Now the fact has been established from the word of God that the day is coming that every body will be resurrected. The hour is coming, the moment is coming, when this body of mine, if death should come before the rapture of the church, and my old heart should take its last beat, and word should go forth, Katherine Kuhlman has died. Oh, beloved, all on earth they're going to put in that grave is just this old body of mine. No grave, no cemetery will ever hold my spirit or my soul, just the old body. But as surely as they put my body in a grave, So surely will one day resurrection flow through that body. So surely will one day again my soul and spirit and body be united. But here comes the question. What kind of a body are we going to have? At that time when my body will be resurrected, what... What kind of a body will I have? Oh, to me this is most interesting. That's the reason I told you that you and I are going to enjoy today very much. Do you want to know something? The human body as it is now, that body that you have, the body that I now have even as I'm sitting here talking with you, this body as it is now constituted could not exist in heaven. It'd be impossible. There must be a change, and this change is brought about by the resurrection. This body that I now have could not exist in heaven. That body of yours, as it is in its present state, absolutely could not exist in heaven. There's got to be a change. And that change in these bodies of ours is brought about by the resurrection. And this change Paul portrays in these words. And I give you his words from the Bible. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption. In other words, your body, my body as it is today, is corruption. It is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness. Oh, I don't care how strong you are. You have your weakness. I have my weakness. Sure. Why? Because this body that I now have and your physical body, the body that you have, is sown in weakness. It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body. Now that's what God's Word says regarding the physical body as it now is and the body what it will be after the resurrection. Now this does not mean that it will have no substance. We cannot conceive of a body that is to have the faculties of the spirit body not having form and substance. I cannot conceive of such a thing. I'm sure you cannot conceive of a body. A body that is to have the faculties of a spirit body and yet not having substance and not having form. Christ resurrection body is a sample of what ours is to be. If you want to know what kind of a body you are going to have, if I want to know what kind of body my body will be after it has been resurrected, all that I have to do is to just look at the kind of body that Jesus had. resurrected body is a sample of what ours is to be. While it is true that his body did not see corruption and he rose in the same body that was laid in the grave, while it was the same in identity, it was different in character. I'll show you what I mean. While the nail prints and the spear wound were visible, yet it could pass through closed doors and appear and could disappear at will. It had flesh, it had bones, but not blood. For the word says flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God. For blood is that which causes corruption. There is no scripture whatsoever to substantiate the fact that these resurrected bodies of ours will have blood. The Bible clearly teaches that the body after it has been resurrected will have no blood in it whatsoever. That's right. For blood is that which causes corruption. corruption. My body will not have blood in it after it's resurrected, neither will yours. To preserve a body, it must be drained of blood, or the blood chemically preserved by an embalming fluid. That's right. Now, go back again to the kind of body that Jesus had. Oh, This is so very wonderful. And I never weary of reading that portion of the Word of God as found in, let me see, it's Luke. And I'm going to read it to you just as it is given the Word of God. Luke, the 24th chapter. And here we see Jesus after his crucifixion, after his death, after his burial. And after his resurrection, watch what kind of a body he had. And as they thus spake, Jesus stood before them, in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit, because they were not expecting him. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands. We see that his hands are the same as they were. And my feet. A spirit does not have hands and feet. Watch. Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me. You don't handle the spirit. You handle a body. Watch it. Handle me. And see. For a spirit hath not flesh and bones. as ye see me have. In other words, Jesus said, I have flesh, I have bones. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and oven honeycomb. And do you want to know what he did? Oh, this is so wonderful to me. I don't know whether it affects you as it does me. I thrill every time I read it. There it is, Jesus, after his resurrection. And this is the same body that ascended into heaven. This is the same body that is coming for you and for me. This is the same Jesus who at this very hour is seated at the right hand of God the Father in position of great high priest. He has not changed. His body has not changed. This is the same body that he has this hour. And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and oven honeycomb. And he took it and did eat before them. You never saw a spirit eat. A spirit doesn't eat. Only one with a physical body. And there he stood. They saw his hands. They saw his feet. There he stood, eating before them broiled fish and honeycomb. Watch again, and this is something is given in the 26th chapter of Matthew, the 26th verse. And there they were, partaking of the bread and the wine, the Lord's Supper. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it, break it, gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it. For this is my blood, the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Now watch. This is the thrilling part. But I say unto you, I... I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until... In other words, this is not the last time that I will drink with you. No. I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day. when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. Oh, never sit down at the Lord's table and partake of the cup and the bread without knowing that one day we shall be seated with him. One day when our redemption will have been perfected. He will drink with us and we will drink with him. He will eat with you and he will eat with me at the great wedding supper of the Lamb. Sure, what kind of bodies? All resurrected bodies, bodies without blood, bodies that will never die. Bodies that were sown in corruption but raised in incorruption. Bodies today that are sown in dishonor, but one of these days it'll be raised in glory. Today it's an old body that's sown in weakness, but one day it's going to be raised in power. You and I have a body today that's sown a natural body, but one of these days it's going to be raised a spiritual body. Oh, beloved, doesn't that do something to you? And as our resurrection bodies will have visible form and shape, it stands to reason that they will have a framework of flesh and bones. Oh, sure. But the flesh and the bones of that resurrected body will be adapted to its new environment. And remember something. We must not forget that Enoch and Elijah went up in their bodies. And if they have use for a body in heaven, why not we? Is it reasonable to suppose that only those two saints shall be in heaven with their bodies? Of course not. Why did Michael, the archangel, contend with the devil over the body of Moses if Moses had no further need of it? And did not ye and Elijah have use for their bodies when they appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus? And if they were the two men that stood by in white apparel when Jesus ascended and are to be the two witnesses of the revelation that we know are the type of the resurrected and translated saints, beloved, then we know that the saints at the rapture will have bodies like Moses and like Elijah have now. Oh, look up and thank God for that glorious day that is yet future. God bless you. Amen.
