05. Spiritual Authority

Welcome to track #5 of Significance. I want to share with you a little bit about what I call spiritual authority. Amen. I believe that when you are a person of true spiritual authority, you will, you will do well. Amen. So actually I'm just sharing just a little, not really all the way, but just tidbits about that so that I can get into something that is greatly related to that. Amen. How many want to be a person? How many know that men of spiritual authority? Great people in the Lord, Amen. Wonderful. So I believe that spiritual authority or having authority as a spiritual person is a very, very important thing. Amen. All right, so I need my pen. I think it's in the cup. I believe that it is a blessing. Amen. So there are many people who have no real spiritual authority. What they have is makeshift authority. You get it now when you when you, when you, when you are appointed into a position, right? You, you have what I call delegated authority. The authority that has been given to you is, is delegated by somebody else, you understand. But I believe that a person who will be of significance in this life is someone who also ends the authority. You understand. For instance, you can be made the leader of the choir by the pastor, but you And so you have authority and a post, but you can do certain things Do you understand that will earn you an authority over the choir? Do you understand which is way beyond what can be superimposed on you and superimposed on the choir by the? Pastor's instructions. How many understand what I'm talking about? And that's when you do have, when you do that you, you actually become a man of authority. Now, for instance, if I have appointed you as a pastor or ordained you into the ministry, that is just a human attempt to confer authority unto you. The true authority is conferred by God and you actually can do certain things to bring yourself to become a person of true authority. For instance, in my personal life, right? I. The the like the Bible says that God said in his word, He said, I have ordained you in John 15, I have ordained you and I have chosen you. So in a certain sense, we are ordained by the Lord. So in a certain sense, we don't really need to be ordained by anybody. But there's also another side to it. That's why we also do have the ordinations that we need. Amen. Are you listening to me? So you will find out that no matter how somebody sets you up or a human being tries to set you up, you also have to do something to actually establish your authority. Amen. Are you listening to me? So today I want to share with you about that, Amen. And I believe that it will be a blessing to you because there are too many of us. We love post. It's just like starting a job. We like to work for an organization which is stable and you know where we get our salary whether we work or not, Is that not so? Is that not so? We, we love that. We love to work ministries work, government work. I mean, you just get your salary. Is that not so? And a lot of people hide under that umbrella comes every month because it comes every month and it's like you are assured of that. But you see there is a higher. Place. Where you you can step out and actually earn the money rather than the money being just delivered to you just because you happen to be in a nice and secure place. Are you listening to me? And so and when you when you have that you enjoy more than when you are just hiding under a system and taking your due every month, Are you listening to me? So what I believe is that all these human things that we do, right? They have their place. It has its place. I don't doubt it. But that is not the highest true authority that you can have in Africa. We we love titles. You know, it was in Nigeria that I saw Benny Hin as Doctor Benny Hin. Well, when you see Benny Hin on TV and so on, it's just Benny Pastor Benny or Benny Hinn. But in Nigeria they made him a doctor, Reverend Dr. Benny Hinn. In Ghana, if you are older, they will call you Sister Ruth Sister. You don't just call the person Ruth or Aqua Sister Aqua Aunty Qua, you understand? Of course, it's more respectful than the white man's way of doing things, but the other side of it is that we are so conscious of that, that we even begin to have faith in that. And today I'm going to try to make you lose faith in that thing so that you rather have faith in something that only God can give you, which is true spiritual authority. Whether you are called this or that or that Bishop, Reverend Dr. Reverend Dr. Whatever, the one who truly gives you authority is not a man. That's why I have pastors that I have appointed, but they have never earned authority. And so they. Are finger head pastors puppets put there? Whom you cannot disturb, and they will tell you how many years they've been in the system. May you not be one of those in Jesus name do. Not be a figurehead, reverend, but truly a reversal person, a holy person. We can give names, Holy Father. Honourable look at the Members of Parliament. Many of them are the most dishonourable people you can have. During the recent vetting of the parliamentarians and the Ministers of State, we saw how dishonourable many of them are. But they are called honourable. In fact, you don't even mention their name. Mr. Davis? Mr. Dan, you just say honourable, huh? Honourable Minister of Moons and Lakes and Stars, His Excellency and we. Have our titles, His Excellency. It's like all about you. It's excellent. But when we read the newspapers and we still realise that. Excellent, Adiano, and you're completely excellent. What do you think? We are calling big, big names and titles, when in reality these things are not the case at all. But you can actually earn the excellent title, the honourable title. Hallelujah. Are you listening to me? So ladies and gentlemen, I want you to now have faith in something higher because that is what makes you, if men give you titles and posts and appoint you and send you and put you at places and God does not appoint you and give you the title and give you the post. You see, I was a pastor. I decided to be a pastor. I was planning on this campus many years ago, I think it was 19. What it was an all night in 1986 or 87, going into 88 or going into 87. I stood out to Mensa Saba Hall. Here Central Gospel was having an all night 31st night and there were laying hands on everybody. Ottabu was laying hands or being dark who was laying hands, and