's an outsider to an enclosed village. And so he comes in and brings clothes and brings food, right? Right. And then endears them. Again, just the kids listening about Jesus. I love this little kid. He looks like he's already worshiping. But just the kids. And this is what it's about. As far as I'm concerned, there is a big church to be built, and it's important. For the city, it's important. And we're building it for how many people? 5 ,000. 5 ,000. That's a serious venture and a serious ministry. But for me, this is the action. Gotta love the kids. And we do both. Yeah. The lady in the middle is his wife, Sister Grace. She's just a wonderful person. Amen. Just some more pictures of the kids. Precious kids. You know, there's so many places, so many villages that he goes to. I'm not always sure exactly which ones for a particular picture. But there's thousands of children just like that little one there. Tell me, please. We'll get to this story later. Go ahead, please. Pastor Sadaraj with the kids. Is this the village that you reached where the kids were not being allowed to be kids, but were going to the brick kiln at a very young age and working on the railroads at a very young age, or is this a different one? I'm not sure. Tell that story. I'm not sure about that, but recently, about two months ago, um somehow we got in touch with this this tribe up in the mountains and many of the adults were sick so they they couldn't work so they ended up selling their children out to labor some in the brick kiln areas and some on the railroad well he he went up and started talking to the parents and told them you know what we have at the city of refuge that there is a school there, there is an orphanage there, there's a medical center there. He wanted to bring them down to the mountain to, first of all, feed them. I mean, the kids were starving. Feed them, give them new clothes, wash them up. A lot of them had lice and stuff like that, so they had to cut their hair. So anyways, he cleaned them up, gave them new clothes. When I saw that, I was wondering about that, with the very short hair that he had due to lice. Yeah. Wow. Okay. And they have some teachers there to educate the children. Just the simple basics of life. So the parents said yes. And so he's been doing that for about a month. However, it's very expensive. I think it's like $18 it costs per child. Right now they're taking care of 60 children. So that's a month, $18 a month. So, you know, you can do the math. So it does add up, and they do have to pay the teachers. I mean, they've got to live, too. You know, these teachers, you know, where would we be without them? Right, right. But so it's so worthwhile. And so the teachers aren't getting a salary right now? Well, very little. Very little. Okay, yeah, then we need to hopefully take care of them, too. Yeah, so... That's really why I would want to push for any financial help. Not for Russ, but it would be to help them. Absolutely. So having said that, this last trip in January, my daughter, she's a Sunday school teacher here. She was conducting. We were told that there was going to be 200 children at one particular meeting. Well, 600 children showed up. We have a picture of that. So they had bought enough to give the children a present to take back to their home. So when they saw how many children were showing up, earlier when you saw that little... They call them autos, but it's like a motorcycle with a big seat on the back. And they're all over the place in India. So they kept coming, bringing children down the mountain. So the pastor's son -in -law had to run into the city and buy whatever he could for 400 more children. So he ended up getting some sort of Tupperware thing. And come to find out, they all shared anyways. The boxes of presents they had had toothpaste and toothbrushes and I think some soap and washcloth. And they were just thrilled. And a little game. So all the kids wanted those, but we were running out pretty quick. But they end up, they share everything. But that was such an excellent, excellent time. we'll go back to the pictures cool and it shows the potential like if you wanted 200 kids and 600 showed up yeah well i think we can go forward because we'll actually run into that conference picture further on down the road yeah more of the kids there'll be about four or five more of the kids and uh here and then you you guys came from the brought the kids to the city of refuge and the next three slides will be about kids coming from the um from the villages and bringing them into the city of refuge for the first time the man in the green is reverend george teachman yes that's important to see because he visits this work these works he travels all over the world um and um he's It's a wonderful thing. How long have you known him? Oh, 50 years. Yeah, he's known him 50 years, and he visits all these sites to check up on the work. So it's not like we're writing a check, and we don't really know what's going down. Because you visited four times, and Reverend Teachman visited how many times? Oh, I don't know. He's like 10, 15 times he's been there. You guys are Catherine Kuhlman