23. Stubbornness

Welcome to track #23 of break forth and become who you can become. Now I have been, I have been thinking about the possible causes of the different things that leaders to be going over, the same things that are being said quite clearly already, and I believe that the Lord is showing me something which I've never really thought of as. As being A cause of this our situation. But one of the things that you'll learn is that all the problems of Israel, Israel in the natural are the problems of the church spiritually. Do you see, the problems of Israel are the problems of the church. And it is immaturity to think that the the problem of Israel is peculiar to them, you know, or to think that they are. They were particularly bad in whatever they were doing, you see. But actually it's a problem of all of us. Amen. And so you would have heard this phrase, these people are a stiff necked people, which means that it's a neck that is not easy to bend, you see. Yeah. And everyone of us has obviously a better flow with somebody or something or somebody that is more malleable or flowable as against resistance and hardened. Do you see now once again, like in jail, in prison, everybody who is in prison says that he is not guilty, which is one of the very interesting things that you have to learn when you are going to do prison ministry. You know, a prison with hardened criminals, murderers who have murdered on video and so on. They all say that they are not guilty. And some of them, and one of the things that happens is that people wait for the execution and immediately after the the person is executed and is even dead, they always come to have a press conference. I don't know if they always do, but they have a press conference to find out if the person said anything before he died, to admit it or to say whatever you see. And many times you have these very hardened criminals who do not admit anything. So I'm, I'm seeing something here that it seems to be not an uncommon problem, but a very, very, very, very common problem, which is the problem of stubbornness. I mean, if somebody tells you say you are stubborn, you said me, Oh no, I'm not stubborn. But I think that there is a great problem of stubbornness with us spiritually and in many ways. And obviously some people have a larger dose of that thing. But I was asking Pastor Sawyer yesterday if, let's say we have a meeting and I say something so clear that it's not like it's enigmatic. And when something is enigmatic, it means that it's mysterious and difficult to understand. Or maybe I say something like, oh, there are things that you ought to do. You yourself should know what it is and so on. But you say this thing, do it, but the person doesn't do it. Do you see then what you have to conclude, even though you will never admit it, is that you are a stubborn person. And that stubbornness is not as uncommon as you thought, because it's even located in you. Because if we talk about reading the books, meditating on them, reading, there's nothing new really that I'm saying. I don't think I've said anything new. And you know, last year I came and I read a book to you. We went through the whole camp with the book. This year I've come, I've told you this time I told you the book from the beginning. It was mega church where I've gone through different things. Of course, it takes time for us to understand, but there is an element you understand of clear resistance. Do you see? And it's not a good thing because it's very expensive to be a stubborn child. A stubborn child really loses a lot. Stubbornness costs is very expensive. One of the most expensive human traits that you could ever acquire or have a star bonus. Do you see? So I'm just looking at that this morning and is Isaiah 48. In in Deuteronomy chapter 21, OK, the Bible talks about different type of sons that people can have and daughters as well. You see it says in verse 16 of Deuteronomy, we will come to Isaiah. But I'm just reading this one. It shall be that when he maketh his sons, do you see to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved first born before the son of the hated, which is indeed the first born. He's talking about when a man has two wives, but he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the first born. You have two ones you like, 1 you don't like, the other, the hated and the liked, and it's the hated who gave birth first. So don't exchange the first born rights. Even though he's the son of the hated, he's still the first born. Do you get it by giving him a double portion of all that he had? For he is the beginning of his strength, and the right of the first born is his. Are you there now? If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son or daughter? If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which which you see, this is the characteristic which will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and that when they have chastened him, will not hack in unto them. Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of the city and unto the gate of his place. And they shall say unto the elders of the city, This our son, this boy is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard. And all the men of the city shall stone him with stones, so that he died. And so thou shall put evil away from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear. Amen. Are you listening to me? So, brothers and sisters, what I'm trying to say is that there is that characteristic. What is the meaning of stubborn? How many of you think you are not stubborn? I mean, until this morning, you believe that you are not a stubborn person. Raise your hand. No, honestly, I want honesty. I mean, it doesn't occur to you that you are stubborn. How many think you are stubborn? I've always thought you are stubborn. Raise your hand. Why do you think you are someone persisting? Stubbornness. Pardon. Just yesterday that you noticed that you were stubborn. Pastor Joel, do you consider yourself to be stubborn? You didn't. Oh. Speak through the microphone. I didn't. You didn't see yourself as stubborn. Until when? We had a conversation last week. That's right. And you felt that you were what? I agreed that I'm stubborn. Determined not to change one's attitude or position or difficult to move. Remove. Or cure determined what? Not to. Not to change. One's position. One's. Position, attitude, or position? Yeah, you are determined not not to change one's position. Your your position on an issue. You are determined. But