01- What It Means To Give Yourself Wholly

Welcome to track number one of Give Thyself Holy. Hallelujah. Father, we thank you for the opportunity that we have in Jesus name, Amen, right? The theme for our campus, Give thyself holy. I think you know what that means. All right, so second First Timothy chapter 4, First Timothy chapter 4, and we are going to be reading from verse #1 the spirit clearly says that in later times, some will abandoned the faith following deceiving spirits, some will abandoned the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. I'm reading from the NIV. Sometimes you should use a new version. It helps you to understand such teachings come through hypocritical liars alright, whose consciences have been seared with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods which God created to be received with Thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with Thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the Word of God and by prayer. Amen. If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths, OK Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives tales. Rather, train yourself to be godly, Train yourself to be godly, for physical training is of some value. But godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. Godliness has a promise for this life and then the life to come. Amen. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance. And for this we labor and strive that we have put our hope in the living God who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe, command, and teach these things. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift which was given to you through a prophetic message. When the bodies, when the body of elders laid hands on you. Be diligent in these matters. Diligent in what these matters. Be diligent in these matters and give yourself only to them, to these matters, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. Amen. Is it a powerful picture? This is Paul writing to a young man just like you. That's why he said do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, because you cannot be president until you are 40. Because of such rules, people tend to look down on a young person. And also because young people speak with a lot of idealism, but they they lack experience and you can see it when they speak, you see. So people tend to find young people funny when they speak. They know that it's not like that and it won't happen like that. Do you get what I'm saying? So when you speak as a young person, you, you, you find that people just sneer at you. So he's a small boy, he's a small girl. You get it. And, and there are and there are two reasons for that. The first reason is because you cannot be the president until you are 40. So it's almost like below 40, there's a sickness or there's some kind of a problem with you. And then the second reason is because of young, when young people speak out of idealism, I'm going to do this, after that, I'll do this, then I'll be this, then I'll get married, then my husband will do this, then my wife will do this. And then we will go here and then we'll do this. And and when an experienced person is listening, he just smiled. I said, it's not like that all. It's not like that. You get it. So that is these are the two things that make people look down on their young. So when you are a young person, you know, the first thing is the Bible says you shouldn't let anybody look down on you or like reduce you to nothing because you are young. And then the 2 problems which are you are not chosen, you know, because of your your age you, you, you have to somehow believe that God can make you able to do things even though you are young. And then #2 you have to stop speaking with idealistic things. You get it. And start accepting what grown-ups say as what will happen and how it will be. Yeah, Because when you come with your idealistic, I'll do this, I'll do this, I will do this, we'll do that, we'll go here, we'll come. I love we are doing this. You, you realise that the older people, when they hear you, they say, I thought about 8 years ago we were having elections in Ghana and I think one of the parties had a breakaway, one of our parties in Ghana. And the leader was a young person, you see. And I remember one day I was watching television and my mother-in-law was there. I don't know if she was there or she made a comment. And this guy came with his speeches about the theories, about things, how things, the economic system disemboted so many things, you know, And my mother-in-law just made a He's young. He's young. It's like theories. Yes. Yeah. You know, And I remember this guy, he, he also made a calculation for the election. You see, I think we have 200 constituencies. Oh, we had 200. We had 200. Yes. At that time. It was some years, many years ago. It's now 2:43. So at that time we had 200 constituencies. And he said that he had 100 foot soldiers in each of these. So he was guaranteed of 2 million votes, you see, which is theoretical because when the voting happened, there was nothing like 2 million. Because he said in every consider he has 100 foot soldiers, he's on the ground. I said wow. But an experienced person knows that when it comes to election, everybody is told by the people around him that you will win and that people really want you, you see, because they get money from you. So we are going to try very hard to follow the instruction of the Apostle. Amen. Let's continue in verse chapter 5. Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters with absolute purity. Now you will notice that it didn't say treat the older women with absolute purity, so that should tell every sister here that your attractiveness has an expiry date. Yeah, it has an expiry date. So it has an expiry date. So as you are sharing your home in a way and making yourself, you have to be careful. Your beauty and your attractiveness is like money in your pockets. You have to manage it well. If you don't manage it very well before you realise it is finished and you have not bought your taxi and you are, you are stuck. Are you listening to me? So your beauty is like, what? Money in your pocket? And you have to manage it well because it is what is attracting. Yeah. So when you see that a dragonfly has been attracted or a bee that things have been attracted, you may have to manage it well. Otherwise you see that throughout and especially if you are above average attractive you, you will suffer. Many insects will bite you before the time of your pollination. All right, when you get older, you will see that you will be walking on the road. Nobody will offer to give you a lift. Nobody will stop, nobody will say hello, nobody will even give you a heart. It's like a griffet who drinks a griffet who smokes A griffet who does other things but also comes to church. It's a griffet psyche. And at this camp we are casting away all kinds of criffet, a type A type of criffet. You see, it's not that you are against Christianity, but you are a griffet psyche, so you must castaway all shapes and types of Christianity. That's not clear. Yeah. Just like you are like a moral person, you are a school prefect type. It's like you are an assistant school prefect type. Teachers like you. Your prefect is psychedelic, but you are not. You don't. You are not into prayers. They are not into camps. They are not into fasting. They are not into meetings. They are not into other griefed brothers and sisters. All your friends are also griefed like her. When we were when we were in school, we the griefed, we also gave that name to those who were psychedelic. He's like, she's like. To give yourself to a complete degree, complete degree, full extent, OK, full extent, entirely, completely, totally, all together, all these are the words you are looking for. All totally. You get it. He has problems, but he likes me, He loves me and God once people who are giving themselves fully and totally. So today is a time where God is asking you give yourself totally. And it also means after school give yourself fully. You see, once you are in school you can give. Once you are in school you can give yourself to God fully as a student. Yes, you can give yourself to God totally as a student, and you can also give yourself to God totally as a worker, and you can give yourself only to His service to work for Him all the days of your life. Yeah, what better work is there than to do the work of the Lord? God is looking for people. Look, this is not a career class. I'm not here to improve your career in any way. Do you understand? I'm not here to improve your career. I'm here to tell you to give yourself holy to God. Yeah. The best way is to give yourself completely to the work of the ministry. Amen. All right. And now we never back down from that. And when we get to heaven, you will see that I was right. In fact, I want to bet with anybody when we go to heaven, if I'm not right, I'll give you some of the gold in my house, in my house. But that's what I'm sure that is a good idea to give yourself totally to the Lord, Amen. Give yourself holy, Amen. Proverbs 21 verse 26 Proverbs 21. We're going to read the 25, the 24, the Proud. OK Proverbs 21, verse 24 He there's 23 He who gars his mouth and his tongue gars his soul from troubles. Proud, haughty, scoffer are his names, who acts with insolent pride. The desire of the sluggard puts him to death, for his hands refuse to wet. All day long He is craving all the NIV says. All day long he craves for more while the righteous gifts and does not hold back. Amen. The righteous gifts without sparing. You see, a righteous person gives without holding back something. Yeah, I have not held back. And I hope not before God, any of my days of my life. Since I found him, I've given him all my days till I'm dead. I have no intention to be a politician, to give any of my days to politics or to any other profession other than the profession of serving the Lord. Amen. I am not holding back any. So a righteous person gives and does not hold back. So we are talking about giving yourself a holy and not holding back. Yeah, you are going to see some of you, I mean barometry to happen to some people here. You will by all means see people you marry and you see that the person you've married is holding back and doesn't love you fully. That's when you see pepper, what it is like to serve God, holding