The fulfillment of our dreams and the opportunities God has for us require the birth of a new identity. We must break free from the illusion that we can achieve our life goals without transformation. In this insightful message, Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts explores Gideon’s journey in Judges 6. Although God declared him a “mighty man of valor,” Gideon struggled to receive that identity. Like many of us, he had lived as a certain version of himself for so long, he couldn’t see himself any other way. Many people wrestle with understanding who they are, how they got where they are, or who they’re meant to become. When we’re stuck in a false perspective, God sends a word to disrupt the lie. Real transformation starts when we break agreement with the manufactured identity that doesn’t align with God’s design for our lives. MEDITATION: Ask yourself — are you who God created you to be, or are you living a false version of yourself? No matter your current season, the Lord is with you to transform your identity.
