03. Called to Suffer 3

Welcome. To. Track #3 of the road to Calvary, Philippians, chapter 3, verse 10. Paul said that I may know him. Are you there? That I may know him? This is a man who prayed and saw Jesus have revelations, and the Bible is saying, He said that I may know him. And then what else do I want to know? The power of his resurrection I am, and what? The fellowship of his sufferings. I want to experience the fellowship of his sufferings. This is what my prayer is, being made conformable unto his death, that is, that I should be confirmed to the death of Christ. Hey, do you see why? Do you see why 2000 years have gone by? The Apostle. Paul is bearing. Fruit in Commonwealth Hall in the year 2004 because I'm constantly quoting from his writings. His fruit have lasted 2000 years have gone by. God is still using Paul to minister in Ghana, in Europe, in Africa, everywhere. Do you see why somebody's bearing to it last forever? Do you see why we started church? Five years, 10 years, the church has vanished, 3 years is gone. Our ministry, cancer, whatever international, global, well, angelic ministry you have, it's disappeared. Just a few years, just a few years. But Paul's prayer that I may know him, that I may know his power, that I may know the fellowship of his servant, I will, I will fellowship with the sufferings and have interaction with sufferings of Christ Jesus. And I will be, it will be so mad that I will be made conformable to the death of Jesus Christ. Hey, I think if we were to pray this prayer past us, I think perhaps our life will change. Yeah. Do you see why I wonder how long my church will last? Lighthouse, I wonder. Oh seriously, I wonder how many years after I am gone will it still be there? How many years? You see the few books that I've written for, how many years would they be read? Will will they be read in? Will somebody read my book in only 10 years, not 1000 or 100? What I mean is that in the year 2034, will the name, will my name even be mentioned in terms of the text work? Would somebody hold a book and read it in 30 years time, by which time, if I'm still alive, I should be getting towards 80? Would anybody be interested? But look at Paul. Not 100 years old, not 1000 years, 2000 years. And I'm holding his, his writings here printed on the computer. I have reason for his writings to different churches and his bearing fruits here. Babo says I have chosen you and ordained you, that you go for that you bear fruit and that your fruit will abide. How long after you have gone will any of the fruits that you burn still be around any of the works? Is there anything lasting that you are producing? Let us ask ourselves this question at this camp. You know, let me tell you something. Look, the best way to help yourself is to be honest. You see, when you are not honest, then you can never solve the problem. When you are not honest, you can look at yourself and say this is that if you press your breast and you have, what do you call it? Cancer? Do you see? Look, if you don't accept that there is something there and not only are you pressing here, you are pressing here. And after you are pressing here, you are pressing here. And then you are pressing your back and you are pressing your chest and you are pressing your brain and it is everywhere and your liver. So sometimes it may be in our interest. Sometimes when something is not nice, look at it and say, you know, I'm not like this. I don't pray for conformable or conform to his death. I haven't prayed some before. Never. I don't pray for the fellowship of his sufferings. I am very different from Paul. I have not even written a tract. How much more a letter. I believe that the Lord has great things for us. Amen. The next one, Colossians one verse 24. Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body's sake, which is the Church. First Thessalonians 3 Three. No man should be moved by these afflictions for yourselves. Know that we are appointed there unto we are appointed unto afflictions. No one should be moved by trouble. You are appointed unto afflictions. Amen. Your appointment is to afflictions. Hallelujah. How many are glad that you are appointed on 2 Mercedes Benzes? Is it not amazing the way we preach now? You would think that everybody is supposed to be a rich man. Is it not true that the message everybody is supposed to be a fantastically rich person? And that it is saying that we have been appointed unto affliction, so nobody should be sad of the afflictions? Hallelujah. Hebrews chapter 2 for verse 10. It says, For It became Him for whom are all things, and by whom are all things? In bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. The captain of their salvation is to be made perfect through sufferings. How many want to be made perfect? To be made perfect you are going to have to experience some hardships. Do you know, I had a, one of my pastors in London and I, he said he wanted to be in the ministry. He has just finished his master's in London and he had a good job. He was working for this bank, one of these big banks or insurance, I don't know one of those things. And he had been pressurizing me that he wants to be in the ministry. So I said, OK, you can go. So I sent him to a developing country. When his family heard about it, they were very angry. What is this? The other thing? Is he mad or his