#boldsermon #bold #pauldaugherty #sermon #victory SERMON NOTES ---LIFE and LOVE and ANYTHING GREAT that you will ever experience will require BOLDNESS… ---BOLDNESS---defined--- willingness to take risks and act innovatively; confidence or courage; daring; beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action; imaginative; confident; free from intimidation ---2 SAMUEL 23:20 --- Benaiah chased a lion in a pit on a snowy day and killed it--- CHASING LIONS--- in a pit with a lion on a snowy day… Here’s where we miss some of the cool wordplay in the Bible. Our English versions will say something like, “he killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab” (2 Sa 23:20). That makes us think, “Oh, yeah. Some guy named Ariel had two sons, and Benaiah killed them.” But OT scholars are still divided on what “sons of Ariel” means. The word Ariel is very similar to the Hebrew word for “lion,” aryeh. The KJV even translates Ariel as “lionlike men.” --- If the word is related to lions, then that makes the passage about Benaiah even more epic: “Benaiah was a mighty man. He killed two heroes that were as strong and brave as lions. Also, the dude killed an actual lion.” -----BEING BOLD means LIVING with a COURAGE that makes you STAND OUT----BURN the SHIPS--- BLAZE NEW TRAILS---LIVE for the APPLAUSE of NAIL SCARRED HANDS --- don’t just talk about the problems, become part of the solution--- grab opportunity by the mane and don’t let go--- live like today is the last day of your life--- don’t let whats wrong with you keep you from worshiping whats right with God--- don’t try to be who you aren’t, be yourself---dare to be different---dare to dream---chase the lions in your life… This is a wake-up call to stop living as if the purpose of life was to simply arrive safely at death. Our dreams should scare us. They should be so big that without God they would be impossible to achieve. Quit running away from what you’re afraid of. ----WHAT LIONS are HOLDING YOU BACK-----Fear / doubt / anxiety / depression / discouragement / despair / defeat / heartache / unemployment / addiction/ regret / shame / guilt - paralyzed in ur present because of ur past ---SPEAK BOLD ---PRAY BOLD ---THINK BOLD ---LIVE BOLD ---be bold in the moment!! "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish.