Eric Quapon was laying on three lines. And we were students and it just, I don't know how we managed to be here in the early morning. We came around, huh. Yeah, we're staying on campus. You were on campus. So I happy we were there at that time. So we joined the lines and then afterwards we came out and I remember standing at the corner of Saba Holder and I told Reverend Saki, what did I tell you? From today? I'm a pastor. I'm going to be a pastor from today. And I decided to become a pastor because it was in my heart I was going to be a pastor. So a medical student, I'm going to be a pastor. So I went back to my small chair that I had started and I told them from today I'm not Brother Dag, I am Pastor Dag. Yeah, nobody appointed me. Nobody appointed me. Yeah, no, just because of the joining the prayer line, it was because it was something that I was deciding just happened that we had we were here, we were not. It was not a service or a check that we attended, just happened that they were doing their program on campus. So as we were attending, and as I stood there, the new year was beginning. I said I'm going to be a pastor from today. And I told I told Reverend Saki, I'm going to be a pastor. I'm today. I'm a pastor. Yeah. And when I had 70 churches, I realized that we have so many pastors now. So the term pastor was not appropriate, but the term we need another term to define my job of overseeing. So I look at general overseer, general, Superintendent, Bishop, there's that. And I said, well, the name that is in the Bible is Bishop. So I came to church on Sunday morning and I told the people from today I'm a Bishop. I was preaching. I told them from today I'm a Bishop. Call me Bishop, I'm now. And it is an overseer, the overseer, the official designation of my position in the church. Do you understand now there's another side to the story. So listen carefully. Don't sleep now. No matter I'm talking about having real spiritual authority now, the fact of the matter is that God had already put me in those positions. I was already a Bishop. I was already a pastor. I had the church when I said I'm going to be a pastor, but it was like the confidence to take it up publicly was what I was deciding. Even the Bishop, I was already overseeing 70 churches. There are people who have, they don't. They have 50 members. They have become bishops, not churches or members. You see 70 members, 50 members. They are bishops. Are you listening to me? Yeah. Now true spiritual authority. Comes. And I'm going to give you, let's say about 757, depends on how many I feel I've given you things that make you a man of authority. Amen. How many want to be a man of authority, spiritual authority? Because it's only a man of authority who is significant. If you don't have authority, you don't become much. Now God himself has to. Put you in that position, there's no question about that. And so if somebody appoints you, always pray and seek to become that thing. Truly. Do not accept. Even John Wesley, he was ordained as a priest, but he was not born again. He sought after God and after he was ordained he went on a journey to America. And as he went to America he met some people. They called the Moravians and their service of God and their service to God challenged him. In fact, the leader of the Moravians asked him, Mr. Wesley, are you saved? Do you have your, is your heart with the Lord? Have you, are you born again? And he said he his stomach and he was not sure. And then he said after the guy questioned him the second time, he was an ordained Anglican priest, though he said yes. Then he wrote in his genre. Those were vain words. I did not know the Lord. Yeah, I didn't know the Lord. So even though you may be ordained, you are not yet even saved, much less a priest. So you see, you can have this reverend that, this, that, that, especially if it comes with exams, you can easily go through exams, exams there. When we were in medical school, we were told pass the exams. When you finish, you become a doctor. Don't learn to be. We're told we're good, very good advice. Don't learn to be a doctor. Learn to pass exams. When you finish passing, then you think about being a good doctor because you can know every good thing, but you can't pass the exam and you fail. And there are people like that, they never become doctors. You have to know the examination is also an ACT. How to go through exams is an ACT. So you can, if you are clever, you can pass through any set of exams, but you are not really called. By God. So, like John Wesley, he had a quest for something he called perfection, Perfection. And he searched for perfection. And struggled until one day he found the Lord and gave his heart to the Lord. But when he went to America and he came back, he see himself testify and did not know the Lord. So when he found the Lord, he started to preach that you can be saved and have an assurance in your heart. And they didn't like. His preaching, they would even, they closed the door. So one day he was standing outside. He went to stand outside the church because he was not welcome in the Anglican church. So he stood outside, He stood on his father's tombstone and preached, and thousands of people gathered, preached to them. And that's how it came, because he. Started. Speaking of salvation and the reality of knowing Jesus Christ. So I'm trying to explain to you that there are many things that are conferred on us, are giving to us, but if God hasn't given it to you, you will never be it. So the first, first important thing to have spiritual authority is that God must impart it to you. God must give it to you. It's God-given, it's not man given. God must give it to you. Amen. So you may be appointed as the general overseer, you may be appointed as the whatever, you may be appointed as so and so, but God must also give it to you. So you must seek. God, until you get that authority. Sometimes when I appoint people to work for me in the office and so on, I tell them, you know. Don't use, Bishop said, Bishop said. Bishop said is the weakest kind of authority. Work your way into the system until when you also say something, it is believed and it is trusted, but using Bishop said. Bishop said. Bishop said after a while. It's good to get you into trouble because soon you come to something and say, did Bishop. Really say that. And you can be rude to people, do whatever to people using, Bishop said. You will not get anywhere. Learn