14. 35 Qualities Of Becoming A Shepherd 6

If you have a daughter, you give birth. Your daughter is not getting married. Will you not always be concerned about that? So why don't you take the children as the the members as your own children and care for them and love them. That is how that is, that is, that is, that is, that is what it means to be a shepherd. Can you make a way #3 territory making? Taking territories is their next job. Exodus chapter 17 verse 9. Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out and fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. You see, Moses was using his rod, and it came to pass when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. Amen. Are you there now? Every shepherd must always be advancing. Your church must always be growing because it is always decreasing. Every church, always people are going. People are living in a church always. So if you get a church which stays at the same number, it means the number of people who left is equal to the number of people who came. That's why it's the same attendance. So a pastor, if you are serious, you have to be like Moses, who stretch out his rod to take a new territory to fight against Amalek. And pastors, shepherds, I'm showing you your work. So when I give you your come, the first time I gave you the rod, what were you supposed to do with it? Supposed to rule. The second time I gave you the rod, what was I supposed to do? I was supposed to make a way. The third time I gave you the rod. What are you supposed to do? Take territory. Supposed to take territories. So the first time I gave you the sensible, I was supposed to listen to the lungs. The second time I gave you to I was expecting you to listen to the hot sounds. The third time I gave you the rod, I was expecting you to listen to the intestinal sounds of the stomach. So you see now God is giving you the rod again. Take new territories. That's why we always trying to expand into new areas. Kenya, Nairobi. Do they allow signboards in Nairobi? When I was driving to Naira, I didn't see lighthouse signboard there. I saw one by the church but they allowed to have signboards. I want to see signboards from the north to the South to the east to the West. In the whole, more than 100 churches in only Nairobi. You don't seem to be excited about that because in Accra we have more than 100 churches in Accra. We are here as the Kodesh. Here's another church, just here, sit down. Here's the church. And in times when we have plenty, times when we have none, He's our provider and His mercy never stops. Like a shepherd, He leads us. Like a father He feeds us from the morning to the evening till the sun arise again. Like a shepherd He leads us, and like a father He feeds us. He is the great idea. As we come into His presence, confess in Him as the Lord, His Holy Spirit guides us and feeds us from His word. We are seated at His table, but take us of His love, children of His Kingdom. We've been purchased by His blood. Like a shepherd that He leads us, And unlike a father, he feeds us. From the morning to the evening till the sun arise again. Like a shepherd he leads us. Like a father, he feeds us. He is a great. Hallelujah #4 that comforting ministry. As soon as you get your rod, one of the duties is comforting people. Amen. Don't worry about that. Insects go in from time to time. Then they just dissolve, vaporize. That's the future of orangut. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. You are supposed to use the rod to comfort the sheep. It's OK. Amen. A Good Shepherd. OK. You feel comforted. Feel comforted. Very comforted. You need to comfort the sheep. It's OK. Don't cry. Amen. Do you understand? One day I saw a certain elderly lady, and I didn't know why. She was a member of the church that she was in, you see, because she was a staunch, faithful member of that church. And she was not leaving the church. OK, all right. But one day somebody told me something. The daughter of the person told me. Many years ago, when my mother was in a particular job, a big crisis came. And at that time she was a very important person. This man, the pastor, has so many crises and problems himself. You wonder why the people have not left. All these people are still in the church with him. And she told me when my mother went into the crisis, this man came to the house, there was an announcement. It was a big thing. He came, took care, drove around the whole city talking to her, encouraging her, praying with her throughout the crisis. When this happened, then she did. So I got the background and you I understood how come this person is staying with this crisis leading pastor. One day I went to a certain pastor's birthday party. He has a big church, but he has also had so many troubles. Then it was time for speeches. Then people started to speak. One guy came and said, yeah, you know, I was in the He has a way of I was in the cooler, that he was in prison. A big man in Accra that was in the cooler. My pastor sent this Pastor Kim, and he mentioned this pastor came to the prison, prayed with me. What can a pastor do? Nothing much he said. He prayed with them. He told me you will be set free. He said I didn't even know how I could be set free. So when we went to court, I was acquitted and I'm free. One after everybody gave those grown-ups who have been, they checked 20 years, 30 years, each of them has been comforted before. See, comforting does nothing to you substantially, but it has an effect on your soul. I'm telling you, you will see these people forever and ever. They will never leave you. You see, when you don't really love somebody, you can't really comfort the person. In fact, you know, if you feel what the person feels, you just say, look, pull yourself together and just get on. You know, pull yourself together and just get on with the job. A pasta. When there's trouble, that's the use of the shepherd. When