01. 25 Reasons Why You Must Have a Mega Church

Welcome to track number one of Missions Africa. It's good to be here. Are we blessed to be here? I just I just want to share with you briefly as our pastor, our father and our Bishop sets off to join us shortly. He'll be here shortly. I just want to share with you from a sentence that I read recently from one of his books. Are you happy for me to share with you from a sentence? Someone will read a sentence to you. And I believe that it will be a great blessing to us, 'cause it blessed me. OK. Do you, do you love the Lord? How many of you here love the Lord? How many of you love the wake of the Lord? The wake These are, it's, it's one thing to like somebody and it's also another thing to like what the person is doing. You understand. And usually the closer you get to someone, the more attracted you get to what the person is doing and what the person likes doing. You understand because many people love God. We say we love God, but we don't. We are not interested in what God is doing or what God wants to do. You understand, and what God is involved in. And really if if you are doing something and someone says they like you, one of the things that are important to you is whether the person likes what you do and what you are doing or whether the person just wants things from you. You understand there are people when when they like you, they just want what you give to them and what you can offer to them and what you can provide for them. If if you read, if you read the ministry of Jesus, there were different, different groups of people in Jesus life. The answer you had, we had the apostles that were interested in what Christ was doing. Have you ever heard of an one of the apostles who was blind and Jesus healed him? Yes. And so the, the association with Christ was not about healing and deliverance and what you have for him and what what you will get from him. The association with him was more of what Christ was doing. This is what I'm doing. So we are joining you to do what you are doing. And then we have the people at the pool of Bethesda. They were not apostles or evangelists or or church planters. They are not. I don't know whether they were interested in it or not, but they were. They were part of his ministry, but they were there for. What? Christ can give to them. Do you understand so? What you you said there are different. People that were involved in the in the, in the life of Christ. And you see it in the church as well, that there are different people that revolve around the pastor and around the ministry with different desires and different aims. There are people who are there because it's like when you, you see, when you're in the church, you receive this, you get this, you get that. And depending on the pastor and what the pastor has to offer, what the pastor wants to emphasize, you can also make himself into this great start that everybody depends on him. Everybody depends on him. Like Christ at the pool of Bethesda that have come, once I have come, you have been. Here for 38 years you've not been here, but. Once I have come, you will get healing, which is fine, which is great, but there's another side to things that also what I am doing. You can also do it and you can also be part of what I am doing and I believe that in Lighthouse Chapel, in Lighthouse Chapel International, if you are part of Lighthouse Chapel International, one of the things that we believe in, apart from healing, ministry, deliverance, deliverance, prosperity, all the other things that go with Christianity and the faith. One of the things that we strongly believe in is that you would also be interested in what we do and what we are doing and the work of the ministry, the work of the ministry. I believe that in this camp, as much as you are in the camp, the aim is to train you and to expose you to the work of the ministry. Do you like it? Do you like that idea? I read a sentence and I thought that it is, it will be a good point to share with you and to encourage us to be people who are also interested in the work, in the work of our pastor and our Bishop and our Father, that we also want to do what he is doing, what God has given to him, the vision, the dream, the burning desire that he has for the work of the minister. We will also have the same and be part of it. And not just that we want our eyes to be opened and we want our crippled legs to be healed and we want our ears to be opened. Not just that that's that's one part, but there's also another part. I mean, if you if, if really these are the different people that were in Jesus ministry, which part which group will you choose? The apostles or those who are the pool of Bethesda, Which one would you like? Where would you like to be? Even though both are the ministry of Jesus Christ, but if you had to. Choose. Where would you like to be? Which ones would you choose? Would you like to be go and sit at the pool for 38 years? How would you like to go and sit at the pool for 38 years? How would you like to be an apostle, an evangelist working, doing the work of the ministry? I think I also like to do the work of the ministry. So I read this thing which says that a burning a burning, a burning vision and dream is is the invisible engine that drives a minister on that journey. Do you