back that of your love or giving back to another section, another person. That's when you see pepper. Amen. Are you there? Right? Luke chapter 14. God is telling us that a good person does not hold back. Luke chapter 14, No. Matthew chapter. Matthew chapter 13, verse number 4040. Matthew 13 verse #14 44. The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all that he had and bought that field again. The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it now the Kingdom of Heaven. You see, Jesus is explaining what it is to find the Kingdom of heaven. You see what I'm saying to you? It's of great importance because your life on earth is going to be short and probably shorter still for your generation. Why? Because life is getting shorter. If you watch around diseases that used to happen to only people in their 80s and 70s are happening to people who are much younger. And you will notice that you will attend funerals of youngish people. Yes, because more things are cutting life shorter. So sometimes you find that people. Who are? Sometimes your parents maybe live for a long time and you may say, oh, in my family everybody lives long. But you'll find out that in your generation there are some mutations and variations because what your father ate, fresh fish from the sea and fresh meat from a real cow, may not be what you are eating. The beef that you are eating is the imported from France, The meat that they don't eat there and the hormones that they don't eat over there, they are sending it. And that is the Stew that you are eating. Yeah, it's not a real cow. How many cows do we have in Ghana? Very few and we are eating beef all the time. Are you listening to me? If you look at corn beef, you see that the corn beef today is different from yesterday's corn beef. There is a difference in the corn beef and even in England when they recently decided to test their mean tell you organs, they decided to test their sausages. They found out that there was horse meat in it and they found other meat in it. They've been selling it as pork till pork, so say beef such as it is horse, they mix all just. So when you look at corned beef where you cannot see what am I seeing? It just looks like that. Is it the tongues or the intestines or what? Are they ground together? Which animal is it? And you see the combi when you open it, there's water in it. That is not how it used to be. Yeah. Because men are more wicked. Yeah. Some of the kebab that we buy, it's not a real, sometimes a human being. Yeah. So, brothers and sisters, I am telling you that you'll realize that life is short and getting shorter. Yeah. And it's because of sin and the evil like most of us have seen APOP. Raise your hand if you've seen APOP for exams. OK. But in my time, most of us have not seen APOP. So your lives are likely to be shorter because of your sins. Your sins are more because you have, you have committed the sins of deception, stealing, lying and all those things which a generation before you, just 20 years before, never you were not even exposed to it. You see, if you look at pornography some years ago, to see pornography, I mean, I remember the first time that I saw pornography, I went to a television repairer. To repair my father's television. And then I just saw something. What is that? And then I came out for one second. I've never seen anything like that before. In those days, we used to repair television, which is not available to repair television. Those days we repair everything we repair. Yeah. Now if you repair it, you get spot again. Yeah, but most of you have what if it the girls watch in detail. Sister, if you have watched lift up your right hand. So listen, you see deception that also lies on your phone, on your phone, WhatsApp, somebody, WhatsApp, view pornography, Facebook, the WhatsApp view the website, a link and then you chat. And then why am I saying this? I'm trying to explain to you that 20 years ago the people who were alive were not falling into these things. It was not there 20 years ago. But today, we today in today's generation, you have a United States president who has a wife and children to be proudly advocating and promoting it. And the, the, the, the British Prime Minister as well and French President, all of them to the point that if you are not gay or you don't accept gayism, it's like this. I think there's something wrong. You are inhuman, you are wicked, you are evil and whatever. So I'm just trying to explain that in your time, at your age, you are committing more sins. That is what shortens life. Some time ago, a girl cannot wear trousers to come or even sit next to a brother. Yes, we were in purity, paying brother to brother. You see, brother is looking at another brother's neck. Absolute purity. This is why life in general, you notice that there's lifespan drops. Generally, yes, it drops. You may not know. So that's why you will see 25 years old, the person has got cancer. Yeah, 25 and the person has got cancer and is dying, something that if and if at all 70 should have had it at 70. So sin has a general. But what is it about sin? Is that because let's say 3 of you may go and watch pornography and one person may get sick but the other