to develop your own relationships and your own authority within the system. So whatever you have been appointed as, do not let it get into your head. Rather open your heart and say, Lord, what has been conferred on me now, from now I'm going to pray that it will really be so and I'm going to seek it until it is really so. And sometimes, fact, many times you are appointed before by men before you are appointed by God. What do you think many pastors have appointed and all pastors, they become pastors, they become pastors. Amen. I said they actually evolve and become ministers, pastors. Is it not true? If you'll be very honest with yourself, some of you when I appointed you, you ourselves know. You understand. It took time before you actually walk into that thing which a man has appointed you as, but you see somebody has faith in you that you will become that thing that is. Why that thing is conferred on you that? Hopefully you will fight your way. Until you become that thing. Even the position of a wife. One day I went to a church. The pastor's wife had died, the first pastor. He had been the pastor of that church for about 20 years. So maybe about after about 16 or 17 years, his wife died. She was in the room reading a book when her head bowed over and she was dead. He went into the room. He saw his wife bent over. He said, what's happy? He called the ambulance. They came, they dressed her chest, did everything. She could not wake up. It was I think Monday, he, he preached at her funeral. He buried her himself on Friday and he was in the church after about a year he saw a member of the church. She has been a faithful sister in the church for years, involved with the making of tapes. But she had been, she was involved with the making of tapes and other things in the church and he decided to marry her. When he married her, almost half of the church left. Yeah, they said who is she? That was The Who is she? Who is this girl? They could not accept that. And nobody whom they have been seen in the church. I said nobody for all these years should now be the fastest wife over all of them. When I went to that I myself I saw the empty chest. They have packed all the chest there. The church used to be 1000 plus, now they were about 5-6 hundred. And the pastor said to me and it be his children, he left. It was his son who stayed with him. He had two daughters, his son. And when he put his hand on his son, he said this is a good son, this is a good son, why should he not marry her? Everybody here, if your wife dies here, remember that you have been. Do you know snakes and ladders? You know snakes and ladders? You see that The thing is going up. There is a snake at #99 and it brings you down to #15 or #2. Remember that the last? Snake has bitten you and brought you down. And if you you need the same wisdom and grace that you use at the beginning of your life to revitalize your life and move on, if you don't take it, that will be the end. If it's somebody like Mugabe, you see that since his first life, that is as if it's not normal anymore. But that is first life that you don't know whether it's still normal. It's snakes and ladders, Merzi. Are you listening to me? Tell somebody I am listening. So this wife now had to work her way into a place of authority because even though the pastor said this, my wife, whether you like it or not, that's her. Still, the people will not accept it. And they didn't accept it. And they walked out of the church. Almost the whole church left. The pastor put his hand. So this is my son. He's a good son. But by the time I got to the church, the pastor's wife had started leading the choir, leading the worship. In fact, when I was there, she was now leading the worship and she had gained some, quite a lot of respect and control in the system. And you know, after being conferred, the authority being conferred on her by her husband, do you understand from nowhere she was now. Ending fighting her way, working her way. Into the true position in the true chair that was conferred on her by her husband. I hope you are understanding what I'm preaching about. So when you are conferred upon as a post of General Overseer, Pastor, Reverend, whatever, remember I told you, if a man appoints you, it probably means that God has not yet appointed. You are now going to work your way into the true chair to actually sit really on the chair. That has been so that's why you should never be proud and never stop learning. That's why my pastors all do exams. No matter who you are, come and do exams. And when you don't do exams, it's an indication of your presumption and of your pride that you yourself don't know what you are not. You don't even know that you are not yet anything. You are now working your way. And. When you don't. Read the books and learn and continue to study. It's so evident. You see, Babo says show me your, show me your show. We shall know them by their fruits. We don't know you by your name or your age. We know you by your fruits. And especially when you have come to inherit somebody's fruits, you yourself must know that. Look, this fruit I have to prove myself as really that's what I say. Prove all things, prove your calling. Just be there so. I am this I'm going to enjoy. Even a wife, I said that church I saw you see that the church I packed at the back. That's how we told more chess. More chess. No, the church used to be on TB and it used to be on this big church. My. People, I hope you are understanding what I'm talking about. So, ladies and gentlemen, and no matter what spiritual position is given to you, and no matter the dress that has been given to you and the collars and the whatever, remember you've got to work your way into the true position and the true anointing and the true chair. You must work your way. Work your way till you are 8. That's why we have churches. They call them apostle, this, prophet this, there's that pastor that. You might as well call the person Astronaut Joe, because he is no more nearer being an apostle than he is being an astronaut. Or we might as well call him Queen Joe. Like somebody said, if you are a pastor or you are a prophet, then I am the Queen of England. Then I'm the Queen of England. If you are a pastor, then I'm the Queen of England. And when you look at me, do I look like the Queen of England, Zimbo? So all of us, it's such a tragedy when you are given the title and that you begin to rest. I am. And when they say come