understand? When, When? When? I read this thing. It says that I'll read it again. It says that a burning vision and dream is the invisible engine that drives a minister on that journey. Really what what struck me is that the building of the church, the building of the church is a journey. It's not, it's not something that just happens overnight. It's a it's a journey and it's a long journey. It's a long, difficult, tiring journey. Do you understand that? Every pastor, every serious Christian, to have that in his mind that, look, this thing is a journey. You understand what a journey is. It means that. It means that you are traveling. It means that you are moving. It means that you are. You are. You are far from your, you are far from the end, and you are far from your destination. But you are on course. Once. You are on the road, it means that you are approaching the place. Once you are moving, it means that you are getting closer than when you began. So it is a journey and everybody must put himself on that journey. And in this. Camp, we have to put ourselves on the journey of building the church and increasing the church and causing the church to grow because many people have not begun that journey and don't even want to start that journey. Am I supposed to know you? OK, The other one, many, many people, many people have not started that journey. They've they've just been church members, but they've not put themselves on that journey of we are building the church, we are building the church. We want the church to be built. We want the church to be built and it's painful. It's painful when you have people in your life who are not interested in what you are doing. They are only interested in what they want from you, but they are not interested in what you are doing. The more you find people who are interested in what you are doing, the more you like them and the closer you get to them and the more you become interested in their lives, in their lives. That's why you start fixing even their blindness and their deafness and their disabilities and the things they are incapable of doing. Because you can see that, Say someone who really likes you, if you were God, if you were God, will you not like people who like you? And how will you know? How will you know that this person likes you? It's not when the person is interested in the journey that you are on. You have sent your only begotten Son, the only Son, your only Son you had. You have sent him to come into the world, to come and die for the world, that none should perish, that none should perish. This is why you sent him. This is why it's not so. You didn't say it, You said it. It's stated in your words that you have sent your son that none should perish. That's why you have, you have, you have sent your son to come into the world to die. And that when you meet all these people who claim they like you, they are not interested in the reason why you sent your son. It's not their priority. It's not #1 for them. That none should perish, that none should perish. You see, you are all in the church because it means that it means that your your journey of perishing. Has been terminated. And then you've now been put on the journey of life. That's why you are in the church. It's because somebody came, a pastor came, a lay minister came, a shepherd came. You know, whoever it is or whatever he is, he came into your life to terminate your journey. You were you were on course to condemnation and to perishing and the person. Came to you and. Spoke to you about Jesus Christ, you you thought you were being invited to a church called Lighthouse Chapel, but what the person was doing was terminating and changing your course from perishing and from dying to becoming someone who will now pursue life. So now that you are safe, now that you are safe, now that you are safe with, with, with, with, maybe you have you have just one eye. And then you are saying that the reason why God sent his Son is to heal that one eye. And God is also saying that I didn't say just. For your eye to be healed. None. Should perish. There's something greater than your eye. There's something more important than your eye, so you can't just discuss your one eye with me. In fact, even if even if you follow his teachings, you will discover that he even says that he prefers you to come to heaven with one eye, so that your one eye actually shouldn't be an issue. When I say one eye do understand that is something that you lack in your life, that is something that you would like to have and you desire to have, he said. That it's not, it's not. And I believe that from the different countries that we've come to, if we had this burning vision and. Dream and. Have started this journey. This hall should have been too small for us. This all have been, should have been too small for us. But we have left so many perishing people, so many perishing people. And maybe because we have, we have chosen to sit at the pool. We want to sit at the pool instead of being instead of being part of the school of apostles and the school of pastors and the school of people who love the work or that we love the work of God, that of God. You know, we have issues in our lives that we like your work. We like your work. We like it. I mean, we like it because you are doing something good that we want to