there's trouble, that's where we see you. When there's crisis, that's where we see you. That's the way when God wants you to be close to somebody, He'll give the person a trouble that will introduce you as a shepherd to that person. Many people have become close people through troubles. After that trouble for life, we are together. We will never be separated from that person again. The trouble united you. So a shepherd you must funeral. You must be there outdoor. What do you call it here? Out during What do you call out during here? When somebody has a baby, What is it called? Baby Dedication. Shower. Crisis. Trouble school. You didn't pass. You pass. This does it? That's where you show like a shepherd. Your rod. You appear with your stethoscope. What are you coming to do this time? I'm here on the comfort team. One day I was in the church and I had a phone call and I was told that one of my church members has died suddenly in a terrible accident. And I knew that his wife was at home. She didn't know. She, her husband had told her that I'm on my way. But now he was he was dead. A young person, you don't know what to do. But I've never felt more useless than during that particular period when that pastor, that brother died with the wife. Because I was with the wife all the time. I called the wife. Come, I'll tell you. Bring her to me. I'll talk to him. I don't know what to talk. Hey, some of the people ask me, what are you telling them, Ish. I have to think of something to say. I said, for what? I said, I'm the most useless person I have. So that look, I said, what can I do to bring your husband back? What can I do? I'm so just powerless, Powerless. I didn't even pray for him to rise from the dead. When Bishop Zaki's wife died, I completely forgot to pray. I just started crying. My wife has said pulling me. What is he going to do if you behave like this? That's what she was asking Come and she said, I want to say thank you. I said. She said it worked you. Then one day another pastor was also killed. One day one of my pastors died. I was standing by the coffin with her. I told her I'll take, I'm taking her to see him. I'm taking her to see a body. So I was talking to her and later somebody asked what were you telling her? I was explaining to her, this is not, I thought, can you not see? Can you not see? Hey, the face had changed. You like this, I said. God will take care of you. But I remember one day I saw her coming downstairs to see me. She had she was wearing a white dress with a white hat. Big hat like that is the type of hat that I like. There are different types of hat. I'm also into hats and designs. You don't know that I'm a designer. She had a nice heart. I liked her heart. She was married again. I said, I told you, I told you that you got to take care of you. One day, one of my other widows, I came back to the office. She was laughing in the office. I said, you see, I told you, you will laugh again. I told you, you will laugh again. But I still couldn't give her husband back, back and comfort her like that. What do you think? Is it powerful? Sometimes you don't know why people are following somebody. When you go inside, you find out it's not the preaching at all. They don't even understand what he's saying. But just that look, the guy, the guy, he's close marking. I tell him he's there with the people. Oh, comforting. So that's a pasta. When you use, when you learn how to use your rod to do your work, it's one of the main works that you have. Are you listening to me? Amen. Why is he? When I gave you the rod, what was your first job? Amen. What does that mean? Measure measurements. You have to assess yourself. Amen. When you assess yourself, you are always able to do better. Why do we look into the mirror? To see what you are not. When I look into the mirror, I realize that I'm not black. I'm pointy .5. I'm only .5. Sometimes you look in the mirror and you see your hair. There's something sticking out here. So you do this, Are you afraid? Isn't it? You measure, you say that's the only way sometimes you can know really where you are to a pastor. You have to analyze, you have to look at your attendance, you have to assess yourself. If you are a new shepherd, Pastor Obi has made you a shepherd, a pastor you are preaching and so on. You must always come and ask him, did I preach well? Is that how to preach? Assess yourself and be assessed. Amen. Measure and analyze this chat. How big is it? Is it really working? Oh, some of your bum. Bum is too big. Oh, it's too small. Something is big. Something is small. Oh, Mercy Measurement. Every church, when you look at it, you always see something wrong with it. I'm telling you, there is no church that is OK. Just like your body. If I look at you right now, where is your hair? You see, if I look around now, suddenly I will see something wrong. If I look at you right now, what will I see? Something wrong? Your nose is small. You see now she says the hair nose is too small. And when I look at you, what is wrong with you? Your hair is too long when I look at you. What is wrong with you? Your eyes are too big when I look at you, what is wrong with you? You have not done your hair. You need to retouch it. You immediately see, but most of the time we cannot see some of the most important things. You know, there's some places you cannot see. You need a mirror to see that place. That is why if your pastor tells you something, try to believe it all. It's not easy to get somebody who would tell you, look, this is wrong with you. It's a blessing. Somebody tells you, know this is what is wrong. Believe it, especially the person loves you. He's only trying to make you get better and better, better and better and better. Tell me which business is Coca-Cola? Is it MTN? Is it what that you will not take Nigeria seriously whether there are dangers there or not? Then what about the check? When I analyzed myself, I