you see, you may not know that you are determined not to change. Yeah. And that is why counsel and advise and all these things bounce off the person, my own, because the person is stubborn. You are determined within you not to change your position or your attitude because I I would say that I have never seeing a person practically teaching the way I'm teaching practically. I mean, there's nothing left to for you to even reason out what is the meaning of this? To the extent that I'll even be accused of being vulgar and even using words and describing things too graphically, yes, I can easily be accused of that because I want to leave nothing to your imagination for you to perhaps misunderstand or Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, guess what I'm saying? What I'm saying is this clearly yesterday I met her sister. I asked her do you have a beloved yet? She said no. I said have anybody applied? She said no. Then I told her. I said, well you have to also be friendly and talk. It's not only breasts and bottoms that get you a beloved. I don't want her to misunderstand exactly what I'm saying. It's not only breasts and bottoms that can lead you to get a beloved. Start to relate and talk more and somebody will like you. That's what I said to people. People are also attracted when you speak. If you don't speak, a whole section of your beauty is taken away, no matter how much of breasts and bottoms you have. That's why sometimes you see people coming to the altar and the person is totally disfigured. The average person can see that this is not even. I mean, an averagely beautiful person, you may not say, but it's in your head. A person does not have even average beauty, but the person has got a husband and has got somebody to marry is because more than 50% of your beauty lies within the things you say. Are you listening to me? Yeah. That's why sometimes you see somebody who has got a beautiful wife and he's following something that is, I mean to the And if you take 50 people, they will all say that the man's wife is more beautiful than this girl. But that girl may engage the person or talk to the person or relate, whereas the wife has decided not to speak again or talk about or has become the main opposition party of everything that happens in the house. That's the main opposer. And so the beauty of the person is known about that other person whom if you took fifty men and asked if I or in no fine, most honest challenge in no fine, but that person would rather attract the love because a lot of your attractiveness lies within your ability to talk to somebody. OK, back to my point. I'm saying that you will not have. I am talking with you here. I brought Pius here. I brought John. I made them stand here from Mali, from Burkina Faso. I talk about ambassador, I bring somebody here. You see how the person is. I mean, what else can be clearer? You have to, I mean, wake up. Somebody says starch. He sits here. He described don't buy the spray starch. It's expensive. Do this one, cut it. It's the starch, the starch work all kinds of things. However, more clear can it be? But we, we are determined to do what not not to change our position or our attitude. It's a very wild disease. And the Bible says if a man has a stubborn son, he should bring him out of the city and they will all stone him so that you put away an evil from amongst you. Pastor Kingsley has come all the way to where you are staying, but the kidney has. He has children who are in university and have any of our children finish university. He has children who have finished university. If his son gets married now, he's going to be a grandfather. He comes to stay with you in, in your schoolboy conditions, teach you how to with them, practically go with you, praise with you. Not that they are teaching like I'm teaching them. And then after that, you will not practice it practically. Then you see you are a stubborn and an evil son. I tell you, you are an evil that must be put away. Yeah. Because how, again, can it be explained to you? And that, that, that, that Pastor Kinsley that you see there, I am the one who said, let Pastor Kinsley go to the Western region. He was supposed to go to South Africa. He was supposed to go to America to help some of that. I said no, the Western region, I can determine and feel that these people really need something to help them, to let those churches work. So I sent him there. You ask yourself, how more clearly can it be revealed to you than the way it is being revealed now? We do not obey it. And it goes on and on and on. Pastor George said that he's stubborn. I remember one day I talked to him. I was telling him, I told him do this, but he didn't do it. One year past, two year past. As we discussed, he did not agree on the date. So one day we were in Mexico. Then I said, OK, OK, let's forget about the past. From today we are in Mexico. Write it from today. I said do this. We were there. Two years later, I still not done it. So again, you see, sometimes you really need evidence. And even when you bring the evidence, I was talking with him again and realized he did not even accept that Mexico date. Even I didn't accept the Mexico dates. I said very what is a spiritual condition? You may you may not find yourself not changing something. You even wonder what it is that you are not. The thing has been said clear. OK, let's forget about that ambiguous past. Today we are standing in Mexico. Let's know this date from this second. I'm saying it again. Let's say that I didn't say from today, I say this. We were there, two years came to pass or maybe average. So again, what do you do? But you see, I'm saying that this thing, it costs a lot. It costs. And I'm saying that it's not even that, because when you read the Bible, if you look about Israel, most of the problems, stubborn people, stiff, naked, stiff, naked, stiff naked people. I means that Israelis, So Israelis are stubborn. Look, the church is the stubborn group. The church, we are stubborn to me. I will say that most of us here have such stubbornness within us. Yeah, we have it so much. And I think that that is why I have even realized within me that there are certain things I don't make an effort for anymore. Because you sort of become a little a bit discouraged. You sort of find yourself just stepping backwards, the zeal and the energy with you when you are safe. I know the person will not obey you. I will not do it. It's your son, and you know better than he does. Do you get it? Yeah, it's fantastic. And