do, that thing that you are doing not. Just not just. Because I want to get as well getting things. There are so many things to get. I mean that's the truth. There are so many things to get from board. I mean you, you will get things. You will. You will get things, but you will get things if you are interested in what. He's doing and. And if you understand what I'm saying, if you're interested in what he's doing. So there's a journey, there's a journey, there's a journey that we must put ourselves on. If if I if I understand this sentence well that there's a journey that anybody who wants to see. Church growth. Church increase. The Kingdom of God flourishing, the wake of God moving. It's a journey you must begin. You must start off and you must tell yourself that I. Have started off a very long road. It's a long road where I have to stay there and persist. I have to stay with it and persist, persist, stay with it, stay with it. Keep on persisting, keep on pressing on, keep on battling through. But you see when, when that understanding is not there, when, when even even today, when you see people, when you see people even getting people into the church, even the premise they use to get people to the church, it's quite unfortunate. It's quite unfortunate. It's it's like come to church for us to be happy. Our church is nice. Our pasta is nice. Our pasta is funny. There are a lot of, there are a lot of people like you in the church instead of explaining salvation, salvation. And therefore when you are saved, you will think of someone else who is not saved. So I have to bring somebody else who is not saved. I have to find someone else who has to be saved is embedded. So that's what keeps us moved. But the, the, the foundation already is different. If I is just a happy place. So I have found happiness. So if I have found happiness, I, I need, I need to find more happiness. I I need to be there and look for more happiness and discover more happiness. And therefore, and therefore based on that we are we are developing a a system of of very weak believers, believers who are weak believers who just like who like who like comfort, convenience. How many of you have watched this movie before In Pursuit of Happiness? How many of you are if you are need see your hand Pursuit of Happiness by a man called Will Smith. Is it? Even even you look at the title and Pursuit of Happiness. I I watched it once. I only remember one thing in that movie where he said to his son, is it because his wife left him? His wife left him because he was broke. Yeah, he left. Him, he left him with his son because they were broke, they didn't have anything. Is this so? One day his son asked him Daddy why did mummy leave us? Why did mammy leave? And he gave. An answer I can't. Forget, he said to his son. Mammy left because she's weak. Yeah. Yeah, she left because she's weak. She's a weak woman. That's why she left. I've been promoted to godless rap for me, but I have to adjust the sound quickly. Yeah, 211212 too much bass. OK, try sift. Because if the difficulty was like an adventure for him, there's like, we try this, we sleep on the streets, we sleep in toilets. We don't have a home, we don't have the. So why give myself? Mummy left because she's weak. It's like, it's like difficulty comes. And then you resign, difficulty comes, then you resign. So you see, people who don't like the hard and difficult Rd. of building a church is a sign of weakness. People who don't like the work of God, they don't like the work of God. There's a let's try the work of today. You try it, it didn't work. Tomorrow you try again. It will work next time. It doesn't work. We don't like it. We like the comfort of. What can I? Receive What can I have, What can I get? What can God do for me? What is God doing for me? It's a it's, it's a presence of weakness in the church. When you see people like that, you've seen weakness. You see the words of Christ, the words of Christ, the words of Jesus Christ. There is no, there is no statement of convenience, he said. Take up your cross, take up your cross, take it up your cross. That is your sufferings, your shame, your tears, your blood. Take it up, take it up and come. Let's all go and donate some blood. Let's go and donate some shame. Let's go and donate some sweat and some difficulty to build a check. Take it up. This kind of convenience and comfort and what will work and what is easy, Forget about it and let's do that. Let's do something that will break sweat and will shed some blood. But this kind of softy, softy convenient. What can I receive? What can I get? Since I joined the church, Isn't it me, people, Why are you? Why are you in the church? Are you happy in the church? Yes, I'm happy in the church. Why do you like the church? Because since I joined the church, I've got a job, I've got this, I have this. It's not, it's not a good testimony. It's not a good testimony. It's not saying that since I joined the church, Since I joined the church, I pray more, I fast more, more souls have joined the church. I didn't know that I could lead people into the church instead of having such a testimony that since I joined the church, I and my household have been saved. I and my household have been saved. We don't have such testing, please, because we have weaklings. Since I joined the church I