and do an exam, it's like, I mean, one pastor, one pastor. I remember I said come and do exam. You know what he said, he was irritated. He said what are these exams? Because he had a church, a big church. What are these exams? You are wasting the people's time and so on and wasting out there. They just they just want to attend a church and every time you are doing exams you have an empty. Head. Full of what do you call a cotton wool? If you go to the Methodist Church you will see the exams they are doing that you don't know. Pray that the church you are. Fasting in 150 years it will still be around pray even five years while he's trying to get sport. Methodist churches are doing examinations all the time. Preach lay preachers exam this exam Catsky's exam that exam exam you. Don't know that is why so we had an exam then we. Asked him a scripture. I said, Because verily, verily I say unto you, Whosoever I shall say to this. Man or whatever you know he said, he said what scripture they said Romans chapter 10 something I said romance. Verily, verily I say unto you, you are saying romance. Goodness gracious, that's why I say your head is full of cotton wool. Have you seen cotton wool? That's why it's this thing. Just air, water head is what we call hydrocephalus full of water or water, let alone watermelon head. Next time you see watermelon on the road, remember what I told you watermelon is your head a watermelon it's full of water. This is when I want to drink. I just eat watermelon God full of water. I. Want you to aim for true spiritual. Authority, don't ever relax. The fact that I'm called Bishop does not mean that I'm a Bishop. And you see, I became a Bishop even before because me, I didn't have anybody to appoint me. No, I tried. I tried to have people. I came to see Bishop Nick. I told them Bishop, I'm going to start a chair. You know what they told you, these young boys who they are just catching up and starting churches without going to Bible. School. I rather win that. Was the end of it. I run away instead. Of coming to help me to start a church. He came and did a big program at Colibu. Advertised action He showed a beautiful program. The the the the powerful. I said hey. It was not easy. So I realized that my health is not going to come from there. He helped me by in different ways, but at that particular moment he didn't. He has his own way. God uses all those things to help us see. God was trying to do something. So I'm not. It's not something that I'm annoyed at, but I see it as part of God's plan. Then I went to another prominent church in town. That time there were two main prominences. I went to the other one and we knew them very well. So I. Sent. My assistant pastor to the main associate who we knew who had been preaching for us every week on campus. So we sent him. When he came back, I said, oh, how are they coming? Is he coming to come and preach at the church and encourage us and say there were certain things that was? I said what days, what days, he said, he said and most other things, he said those of you who are following people who are not called is very dangerous. I said who is not called? Who are those who are not called? I must be the one who is not called. Hey, I must be the one who is not called here. So after they said we are following the ones who are not called, then we heard litters of people saying that hey, you are medicals who concentrate on your studies instead of saying your strategy. Then he quoted the status script. I said what does he say? He said that the little foxes spoil the vine. It's like the church is being spoiled by little little foxes like us. New, new. Pastors who are moving through the church. Wells spoiling the vine. Mercy. But the one that was most amazing was when they said. He has stopped. The partner said I have stopped sowing amongst tones. I said what? What is a ton? Who are the tones He has stopped So in other he used to spend a lot of time sowing wild seats amongst tones and other places. But now when he sees but a thorn, when he sees a lot of thorns, it hasn't plant seed there. I said which are these thorns? We were the thorns in China. I also came myself from today I am Pastor Amen if. Nobody says who are you? You have to say I am. If nobody says who are you? You say, excuse me, I am. That is it anyway. But is there a place for a? Human being to appoint you. I believe that there is turn with me to Matthew chapter 21, Matthew 21 verse 23. Jesus Christ was being questioned, he says, And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and elders of the people came unto him as he was eating, and said, By what authority duest thou these things, and who gave thee this authority? Mercy? Who gave thee this authority? And Jesus answered and said, It is not important for any man to give unto me authority, but I do these things by the appointment of God. Is that what Jesus said? Excuse me, everybody. Did Jesus say it doesn't matter, I don't need any man to give me any authority? No, he gave an answer. Look at the answer. Jesus answered and said and said, I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I would likewise tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven or from men? And they reason within themselves. And they said, If we stay from heaven, he will say unto us, Why do you not believe him? But if we shall say of men, we fear for the people, for all hold John as a prophet and Jesus. And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. Hallelujah. Are you listening to me now? Listen to this. Jesus Christ, when he came into this world, right, had a basis for authority, because when he came, he went to John the Baptist when John was baptizing, Amen. And he was baptized by John. Let's tend to Luke. Have you found Luke? Amen. Luke Chapter 4. Was it chapter 3? All right, now, when all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also been baptized. Jesus was also baptized. Amen. Jesus was also baptized praying the heaven and praying the heaven was open. Let's look at it also in Matthew 3, Matthew chapter 3. That may be nicer. Verse 13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and cometh down to me. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh asked to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him, Amen. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straight away out of the water, and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him, and a voice from heaven saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, Amen. Now the point I'm trying to make here is that Jesus Christ was baptized by John. He came from Galilee all the way to Jordan just to be baptized and to submit himself to John's preaching and baptism. And to be baptized means to be included when we are baptized. Is that not the way you will join the church? So he joined the revival and the ministry of John. So that's why Jesus, when they asked him by what authority duty, he said John's baptism. Is it from God or is it from man? That's the basis of my talk when you can answer that. So if you say it's not from God, the people themselves say, oh, this one, you are lying, it's from God. And if you say it's from God, the same person who you say is from God is the. One under whom I have submitted. Oh, you don't understand. Yeah, the same person is the one under whom I am submitted, and I have submitted myself to him, John, Amen. So Jesus Christ himself was submitted and then that is where before he started preaching. He had the voice coming from and said, this is my son, I like him. Everybody look at him, look at him. He's gone for baptism. I'm very happy that he has submitted himself. Amen. So there is a place where God puts you in a place. But there is also a place where a. Man also confess. Somebody who is being used by God also confess upon you. Some. Authority. Are you listening to me? Yes. And when John baptized Jesus, he was not called Jesus the anointed. It was just Jesus who had been baptized. But now he was going to earn his authority. Are you listening to me? So in my life as well, even though I announced in my church that I was a pastor, I went to a church in London because now the Ghanaian ones did not seem favourable to me. And by the grace of God, our university had been closed down for one year by President Rawlings, the Chairman Rawlings at that time. And so I was in London and I joined the church. The victory and I was a faithful member. In fact, by the time I was before I left, the pastor called me as I 'cause I was playing the drums and the piano and I was in the music group and I was, I was bringing people to church all the time. The pastor called me and said he wants to train me to be a pastor, to pastor the church with him. And I said, well, I have to go back to Ghana to go to, I'm in medical school and the school has reopened. But it was a very wonderful thing and I was faithful. I brought a lot of people to the church. Oh, I bought Kenneth Higgins books and distributed to people. I said take, take, take, take, read. I'll. Come. For you, I used to go for them in the morning, come to church, evening, come, come, come. I brought all the backsliders, Ghanaians who had backslidden in London. I brought them to the church and the church was growing. The pastor was a white man. All the members became black. Is it not wonderful? So. In 1991, I went to London in December and I called myself Pastor Bassett. I want to be ordained and you ordain me, he said. Why not? I know you. You've been here with us. I'll ordain you. Come along. 2nd of December 1992 or one, either one or two. There I was. He laid hands on me in the church, ordained me. He gave me my certificate. I've ordained you to the ministry of Jesus, of Jesus Christ, to preach the gospel. You are ordained to baptize, to confirm, to do everything. And I was ordained publicly because it also has its place. What do you think? Then when I became a Bishop, I was using the Bishop. Nick called me, he said my friend. You cannot stand in a church and announce that you are a Bishop. It is wrong. And I explained to him, I said, look, the word Bishop means this, Timothy, this, this, this that. He talked and talked and talked. I said I see sometimes when somebody is. Talking, you know, even if you don't agree, you know, sometimes good to just let me just do this thing, he said. I need to be consecrated. I can't just get up and say, what do you mean? You can't just get up and say you are a Bishop, you need to be consecrated by a College of bishops. So after I'm listening to him, you know, that's another thing when somebody is speaking, just listen. So I, I decided to listen. So I found there was a major council established in the UK, Archbishop there, charismatic Archbishop over a whole lot of churches all over the world and a big ministerial organization. And the, the leader was an Archbishop. He's dead now. And there were only two archbishops, I think himself and Archbishop Hidahosa. And then I applied to them. And the time came in London. I went and I had a formal ceremony and I was consecrated as a Bishop and anointed with the ropes and all the ceremonies and everything fully. And I became a full Bishop under the authority of that organization, the government of the United Kingdom. Yeah, and I have. Full rights as a legal Bishop in this world. Legally, according to human. Oh yeah, I fulfilled all right justice, because this is the word he was telling me. You need to know that you can't just be there and stay. I was fully causing a church in the UK. Not my church, another church. Fully. That we had a ceremony. I wore the tin, the mitre, I wore the There was a carpet, small one that the poops were I wore, wore oh what? The dresses, everything fully with my stuff and everything as they were consecrating me, they were giving me. They wear this, then you wear that, then you do this, then I had to come this, then starve the crosses and then. Hey. Got my cross, my ring, my this folly by a, By a. Born again, charismatic Archbishop. I was consecrated as a Bishop. I was already. But you see, there is a place for a human element because it also shows that you you have submitted yourself to other authorities that existed in the system. Are you understanding what I'm saying? Yeah. So if you listen to the first part of the message and you don't listen to this part, you you ran away with wrong messages. Yeah, that's why you should listen to the whole thing. When you listen to Pat, then you start going where? We went to the cabin. Bishop told her that you just have to be announcing whatever you are. You say it especially if nobody asks you. You say what you are. From today, call me Papa. Are you listening to me? So in in the United Kingdom and in the world and in the United Kingdom, I am a legally consecrated and ordained Bishop with all the rights and privileges of a Bishop of the Church of England. I mean, what