I'm just giving this example. Everybody here, I've given examples in such a way, like this example that I'm giving. I've mischievous a jewel's name, so I'm giving a person. There's no ambiguity about what I'm saying. I'm saying it to you clearly. Let me have I not said things to you clearly. I don't want you to misunderstand what I'm saying. You thought I meant it's so clear. But still there will be no change. Then what do you conclude, Pastor James? What do you conclude? You see, that's why I said that. All of us who are in jail say we are not guilty, which is one of I'll say it's one of my myself. I read it in a book called how to how to win friends and influence people. In one of the chapters at the very beginning, he said, look, people do not accept what you tell them. They will never believe you say this. No about that. It's a it's a standard behavior of human beings. If you tell a person you are like this, no, you never accept it. Then he gave an example of a criminal who was surrounded by the police, shot whatever. The guy was arrested and the guy was one of the notorious criminals that they were looking for. And the night before, he was in a car with a woman and a policeman came to ask him, what are you doing here? But he just took a gun and shot the guy in cold blood just the night before when he was finally surrounded, he wrote a letter when he was finally surrounded and he was taken alive, when he gave his, he said, look, I am AI am a very good. I'm a good person. You don't know. This is the kind of person you are mistaken. That was his opening statements, never agreed, never admitted. And it's not a characteristic of a criminal. It's a characteristic of pastors and of Israel, and the church is the spiritual Israel. Today, it's true. So from today, forget about yourself. But for me, I am going to look at stubbornness in my personal life because it must apply to me as well. It must be a problem that I also have, even though I'm the one preaching about it, if I'll be honest, it must be something that affects me also. You see, that's that's how come you can get healed. If you can try to find mirrors to look at the different parts of your body, you'll suddenly begin to see that challenge. This thing is true, it is a reality. Sometimes somebody else can see so clearly. And I think that's how it is. And that's why if you are open to somebody who is speaking to you from outside, you will, you will hear. But to me, I will say that it's something that I'm going to search for within myself. And if you have even some of them, or you have even blessed to have somebody to tell you something, you yourself should be able to see that. No, Charlie, the stubbornness is terrible. Isaiah 48. Hear this Passovi. Read it. O House of Jacob, who are named Israel, and who came forth from the loins of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord, and invoke the God of Israel, but not in truth nor in righteousness, for they call themselves after the holy city and lean on the God of Israel. The Lord of Hosts is his name. I declared the former things long ago, and they went forth from my mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. Because I know you are obstinate, and your neck is as an iron signal, and your forehead bronze. Therefore I declared them to you long ago, before they took place. I proclaimed them to you so that you would not say. My idol has done them, and my grieving image and my molten image have commanded them. You have had. Look at all this and you will not declare it. I proclaim to you new things from this time, even hidden things which you have not known. They are created now and not long ago and before today you have not heard them, so that you will not see. Behold, I knew them. You have not heard, you have not known even from long ago. Your ear has not been open. Because I knew you would deal very treacherously, and you have been called a rebel from Beth. For the sake of my name I delay my wrath. For my praise. I restrain it for you in order not to cut you off. Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake. For my own sake, I will act. For how can my name be profaned, and my glory I will not give to another. Listen to me, O Jacob, even Israel, whom I called. I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. Surely my hand founded the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens when I called to get to them. They stand together, assemble all of you, and listen. Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him. He will carry out his good pleasure on Babylon, and his arm will be against the Chardians. I even I have spoken. Indeed, I have called him, I have brought him, and he will make his way successful. Come near to me. Listen to this. From the 1st. I have not spoken in secret. From the time it took place I was there, and now the Lord God has sent me and His Spirit. Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commandments, then your well-being would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants would have been like the sand, and your offspring like His grains. Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence. Go forth from Babylon. Flee from the Chaldeans. Declare with the sound of joyful shouting. Proclaim this. Send it out to the end of the earth. Say the Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob. They did not test when He led them through the deserts. He made the water flow out of the rock for them. He split the rock and the water gash forth. There is no peace for the wicked, says the Lord. And you see, for instance, all over this chapter he is talking about the stubbornness of the determined. They are determined not to change. And what again position. And there was the next definition, difficult to move, which is phlegmatism. That's why it is said that phlegmatics are stubborn. They don't easily change their position. They're very nice, very polite, very gentle, never quarrel with you, not be a beast. But they won't change it. It's as simple as that. I wouldn't change it. Difficult to move, difficult to move, difficult to remove are difficult to cure. That's why I say to those who may question something that Pasa Kakrav may be doing. As I say, if a man has a stubborn Sir, let them take him out of the city and let the elders come and stone the person that you may remove an evil. An evil is being taken out of our midst, he said in Isaiah 48, verse four. Because I know you are obstinate and your neck is an iron iron sinew and your forehead is bronze.