people, okay? You believe in miracles. You believe in the Holy Spirit. Reverend Teachman is wonderful. You can find him on Facebook, and maybe we'll be able to interview him here. But he has a healing worldwide evangelist ministry, and it's really just very few people. And he's doing a wonderful, wonderful work, and he really enters in. Let's see what I've got for next. And this is you guys entering the city of refuge. And that's Kelly right there, the blonde here. And the kids, they were throwing flower petals, so that's what you see in his hair. Every time we turn around, somebody was throwing flowers. Okay. And now this is going into the school building? Yeah, that's the school. That little building on the left, that's where the medical center is. Oh, the medical center is there. Excellent. I didn't know that. All right. Thank you. And there's some of the children. I believe these children also are the ones that came down from the mountain. Amen. And now these guys get two good meals a day? Yeah. Praise God. Yeah. All right. Makes a difference. Yeah. Yeah. And this is a classroom here in the school, a little two -story building, and we'll show pictures later of how it was built. Here. There we go. This is the building. And these pastors here are village mountain pastors, I believe, that came down for a conference and they took a picture. But you can see while they're putting up the school. And 15 years, you guys are waiting on a vision, waiting on a word from the Lord. Hey, don't give up. Things are rocking. If it's a true word, the pastor says this all the time, if it's a true word from the Lord, it'll happen. You don't need to stress. It'll go down. Sorry. A lot of it is timing. You know, timing with God is real important. Because you may have a vision, but you're not in that place yet. No doubt. So there's a process that you have to go through. And sometimes it takes 15 years to get into that place where you can fulfill it. But God knows what he's doing. Yeah. So with this, they take the concrete, and they stick it on their heads, and they climb up the stairs, and then they dump it. It's all done by hand. So it takes a little while, but those buildings are so solid. It's incredible. Cool. And this is the finished product. This is school. Okay. There's the orphanage. And so we built the orphanage. We didn't build it. They built the dang orphanage. Yeah, we were a flow -through. The money came in, went right back out. Right? Yep. Right? And so we gave them some beds. And now, this little video here, you can see in the background is the orphanage. Is that correct? Yeah. And where is the medical? That's in a different part of the property. Okay, so that's the orphanage. And then we're going to see the school over here? This here, I believe, is his house. Oh, praise God, we didn't even mention it. We have put up the swing sets and stuff like that. So they love it. Yeah, the kids. You know, the kids got to be kids, you know? They got to have some fun. Amen, amen. So, but I believe this was part of the 600 that came that particular day. And also, oh yeah, expect 200 and 600 came. So there's a need, a great need. And also we gave them a well. Yeah, there's a well on the property, yeah. And also built Pastor Sadaraj. Pastor Sadaraj is poor himself. When you went there, he had never been to a restaurant. Is that correct? I don't know. Okay. I'm not sure. Okay. But he got a house. And we tried to love the people. We thought it would be important to have him living on the property. He did have a... place in the main church in the city and right next right next to it part of the building was where they lived so they had like two or three rooms that was it but we thought it was important for him to be on the property with the children so yeah the orphanage is there okay this is oops This is the conference, I think, where 600 showed up. Right. Awesome. I believe the kids that were in the front row there, I think they're the ones that came down, part of them came down that were just destitute. Cool. There's another slide. This one here, I just inserted this to get a little feeling from Pastor Sadaraj's ministry. It's pretty big, okay? He's ministering in front of large crowds. And this is the pastors that come down for the pastor conference. I don't think he's setting up a denomination. I mean, these dudes are probably separate. Yeah, I'm not sure. Okay. They're from all walks of life. Okay. And then I think we just have one more, a couple more slides. Just Pastor Sadaraj baptizing, baptizing people. And sometimes he goes down to the Bay of Bengal, I believe, to do that also. And there may be one more or we may be done. Oh, this is the Bay of Bengal. If there's water, he'll baptize them anywhere. A couple of years ago, there was a baptism. And there was some water buffalo in the place they wanted to baptize people. We had to go somewhere else. Water buffalo, you don't want to mess with them. Hi, I'm Marina. God bless you. And listen, if there's any prayer requests, it's hard to know if there's people listening and we were a little bit late. And it's our first one. If there's any prayer requests, please