buy, I wear more shirts, I wear more shoes. I eat this, I do this, I do this kind of this kind of easy smooth. I'm married, isn't it? I've I've got a beloved. I'm married, I'm producing babies. My wife is pregnant with a fourth. I mean, it's like this at the distance how the church is working and church is good. Meanwhile, the person we cling to the following, he said Take up your cross, take it up your cross, take it up. You see me, you 2 take up your cross and let's go. Because with the absence of the cross in the believer's life is the presence of weakness. We are weak. We are not strong, We are not strong. On the journey, I mean, we will not even finish the journey. You can't even finish the journey, can't even finish the journey, you can't even continue because you don't have the desire and the drive to survive and to go through things and to pay the. Price. You want easy things? Easy, easy things lead us and guide us all the time, all the time, all the time. You see decisions we make, moves we make, testimonies, testimonies that we have. It's it's, it's all in pursuit of happiness. If you are my friend, do you know the question? I'll ask you. I ask you, why do you want to be happy? Why? That's the question I'll ask you. If you're a serious Christian and you are my friend and I see you making some moves. That's what the question I'll ask you. I'll ask you in private. I want to ask you through preaching, ask you in private. Between the two, I'll ask you to your face. I'll ask you why do you want to be happy? What do you want happiness for? What am I going to do with it? And who has guaranteed you the happiness? In a way, that's a question I asked. Why do you want to be happy? What are you doing? Did Jesus come into this world to be happy? He come for parties, He come to wine and dine. Did he come to marry and to have soft tissues next to him at night? I mean, was that his vision? Was that his vision? Was that his aim? No, no, no, you're not. You're not answering my question. I'm asking a question like the Christ you have chosen. It was that, I mean, is that his aim? That as I'm coming, as I'm coming, I'm coming to get this, to do this. As he was sitting in in heaven, he couldn't wait for his father to send him to on earth because there are some beautiful Zimbabwean girls on earth. He's seen some wonderful Zambian girls. I think I am. Can you imagine? Can you? Imagine Christ a I'm going for the Zambian girl, one guy said to me. This he said to me, he said he said, he said to me, Bishop, if you taste a Zambian girl, you know like to taste another. He's still here, he's in England. He said it to me in England. That if you taste a Zambian girl. I said, brother, you've been tasting things. So since he since he met, he met the lady from Zambia, he has stopped tasting. He said this this is this has the right amount of salt and pepper. Yeah, if if we're we're safe, we're safe to find just to find the right girl. Oh, what a shame. It's unfortunate. It's unfortunate, but you will see. You will see when you analyze it, you see how we have reduced what we have reduced Christianity to. We've actually reduced it to something that it is not. It is not, but we have reduced it to that thing. That this is what it is. This is Christian. Let's leave it. And with time, with time, you see, when you don't have a strong, a strong leader to correct it, no matter how unpopular he will sound. If you don't have a strong to correct it and to point it out to you that you are out of order, no matter how, no matter how unpopular it may sound, if you don't want someone to point it out to you that look, even though they're masses, this is what they are doing. This is what they claim. This is what they are preaching about. But that is not what it is if you don't. Have that, you will think that it's the norm because them is the norm. That's what it's done. Therefore it is right. It's right. We are getting weak. I mean, we are. We are like spineless, spineless believers. So you should see, you see our churches. You see our churches with stories, with stories and explanations why the church can't work, why our ministry can't work. Why is this? Because we have weak. We have people who want to be happy. These are getting souls safe. They want to be happy. They are in pursuit of happiness. So they can't grow a church, they can't establish a soul, they can't lead a soul to Christ. But they have sex and Zimbabwean girls and Zambian girls and Malawian girls, they have it. That one is easy for them to get. But they can't establish a soul. And they can't even see that there's a difference in their achievement and what God sent his only begotten Son into this world to do. They can't believe that there's a difference that they have no with all that they have achieved and all that they have accomplished, they have not begun. They have not begun the journey, the journey, the journey with a burning dream and the burning they haven't started. The journey hasn't started. Even though they claim to have testimonies and things that since I came to God, the journey has not begun for them. They can't even see. They can't see. They can't tell it hasn't. It hasn't started because if it starts, if you start, you will see. Hey. I've got to take up the cross. I've got to. Lose. I've got to suffer, I've got to sacrifice. I've