family members talking? He has just finished his Masters, he's now in London. He has a bright future. And even other pastors, you'll be surprised. So one day somebody was asking, so how? How come the people are doing all these things? Do you know why they're doing? Because this is what I'm preaching to them. Because if you preach like this, you talk about laying down your life, you talk about suffering for God, people will now begin to believe that they are supposed to suffer something for God. But because we have not been hearing, we've never heard it, nobody knows that he's supposed to suffer anything. And therefore our people who are supposed to be the army are immobilized, money grabbing, silver and gold, grasping earthly minded people. We have never had such a large crowd of grasping, grasping Christians. Do you understand when I say grasp? Grasp means to hold tight. We are holding tight to everything and the devil is catching us. I once told my children of a story of a monkey who went into the forest. He went with other monkeys and they had some groundnuts and they were eating and so on. And then suddenly one of the monkeys found a coconut and there was a little hole at the top of the coconut and there was one of the groundnut was inside the coconut. So the monkey put his hand in and took the groundnut and as he was bringing his hand out of the coconut, the first couldn't come out through the hole so he was trying to pull it out. I was told my children he was trying to pull it out, pull it out and the hand couldn't come out. It became dark and the monkey said to the other monkey, we are going, we have to go down because the hunter will come. So now the monkey said, no, you are jealous of my grandma, you are jealous of what I have. You don't want because I have it and you don't have it. You don't want me to have it. And so I said no, you've got to leave it. Don't hold on to it. Leave it and let's go. Said no, you are jealous of what I have. You don't because you don't have it and I have it. This is why you are preaching the message you are preaching. So all the monkeys left there. And then the hunter came. And when the hunter came, he threw a net over the the monkey was still startling to pull his arm out and he caught it. And you realize that the monkey was caught. I will not tell you the end of the story. I have told my children but the monkey was caught because he was holding onto the ground. The devil is catching us because we are holding onto things. He that will keep his life will lose it. He that will lose his life will get it. Is opposite and we are holding on. And because we are holding on, because we are holding on, the enemy is just making me Smith of us. We are nothing before him. Money grabbing Monica, do you know how much I would have been earning in America? I have a classmate and she's even my junior by many years. She was telling me she said if I was to do 1 certain programs I would earn $50,000 a month as a doctor in America if that is what I wanted to. 50,000 you calculate that's 500 million. Is this 50,000 dollars, 500 million or 5 billion, 5, 500 million, yeah, half a billion a month, Yeah, that would be my salary a month. So in a year and 6 billion and I can learn Ghana some money. That is the profession I put down to come and be here reading the scriptures to you. You may think that I have everything I have about it has cost me something to stand here. There is no one who is doing something in the work of God who has not paid the price for what you are doing. Amen. He says the captain of their salvation is made perfect through sufferings. When a government attacked my church, broke down my walls, persecuted me, Hey, nobody in the government wanted to have anything to do with me, huh? Those powerful people, they were so powerful. I went to see the Vice president, minister of this, minister of the OH. Walking through the castle, pray, praying for help. Nobody. There was a time when I go home, 8 cars accompanied me in a convoy. 8 cars in a convoy. There was a time when I come to the office there are gangs with AK47. I'm sitting there with the gangs and being protected in the church. I later on, at first I was annoyed but later I was. I was happy because I'm being made perfect through the things that as I have suffered it. I am more humble, you see, because I met certain pastors and they asked me that do you pray? Do you pray? No, these troubles you are going through, do you pray? The one asked me, do you do prayer walks, prayer walks? I said prayer walks. I said, we walk and pray. We walk in the tent and we pray. Then he asked me, do you, do you do communion? Communion and other things? Then I met one guy. The guy said to me, you see, I realized that you don't have power because you see Oyedepo in Nigeria, some people said they were coming to break his church like that. He told them one block, one life. If you take one block, one life. And he said this can never happen over there. He said you don't have authority and power and we we were praying against the people and they were growing fatter in the in the area. Nobody died. I tell you after now nobody has died, all the people who persecuted us, who fought us. Look, they are stronger, healthy. They are big in some have gone to London. They are prospect. Oh, but I realized that through all these things, I am being