said that am I serious? One day I was with a white man. I was sitting, I was landing in Lagos, he said. He told me I've never been here before. We were flying from Ghana. As we were landing, he looked out and he said, man, this place is like Baghdad. He said, this place is like Baghdad. Well, we were going to Europe, but we had to stop there to refuel. He said, this is like Baghdad, you know. But then he said, so. He said, do you have to do you come and say, come? He said, why would you come here? What do you come to do? I said we're preaching this and that. Then he was quiet for some time and I said, I guess, yeah. I also go to dangerous places for my work. I do. I go, I go. So I, I can understand why you come here. Have you ever seen a white man seen oil? That he didn't come, whether it's Angola or Nigeria or where he did that, he didn't go. A white man who has seen money, he has seen a diamond, Ohio, he has seen the gold. When I went to Johannesburg, I went under a mine. I went under. When half of Africa is speaking French. Just measure yourself and see. As soon as you measure, you immediately see that I'm not as good as I thought I was. Every day I have the meeting, I sit behind my chair and then the other pastors sit around and I'm having a meeting. One day I came late for the meeting and then one of the pastors went to sit in my chair and started the meeting to help the meeting to go on. So that we it's like we are having discussion whilst they sit down, whilst they're while they're waiting. So as soon as I entered, I saw him sitting in my chair conducting the meeting. And as soon as I felt there was something wrong with it, but he knew exactly what was wrong with it, but I said there's something wrong with that. So I said, get up. Never sit in my chair If I'm not there, don't sit in my chair. David had a donkey. And when he wanted to show that Solomon was the king he made, he said, let Solomon sit on my donkey and drive in the town. It's a symbol of his authority. Don't sit on it. I said get up and go. Don't sit there. Even if I'm not there, don't sit there. If you can't correct people, it will take you for a ride before you realize you are wondering who is in charge. What do you think sometimes you have to say If some people don't ask, who are you say I am? So you must bring people into line. There are people who love to go out of line, say back, it's not your place to do that, Amen, it's out of order. Don't do that. Especially when it comes to certain things, people love to go out of order, Amen. I can give you a lot of examples, but for the sake of fine protocol I will desist from sharing more of such things. But you need to be able to rebuke one of our church members. He stole our offering. I gave him an option. I said leave the church and I will not say anything and don't join any other church, Lighthouse church because he was a chronic thief. I said if you don't, if you come, I'll make a poster of you and I will share your poster everywhere in our churches that you are active. But I don't want to do that. So just go quietly. What do you think? Is it not? Is it not a kindness? Yeah, go. Just don't be in the church again. Don't join in, because everybody knows you as an Asher and as somebody who is helping. So just go. If you learn how to ride, the horse knows the kind of rider that is sitting on him. As soon as you sit on a horse and you hold a, he knows from the reins how you hold the reins and how you sit and how you even the confidence which you have to tap the horse and the way you hold them. And he knows you are experienced and when you are not experienced, he knows you are a starter. I once rode a horse called Black Beauty and at that time I was a beginner and Black Beauty, we were all going out on a ride. Black Beauty was feeling lazy and he didn't want to go out. When we got to the gates of the ride, he stopped and I was on the horse. He stopped and everybody was continuing and I, I kicked him go. He stood there. I kicked him go. Then the Sergeant who was inside of the ride, he came back. We were about 20 horses. He came back, said come on, kick the horse, let the horse come kick it. I was kick it my head. God did he stood there, kick it, come on, I kick like a church member didn't know, like a wife didn't know. You are a beginner, you are new. I did with him he wouldn't go. Then the sudden said why they are going because he cannot hold up everybody and I was sitting there. Then the horse itself turn around and walk me back to its table. If you, if you allow, your congregation will lead you. They will make you open a university because they'll say you also have a university. Like all of us, all the others are having universities. We must also have a we must also have a school. We must do this, we must celebrate this. We must have, they will lead you, they will lead you. They will make you do everything you wouldn't really have done. So after that I went and I got a special whip called Alley. I went to a certain jockey and he made a special whip for me. That is the only horse. When you whip it, it is so intelligent that it will jump up. Not will it jump a gentle but high, come down, kick up, go up. That one is no problem. It's a problem, but it's not really a problem. But it knows, ah, you want, so you want to stay, You want to stay on my back. Then it will lie down and row. And that horse is called Lucifer. So it is the Luciferic members that we cannot control. And I've seen it before. That horse, Lucifer, I saw a champagne. It laid down on the floor and I saw it. But there was a man who could ride it. When it rose, he would stand by the horse like that, and it rose over. When it comes back to his feet that he comes right back. And the horse knew that he had seen his master and nobody, only two people could ride that horse. Sometimes you see a Lucifer member. You realize that this Lucifer must go out of the church. Amen.