got to die. I've got to sweat, got to shed some blood. You know, I, I have to lose something valuable. I mean, shedding of blood is is losing your life, losing your life. Your life will be. Different for the sake of God. But you haven't. Rather your life is getting better VAT Christianity, adding value, adding value, adding value to your Christianity to your life. When you since you came to, you have added, you've rather added value to it. You've added value to your life. But Jesus lost his life. Jesus lost his life VAT Christianity adding value, adding value to your status yeah so so well in this journey on this journey the 1st. Thing that I need us to have is to have a certain understanding. To have a certain understanding. Why we must? Have start this journey you you, you understand understanding. Understanding is to have is to have reasons why you do things, reasons why you do things. So I I want to start off sharing with us 25 reasons why we must have a mega church. Do you understand why we must build a church? That's the first key on this Gen. is understanding. People don't do things because they don't understand why they should do it, and I'm saying that you don't. We don't Understanding is having reasons why. That is understanding when you have reasons why you have understanding when you know how you have wisdom, do you understand wisdom is the how of doing things and. Understanding is the reasons why, Reasons why, why? Why should I start this journey? Why should we build a large church? Why should the church increase? Why? That gives you understanding. So even when you go and you feel like turning to the right. Of the of the road. You will remember why you are on the road and it will keep you on the road because if you don't have a reason to do something, I'm telling you, you will stop doing it soon because there are always other factors that come into your life. It just it just thrown into your life. And then before you realize you've forgotten why you are doing what you are doing. Before you realize you want to resign, you want to give up. You want to stop because you have forgotten why you have forgotten why you have forgotten why you are doing what you are doing. And a lot of the church has forgotten. They have forgotten John chapter 3 and verse 16. It's not, it's not, it's not a guiding vest for the church. It's not a guiding vest. It's not a vest that guides the church. The church is not guided by John 316. The church is guided by other things. Most of the church is guided by other things. I mean worldwide, worldwide from wherever to wherever is guided is not guided by John. John chapter 3 and verse 16 that for God so loved the world. He so loved the world. Have you loved someone before? Have you loved someone? How many have loved someone before? Even the person didn't love you. You loved the person. How many people have had that experience? But you would have loved somebody before. Do you remember the thoughts you had about someone? You loved someone. You said yes, you had some thoughts. You had some thoughts. You had some thoughts about the person. When you think about the person, you think in a certain way. You had some plans. You had some plans for the person, things you like to do, places you like to go with the person, where you like to be with the person you had. You had some thoughts because you felt you loved the person. And the boy said, For God so loved the world, so loved. You are saying you love so much with the world, so much with the wealth that he gave his only son, that anybody at all who would believe in him, that is anybody at all who wasn't. And someone says that you know that somebody called Jesus Christ, that person who believes in. Christ will not perish. This is the love of God. But that's not what is guiding the church today. We are not guided by that. We're not guided by the love of. God, even though we say we love God, we are not guided by that. We have songs for him to tell him that we love him. We have love songs, but what he said should be done in response to his love. It's not what is being done. So the there's a question on the understanding of the church. There's a question I would like to question the understanding of the church. I would not like to say that what you are doing is a sin, but I'd like to question what you understand it. What's your understanding of church? If God says church, even if you're a new converter, they want your. Understanding of church Why are you in the church? Is it together? Be laughing? Is it to be comfortable? Is it to this? Is it? I mean why? Why? What's the first? What's the first primary reason we need that understanding? That's what we have as we are blessed. We are blessed to have as many as 2525 to deepen, to deepen our understanding and to give us a good foundation to follow. Christ and to help build the mega church. So reason #1 reason #1 is that that's what God wants is is there a good reason enough for you? How may you love? God. Are you in church? OK. I think one of the rules that when you ask a question, you answer, OK, it's a it's a rule, yeah. But otherwise, I don't know whether the church is full of deaf people. The way you don't answer, it's like that. You are deaf or you are asleep or you are dead or you are arrogant. But I don't think you are any of the