made perfect. I have been humbled. Yeah. Look, God allows all pastors and people to come and question me. Do you pray that those. I have been praying. You fast, you fast. You do communion. This is somebody's use your authority. One block, one life. So what about you? They are broken. All your words. You are just there. No power, no authority. Not even one life up to now. No life. That has been six years now. One block, one life. And for you so many blocks have gone down, a whole world has gone down. But you see, I am being made perfect. The humble. It has taught me about politics. Or when I see these people, I see that they are all powerless. There is no government with power. They are nothing. That's why I don't court now I'm mature. You see, my attitude towards them is the same as Jesus attitude towards punctual pilot. Hero, you never see Jesus eating with punctual pilot. We are going for dinner. He's going to visit punctual pilot to discuss certain things that he can use to advance the cause of the ministry in the nation. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You not see Jesus doing that. Or did you see Jesus going for setting, setting committee meetings to see how to invade and affect Parliament and other No, no, no, no. When he saw them and they said Herod was asking Do you know that I have power is that you don't have power. You have no power to you have you have no power except he'll be giving to you from our bank. Then he told them the one who brought you Me. Yeah, the one who brought me. The thing is, weather yours. The man was becoming afraid. He sent him back to Pontius Pilot quickly. Pontius Pilot took what I was watching his stance. I mean, a very rigid person that he was afraid, you see. So I realized that it has, it has perfected my thoughts. One day I was sitting with the president. We were having lunch with some other people and then at the end people were coming to take pictures or everybody was coming. We took a lot of pictures. I was sitting there eating. Then one of the visit Americans came and said to me, so I noticed that you are not going to take a picture with the president. Is there is there any political results or no? I don't see why I should take a picture with the president, take a picture with Kennedy, you know somebody to take picture with the president if I have. But you see in our pastors offices mostly we have pictures with presidents. If you go to Reverend Jesus of you see Jesus with Herod, they put a picture like that. Jesus with conscious. I let you take a picture like that. It's marvelous. I've been made perfect, I've been improved. I'm more humble. When I told do you pray, Sir? We pray, we pray, but nothing happens. You apply for me. No prayer works all these days, but we do. But nothing happens. And we are power. We are useless. One pastor came to sit and he said this can never happen in Nigeria. Never, never, never. It cannot happen. It has happened for us, it has happened. We are nothing and as you suffer, you become nothing. Nothing. Nothing broken. Nothing, Huh. But through. All that. God is working something in you. Your thoughts are different. Hallelujah. Do you know something? When you are suffering, you think differently. That's why sometimes God blesses us and then one area you say no, no, no blessing here. Because when everything is going well, you wouldn't think correctly. Something has to be pinching you small. It's true how many approaches are sometimes when the blessing come, it's like all areas. Then this area, the whole thing has become some way, just one, one area. Like Neyman. But I would say he was a great commander. He was a bat, he was a leper. It's like everything was OK, but there's some skin this in the armpits. He was powerful, but he was a leper. Hey, Lord, I tell you, this message is the power for your church and the power for your ministry. It is the power that we don't have. It is the power that we lack, the power that brings the salvation and consolation to the Church. The people must see us when we stand there. We mustn't reek of wealth and riches in silver and gold. We must reek of the sacrifice that we have made for the gospel. You know, pastors, and when you see us, we, we, you see, we, we feel that wearing gold rings, wearing gold chains, very looking, very pompous with our big Boo boos. And that is what is authority. That's not authority. That's not that's not what gives you authority. There is not. Let me tell you, there is nothing physical that you do that gives you authority. Get it into your mind. There's nothing that you do physically, neither your car. I used to think so. One time I bought a car. I said I want. You see, there are certain cars. When you drive, you have certain authority and certain aura that accompany the car, that accompany the car as you are moving. So there are certain cars. All these are delusions. I have come to see that real authority does not lie in a car, briefcase, certificate, school. Real authority. It comes from spiritual things, from something. Even as you lower yourself, you become more power. As you forgive, you become more power. You are feared. It's amazing. Hallelujah. Are you listening to me? No man should be moved by these afflictions. For yourself. Know that we are appointed. Are you moved by the suffering of standing? You see? And you know where the charismatic