And the captain had just announced that we were 33 ,000 feet in the air. Everything was going very smoothly, and it was a good flight when suddenly there was a little turbulence, and we were asked to fasten our seatbelt. When everyone became aware of the fact that there was the dearest little old lady, evidently it was her very first flight. Perhaps she had never been on... A plane before. I'm not quite sure. Anyway, she came from someplace in the back of the plane. And she was walking down the aisle with her little bag in her hand and her coat on. And she was walking toward the front door of the plane before the stewardess saw her. And the one sitting next to me just... Looked over and smiled sweetly and says, she's going to get off. But I'll tell you the dear, precious little old soul didn't know that that door was shut. And it wasn't going to be opened until we reached Los Angeles, believe me. The door was shut. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in. The other day, I was flying from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. And when God shut the door of the ark, that door was shut. In spite of all of the pleading, in spite of all of the crying of those on the outside, and these things that were literally hundreds crying on the outside, saying, Oh, Noah, open the door. Open, please. Don't you know us? We're your friends. We're your neighbors. Don't you know us? Sure, we're some of the folk to whom you preached. Please, Noah, I believe that Noah was the most popular man until those waters, those floodwaters, came in mighty destruction. I believe that for a few hours, Noah was the most popular man in the world. He had more friends. He had more folk who acknowledged they knew him than any living human being. Because they knew that the hour of destruction had come. But no longer could Noah help them then. For God himself had shut the door of the ark of safety. They had crossed the deadline. They might have had security. they would have had security had they listened to the word of God, the word of warning that Noah had given them. But when God shut the door of the ark, there was no longer safety and security for those on the outside. In our last little heart -to -heart talk, I spoke of three deadlines. One, that time of death. And I reminded you that all members of the human race have two things in common. Each of us was born and each of us must die. And the destiny of our soul is determined before the moment of death. We cross a deadline. All the prayers in the world All the money in the world cannot change the destiny of our soul after we have crossed that deadline of death. We have made our decision. We have made our choice. And the destiny has been sealed forever and ever. Then we come to the deadline, the sin against the Holy Ghost. It's called the unpardonable sin. There's no forgiveness in earth or in heaven for the man, the woman, who attributes the work of the Holy Ghost to save to the devil. It's the sin, the unpardonable sin. There is a deadline that man can cross. Now we come to the third deadline, that of the great catching up. The rapture of the church. Oh, if you have ears to hear, please listen. If you have eyes to see, please look. If you have a mind that can comprehend, please open that mind to the things of the Spirit. Lest when this tribulation come, you will be on the outside of the ark of safety. I'm going to talk very frankly to you in this little heart -to -heart talk. It is a warning. Take it not from Catherine Truman. It's the word of God that I shall be bringing you. And I repeat, foolish is the man or the woman who will not listen to God's word, who will not accept the word of God. It is the final word, and God will keep his word. to the crossing of every T, the dotting of every I. Critics and skeptics who in the past have brazenly criticized the idea of a literal fulfillment of sensational prophecies now humbly, solemnly bow before the eternal God wholly right. These things that are coming to pass upon the earth were in the minds of many a man impossible. It just could not happen to this modern civilization. There were scores of critics, scores of skeptics. who have brazenly criticized the idea of a literal fulfillment of Bible prophecies regarding the closing days of this dispensation, or a tribulation that would come upon the earth, or the suffering of mankind, such suffering as human beings have never known before. But today, they have got to believe. Today, they have got to listen. For before our very eyes we are witnessing the beginning of a literal fulfillment of prophecies which unbelievers down to the ages have branded as just highly imaginative, fantastic, just figments of one's imagination. But always remember one thing. The Bible is history pre -written. and God's Word is scientifically correct. The Bible is still ahead of the human race, both scientifically and historically. I'm going to show you something that may be very amazing to you, and I'm going to give you the Word of God from here on out. If you have a pencil and paper, take down some of these scriptures I'm going to give to you. This is God's Word. These are some of the things that are taking place right now, today, before our very eyes. In this generation in which you and I live, some of the very things that I shall be giving you from the Word of God, you will see taking place as you turn on your television sets and you hear your news commentators and you see before your very eyes the things that are happening this hour. That little book of Joel. Oh, one of these days, I want to give a series of heart -to -heart talks. Just from that little book of Joel. Because it's, um, we have there the entire picture of the closing of the times of the Gentiles. The day in which you and I are living. I want to give you a couple of scriptures right now from that little book of Joel. And remember, The Bible is history pre -written. And remember that the Bible is scientifically correct. The Bible is still ahead of science. It is still ahead of the human race. All right. The second chapter of Joel. The third verse. And you must keep the Word of God in its context. For this little book of Joel is a picture of this end time, the time of the end of the Gentiles. It is the very day in which you and I are living. A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burneth. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness, yea, and nothing shall escape. Liquid fire. Nuclear warfare. A fire devoureth before them. Behind them a flame burneth. The land is at the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness, and nothing shall escape them. You know, we think we are so highly scientific, we call this the modern age, but would you believe it, that way back there through the prophet, the Holy Spirit, gave a very definite picture of bombing planes, the fifth verse of the second chapter of Joel. And how could he have described it better than he did describe it? Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, shall they leap. Like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble. as a strong people set in battle array. That's the Word of God. Long before there was a 20th century. Long before we had modern warfare. Long before we ever had jet planes. Now, here in the Word of God, the Old Testament, we have a picture of the jet -propelled planes. Like... Chariots on the tops of the mountains, shall they leap. Have you ever watched a jet -propelled plane? Oh, we think we're so modern. We think that we're so intelligent. Why, the Holy Spirit, looking down to the telescope of time, talked about the jet -propelled planes. we have in this generation, long before it had ever entered into the human mind. Like chariots on the tops of the mountains shall they leap. All right. Still my little book of Joel. Old Testament. But we have not taken any of this out of context. So remember this little book of Joel. is a picture of the end time, the times of the Gentiles, the day in which you and I are living. I'm reading now the 10th verse. And the earth shall quake before them, the heaven shall tremble, the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. With a picture of powerful explosives. You say, Miss Cooman, where in the world are you getting this? From the little book of Joel in the Old Testament. The earth shall quake before them. Here's a picture of powerful explosives. The heavens shall tremble, the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. Still with me? All right, we talk about the atomic bomb. And believe me, every intelligent living person is scared stiff of nuclear warfare, of the atomic bomb. That is the reason that leaders of our nation are trying to keep a level head. That is the reason our men in high positions in Washington, D .C., are trying to keep calm and keep a level head. They know the power of the atomic bomb. They know the utter destruction that can be caused by nuclear warfare. Would you believe me if I told you that in the book of Revelation, the 16th chapter, the 9th verse, The word of God speaks of the destruction caused by the atomic bomb, by nuclear warfare. And it's going to happen. It's going to happen. And I read from the word of God. And men were scorched with great heat and blasphemed the name of God. Why in the world? We would blaspheme the name of God when we have brought this judgment upon ourselves. Man has outsmarted himself. God has had nothing to do with it. Man will bring on his own destruction. Man will bring on his own annihilation. Man has literally outsmarted himself. And men were scorched with great heat and blasphemed God. Is that all? No. Keep on reading. And I'm reading from the 16th chapter of the book of the Revelation. Now the 18th verse. And there were voices and thunders and lightnings. And there was a great earthquake. And the great city was divided into three parts. the cities of the nations fell and every island fled away and the mountains were not found i continue the eighteenth chapter of the book of the revelation and the merchants of these things which were made rich by her shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing and saying, Alas, alas, that great city, for in one hour so great riches is come to naught. I repeat, for in one hour so great riches is come to naught. and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning. And they cast dust on their heads and cried, weeping and wailing. This is not just a figment of my imagination. This is the very word of God. That's the reason I repeat. There was a time when critics and skeptics brazenly criticized the idea of a literal fulfillment of these sensational prophecies. But not any longer. Not today. For the day before our very eyes, we are witnessing the beginning of a literal fulfillment of prophecies which unbelievers, down to the ages, branded as just imaginative, fantastic, unbelievable. They could never take place. Today, they are scared stiff. Moving with caution. Admonishing leaders of our nations to be calm. Be careful in their decisions. For in one hour, an entire city can be destroyed. And God's word said, that one city will be destroyed in one hour when judgment strikes this generation. Are you still with me? All right. I'm giving you the word of God. You dare not take issue with the word of God. Do you want to know what the future holds for the unbelieving, the unregenerated, the one who closes his ears to the gospel? who closes his mind to the word of warning, the ninth chapter, the book of Revelation, we see here that one -third of the human race will be killed. By these three, now remember, I'm not quoting from some scientific book. I'm quoting from the Bible. By these three was the third part of men killed. By the fire, by the smoke, and by the brimstone. And brimstone is sulfur. And in the original week, sulfur is used extensively in the manufacture of explosives. By these three, the Bible says, was the third part of men killed by fire, by the smoke, and by the brimstone. All right. You're going to see now the great destruction caused by nuclear warfare when it's dropped in the ocean. A great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood, and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea and had life died. and the third part of the ships were destroyed. No wonder in the New Testament, speaking of this day, the word says men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth. For the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. Oh, sure. There shall come in the last days scoffers walking out of their own lusts and saying, where is the promise of his coming? But God is going to keep his word, and sudden destruction is coming upon the earth. Sudden destruction. But before the great day of tribulation, God has made a way of escape for his own, for the church, for his bride, the body of Christ. that you and I may be worthy to escape this great tribulation. As surely as there was the ark of safety for Noah, so surely has he made a way of escape for his own through the rapture of the church. When the Holy Spirit leaves, he's going to take the church, the believers, those born into the body of Christ, with him. Be sure that you are in the arc of safety before that.