the right and legal privilege of a Bishop of the Church of England? That is the right, the right to even attend, I think House of Commons or House of Laws or all those things. I have all those privileges only have not been using them. Are you listening to me? Yeah. So it's very, very, very, very, very important. Amen. All right, So the God must give you authority is the first key. 2nd is man must also give you authority to understand. That's what I've been trying to explain all this. But I told you my message. I can say it in three sentences, but you may not understand. That's why I'm saying long, long, long, long things. But in the end, you understand. How many are understanding it better? Yeah. That's why I was trying to show you. You've got to work your way into the authority. Even though somebody has appointed you, even as his wife, you need to now fight. That's why second marriages are not easy. There's such a struggle for the new person to attain the position and, and, and then the place that was there before. It's not easy. Are you listening to me? Are you listening? All right then #3 To gain authority and to become a man of spiritual authority, you must have a human. That's the last point. You must have a human or a man human reference. Which is what I mean. I just told you a human and a human reference. Now, John Wesley, I have this book, you know, which has the, you see John West being challenged on the field. Somebody came and said. Who are you? How do you preach? Like this. And he said, I preach here, I'm ordained into this ministry by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who has ordained me to be a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For I am a man set under everybody, say under, under, under, under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto 1. Go, and he goeth unto another, Come, and he cometh, and to myself, and do this, and he doeth it. And when Jesus heard these things, he marveled, and turned him about, and said unto the people that follow him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith. No, not in Israel. Amen. How did the Centurion show that he was a man of authority? By saying that he himself was under authority. Not that he was over authority, but he was. Under authority that I have somebody that I am under. Let me tell you something, that is what makes you a man of authority. The fact that you are also under somebody, even as you listen to me pretty, you can realize that there are people that I listen to Anybody who is a man of authority is under authority. That is what makes you a man of. And as soon as you remove that or that's what rebels don't know, when you remove that thing, you don't have a basis for being in charge because you have struck what was over you. That's why pastors who rejoice. When you see rebels, I realize that you don't understand what the ministry is about. Yeah, there is a film. I think all of us should get to what is called The Bounty. The Bounty. It's a true story of some sailors who set off from England and when they got to some island, some of the people fell in love with the women on the island and they decided not to go back to England or whatever. And the captain was very hard on the people. And in the end he and the the rest of the soldiers, the the rest of the people in the ship, they overturned the power of the captain and put the captain in a boat, a small boat. When they were going back, he put the captain in a boat with, they said all those who go with him should go with him. And when the captain was going into the boat, he asked the man the the guy who was leading the river said, can you lead this rubble? Can you lead them? By which authority? Will you lead them? You have no basis to I am studying here by the authority of the King and the Queen of England, who has put me here in command of this boat. By which authority will you lead? And he asked him the last question, Can you lead this rebel? Then he said to him, You are doomed. And he got into the small boat and he went. You can never leave people you have led to fight people, those who are you. You are sacking your Bishop from over you. You have what? It's just a matter of time. Those people who you have you have removed from over your head. All those people will gather together and throw you out also because they they know what is lawlessness. Lawlessness, Lawlessness has been shown to them. Your authority is based on the fact that you are under something. If you want, you can experiment with authority and see, come out from under authority and see what will happen to your life. Everybody, even Jesus Christ himself was under authority. John, the John Wesley, he was under authority, rebellion. And that's why even the Reformers, they didn't want to leave the Catholic Church. They said we don't rebel. We are not starting a new church. We are not trying to spoil things or start. We must reform internally. Remove it from. Over your head and see where you stand. That's when you see what will become of you. So those of us who are always fighting those above us, hacking away. With saw and axe, anybody who is on top of you, your pastor, you take Axe to be knocking him from below. If you are not under somebody, why should somebody be under you? Why should somebody be under you when you are not under somebody? It is good for your people to see that you are under somebody. I want to give it to you in front of your people. So when he came to my church, do you see, he presented me with a sword. And he said that there are a few people who have been whatever, whether we had a whole lot of things, that he has a lot of things that he said. And he gave the thing to me in front of myself. But I want to do it in front of you. I can do it in my chair, but I'll prepare to do it in front of your people. It is good for people to see and know that you are under something and that that's what gives you authority. You people feel that if I mention this name or I mention. If you listen to me preaching, you always hear certain names and that shows you that spiritually I am under something. There is something over me and that gives me more. It does not weaken my authority. It strengthens my authority. Its trade makes me more stronger and powerful. Yeah, it makes me stronger and more powerful and establishes me more. That's why the centurion was saying that I am under somebody, so I have power. I am under something. Don't be angry with