churches came from? It came from the fastings and the prayings of some people who used to pray in the gardens here. And today's Christian nobody goes to any gardens to pray. Nobody waits on God. All we are producing are grasping, grabbing, and we call ourselves the Church of the living God. But that's why we are here because God is curing us. I said he's healing us. Listen, we've finished almost enjoy the sufferings. It says, first Peter 111, searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ, which was indemn to signify, when it testified beforehand, the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow sufferings, and the glory that should follow. There is glory that shall follow, glory that shall follow. Amen, Amen. First be the 413. But rejoice in as much as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. Hallelujah, you may be seated. I don't want you to suffer too much. Amen. Are you there? So I believe that all these scriptures have made-up my case, that I'm trying to present very hard just as an introduction to the camp, that as we go through the different things that we need to go through, we have that mind. A church which doesn't fast anymore, which doesn't know how to sit in one place. Most of us to sit in one place for three hours and three, you can't. Yeah. I'm not afraid of telling you. I'm a pastor. I'm not afraid of you. Yeah, I'm not afraid of you. I'm telling you, you can't sit in one room in one place for three hours. You have to go somewhere. You have to answer a call. You have to move. You have to go out because you you don't have the discipline to be in one place and be there for three hours or for four hours. Huh. Oh, yeah. And there is no suffering. There is no glory. And we are powerless, no authority. We can't have all night on our own. Oh, yeah, me, I have all night on my own through the night. One man, all night in a room. I don't sleep till the morning. Yeah, day after day that I have all night, day after daylight that every day is all night in in my in my room. You can't and you won't. Oh, yeah. No, I'm preaching. I'm preaching. You can't stay. We want to have a computer by all means. You want to have a computer and do something with a computer. Why? Are you a computer scientist or are you a pastor? Are you a prophet? You can't be with God for three days on your own. Some of us, if we are with the president, who will be so nervous, I have to move, I have to do this, I have to do that. There is no quietness in our spirit. Look, promotion comes from God. Jesus moved into the weather to fast for 40 days a night. Hey, huh. We can't sit in one place like this. Look, I went to preach at the prison, condemn prisoners as I was preaching. That's when I understood where the law showed me. You see, I was preaching, strong preaching. I was talking about the rich man who went to hell. After I was preaching, one of the guys got out from there. He went out quickly. He went to do something. Then he came back and I continued preaching. Have you been to condemn Sir before? Condemn, Sir, is a place like this and the rooms are there, and then there's a place at the back hall and I was preaching. All of them are murderers. The leader of the fellowship. He has murdered somebody and he's the leader of the fellowship. As I was preaching, the same guy got up again. He went here he went. He came. So I was thinking, this man has been sentenced. I mean, he's condemned. He will never be free from that space there. So the few minutes that I'm preaching, what is he going to do and where is he going to do what he is going to do? He got up from the church, went out to do what is whatever he was doing. Then he came back. He went back again, Then he came back. And that's when I saw that to be busier is a spirit because a prisoner who is condemned, reverend for the rest of his life, that is where they live. That's four square there and he's very busy. I am preaching, he's busy. What are you doing there? Accommodation is provided, food is provided, water is provided. You don't need transport, you don't need anything there. He's still very busy, so busy that us are busy. He has to come, he has to go out, he has to come, he has to go out. There is no rest. Babo says that we have entered into his rest. Those who have ceased from their labours have entered into his rest. Sometimes it's even suffering to stay in one place. God wants us as ministers to know how to stay in one place. A pastor, you must be able to be in A room alone from morning to evening without sleeping, Or if you sleep, then you wake up, but I mean, you can't sleep the whole time. And you see, our ministries are like dwarfs, Midget ministries. The fruit is not there. But God wants to take us to another level and we've got to pay the price. We've got to take up our cross and we've got to follow Jesus and we've got to go on the path that God is prescribing for. Listen, if you read the Bible honestly, you will see that you are different from the Bible. And if you are not honest with yourself, you will never change and improve. Look me, I used to preach without miracles or these kind of things, those type of whatever. I didn't have anything to do with it. But as I kept reading the Bible, I said no, I'm different from what I'm seeing in the Bible. I saw Jesus heal this person, He healed this. He, no matter how I want