Today, you and I are going to have probably one of the most earnest heart -to -heart talks we've ever had. And I'm going to ask you to just stop whatever you're doing right now. Sit down and listen very carefully. If you're washing dishes, just stop. Whatever you're doing. You'll understand why before I will have finished this little heart -to -heart talk. I've never discussed this thing with you. Never. And sometimes I feel that I stand almost alone in some of the things that are the conviction of my heart. And I almost feel that I stand alone in this thing that I want to discuss with you. And that is the fact whether or not Satan can heal. Is it possible for the devil to heal sick bodies? Let's discuss it. And everything that I say, I'll back up with the Word of God. as long as I have God's word as my authority, then I'm all right. But if I can't back it up with the word of God, then I'm all wrong. But until you can prove to me by the word of God that I am wrong in anything that I preach, If you can prove to me by the word of God today, after I will have finished this heart -to -heart talk that I am wrong, I'll apologize. Many things, of course, we just accept. Because somebody has written a book. Because there is a chapter in somebody's book on this very same thing. And they have given the impression that the devil has power to heal. I want you to know that it is my firm conviction, based on the Word of God, that the devil has no power to heal sick bodies. All healing is of God. All healing is divine. When a surgeon performs surgery, it's the divine power of God. that heals that incision. A doctor gives medication, but a doctor waits for the divine power of God to heal that body. It is my firm belief that all healing of the physical body is divine. The devil has no power whatsoever. All right. Now pause a moment. There never was sickness until sin came into the world. Sin and sickness go hand in hand. There never was sin until Lucifer. one of the three most beautiful angels that God ever created, became jealous of the Most High God and began to ascend into heaven and said, I will be like unto the Most High. And in that moment, something happened to that one who had been created a creature of... God's creation, and that which was once one of the most beautiful angels of God's great creation, became what is known today as the devil, Satan. And when sin came into the world, sickness also came. And the two have always gone hand in hand. That's the reason, beloved, in heaven there will be no sickness. There is no sickness now in heaven. There will be no sickness in heaven because there is no sin in heaven. Let me pause for just a minute. I want to make something very, very clear. And be sure you get it exactly as I said. Do not quote anything that I am saying in this heart -to -heart talk today unless you quote me correctly. If you do not understand what I'm saying, then forget you ever heard this broadcast. Forget it completely. If you're having to strain to get me on your... radio set, then you'd better just forget that you've heard this broadcast today. And if you're going to quote me, quote me exactly as I say things. I do not believe for one minute that you are sick because you have sinned. I did not say that. I believe that the meanest person in the whole world is somebody who will point an accusing finger at somebody else who is ill, who is sick, who is affected, and say, ha, ha, they deserve it. Ha, ha, it's because of sin in their life. I know some of the greatest saints that ever lived went through life with an affliction. Some of the greatest saints that ever lived. Never knew a perfectly well complete day of health in their life. Many a precious saint of God is suffering with affliction this very hour. Many a saint of God is sick this hour. But it's not because of sin in their lives. And nobody is immune to sickness. I'm very conscious of the fact. I am constantly conscious of the fact that my own body is not immune to sickness. The body of Catherine Coomany is not immune to sickness. Because I am a part of humanity. This is physical. This is still corruption. This is still mortal. I can have cancer just as quickly and easily as the person to whom I am speaking right now. My body can be crippled with arthritis just as quickly as someone to whom I am speaking to this very moment. I am human. I am a part of the human race. This is a physical body. This which is mortal has not yet put on immortality. And no human body will be immune to sickness until we get new bodies and stand in his glorious likeness. And it's just like that. I repeat, I do not believe that that one is suffering from sickness. Because of sin in their lives. But what I am saying is the fact that if sin had never come into the world, there never would have been sickness. And sin and sickness go hand in hand. Now, can the devil heal? Is it possible for the devil to heal? It is my firm conviction that if the devil could heal a sick body, he would be working against himself. Let me give you a scripture. Turn, if you will, please, to the 12th chapter of Matthew, the 22nd verse. And there was brought unto him, that's unto Jesus, One possessed with the devil, blind and dumb, and he healed him insomuch that the blind and the dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed and said, Is not this the son of David? They witnessed this wonderful miracle of healing. Oh, they said, isn't this marvelous? Is not this the son of David? But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of devils. They said that which had just happened was of the devil. Mm -hmm. And... Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself. How shall then his kingdom stand? And if I, by Beelzebub, cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he shall spoil his house. He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. If sin and sickness go hand in hand, and sin came into the world, because Lucifer sinned to the sin of jealousy. And if sickness is a direct result of sin when Lucifer fell, then if the devil had the power to heal, it would be against his personality. That's exactly what Jesus was talking about. Exactly. If Satan cast out Satan, he's divided against himself. How then shall his kingdom stand? Now, watch. Don't stop there. Continue to read the next two verses. It's in the same chapter. It follows. And he continues, Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men. But the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. In other words, this is what Jesus is saying. That which you had just seen, this wonderful healing that has just taken place, the one possessed with the devil, blind and dumb, the one who has just been healed, in so much, that the blind and the dumb both spake and saw, this was done by the power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus did not say that he had done the healing. He is saying, in essence, this is the power of the Holy Ghost that has healed this one. And I believe it is the power of the Holy Ghost, the power of the Holy Spirit, the mighty third person of the Trinity who does the healing. I have a right to believe it. I can verify it. As it is reported in the 10th chapter of Acts, the 38th verse, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth. With the Holy Ghost and power. Jesus knew it was the power of the Holy Spirit who had healed that one. And when the Pharisees said, it was the devil who did the healing, Jesus rebuked them. And watch this rebuke. You are on dangerous ground when you attribute the work of the Holy Ghost to the work of Satan. I warn you. I give you the word of God. I say this because I love you personally. Anything that you might say... is no threat to God or the power of God. Know that. I warn you because I love you personally and for the sake of your own soul. The sin for which there is no forgiveness is not against Jesus Christ the Son. The sin for which there is no forgiveness on this earth or in the world to come, is not against God the Father. But the sin for which there is absolutely no forgiveness, the unpardonable sin is against the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Trinity. I think, very frankly, it makes me tremble. It really makes me tremble, and I'll tell you exactly why. It's because it shows to us the importance of this personality, this personality that tens of thousands of people are so ignorant of. There are men standing in their pulpits who are so ignorant regarding this third person, the Trinity. There are thousands and thousands who are filling our pews every Sunday morning. There are men in our seminaries who are supposed to be the authorities when it comes to the Word of God, who are absolutely ignorant regarding this third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. They take him so lightly. They take his personality so lightly. They are living literally in stark ignorance regarding this third person. And yet he is so important that the only sin for which there is no forgiveness, the sin that is absolutely unpardonable, is the sin against the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit. And you cannot... prove to me from the Word of God where there's any other sin that is unpardonable. A man can commit murder and yet be forgiven. A man can commit adultery and still be forgiven. You name the sin and I want you to know that God in His tender mercy has promised to forgive that sin regardless of who you are. There is only one sin. I cannot tell you why it is. I don't know. But it makes me tremble. It makes me tremble. Dear God, help us to be cautious, very cautious, of how we treat this third person of the Trinity. Be very, very careful that you do not attribute the work of the Holy Ghost, the work of this third person, to Satan, to the devil. If you do, you may be committing the sin for which there is no forgiveness. And Jesus said those words in connection with the healing of a sick body when one was brought to him. One possessed with the devil, blind and dumb, and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and the dumb both spake and saw. I still am convinced that the devil cannot heal a sick body. He has no power to heal a sick body. He has no power to heal an incision when the surgeon performs surgery. He has no power to heal the physical. That, my friend, is in the hands of the Great Creator. when he said, let us make man in our own image and after our likeness. All healing is divine healing and is the work of the Holy Spirit.