what is over. You don't want it. You don't like. Go out and do whatever you want to do, but as you hack. It like one time, you know, somebody said some. People are trying to retire me in this city. Are you listening to me? He said some people are trying to retire me in this city, but I cannot be retired. This is like people want to retire, they want to retire, retire, you go away. Then he said I cannot be retired. Then he went on to say what they don't know is that when I am gone from that chair, the thing that is fighting me will start to fight them. That is what you don't know. And that thing that is fighting him is fighting him. And because he's fighting him, he can't fight you. You are covered by his existence. He is receiving Bros for you. He's receiving bullets for you. Nobody, if he's so bad, leave him. And still she will not leave him. So what do you want? You want to use his meat for kebab? What do you want to do with him? People who? I'm now moving to things that can give you more spiritual authority. I see you becoming a man of authority. First Corinthians chapter 4, verse 15. Now, the next way that you can give that gives rise to authority is when you give birth to something. When you give birth to something, it gives rise to a lot of authority. Yeah, it's like a child. Once you've given birth to the child, there's a certain authority that you have which nobody has. You say to him, come and he cometh. Go and he goeth. Hallelujah. Are you listening to me? Don't run away from pioneering a church or starting something. It is God's way of giving you great authority. Hallelujah. Don't retreat from that difficult work of starting something. It is rather God's blessing. Are you listening to me to give you more authority and make you a man of significance. Don't be happy with inheriting things when even you are put in a position. Start new branches and new things about that old thing that you have that gives you authority. Once you have given birth to something, I tell you there is a certain power you have. I mean, I have a lot of power in my church because I started by and there's hard. There's hardly anybody who. Can challenge me in a certain way, You know, because of a certain authority that I have. I have been brought something forth. It's true. But most of you were not there when I was starting the church. You were not there when I said I'm a pastor, when I stood in the room and I said from today I'm a pastor. Do you understand? You are not there. You came along. When you came you met me. There is a certain authority that I have by having started a thing. So don't run away when you are being sent to start a church, when somebody is asking you go start this, do this, start a choir, start a group, start a fellowship, start a ministry. Don't think that it's something that is trying to spoil. Rather, the starting of a new thing is the releasing of God taking you into a higher level of authority. I'm telling you, if you go to Christian action faith, you see this Jericho hour that they have, that's our Bishop, James SA. He has been doing this Jericho hour for years. There is a certain authority that he has over that thing that he's doing, which I mean, you can't take it away from him. It is what he has been doing in the church. Test them money, money who will come to church, But he started his having his money instead for years. When you go there now, test them money, you see house and cars. He would think President Guvo has come there for a program. There is a certain authority that comes by having started something, having brought forth something. Those of you who ran away from this hard work of starting, of beginning, of starting, starting branches, starting churches, starting new things, starting a past, starting something, you are not wise. God has given you rather the roads that takes you higher and takes you further. Paul said it. He said he was telling that I'm your father. He says for though you have 10,000 instructors. He said he was telling that I'm your father. He says for though you have 10,000 instructors in. Christ you have not many fathers. Why? Why is he saying Father? He says, Because for in Christ I, I, I have begotten you through the gospel I brought you. Forth. You were not there and I made you come into existence because I have begotten you. I have brought you forth. I brought you into existence. Without me, you would not have existed. That's why I'm telling you that I'm your Father. I brought you. You did. Not exist. I made you exist. I made you come into this world. That's why I have power over you. And that's why you can see the things you could write to them. Cast this one into hell. Put this one here. Do this. Change this. Start this. Do that. Love this. That's talking to them, blasting them, he said. I'm going to talk like a fool. Now who are those people who are challenging me this, this, this and that? Because I came here to bring you into existence, can challenge you, that 1000 people can come and eat, but there's no one like me who brought you into this world. It's authority. I'm talking about you rising from the common groups around and becoming a person of authority, somebody who is in a place, not just because it was given. To you, but you have created something, I've built something, you have brought forth something. Don't be afraid of starting something. Do you remember that when Jesus said that before Abraham, even John the Baptist, he knew he could not compare himself with Jesus. Do you know that John the Baptist knew that he could not compare himself with Jesus? He could not compare himself then to John chapter 1. I will show you how he could not compare himself. John chapter one, verse 29 The next day John seeth coming Jesus, seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. This is he who of whom I said, After me cometh a man that is prepared before me. In other words, he has more authority than I have. Why? For he was before me, simple and short. He was before me. He was there before me, ain't he? Now He is prepared before me. Are you understanding? He was before me, just being around longer. Gives you more. Authority so if you want to increase your toilet, try and aim to stay around for a long time Billy Graham and Kenneth Higgins and Oral Roberts and all these guys, the authority they have is mostly by having. Been in the system for years. Without falling, without scandals, without troubles. Without all these things, they