to change it is there and it's different from me. Because of that I kept on gearing towards miracles. That is why today I am having healing Jesus crusades and I'm seeing many miracles, including even raising of the dead blind scene. I've seen everything that you see in the Bible. I've seen some before virtually from the woman with the issue of blood to the blind eye, deaf, cripples, dead, almost every miracle you see in the Bible. I've seen one before with dead whatever. Why have I seen it? Because I refuse to. I refuse to lie to myself that what I'm reading is different from what I am. Don't lie to yourself. Don't say don't discard all these scriptures. God has given you more than 100 scriptures today. Will you throw them all away? Oh, then there's something wrong with you. That's right. There's something wrong with your heart. There's something wrong. You didn't want to change, you didn't want to improve. Let's look at it carefully. All through your life, this Scripture, the Bible says the Scripture cannot. You do err not knowing the Scriptures. You know your tradition, especially the church you came out and the way you grew up. But there's something higher and God wants to take us to a higher place. Look at your life. Look at your life and be honest. That is how come today I am having healing ministry and look at the crusade that we had. You see the glory of God appearing over the 10th in the picture. Where is it? Yeah, If you see the that's not a, that was not a, that's not a moon. There's no moon. It's just a very cloudy night. It was almost going to rain. Actually, we thought it was going to rain and then in in an instant, it was there and it was, it was not there. Marvelous. Try to believe what you are seeing when you look at the last. I mean, I'm, I'm not here to lose anything. I'm here to gain. Then you tell yourself, no, I have to change something. Something must change. There must be a going forward. I looked at my church and I said Yungicho has 700,000 members and I'm struggling to have a few people in my church. There's something I can get, I want it. Something I am different from I want it. It's possible, Pasoko, it's possible. I said it's possible, it's possible. Let's have it, let's do it, let's take it, let's take the cross. I said let's take the cross. Let's become a group of ministers who are feared. How many are surprised? You know why Islam is becoming powerful? Everybody would have thought that when they go and bomb the World Trade Center, everybody will hate Muslims and say these are bloody people. They are mad dressed. No more people are going to Islam now because the sacrifice people are saying. I was talking to one Muslim. He was saying that you see somebody dying for A cause. It's it's, it's, it's inspires you. We will not die for it. Even to travel. We will not go from here to somewhere. Our village. I went to Pecky for a funeral. When we got there, there was some church in some robes wearing some red robes and some, and some of the charismatic Christians I was with were so just like that. Whatever, so, so sorry, church or whatever church. I said. Don't say that. Don't speak. You wouldn't come here. So the people with their robes and whatever those are, the God ordained angels that are in this town whom God is using to say whatever they are saying. So you shut up. You wouldn't come here. If I send you here, you won't come. Lose nothing church. Suffer nothing, church. Give up nothing, church, money, get in church. I said money, get in church. And it's surprising, you see how I'm preaching as if I don't need money. I need more money than all of you. But rather this message, you'll be surprised, makes people give. I went to preaching in a in a certain city in America, the church is full of millionaires and I preach something like this. I mean this same type of vein. And I told him that we have we have become a phantom of the real church after the message and I'll preach. And I said, maybe the pastor will never invite me here again. I don't mind, but I'm going to preach the truth. I said look, if one of the rich men in your church was to die and go to hell, you see what the rich man said he when he came back from, he said tell them I have 5 brothers, today's rich man. They are not talking like that. They are saying other things. But if you're a rich man, go to hell one day and come just for 24 hours or even 3 hours stop over you. You would change your advice to your pastor. Even when your pastor is preaching, you will stand up. They will stand up and say pastor, what are you saying? Tell the people about the real what are you talking? Say economic, economic empowerment of the believers. What are you saying? What are you telling the people, Pastor, what are you saying? Tell the people that have been there. Tell them about the reality of this thing. That's right. You will get up. You will get up in the church and say look what you are preaching this whatever thing you are. It's the delusion. I preach powerfully on this line after church. You know, they have millionaires in ranges, ranges, one of the most wealthy millionaires. He came, he told my wife, he said this is the most we didn't know who he was at that time. We didn't know who he was. This is the most powerful message I've had in my whole life, including the messages of my pastor. Then as if that was not enough, then