two remain healthy? So you don't correlate it directly that this causes it. This causes it. So what I'm saying about giving yourself holy to the Lord, it's very important because your life on earth is a short part of your existence. It's a short part of your existence. You're going to continue existing. In fact, I feel that when you are dead, you are probably more alive than when you are alive. And you know many things that people who are alive don't know. And then of the people who are alive, right? Many of us are in darkness, especially we are not aware of the people that have lived before us. There are so many people that have been alive, even Adam and Eve. There are a lot of people who believe they have so many children. I've read, I have them tell you so many names of the children of Adam and Eve. Apart from, what do you call it, Cain and Abel? They heard about 11 children. Yeah. And if people have come live, gone live, existed and gone. So there are more people in the dead from the alive ones? No, it's like we are a community, but in two systems. Yeah, the dead section, the alive section, like Kamla DuMont has joined the the dead section. And you already, you are used to the idea that he should be dead. You are used to the idea. It's like after the shock, 2-3 days, it's like it's one of the dead. And then it's like you forget about it. You just adjust in your mind that you are among the dead and you just flew with life, you see? Yeah. Because your career on this Earth, whether you believe it or not, it's not going to be long. Yeah, it's not going to be long. It's not going to be as long as you think. Yeah. You. So do this. You do this. You do this, You do this. Some of you will not even see all those things. Yeah. You see when somebody dies, right? You can. If a person is 41 years old, a person dies, what you can stand back to say is that, OK, this person actually had only 41 years when he was born. So you have, you should have been told we have only 41 years. But it's like if they tell you, you wouldn't even believe it. So if I say stand up and I say, oh, this is, I don't want to say any, any issue. But if I say this is your whatever you'll be, you'll be, you'll be amazed. You say, hey, what are you saying? Is it true? You know, and I say stand up and I give you the the time. So. What only it's like? Yes, this is it. This is it. It's unbelievable. That is why when you lay hands on the Kingdom that will be forever and ever and you are, you are being given an opportunity to be in a certain group and to join a certain type of people that will forever and ever have a certain place because the society is far bigger than our small world. You must take up on it only that's why I look, the purpose is the Kingdom of heaven. It's like a man who has seen a treasure in a field and he says, look, sell me your land and the masses is 5000. And he goes to sell everything he has just to have that field because there's a treasure that he's seen. So the Kingdom of God is worth giving everything up, everything in the world up, just for that treasure? Yeah. Including medicine. Law. What? Astrology, astronomy, accounting, nursing, engineering. What what are these? What are these? You see, since I started, since I started practicing medicine outside Kolibu, I've come to see that there are many things in medicine that when you are in school you are taught 1234 do this. But when you come out, you come to see that even medicine as we know it is an evolving science. People are learning on the job. When I was, when I was even just let's say 5-10 years, 5-10 years ago, something like IVFIVF, artificial fertilisation, vitro fertilisation, it was not common. It's commoner now, not so common here, but it's very complete. You can even have it in prison. People in prisoners, they demand rights to have a child and they have IVF done in prison so that they can have a child in prison. Yeah. But even in in in medical school, there is no tact where they will teach you about about it. I don't know if they are teaching you now. Yeah, they never teach about it. But it's something that is being practiced really is necessary to be done now. So that I mean, it's something that people are like John Wesley used to practice medicine. Yeah, I'm telling you, if I hadn't been, I will always be afraid of your courses. When I meet you, I say, what are you doing? You say Dundology. Wow. I wouldn't be ashamed to ask what is Dundology? I will go away thinking that it's rocket science, but not knowing that it's drumming or dancing. Dancing. This is the treasure which is worth giving up your boyfriend for. That boy, that boy who says that he loves you? It's not true. You, you must never give up Christ for a boy. A boy, A boy with a multilateral interest, multidirectional interest. Look, maybe they will not tell you, but I will tell you that I will tell you. Maybe they will tell you, but I will tell you. Sit down. Multidirectional. Maybe the others will tell you, but I will tell you there is no man with a unidirectional interest. There is no man with a unidirectional interest in girls. Yeah, and it's not worth giving up everything for a girl. Within four months, you will look around and say, hey, did