have just been there. That has given them authority. They have been able to sit on the chair. People have tried to retire them, but they cannot be retired. Benihin may be doing miracles and having crusades with millions, but he cannot be compared with Oral Roberts. There is something about Oral Roberts that is not Benihin. Benihin needs about 30 more years before he can be Oral Roberts. How many understand what I'm trying to say? It's that he needs, not that he's just good at doing, but he has to stay around for a long time before he will have the kind of authority and figure and and and and and maturity. That's somebody like Oral Roberts had, even though he has more crusade, bigger things than there is something about the fathers when, when, the patriarchs when. When Jesus was on the Mount of Transfiguration, the younger Bishop told me. When Jesus was on the Mount of Transfiguration, it. Was not Joshua who? Was appearing or Elijah, but the fathers, Moses and Elijah, the fathers were the ones who came to see Jesus, But the small boy, Joshua and others, they were nowhere. Inside was Moses and Elijah. The fathers, the patriarchs appeared in the vision because Joshua was Moses. Joshua did what Moses could not do. Moses couldn't make it. Joshua made it, Elijah had twice as many miracles, but when it comes to who are the patriarchs and those who must appear to have certain discussions with Christ, the young young boys were nowhere. It was Moses and Elijah the Father give the Lord a shadow praise. The Patriots, those who have been there longer, that's why even though Joseph was good, he was moral, he was theirs. He was that. But he's not like Jacob, who had all these children and he survived. Different wives, different problems, different things. He was surviving. Joseph was just very good, but he was not a father. So sometimes you see some people in university. They call themselves Papa. What time Bishop Nick went to the university, he saw some University of Cape Coast students. They were called. He said, come, you small boy, you call yourself Papa. Who have you brought forth anybody from your voice and you call yourself Papa? Come on, Nilda, let me pray for you. He said. You are not boys. You are not men of God. You are boys of God. Say I'm a boy of God. They all say we are boys of God. Then he laid hands on and said, received the wisdom of Ahito fell. Yeah, I tell you, the longer you stay your. Authority is becoming more. Even when you are not doing anything, your authority is still more. There may be younger, younger ones who are doing what what is, but somehow there is a stature and there is an authority and there is a place that you have just by having been around. And once our Bishop Nick told me, he said it's not what you are doing, it's what have you been through, What have you survived? It's not what you. Are doing, he said. What have you been? Through what have you survived? That's what makes you a father. That's what the ministry is about. What? Because you see, you can. What have you suffered? You can be in the system. But you have not yet seen the serpents creeping in. You see, as we are here, we can be having a nice meeting. Here we come, a snake from here sweeping in. When the snake comes and is able to come and we are able to deal with them, we still continue having our service. Do you understand that? We have survived a snake? And suppose another one comes from here and another one comes. The church is like that. It's like we are in a hall and snakes are coming in. Snakes are coming in. How to concentrate and that's what the ministry is about. What? Because you see, you can, what have you suffered? You can be in the system, but you have not yet seen the serpent creeping in. You see, as we are here, we can be having a nice bit and here we come, a snake from here sweeping in. When the snake comes and is able to come and we are able to deal with them, we still continue having our service. Do you understand that we have survived a snake? And suppose another one comes from here, and another one comes. The church is like that. It's like. We are in a hall and snakes are coming in, snakes are coming in. How to concentrate and still be preaching and fighting. The snake care and the snake care put somebody in charge of this window, another door that I can be preaching. Even the people are not concentrating. Their attention is on the 7th and other things as you are preaching. That was the ministry. So when you have been around for a long time, it's a matter of what have you survived? What have you been through? Not that you stood there. I'm coming to start because the serpent becomes at 4:00 comes this two o'clock 7:00 and the serpent that you don't deal with in Genesis by Revelation, it has turned into a diagon. That's true. The. Serpent that you don't deal with in the book of Genesis, Bishop Nichtomi said. The serpent that Adam didn't deal with in Genesis, by Revelation, it has turned into a diagon, served for a long time. I said survive for a long time, been in the system for a long time. People will come and meet you and you say, wow, I've been here for 29 years. Oh, I'm still around, still surviving. That gives you authority. I've been here, you have been died, you have suffered, you have been through things. Hallelujah. Now, the ability to feed somebody gives you authority when you turn with me to Isaiah chapter 3, when you are able to feed. That's why, pastors, your major gifts and strength must be your preaching. You must be a good preacher, Hallelujah. And even the fact that you feed somebody gives you a certain authority over the person's life. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Isaiah chapter 3. That's one. For behold, the Lord of hosts doth take away from Jerusalem and Judah the state and the staff, and the whole state of bread and the whole state of water. The mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the captain of 50, the honourable God is saying that he's taking away all these kind of people. He says, and I will give children to be their Princess, and babe shall rule over them, and the people shall be oppressed in the spy, and everyone by his neighbor. And the child shall behave instead proudly against the ancient and the base against the honourable. When a man shall take hold of his brother, or the brother of his house, and say Thou hast clothing, be our ruler. Let this ruin be under thy hand. In that day he shall swear.