he went and told somebody else, there's somebody else who called. How have this somebody called? Then he went to the associate pastor and said, this is the most powerful method I've ever been preaching this church. This is the very wealthy man. You would think I'm AI said, look, I'm not against riches. And at the point I was trying to say, look, I'm not picking a gay because the way the message is going, you would think that we are against money, but we are not against money. Then the pastor, the guy called the pastor and said, I want you to know this the most powerful method I've ever been, including your messages. Don't be afraid of the truth, I said. Don't be afraid of the truth. Don't be afraid of losing anybody. When Jesus saw the rich man who came to join his ministry, what did Jesus tell him? Call Peter. When Peter came. Peter, you see, originally you were 12 disciples, but you know the ministry works through money and other facilities are needed to enhance our ministry. So this rich man who has come, I think we make him the 13th apostle. And you see here this rich man is not really an apostle, but just something to let him be encouraged so that he'll be around. You see, Peter, have you read Iglesias money answers all things. You see, Peter, you don't be too spiritual. You see, we needed to be practical. How to travel to Jericho and then kape norm up and down transportation, food and other things. So Tom, the two spiritual, this man is good for us. No, Jesus told them I'll go and sell all your assistant. Give it to the poor. Don't bring it to the church. Give it to the poor and come and let's go. Hey, is that how our current pastors do that? God bless you, Sir. You are welcome to the church. After church. We like to meet with you privately. You see the pastors move with rich people. Pastors don't move with pastors. Pastors don't move with assistant. They move with the richest people in the churches. Ziza, I said Zizo, pastors, we move with the richest man in the church, not with our associate pastors or assistant pastors. Is it not true? We fear money. We worship money. We fear the people who have money. We like money. Our hearts are with the money. Look, you think what I'm saying is to the kings of Israel were a prophecy about the church. Apart from David and one or two, there was nobody who said only God. Everybody has a little idol somewhere. It was only David who I don't have such things at all. I said it was only David and one or two of them who only had God as God. Everybody has had a little something in the pocket and a little God in the house and a little something that was being worshipped and being followed in addition to God, The last command of John. Beware of idols, little children. Most people have something else apart from God that we are really coming after. There's some little idol somewhere in the pocket. Especially there were mobile ones you could have kept at places. Richard had a mobile idol. Oh yeah, it was. That's why he was a man after gods with her, because even though he had everything and he had the power, there's one God in my Kingdom. There's nothing else apart from Jehovah. He worshipped him, He danced, he bursted him open like a child. Were different from all those other kings. Even those who obeyed him obey him. But then these things will be there, they will move, not the high places. Go and read kings. That's the second key. If you like, if you don't believe it, go and read it. It's the type of the leaders of God's people. A king is the leader of God's people, Israel, and a pastor today is the leader of God's people. That's right, few pastors have are working without idols. You think I'm lying? Light a fire and you will see. Search and you will see. Search my heart. You. You can and wouldn't be surprised if there's an idol in my heart. I wouldn't be surprised. That's why I'm praying every day for forgiveness and for mercy. Because you don't know it in your heart. That's why I said search your heart. What do you have to search if you can see? Amen. Are you listening to me? Listen carefully, because God is speaking to us. God is telling us. He's warning us, He's rebuking us. He's correcting us. He's trying to bring us back to the path. Bring me to the path of righteousness. Let me not be one of the kings of Israel who had an idol secretly hidden. It was. And also the worship God, who better than this? They worship God and they had one these ones. In addition, there's marvelous the leaders of God's people stand to your feet, everybody. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross. The emblem. So I cherish the old Dragon Cross. Tell my trolls. At last I lay down. And I. Will cling to your. All. Right. Just take your pen and write the words. You see, we are so prosperity, whatever church. We don't know this hymn. How many don't know this hymn? Yeah, we know, Abraham. Things are getting better. Things are getting better for the Lord is son. Things are getting better. I I went to a child. I see I am making progress. I saw the praises. I am making progress. I am moving forward. That is not praises. It's chanting, prosperity chanting. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross. The emblem, the emblem of suffering and shame. The emblem, The emblem E MB LEM. The emblem of suffering and shame. Have you got that on a hill far away?