go ahead and answer them. And pastors, anything else you'd like to talk about? There's a lot you could say about India. They're just wonderful people. The people are just wonderful. Very, very smart. They just need a little help in hand. So that's how I feel. Our part in this whole thing is we're just being a helping hand to get them to be self -sufficient. That's our whole goal is to get them self -sufficient. It's interesting because they think that we here in America are heaven on earth. And so they see themselves as less. And one of the things that I tried to... expressed to them was that we all have a heavenly father and therefore we're his sons and daughters. So we're all equal in God's eyes. An Indian person is not less than an American person. So we, you know, that mindset has to change. And I understand, you know, you can see it in the Bible. with israel they came out of egypt after 400 years and they still had the mindset of a slave you know when things got tough they wanted to go back to egypt at least we had leaks and we had garlic and we had onions back there but moses you're bringing us out into this wilderness but they didn't realize that god was bringing them out so that they could go into a land that flowed with milk and honey that had huge fruit that had the blessings of God, that God watched over that land for them. And so sometimes we hold back and limit God to our experience. I'm limiting you, Lord. You can't go beyond who I am or what I am. But that's not true. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. You know, we have the victory through Christ. He is our righteousness. Some people have moral downfalls and they think that they can never excel or whatever, or whatever your situation is, physical, spiritual, emotional. But Jesus become our righteousness. He became our healing. He became our salvation. And when you begin to see that, put you in a whole different category it's like i try to explain uh my my two daughters they didn't do anything to earn my love and favor they're just my daughters i love them you know they can go into my refrigerator just just don't take my my grapes that are in there but anything else you could have but you know and that's the same with god You may be looking up to somebody and thinking they're so much farther down the road than you, but God has just as much love for one as another. God has just as much care for you as he does for somebody else. And sometimes you need to look at him like... He's your Heavenly Father who sees you, who understands your thoughts afar off. He feels what you feel. The Bible says he was afflicted in all your afflictions. He's with you. He hasn't forsaken you. He's been with you, and he'll be with you in every situation that you go through, which I'm just so thrilled about. Amen. I'm just so glad to be a part of the kingdom. Amen. I want to talk about your Bible study method, which is to get into the Spirit. I can't, we can't really do it now. I see Dan. He's like, oh, my God. I'm hungry. Dan has been great. I do want to just read one verse of Scripture, and it's not me. It's Jesus speaking from Matthew 25. It says, when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and this is the bottom line. Bottom line is we're all going to face the Lord one day, and we're going to stand before him. And if we're Christians, we're still going to stand before him and be judged for our actions. And so here's Matthew 25. When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd. divides his sheep from from the goats and he will set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left then the king will say to those on his right hand come ye blessed of my father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world for i was hungry and you gave me food i was thirsty and you gave me drink i was a stranger and you took me in I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you a drink? Okay, thank you. When did you see a stranger and take you in? When did we see you a stranger and take you in? or naked and clothe you? Or when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you? And the king will answer and say to them assuredly, I say to you, and as much as you did it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you did it unto me. Sorry. It's important. You guys know what emotional mess, it's okay. It's important that we work now so that we can stand before the Lord and have him say, well done, good and faithful servant. I'm going to read the rest of this passage. Where was I? Thank you. Dan helps a lot. Then he will also say those on the left. Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink. I was a stranger and you did not take me in. Naked and you did not clothe me. Sick in prison and you did not visit me. Then they also will answer him saying, Lord. When did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you? Then he will answer them saying assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me. And these will go into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. I had this over and over the past couple weeks. And not my words. Not my words. God bless you guys.