I choose the right person? Did I choose the right person? What was I thinking about? What did I see? What didn't I see? Well, as you are saying I do I will. You see that your sight of your head is praying you because you are thinking my dog. But the kicker of heaven, it's like a treasure that a man will give up everything shall his house, his time, everything to get that treasure. That's why I've given up everything and everything I've given up God, I've given it back to me. So when you look at me, you may feel I've not given up anything. This is This is why when you are following somebody, you must follow the person at the stage that you are. You must find him at the stage that you are. If you try to follow me now the, the, the wait, the medicine that I gave up. God has given me a hospital. I have, I have specialists who work for me. Yes, one is sitting here. You wait for me. Not that I, my God will be a specialist, but they are giving me specialist who work for me. A number of them, a number of them, A hospital. I walk in there as a boy. I arrived there. Everybody will salute me. Yeah, that's what I gave up. So that's what I gave up. So medicine days, days are everything. Yeah, I have it all back 1000 times. Yeah. So when you look at me, it looks like I've never given up anything. That's why when you are following, the act of following is to follow somebody at the stage of his life, which is matches your stage of life and ministry. Yeah. That's the reason that we tell stories of these things so that you can understand and appreciate. This is what it was like. Oh, he didn't have anything. I, when I got when I was getting married or when I got married, didn't have anything. I didn't have anywhere to stay. My father had a hotel. I said give me, will you give me one of the you can stay in one of the rooms. And I went to stay in one of the rooms. I didn't have any house. I stayed in that room for three years and gave that to two children there. But today, if you look at me, you may think that, oh, Bishop is talking about something that he cannot relate with. I do not buy a car. The car that I was using was a car that my father gave me when I was in medical school as a student. He gave me a car when I was a student. Yeah. And I used it throughout school and after school. That was the main thing. But today, if you look at me, you may see a Bishop as a nice car. So we are also following to get a nice car. I made a mistake. You're following other. It's a mismatched. It's a mismatch. If you like, Yeah, match yourself to the stage of the person. I can't get it for wiping sweat. People have gone to America. A lot of relatives, you, you know who have gone to America. The reason they are not coming back or they are not coming for visits is it is being financial. Take it from me, you don't know, you don't. They cannot come. One, one time I met one of my mates, he was coming on a holiday to Ghana and he had, I mean, the number of days he were calculated and I was thinking he has parked his car at the airport. He has counted a certain number of days to be in Ghana. He has not been to Ghana for about 8 years. He's parked his car at the airport, my mates and he's going back and then he wanted to stay two more days. So he has to call somebody to do the work for him and come back then pick his sky. Oh, a lot of things. Wow, this is a small thing. So I, I tell you, God is showing you what we give ourselves wholly to. Yeah. What you give yourself wholly to is it is to God is worth giving yourself wholly to. And I, I will never regret, I never regret that I have chosen God as a young person. I didn't choose God as an older person. I chose God as a young person. There's a difference between choosing God when you are young and choosing God when you are old. And there's a difference between choosing God when you are sick. Look the most hardened somewhere person when he is sick. He will say pray for me. Even the politicians when they are broke and they are out of power, they all see pastors for prayers when they are in power and they feel they know everything. They never, they will never see you for any prayers. So it is when you also give yourself to God that matters. When, when do you give yourself to God? When do you give yourself to God? When, at what stage do you give yourself to? When do you, when do you choose him? At what stage do you give yourself to him? That's what matters. That's what you mean by giving yourself holy when you come, when we are whether beating or tired, retired, whatever you are now coming to give yourself holy to God. You have neglected the gift that is in you for years. Milk powder. The milk has become milk powder. Your beautiful face, now it's wrinkles. That is what you want to give to the Lord. Then what are you giving? You say you are giving yourself more. You are giving the last part to the Lord. You've eaten everything on the plate and there's a small part. There's a Lord. And you like my small rice? You like my small? I've got 2 blows left. I'm giving myself holy to you. 2 blows. I give it to you, Lord. The last two blows. The last two blows of my life I'm giving to you, Lord. You are joking. I don't know why. When it comes.