above. Yeah, isn't it? Yeah. So how many of you did? How many of you don't know this? The response is to lift up your hand, or to at least. Yes or no something. The response is not to stare. Because I can't tell. I can't tell. I tell my children when I'm watching the television, they come and stand in front of me. I tell them that you know. I used to see through people. It's recently, it's recently that my 18 year old daughter said to me that she said to me that do I? Know. That she actually believed that I used. To see through people and as I'm growing. Older so I can't. That's why I tell them to move away. Yeah, she said that she actually believed it, that Daddy used to see through people. But as he's getting older, he can't see through people anymore. So when we stand in front of him, he wants us to move because he used to have powers that he could see through. She told me a few a few weeks ago that she believed it all her life. But oh, so Daddy used to see through people. So I was about to tell you that I used to read minds, but I can't read minds anymore. So when we ask a question, lift up your hand. So the first reason. The first reason for what? For a mega church. How many people like that? To have a mega church in Malawi? You want it, be ready for it. Be ready for. The journey, It's a long, difficult journey. So let let these 25 reasons deepen your understanding to put you on course, to put you on course. I'm just trying to put you at the beginning of the road. This is the beginning of the road that we have to build. We've got to build tirelessly. We can't be tired, we can't give up, we can't resign, we can't become indifferent. We can't say that because this is happening so that we can't become weak. Happy or not happy, we are on the road, we are on the road, we are on the road, we are on. Course, we are going, We are pressing on. We are pressing on. So reason #1I, I told you, reason number one is because that's what God wants. That is what He wants. He wants that. He wants, he wants. That that is what he actually wants. He doesn't. He doesn't want just a few people. He doesn't want a few people in the church. Is it the church? The church is made-up of people who are saved, that is, people who have believed in Jesus Christ, That is John 316. When you believe, you'll be saved. So when the larger the churches, the more God looks at the sending of his Son to the world and he sees that it's been useful. It's been useful. The more people he sees in the church, the more he feels that John 316 is working. It's working because that's the church. The church is supposed to be filled with people that are safe. Someone is closing their eyes. The person is on this line. She's on this line. Yeah, she's on this line. I think. I think she should give a warning shot. I don't know that we are serious. Yeah. You've actually missed the person. The message is rather, Yeah. Yeah, it's all right. It's all right. It's just a warning shot. Warning shot. They'll know that we are serious. Look, do you not want? Do you not want what God wants? How do you want what God wants? And God wants the wealth to be saved. Your wealth is Malawi, your wealth is Zimbabwe, Your wealth is Zambia. Your wealth is Libumbashi. That's your wealth. If you love God, if you love God, you'll be driven by just one thing. Whichever method, whichever strategy, whichever scheme, whichever approach your, your drive will be that more souls should be saved. More, more, more should be saved. More should be saved. So instead Bishop speaking, I said that we need more churches here. Don't be angry. Don't be angry that you want cars to drive. And he is talking about more churches, he said, more churches committing more people because he loves God and he loves what God wants. Praises also more churches, more churches in Malawi, more churches in Zimbabwe, more churches in Zambia. It's because there's a deep understanding that this is what God wants, this is what he wants, this is what he wants, this is what God wants, this is what he wants. This is what he likes. This is what pleases him. This is what excites him. This is this is what he likes. Would you not like to do what what God likes? I mean you, if you love someone, would you not like to do what he likes? I'm asking you a question again. Would you not do what you want? I mean, even even your your, your little girl and your little boys that you get in your life, you call them beloved and husbands and wives and whatnot, you call them, you always want to do what they like. You want to do what they like. Don't do what they like. Who do you just want to do nice things for them? There are these. Little packets of nuts or whatever it is that they give on the flights when you are travelling. Do you understand? And my wife has placed an embargo on me that she likes it. So for years. When I try when it is given to me. I always put it in my pocket because that's what she wants. She doesn't want anything on my journey. She doesn't want anything. If you look in my bag, you always if I have travelled, you always see a small pack of small pack of nuts like this when I get to the house and I take. It and give it to her because that's what she wants. Then I say I like it and she wants it. How can I sit and open a between it when she has told me that she likes that thing? She likes that.
